CONSTRUCTION

Outer skin is made of Vinylester transparent gelcoat offering the highest resistance to Osmosis blistering and UV. First layers of outer skin are laminated by hand. Further layers are 

impregnated using infusion process to offer optimal resistance and weight control. Under the waterline level, hull is made of closed-cell foam sandwich laminated using Vinylester resin with Quadri-axial E-Glass to offer maximum impact resistance. Above waterline, lamination is made of E-Glass sandwich with Airex® - or similar - high-density foam coring offering high strength, rigidity and lightness glued using infusion process. Hull is painted with three coats 

of Awlgrip® painting in solid or metallic color (metallic being optional) and two coats of protective Awlgrip® clear coats.

DECK AND SUPERSTRUCTURE:

Both are laminated with Vinylester resin - E-Glass with an Airex® core - or similar, using infusion process for optimal resistance strength and weight control. Deck and exterior furniture are painted with three coats of Awlgrip® paint in solid color and two Awlgrip® clear coats.

Structural built-in diesel tank is made of monolithic fiberglass of a minimum 1 cm / 3/8th thickness. 

Hard top is made of carbon fiber/Kevlar mix and Vinylester resin painted with three coats of Awlgrip® paint in solid color. Roll bar is made of Kevlar-carbon composites ant painted in Awlgrip® pastel color.

Stringers are fiberglass cored with closed cells foam.

Headquartered in Rome, Italy, Canados builds luxury, semi-custom composite yachts from 23.46 to 36 meters in length.

A group of master carpenters trained in the centuries-old Italian shipbuilding tradition established Canados in the 1940s on the banks of the Tiber River in Rome. The first craft launched from the shipyard were wooden vessels used by the military, the coast guard, and the local harbour master.

Over the years, Canados began building luxury yachts for its customers. With the advent of FRP technology, the shipyard switched to constructing sleek open and flybridge yachts of composite. Today, their luxury yacht line includes the Canados 76, 86, Open 90 and 120.

Notable Yacht

The year 2012 saw the launch of the first Canados 120 Enhanced model, Far Away , the shipyard’s flagship by a large margin. Canados developed the naval architecture and exterior styling for the 36.33-metre yacht in-house, while Francessco Paskowski Design created the interior design. The Canados 120 accommodates six to eight guests and five crew. Powered with twin MTU 16V 2000 M94 diesel engines, she has a top speed of 27 knots.

Specialisations

Drawing on Italian artisanship, Canados builds its yacht interiors entirely in-house, including the fine woodwork and metalwork. The shipyard will personalise each yacht to suit its owner’s individual tastes.

Company History

The history of the Italian shipyard Cantieri Navale di Ostia began in 1946-m to year when the group experienced carpenters engaged in the construction of wooden boats. All this happened on the banks of the river Tiber near Rome , in the waters of the former military seaplane base. The first vessels were Canados boats for military purposes, patrol boats for the coast guard and captains of the ports. The company gained fame and reputation in Maritime circles that have attracted orders from other countries. In 1953, during the launching of eight patrol boats, a representative of one of the middle Eastern monarchies present at the ceremony, asked the Builder to build him a yacht. Since then, Canados specializiruetsya for the construction of recreational boats and has built over 700 yachts. In 2016, the shipyard >found a new owner, it was the French entrepreneur Michelle Karsenty .

The company's Production site is located at the mouth of the Tiber, just 35 km from Rome centre. Proximity to the sea allows the shipyard to constantly carry out tests in vivo. In addition, the company has access to the longest in the world opytnomu pool located close to the Italian Naval Institute. All-new Canados hull tested in this 500-meter pool.
