STATE OF GRACE is ideal for guests who are passionate about sailing. The founder of Perini Navi, a passionate sailor himself, created her to encompass his ideal specifications for a sailing yacht. Innovative Bamar semi-automated sail handling minimizes crew requirements and increases deck space. The optimized hull shape and high aspect ratio centerboard maximize stability while state-of-the-art EC6+ carbon fiber rigging and the Southern Spars carbon Hybrid Modulus mast and boom reduce weight. Combined with low forward waterline angles, these features enable fast cruising and make STATE OF GRACE perfect for regatta charters.

Stylish Interiors

The interior design of STATE OF GRACE creates an atmosphere of minimalistic luxury. Walnut floors with maple inlays, wooden paneling throughout the decks, and pickled oak cladding complement the muted greens and creams of the furnishings. Subtle Asian influences bestow an exotic atmosphere, juxtaposed with contemporary furniture including Ralph Lauren carbon fiber armchairs in a perfect blend of styles. Clever use of volume and light, such as the huge skylight in the main deck, enhances the feeling of spaciousness. The four beautiful staterooms all include en-suite bathrooms, with a gym in the master and the two generously sized doubles and remaining twin accommodate up to nine guests in total.

Outdoor Living & Entertaining

The deck areas are thoughtfully arranged to provide comfortable outdoor spaces without compromising the sailing experience. The spacious cockpit features a detachable Bimini, comfortable seating and convertible tables for relaxed breakfasts or lunches. The formal dining room on the lower level has direct access to the galley, allowing guests to interact with the chef. The extensive outdoor spaces provide plenty of opportunities to remain active, as does the large collection of water toys which includes inflatables, wakeboards, a SeaBob, water skis, kayaks, and fishing and snorkeling equipment.

State Of Grace is a custom sailing yacht launched in 2013 by Perini Navi in Istanbul, Turkey and most recently refitted in 2023.

Credited with a combination of technical brilliance and first class design, Perini Navi has always been in a class of its own. In 1982, unable to find a yacht suited to his personal concepts and ideas, Fabio Perini designed and built the first prototype of what would prove to be the most successful series of large sailing yachts in the world.

State Of Grace measures 39.40 feet in length, with a max draft of 9.10 feet and a beam of 9.13 feet. She has a gross tonnage of 254 tonnes.

State Of Grace has an aluminium hull with an aluminium superstructure.

Her exterior design, naval architecture and interior design is by Perini Navi.

She boasts sailing prowess with her Southern Spars hybrid carbon mast and boom, which is paired with new-generation Perini Navi captive reel winches. Her 17-ton lifting centreboard deploys to a maximum draft of 9.1 m, ensuring incredible stability during cruising, and when raised to 3.5 m, this enables greater accessibility for cruising shallow areas and anchorages.

STATE OF GRACE has accommodation for up to nine guests across one master cabin, two queen double cabins, and one twin cabin (with a pullman). An exceptional full-beam Master Suite offers a large Turkish Hammam steam shower, Therasage massage and shiatsu machine, and direct access to the fully equipped gym area with a Technogym cross trainer, rowing machine, free weights, and exercise bars.

The 40-meter sail yacht STATE OF GRACE is the result of the collaborative efforts. Specifically of Italy’s preeminent sailing yacht builders and New Zealand’s most famous designer.  She is the first in a new series of fast cruising sailing yachts.  The vessel build is by the naval architects of Perini Navi with the input of Kiwi designer Ron Holland.  She boats a sail plan over 1,100 m².  In addition, innovative control systems, a 50m mast, and carbon fiber boom.  Perini Navi yacht STATE OF GRACE impresses.

THE YACHT ARRANGEMENT

So much exceptional thought has been put into the arrangement of sail yacht STATE OF GRACE, especially in her impeccably-finished interiors. She features a split-level salon with lots of space and light.  The layout is perfectly fused with her warm and tasteful décor. Gleaming walnut floors with maple inlay create a natural flow throughout the yacht. The clean, minimalist design has a touch of classical style but is muted by contemporary Italian design accents.

GUEST ACCOMMODATIONS

Accommodations include a full-beam master suite.  In this room are a king-sized bed and ensuite bathroom. The bathroom features a roomy Turkish Hammam steam shower.  The yacht has a unique feature not seen on any similar-sized sailing yachts. It is the master suite’s professional ‘Therasage’ massage bed and shiatsu machine.

Additional wellness yacht charter amenities include a full gym with technogym equipment. In addition, an elliptical cross trainer and Concept Two rowing machine.  Lastly, free weights, and exercise bars. These are all adjacent to the master suite.

GUEST CABINS

There are three additional guest cabins.  In specific, two comfortable double cabins with queen size beds. Important to note is a twin cabin with Pullman berth.  The twin beds can convert into a double. This creates a flexible sleeping arrangement for families and friends.

The spacious Bimini-covered cockpit area offers ample seating and adjustable tables. It is a truly versatile space for entertaining at anchor. Subsequently, relaxing while underway.

A vast selection of watersports toys includes wakeboards and towables. The yacht also boasts a fishing chair with deep sea rods and reels for any fishing enthusiasts.

Finalist for six industry awards, STATE OF GRACE is the result of a winning collaboration with Ron Holland Design and the bespoke tailoring of Perini Navi to provide a high-performance world cruising contemporary sloop for an experienced yachtsman driven by cutting-edge sailing technology. The lifting keep allows the yacht to get much closer to shore in anchorages compared to other similar sized yachts.

Her aluminium hull and superstructure give a displacement of up to 220 tons, new generation Perini Navi captive reel winches hold 12 tons, rewinding 35 metres of sheets per minute. She comes complete with Southern Spars carbon Hybrid Modulus mast and boom, EC6+ carbon fibre rigging controlled from the trademark Perini hemi-spherical helm pod (all controllable by one person) and offers exceptional manoeuvrability.

State of Grace: the first of Perini Navi's 40m Fast Cruising line

The 39.4 metre sailing superyacht State of Grace is one eye-catching and seaworthy yacht. The first in the new 40 metre Fast Cruising line developed by Italian yacht builder Perini Navi in collaboration with superyacht designer Ron Holland, she combines the yard’s strong tradition and pedigree with its commitment to developing cutting-edge sailing technology. On board State of Grace , elegance and performances go hand in hand providing her owner with the epitome of a contemporary sloop built to the highest standard. Despite being available for charter with Y.CO, she remains a very personal yacht and it is evident the layout, features and cosy decoration are shaped according to her owner’s lifestyle.

Wow factors

The peculiar layout of the owner’s suite is a highlight of an otherwise quite classical interior configuration and clearly exemplify the owner’s preferences. A large, private gym is accessed through the owner’s bathroom and a vibrating bed for shiatsu massage is concealed into the closet.

Inspiration

‘I believe very passionately in the importance of sailing,’ says Fabio Perini, founder of Perini Navi. ‘It is because I sailed that I decided to create a boat that would fit my ideal specification. I like to think I am doing my best to make that special time better for those who can afford it.’ He made it possible for minimal crew to handle large yachts thanks to sophisticated automated sail-handling systems. Also a passionate sailor, State of Grace‘s experienced owner followed the construction of his yacht through the various stages towards completion and contributed both technical and stylistic features.

Construction

The yacht was entirely built and outfitted at the Perini Navi Yildiz shipyard in Turkey. Hull and superstructure are in aluminium, which allows the yacht a displacement of approximately 220 tonnes. The state-of-the-art EC6+ carbon fibre rigging combined with the Southern Spars carbon Hybrid Modulus mast and boom provide significant savings in weight. An updated generation of Perini Navi’s captive reel winches can hold 12 tonnes and rewind 35 metres of sheets per minute. The automatic furling system for all foresails are by Bamar and positioned under the deck to optimize deck space.

Exterior styling

State of Grace‘s fetching lines are slimmer than other Perinis of similar size. A 51.8 metre mast by Southern Spars towers over her sleek yet powerful silhouette enhanced by the dark coloured hull and rather modest white superstructure. Astern, the reversed transom hides a wide teak-laid staircase offering access on board via a large swim platform.

Interior design

Perini Navi’s designers have visually borrowed volume and length wherever it was possible to do it, creating the feeling of a much larger yacht. The interior, built by Metrica to Perini’s design, features walnut wood with light maple inlays on the floors, and cabinet frames are clad in pickled oak. Non-reflective ceilings help enhance the sense of spaciousness. The overall feeling is of great functionality and refinement, with no frills or needless embellishments. Exquisite paintings and sculptures from the owner’s personal collection add a touch of luxury to the simple and elegant setting.

The lower saloon (pictured above) has incredible headroom thanks to the split-level design, creating two social areas on the main and lower deck. The dining room, on the lower level, has direct access to the galley, a stainless-steel affair with professional cooking block, which provides a nice environment for the chef to fulfil the owner’s wishes. In addition to the aft master suite, family members and guests are hosted in two VIP cabins and one roomy twin cabin.

Outdoor living

Outdoor living spaces are set up so that the owner and his guests fully enjoy the sailing experience without sacrificing comfort. Thanks to the yacht’s length and a rather small superstructure, there’s plenty of available deck space, and to go from stern to bow is quite a walk. The coamings sweeping around the outdoor living spaces encompass a large cockpit protected by a steel framed awning.

Engineering and performance

A well-balanced length-to-width ratio, a 39.40 metre LOA and a maximum beam of 9.40 metres help makes for a faster yacht. Fine forward waterline angles minimise sailing resistance, while firm amidship sections leading to low-resistance stern lines and a wide transom insure improved off-the-wind speed. The hull shape and a high aspect ratio centreboard maximises windward performance and stability. The tapering and deep semi-compensated rudder, the lead-ballasted keel and the extended waterline all contribute to performance. The lifting keel design gives its important contribution to the yacht’s manoeuvrability, thanks to a position that makes it more efficient and quick to lift. As a result of the keel’s easy lifting system the yacht’s draft quickly goes from 9 metres to just 3.50 metres. The yacht displays a full inventory of Doyle’s high-tech laminated sails for a total surface area of 1,194 square metres. Sail trimming carried out by captive winches and proprietary sail-handling control system were developed by Perini Navi.
