80% of Cape Town’s The Yacht Club apartments sold out

Construction has commenced at The Yacht Club, a unique R1.3 billion mixed-use iconic development by the Amdec Group.

The Yacht Club is superbly located at the gateway to Cape Town’s Waterfront on the doorstep of the city’s historic Foreshore, and a mere stone’s throw from the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).

Amdec Property Development, part of The Amdec Group, is the development manager of The Yacht Club.

Nicholas Stopforth, Amdec Property Development’s MD, says this top-class development will comprise a hotel operated by a leading international brand - which will be announced soon - and modern urban apartment living in two towers proudly set on a podium of premium-grade office space.

“We are thrilled to begin the construction of this landmark project. This year, work will focus on the two basement levels, which will supply generous dedicated parking for residents, workers and guests of The Yacht Club,” says Stopforth.

“The building will begin rising out of the ground from January 2017, and construction will be complete in May 2018.”

Already, with just less than two years before it welcomes its first residents, Stopforth says around 80% of the 170 apartments at The Yacht Club have been sold.

“Its beautiful apartments - with one bedroom, two bedroom, and luxury corner apartments - range from 54sqm to 99sqm,” he says.

“What’s more, as the developers of Melrose Arch, Amdec understands that successful developments go beyond bricks-and-mortar buildings to the quality of lifestyle they offer. Expressing this ethos, The Yacht Club is a vibrant live, work, play environment within a safe, secure and prestigious precinct.”

Stopforth says The Yacht Club apartments have proven particularly popular with investors, who have enthusiastically welcomed the massive potential they represent for long-term leases, as well as owner-occupiers. Many of these buyers are based in Johannesburg.

MARINA & MOORING

RCYC provides 386 block and chain moorings to both members and visitors. All moorings are fitted with fresh water supply, lighting and 220v electrical supply.

The Club offers an 18tonne lift capability, complimented by a hard area which is able to accommodate both long- and short-term repair areas. A Chandlery is conveniently positioned within the hard/lay-up area which can offer both equipment sales and contractual maintenance assistance. In addition to the crane facilities, a 40tonne Slipway can be utilised by the larger vessels if/when required

Vessels more than LOA of 65’ or draft of 3m are to advise the Club prior to arrival. Bookings are required in advance of any visit.

It is understood and agreed that the Royal Cape Yacht Club and employees cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever caused to boats or equipment.

Use of facilities and marina is undertaken at the yacht owner’s/ representative’s/contractor’s own risk.

CONTRACTORS

Contractors engaged by the owner/owner’s representative will be subject to the above indemnity and will make themselves aware of and comply with the safety regulations relating to the use of equipment, scaffolding etc. Contactors will ensure that any spray painting is undertaken in accordance with the regulations in force at the time and that they will protect all surrounding yachts from overspray.
