The Vector 39- a remarkably well-built and designed boat. Cutter rigged sloop, aft cockpit. Long keel, skeg type rudder. Midship galley and saloon. Solid boat with zero water damage or rot anywhere. Bottom recently painted. New engine, new sole, new toilet. Two brand new custom built 100 gallon water and diesel tanks. Standing and running rigging in excellent condition. Three sets of sails and a new dodger. Saloon Settees (plywood and cushions) need to be replaced as interior refit was started but not completed. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. Despite an excellent pedigree which has its roots going back to the legendary Valiant 40 , the boat and its earlier incarnation are often overlooked. The Esprit 37 was originally introduced in 1976 following the same Bob Perry formula that brought the world the famed Valiant 40. The boat was known for nimble all-round performance, strong build quality, and seaworthiness. The Valiant 39 adds a hefty tubular stainless bowsprit allowing the boat’s cutter configuration to open up its foretriangle, giving enough room for a proper working staysail. Though the original hull molds were used, all new deck moldings were created with a boxy cabin trunk to match the Valiant 42 and Valiant 50.
