If you could sail, swim, and celebrate on repeat each day for a week until you’re happily exhausted, you’d do it, wouldn’t you? Well, boating has just the event for that: Yacht Week. Haven’t heard of it? Here’s a Yacht Week Beginner’s Guide :

Rent. Charter. Share— only at Boatsetter

First, what is Yacht Week?

If you’ve never heard of The Yacht Week , it’s called the original floating festival. You stay aboard a skippered boat with a bunch of your friends, cruising alongside other like-minded travelers.

A skippered boat is a boat with someone who is in command of it, more or less equal to a captain! This gives your crew opportunities to focus on the fun and potentially learn boating from an experienced guide.

Options exist for per- cabin bookings, too. Regardless, for seven days, you explore convoy-style, visiting picture-perfect destinations like Croatia, Turkey, Tahiti, and the British Virgin Islands. While you have the freedom to follow your own itinerary, you get your skipper’s first-hand knowledge of where to go and what to do.

You can dine onboard or ashore , soak up the sun on secluded beaches, and of course, swim. Come at nighttime, and join your fellow adventurers at organized parties on the beach and in clubs. Or, simply star gaze on deck before drifting off to sleep.

Yacht Week’s brief history

The Yacht Week got its start nearly two decades ago. Directors and founders Eric Biorklund and William Wenckel worked for the same company as charter-boat captains in Europe when inspiration struck. A two-week period in Greece was so much fun that they became fast friends with their guests. Figuring they could replicate the success, they reserved 10 yachts for traveling together for a subsequent summer in anticipation of attracting 100 guests. It worked. They then added another five yachts to that total, which also filled up. Guests had so much fun, in fact, that they requested Biorklund and Wenckel arrange more trips. Soon the duo had more cruisers than staterooms available. So, they turned it into a dedicated business, and The Yacht Week was born.

With another business partner onboard, Biorklund and Wenckel set their sights on growing The Yacht Week internationally. That, too, worked. The company went from booking 30 boats in 2006 to more than 1,300 within a decade.

Experiences you’ve never had before

Yacht Week Experience

The Yacht Week is more than just skippered boats; the goal is to provide you with experiences you’ve never had before! For example, if you’re into techno, house music, and similar styles, the Croatia Ultra Route dates in July coincide with the Ultra Europe EDM festival. Pro Tip: Your yacht package includes VIP tickets.

While music is a big part of The Yacht Week—and cruising in general—other itineraries are more about the destinations and camaraderie.

From May through September, for instance, trips depart from Athens, Greece, and head to a number of islands. To ensure you get to know your fellow cruisers, a raft-up (anchoring your boat side by side) kicks off the first day.

Each day for the rest of the week, you can explore ancient sites and towns with guides on foot or drive an ATV through the countryside. Fun costume parties, White Parties (where you wear all white), and more occur each day, too.

To cap off the summer in style, book one of two available weeks (at presstime) in Turkey in September. You’ll enjoy the country’s famed Turquoise Coast, along its southwestern shore, starting out in Fethiye. When you go sightseeing, don’t miss the chance to partake in a Turkish bath. You’ll emerge with your skin feeling invigorated and an amazing story to share.

Pro Tip: Speaking of sharing, you’ll be sharing picture after picture on social media with your friends and family back home. The Yacht Week also has professional photographers and videographers on hand during each itinerary to ensure the best moments get captured.

Get a feel for boating

If you’re curious about how the boat operates, feel free to ask questions. Captains love sharing their knowledge and passion, so you can take a turn at the wheel as well. Plenty of cruisers become friends, too, with their fellow passengers, planning future cruises upon returning home. That’s what ultimately makes The Yacht Week a week to remember for a lifetime.

Yacht Selection

Choosing the right yacht is an essential part of planning your Yacht Week Croatia adventure. The Yacht Week offers a range of different yachts to cater to various group sizes, budgets, and preferences.

When selecting a yacht, here are a few factors to consider:

1. Group Size: Determine the number of people in your crew. Yachts can accommodate different group sizes, from smaller yachts for intimate groups to larger yachts for bigger parties. Make sure the yacht has enough cabins and sleeping arrangements to comfortably accommodate everyone.

2. Yacht Type: Consider the type of yacht that suits your preferences. The Yacht Week offers a variety of options, including monohulls, catamarans, and luxury yachts. Monohulls offer a more traditional sailing experience, while catamarans provide spacious and stable platforms for socializing. Luxury yachts provide additional amenities and a higher level of comfort.

3. Amenities: Check the amenities available onboard the yacht. Some yachts offer additional features such as air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, swimming platforms, and water toys. These amenities can enhance your sailing experience and provide extra fun and convenience.

4. Budget: Set a budget for your yacht rental. Yachts range in price based on their size, age, and level of luxury. Consider the overall cost of the yacht rental, including fuel, provisioning, and any additional fees. It’s important to align your budget with the type and size of the yacht you choose.

5. Skipper or Bareboat: Decide whether you want to charter the yacht with a skipper or as a bareboat. Having a professional skipper onboard can provide peace of mind and let you fully enjoy the experience, especially if you’re not an experienced sailor. If you have the necessary qualifications and experience, you may opt for a bareboat charter and take the helm yourself.

6. Age and Condition: Take into consideration the age and condition of the yacht. Newer yachts may offer upgraded features and a more modern design. However, older yachts can still be charming and well-maintained. Research the yacht’s history and reviews to ensure you choose a reliable and comfortable vessel.

7. Yacht Charter Company: Work with a reputable yacht charter company or The Yacht Week organizers to book your yacht. Ensure they have a good track record of providing quality yachts and reliable service. Read reviews and gather recommendations to make an informed decision.

It’s important to note that the availability of specific yachts may vary depending on the time of booking. Popular yachts tend to book up quickly, so it’s recommended to book your yacht well in advance to secure your preferred choice.

Remember, selecting the right yacht will contribute to the overall enjoyment of your Yacht Week Croatia experience. Consider your group’s size, preferences, and budget to choose a yacht that meets your needs and ensures an unforgettable week of sailing and celebration.

This option allows you to join a diverse and sociable group, giving you the opportunity to make new friends and forge connections with people from all over the world. 7. Swim Safety: Take necessary precautions when swimming or engaging in water activities. Be mindful of water depth and currents, especially in unfamiliar areas. Avoid diving into shallow water and always assess the conditions before cliff jumping or engaging in any water-based activities.

8. Emergency Contacts: Save emergency contact numbers including local authorities, Coast Guard, and medical services in your phone. Ensure that all crew members are aware of these emergency contacts and the location of onboard safety equipment.

Remember to respect the natural surroundings, wildlife, and local communities during your sailing adventure. Dispose of waste responsibly, avoid littering, and be mindful of noise levels, especially during overnight stays.

It’s important to note that safety is a shared responsibility. Communicate openly with your crew members, listen to the guidance of your skipper, and take necessary precautions to ensure that everyone onboard has a safe and enjoyable experience during The Yacht Week Croatia.

Yacht Week BVI: INCREDIBLE!

The only word to describe Yacht Week is: INCREDIBLE! Amazing people, both staff and guests, top class organization, and the most beautiful party sites/venues! Everything was perfect and it’s really hard to describe the experience in words. 10/10 would do again and recommend to anyone who loves to have a great time and meet new people. Thank you Yacht Week for an unforgettable week!

Best Sailing Organization

I've done two trips with Yacht Week and am already looking forward to my next one! I was a lead booker for this trip, which was honestly a lot of work. There's a lot of coordinating and planning that needs to be done beforehand, but once we are on the boat, the host, skipper and event staff have everything covered. It was the perfect break from reality and such a carefree vacation. The boat, meals, events, music, EVERYTHING was incredible! I can not wait for my next trip!

One of the best weeks of my life

One of the best weeks of my life! I would highly recommend doing this trip. I was a solo traveler and loved everyone on my catamaran including the host and skipper. I will be back! Looking for my next booking already!

BEST WEEK EVER EVER

Honestly, the greatest holiday I’ve ever been on, ever. Was so unbelievably vibes to sales the sea around Greece with by best mates and all made possible by YW! Boat was class, and super clean and loads of room to chill, cook, drink, play games and have lols. Jumping off the boat and practicing diving is addictive! Skippers were so fun and professional, felt so safe and looked after. The shop is a mammoth task, so get ready for that, but completely worth (just remember to take water and a big list!! Overall 10/10 experience Can’t wait for next year xxxxx

What an amazing experience, travelled on my own and met some great people! Easy to book and everything organised very well! Visited some great spots and created some amazing memories! Our captains were fantastic and even taught us a few things on the boat and let us sail it!

Couldn't recommend Yacht Week more

Couldn't recommend Yacht Week more (so much that I'm writing a review and I never do this). Went to Greece and have thought about it every day since, thank so much to the best crew and the best country.

It was just the absolute best time

It was just the absolute best time. Amazing people, food, location, yacht, skippers and organisation. Everything was epic. I think I'm now addicted.

Great 1st yacht week

Host Ashley & Skipper Hellen were amazing! They made the trip really come together. Most everything was amazing really. Only thing I’d change is better vetting/informing of venues for new routes - the ordering, serving, and charging at the big group dinners was rocky at best, venues didn’t seem at all prepared, which made for confusion & stress for guests.

Turkey (Kebab Week)

As an irish man the mere thought of leaving the emerald isle behind for a week on the high seas had our lad more jittery than a cup of over-caffeinated espresso. However Yacht Week Turkey was by far worth the venture. Everyday got better and better and was by far the best week ever, but sadly as my girl Nelly Furtado says “ all good things come to an end. That is until Croatia 2024!

What a trip!

Greece Yatch Week was 10/10. Our skipper was an absolute babe and everyone had the best time. Such a special group holiday!

The Yacht Week was exactly what I…

The Yacht Week was exactly what I didn’t know I needed. It was the perfect combination of sightseeing and fun! I’ve met lifelong friends and made incredible connections with people from all over the world. Our skip and host were phenomenal and so knowledgeable that our group never had to worry about making plans. 10/10 would recommend

Really disappointed with TYW

Really disappointed with TYW. First of all, your advertising is not reality. Essentially we are camping on a yacht, your advertisements make it look like a much nicer experience. All of your advertisements include the catamarans, not the monohauls. Some of the parties were really not good, the 70s one was in a tiny bar.. how could everyone possibly fit in there? The communication at the beginning of the trip was not good; your website said to meet at a certain beach club in Athens. But our skipper told us to go somewhere else.. please fix your website to reflect these changes.

Date of experience : June 18, 2022

Reply from Yacht Week

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We work hard to ensure our website is up to date and current to reflect the product. However, we are sorry to hear that it did not live up to expectations, if you’d like to speak further please contact our Customer Service team at [email protected]

Skipper amazing

Our skipper, Louise Landin was amazing and made the experience as good as possible. She was helpful in all areas and catered to everything the group needed. Otherwise the experience was good. However the toilets on the yacht didn’t work well and we were charged from the charter company for toilets not working that was no fault of ours.

Date of experience : August 05, 2023

Absolutely Incredible

Absolutely Incredible. A once in a lifetime experience. Especially with the help of Ella. Will definitely be booking again. Didn't think it was possible to have this much fun in one week. The only problem is now every other holiday is going to feel very boring in comparison

From start to finish an unforgettable…

From start to finish an unforgettable experience. The staff, the views, the parties, the balance, the food, the adventure - I can't fault a single thing about the yacht week and the staff who run it make it that much better! Won't hesitate to go back.

Amazing week away !

Unbelievable week spent island hopping Croatia with a group of friends! The staff made this such a memorable week. Amazing parties pre-planned they really think of everything. Would recommend this to anyone. I will be returning next year!

The best week of my life

The best week of my life! I went on Yacht Week for the Ultra Festival week in July & it was everything I thought it’d be & more. The festival itself was amazing, if you’re a dance music fan you’ll love it. The music, the stages, the lighting, the Yacht Week VIP area, it was all a vibe! Shout out to Yacht Week & the staff as well, the organisation was on another level. Everything throughout the week was organised for you so you could relax & focus on having a good time. All transfers from the marinas to the festival for example were all organised so you just had to turn up to the pick up point & let the night commence! The whole week as a whole was magical - you’ll be seeing me again Yacht Week!

Date of experience : July 08, 2023

Disgraceful company purely interested in your money

Yacht week told us 6 weeks before the event (Tahiti) that they would give us a decision as to whether the event is going ahead on a specific date (Monday 06th Sep). On Weds 08th Sep they have said the event MIGHT go ahead and they would give us a decision just over 2 weeks before the event. Further, they said so long as they can sail the event will go ahead despite no island parties happening due to hospitals being overrun with COVID patients. The event has already been postponed once and this company is purely self interested in being able to hang on to people's money. Been on several yacht weeks and would never go again. GIVE US REFUNDS FOR THIS COMPLETE DISASTER!!!!!

Date of experience : September 08, 2021

Hi George, Sorry that the communication has not been as clear as we would have liked. We have been waiting for the Tahiti government to set out some clear guidelines for us and unfortunately they have not managed to give us a longer term plan which is what we were hoping for. We still want to be able to give you an amazing experience and run this event, hence us waiting for guidance. Any guests who feel uncertain or worried about the trip have been given the option to move to different dates with no fees. Plus, if we are unable to run the event we will be offering refunds to all guests. We are really sorry, please get in touch with our team and they can help you.

Yacht Week in Croatia - Spend This Summer Partying on a Yacht in Croatia

How about we tell you that there is a week-long party extravaganza organized annually at a serene, virgin, and underrated destination in Eastern Europe? What's more? There is a twist here -the parties take place on the yachts! Sounds exciting?  Croatia , as a few of us might be aware, is a small European country with an enviably long coastline along the Adriatic Sea. Owing to the long coast, there are islands, harbors, and quaint towns aplenty!

Yacht Week In Croatia

If you are a hardcore party animal, the Yacht Week in Croatia is the place to be! There are around 30-35 yachts anchored at the harbour where you are also housed. This seven day long floating parties are every party lover's paradise! Sip your drink, watch movies, dance to your heart's content, chill with others, the to-do list is quite endless!

What Is Yacht Week?

The Yacht Week is a famous seven-day festival hosted every year in six different locations, with Croatia being one. In brief, the festival is nothing less than a full-fledged water adventure. It includes a vast selection of activities organized by The Yacht Week. One of the rules of the Yacht Week is to have an equal number of participants, both male and female, who have earned their way into the yacht. The occurrences at Yacht Week remain a mystery as one would get on board having absolutely no idea as to how the next seven days would be beside the standard understanding of the festival. This limited knowledge regarding the itinerary and schedules is what makes the festival all the more exciting.

Where to Book for Yacht Week in Croatia?

Start with trying to gather your like-minded friends around and book a boat, or if you intend to go solo, make sure to book a cabin for yourself on one of the yachts early on!

Make sure to book from their official website (www.theyachtweek.com). The boats per route are limited, so book in advance!

Yacht Week in Croatia

Yacht Week Routes

Every destination is unique in its way and has different offerings regarding party levels, local exploration and culture. All sorts of travellers are welcome here, so there are slabs to choose from-Fast paced, mid-paced and easy/slow-paced! Both the routes of Croatia - the original & ultra-festival come under the fast-paced category. The festivities go on throughout the day, and you can enjoy non-stop activities and have the time of your lives!

What is a Typical Day at the Yacht Week in Croatia like?

Yacht Week in Croatia

A perfect way to unwind, relax and let your hair down, you need not have a hardcore schedule, and the itinerary is just what you need to have fun and chill at the same time, ensuring that you have a memorable experience at the party! But to give you a rough idea, a typical day would be something like:

Yacht Week in Croatia Prices and Categories

Yacht Week Yachts

As they say, good things don't come easy and if you're wondering what would the cost of the trip be like, let us give you a brief idea.

The overall cost of the Yacht week in Croatia depends on aspects of your destination, itinerary, the group size and the kind of yacht you would like to charter! You either have an option to book a full yacht (can accommodate a group size of 6-12 people) or a cabin (for two people) on one of the yachts.

The former has three categories to choose from; the rates are per person - Standard (starts at $ 550), Premium (starting $ 752) and Premium Plus ($ 777 onwards). The prices for renting a cabin would range from $ 650 to $ 995 per person, depending on the package inclusions.

However, be prepared to shell out additional money on the airfare, airport transfers, and other exclusions. Do read everything clearly before booking!

Good experiences don't come cheap, right?

Hiring a skipper

Skippers are yacht professionals certified in the sport. They maintain the safety and security of the audience and ensure their excitement meets the perfect experience. These licensed sailors who would be onboard with the crew, also teach those who are willing to learn the art of yachting.

Skipper hiring is an easy process; it would require a couple of online methods. But what is difficult is pinning down the right skipper for you, regarding experience, certification and hospitality. Here are some of the websites through which you could get in touch with your personal skipper:

While a yacht may be the first thing that pops to mind when you think of the ultra-wealthy, chartering one might not be as expensive as you think. When you're splitting the costs between several family members or friends you are paying for transportation and stay and it can make sense financially.

Editor's note: prices are subject to change and may vary depending on the time of the year.

Kelly Ripa Asks for Invite to Diddy’s Yacht in Poorly Timed ‘Live With Kelly and Mark’ Rerun

Live With Kelly and Mark just proved that re-airing old interviews isn’t always smooth sailing — especially in the wake of Diddy ’s recent scandal.

The Tuesday, April 2, episode of the morning talk show featured an old interview with Mary J. Blige that originally aired in June 2023. During the chat, cohost Kelly Ripa asked Blige, 53, for an invitation to Diddy’s yacht.

“I was in Capri, and I was actually visiting my big brother Puff’s boat,” Blige said, referencing one of Diddy’s many nicknames.

“Next time you go on Puff’s boat, we’d like to!” Ripa, 53, replied.

The choice to re-air the interview was poorly timed given the raids of two of Diddy’s homes conducted on March 25, allegedly in connection to a federal sex trafficking investigation. The rapper, 54, was not home at the time of the raids and has not been charged or arrested in connection to the investigation.

TMZ reported that Diddy’s sons Justin, 30, and King, 26, whom he shares with exes Misa Hylton and Kim Porter , respectively, were both detained by police and released several hours later.

While Diddy has not directly addressed the raids, his lawyer released a statement on March 27.

“[Last week], there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences,” attorney Aaron Dyer told Us in a statement. “There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated. Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities. Despite media speculation, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way.”

Diddy shared his first social media post since the raids on Sunday, March 31.

“HAPPY EASTER from Baby Love,” he captioned several photos of his 17-month-old daughter, Love, whom he shares with ex Dana Tran . Diddy muted comments on the Instagram post.

The musician was also spotted out and about on Thursday, March 28. In photos obtained by the Daily Mail , Diddy looked unbothered leaving a Top Golf in Miami with twin daughters Jessie and D’Lila, 17, whom he shares with Porter, who died at age 47 in 2018.

After the raids made headlines, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie (real name Casandra Ventura) reacted to the news via a statement from her rep.

“We will always support law enforcement when it seeks to prosecute those that have violated the law,” the singer’s spokesperson told Us on March 25. “Hopefully, this is the beginning of a process that will hold Mr. Combs responsible for his depraved conduct.”

Ukraine brought the war far from the front line into the heart of Russia again Sunday in drone penetrations that Russian authorities said damaged two office buildings a few miles (kilometers) from the Kremlin and a pig breeding complex on the countries’ border.

The attacks, which Ukraine didn’t acknowledge in keeping with its security policy, reflected a pattern of more frequent and deeper cross-border strikes the Kyiv government has launched since starting a counteroffensive against Russian forces in June. A precursor and the most dramatic of the strikes happenned in May on the Kremlin itself, the seat of power in the capital, Moscow.

Sunday’s was the fourth such strike on the capital region this month and the third this week, showing Moscow’s vulnerability as Russia’s war in Ukraine drags into its 18th month.

The Russian Defense Ministry said three drones targeted the city in an “attempted terrorist attack by the Kyiv regime.” Air defenses shot down one drone in Odintsovo in the surrounding Moscow region, while two others were jammed and crashed into the Moscow City business district.

Photos and video showed that a drone had ripped off part of the facade of a modern skyscraper, IQ-Quarter, located 7.2 kms (4.5 miles) from the Kremlin. When the drone hit, sparks, flames and smoke spewed from the building, with debris falling on the sidewalk and street. Windows were blown out, and metal window frames were mangled. A security guard was injured, Russia’s state news agency Tass reported, citing emergency officials. Russia’s Ria-Novosti news agency reported the building’s tenants included several government agencies.

Flights were temporarily suspended at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport, and the airspace over Moscow and the outlying regions was temporarily closed.

President Vladimir Putin, who was in his hometown of St. Petersburg at the time of the attempted attacks for meetings with African leaders and a naval celebration, was briefed, his spokesman said.

Ukrainian officials didn’t acknowledge the attacks but President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his nightly video address: “Gradually, the war is returning to the territory of Russia — to its symbolic centers and military bases, and this is an inevitable, natural and absolutely fair process.”

A Ukrainian air force spokesman also didn’t claim responsibility but said the Russian people were seeing the consequences of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

“All of the people who think the war ‘doesn’t concern them’ — it’s already touching them,” spokesperson Yurii Ihnat told journalists Sunday.

“There’s already a certain mood in Russia: that something is flying in, and loudly,” he said. “There’s no discussion of peace or calm in the Russian interior any more. They got what they wanted.”

Ihnat also referenced an early Sunday drone attack on Crimea, Ukrainian territory which Russia occupied and illegally annexed in 2014. The Russian Defense Ministry announced it had shot down 16 Ukrainian drones and neutralized eight others through electronic jamming. No casualties were reported.

Zelenskyy has vowed to take back all land Russian forces have occupied, including Crimea, and his efforts have been strengthened by the receipt and deployment of increasingly advanced Western weapons.

In the earlier attacks on Moscow, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported shooting down a Ukrainian drone outside the city on Friday. Four days earlier, two drones struck the Russian capital , one of them falling in the center of the city near the Defense Ministry’s headquarters along the Moscow River about 3 kilometers (2 miles) from the Kremlin. The other drone hit an office building in southern Moscow, gutting several upper floors.

In another attack on July 4, the Russian military said air defenses downed four drones on Moscow’s outskirts and jammed a fifth that was forced down.

Russia has also blamed Ukrainian forces for attacking border areas, and on Sunday, the governor of one such region, Bryansk, said a Ukrainian strike damaged a pig breeding complex and injured three people.

In Ukraine, the air force reported Sunday it had destroyed four Russian drones above the Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Information on the attacks could not be independently verified.

Meanwhile, a Russian missile strike late Saturday killed two people and wounded 20 in the city of Sumy in northeast Ukraine. A four-story vocational college building was hit, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said. Local authorities said that dormitories and teaching buildings were damaged in the blast and a fire that followed.

While the attacks continued on the war front, so did the war of words. Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy secretary of Russia’s Security Council, issued his latest nuclear war threat in a Telegram post Sunday. In it, he claimed Russian forces were preventing a nuclear war. He contended that if Ukraine, with NATO countries’ support, succeeded in its counteroffensive, including if “they seized part of our land,” then Russia would “go for the use of nuclear weapons.” Western leaders have repeatedly warned of the dangers of making such statements.
