• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.

This was the most epic trip. We took our friends and family to Catalina for an amazing day.  Captain Mark was absolutely phenomenal.  He was super fun and accommodating.  He took us around wherever we wanted to go and care of everything. He set up all the toys and made sure we had everything we wanted at all times.  The boat is gorgeous and was spotless.  This was one of the most memorable days ever.  Thank you!!!

We had a super fun full life aquatic day for the Huntington Beach Airshow with fam and friends. Yachting with Captain Mark felt more like yachting with family. Mark has a boating CV that is lifelong, outstanding professional experience with a penchant for safety. That said; it was max fun knowing we were in great hands and enjoyed the day with blue skies, blue water and a high caliber Airshow out in the ocean.  I even brought my father whom recently turned 79. We chartered the Aperitivo for my daughter’s 15th birthday. Mark the Captain made us all feel comfortable and safe. His experience and knowledge of the ocean were very apparent. Everyone had a great time swimming, hanging out on the swim float, and paddleboarding. I had no idea how fast 4 hours could go by. The kids all had a blast and were very grateful of their time on the water. If you’re in the Newport Beach area and want to spend some quality time on a luxury vessel, then book this boat. Newport International Boat Show set for Sept. 12-15. What to know.

NEWPORT – The Newport International Boat Show will take place Sept. 12 to 15 at the Newport Yachting Center Marina.

The Newport International Boat Show spans over 15 acres with six connecting show sites within historic downtown Newport, according to a news release. Visitors can walk the docks and view a spectacular display of new sailboats and powerboats, some making their debut in the United States. This year there’s an acre of even more boats to see throughout show, including a brokerage basin, with both power and sail boats ranging up to 110 feet now on display for the first time. On the land side, visitors will find hundreds of marine products, services and accessories to enhance the boating lifestyle.

Educational presentations and tech talks

Also on deck are the Cruiser’s Classroom, located Below-Deck at the Hammetts entrance to the Show, an educational experience featuring interactive presentations covering an array of marine-related topics such as boating, fishing, safety, boat maintenance and financing 101. Tech Talks are hands-on technical training classes for boaters of all experience levels led by American Boat and Yacht Council expert and Boat of the Year judge Ed Sherman (registration in advance is required for this course as seating is limited).

New models on display

As the kickoff for boat show season, many exhibitors launch new models for the first time in the U.S. at this show. Keep an eye out for the red and blue Newport for New Products Awards Program decals and burgees indicating each boat or product entry. Industry experts will judge each entry on opening day and awards are given in several categories. All winners will be announced Friday, Sept. 13. This year the program is featuring more than 40 new product and boat debuts, both power and sail.

The Windward VIP Lounge

New for this year, the show is offering an exclusive experience with the Windward VIP Lounge, a private oasis with views of Narragansett Bay and the ocean sounds of an active waterfront. It includes a premium open bar, gourmet food served all day, private restrooms and a place to relax and lounge, indoors and outdoors, and daily must-see pop-up activations.

Craft cocktails, chowder, burgers and more

The Bohlin Tent, located at the end of Commercial Wharf, is a place to take a pause to enjoy music and a variety of offerings for sale like Dillon’s Small Batch Distillers, Fishers Island Lemonade, Francis Ford Coppola, Newport Craft Brewing, Springline Coffee, Tequila Ocho, Sobieski Vodka, or Via Corota offering craft cocktails. Opening Preview Day is Thursday, Sept. 12, sponsored by Discover Newport and Marsh McLennan Agency, and the ticket price is $40. A One-Day General Admission ticket if purchased now through Sept. 11 is $31 or day-of tickets are $33, valid any one day Friday-Sunday.

Windward VIP Lounge One-Day Tickets  are $275. It is recommended to purchase digital tickets in advance. Digital tickets will be scanned at entry of the Windward Lounge. This VIP ticket is admission to the Windward and is your admission to the show for any one day of the Show. Visitors must be 18 or older to enter the Windward VIP Lounge. Parking and show hours

The best place to park in town is at Easton’s Beach in Newport.  A parking pass is $40  per vehicle and we recommend securing your spot by purchasing online. There will be continuous, complimentary shuttles to and from the show site (only 1.5 miles) from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The show takes place Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12, 13, and 14, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Sunday, Sept. 15, hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Raising Bayesian superyacht ‘will take up to two months’

Salvage engineer who led operation to recover Costa Concordia says cost likely to be around €15m

Raising the Bayesian superyacht from the seabed off Sicily would cost around €15 million and take six to eight weeks, one of the world’s leading maritime salvage experts has said.

Nick Sloane, the South African salvage engineer who led the operation to recover the Costa Concordia cruise ship after it capsized off Tuscany in 2012 with the loss of 32 lives, said around 40 highly-trained divers would be required.

Mike Lynch, his daughter Hannah , Jonathan Bloomer, the Morgan Stanley International bank chairman, and his wife Judy, Chris Morvillo, the Clifford Chance lawyer and his wife Neda and Recaldo Thomas, the yacht’s chef, died when the yacht sank at around 5am on Monday.

A large platform would have to be constructed and towed half a mile out to sea, above the spot where the vessel sank in an intense storm .

The luxury yacht’s aluminium mast – the tallest of its kind in the world when the boat was constructed – would need to be cut off and removed prior to the Bayesian being lifted to the surface.

The floating platform would support giant cranes, which would be able to raise the vessel from a depth of 165ft – but very slowly. 

If the boat is pulled up too quickly, it could break up under the huge pressure of water inside it, Mr Sloane told La Repubblica newspaper.

“This is the most delicate part of the operation and needs to be done very, very slowly, because the Bayesian is full of water,” he said. 

“The important thing is that when the yacht reaches the surface the sea must be calm. So they’ll have to carefully check the weather forecasts. The yacht should be recovered exactly as it is, in one piece, with the aim of maintaining it as intact as possible.”

“I would say it would cost up to €15 million but possibly you could do it for a bit less. The recovery operation would take six to eight weeks. It could be completed before the second half of October.”

Recovering the wreck could help investigators find evidence that could shed light on how it sank in a matter of minutes after being hit by a waterspout or tornado.

Although he was feted in Italy for his successful refloating of the Costa Concordia, the South African stressed that he has not been approached in an official capacity about raising the Bayesian .

Italy has more than enough expertise and technical capacity to carry out the operation, he said. But he has been discussing how the operation might unfold with Italian divers who were involved in the Costa Concordia recovery .

There are parallels between the two wrecks. Italian coast guard and fire service divers exploring the cramped confines of the Bayesian this week as they searched for bodies encountered “a miniature Concordia,” said Luca Cari, spokesman for the Italian fire service.

They could only stay under water for 12 minutes and had to negotiate a pitch-black world of tilted surfaces, floating debris and dislodged furniture , he said.

Italian authorities have so far said nothing officially about when, or even if, the Bayesian will be recovered from the seabed and brought to shore.

The Concordia operation took months of careful planning and dangerous underwater work, whereas bringing up the much smaller yacht would be a quicker operation, albeit still fraught with technical challenges.

The 114,500-tonne Concordia, about twice the size of the Titanic, was eventually towed to Genoa to be broken up for scrap two and a half years after it capsized. The effort to raise and salvage it was the largest operation of its kind ever attempted, and cost around €1.5 billion.
