Columbus yachts have unveiled the design for their new superyacht ATLANTIQUE 65, the latest and largest in the Atlantique range which includes four other versions ranging from 37-55 meters. She presents with harmonious lines and is full of innovative features.

The evolution of the Atlantique range has been incremental and with the 65 version the innovative design focusses on the overall three-dimensional composition to achieve a naturally fluid and coherent shape. The innovation continues with features including an infinity pool that is neither on the main deck nor the aft swim platform. The raised terrace includes a full-height entrance to the aft beach club which allows guests to enjoy the best possible view of the surrounding environment.

“The fundamental idea was to create a volume characterised by great linearity and stylistic coherence, without redundancies, without excesses: an elegant and clean look as if stemmed from a sailboat or a 50s sports car,” explained Enrico Lumini of Hot Lab .

Her helm station has been positioned on the upper deck, allowing for a duplex owner’s suite with three-metre-high ceilings at the bow. The upper level includes an office, walk-in closet and stateroom, while the second is home to a bathroom and elevated sitting room. The suite also benefits from infinite skylights and private access to the bow Jacuzzi.

The main deck owner’s suite is accompanied by four VIP staterooms below deck and a fifth VIP suite on the upper deck giving accommodation for a total of 12 guests. Additionally, there are 10 cabins assigned to the 16 crew members.

Power comes from twin MTU 12v 4,000 M63 engines which deliver a top speed of 17.5 knots, a cruising speed of 14 knots and a range of 5,500 nautical miles at 11 knots.

Eternity is a 65m superyacht of exceptional style. Built by Codecasa in 2010 and refit to superlative standards in 2022, this luxury motor yacht has an experienced crew and is a popular charter option.

Charter — ETERNITY

Stepping aboard, guests are greeted by a spacious aft deck lounge and full-height glass doors that lead through to the main saloon. Taking the central elevator to the upper deck, guests will find an expansive al fresco dining area, spacious formal dining room and versatile space for entertaining.

Further exterior social space is provided by Eternity’s sun deck, which along with cushioned sun pads, a bar counter and stools, offers uninterrupted elevated views. Finally, on the bow, Eternity boasts a large Jacuzzi that doubles as an exercise pool with several current resistance speeds.

Eternity offers accommodation for 12 guests in seven suites, with the configuration comprising a master stateroom on the main deck, four guest doubles and two twin cabins, each with additional pullman bunks.

The master stateroom benefits from a walk-in wardrobe, his-and-hers en suite bathrooms with a Jacuzzi tub, and a private balcony.

Other onboard amenities include the sun deck gym, which is equipped with a Peloton bike and various exercise equipment, and a comprehensive audio-visual system that runs throughout the yacht.

The yacht is decorated throughout with beautiful Bahamian art, which is changed seasonally, and the décor is bright with a casual elegance.

Eternity offers a huge array of watersports toys and equipment, including WaveRunners, SeaBobs, an electric hydrofoil board and Flyboard, as well as an on-water trampoline, inflatable climbing wall and a slide, to send you speeding from the sun deck into the sea.

Eternity carries two jet tenders aboard as standard but can be chartered in tandem with a 53-foot chase boat and 50-foot sports fisher.

Based in the Bahamas at the exclusive Albany Resort , Eternity is ideal for Bahamian island hopping and, offering access to two onshore retreats including the Baha Mar Resort and Casino, providing guests with many complementary options ashore.

SEANNA Motor yacht for sale

SEANNA is an 65-metre (213ft) full displacement tri-deck yacht designed and built by Benetti, and delivered in 2011. She has a steel hull built to Lloyds classification and aluminium superstructure that combines classic Benetti motifs such as covered companionways and streamlined, sculpted mullions with the clean, crisp lines of a modern yacht. The interior design and styling are by Redman Whiteley Dixon and Susan Young.

SEANNA is an 65-metre (213ft) full displacement tri-deck yacht designed and built by Benetti, and delivered in 2011. She has a steel hull built to Lloyds classification and aluminium superstructure that combines classic Benetti motifs such as covered companionways and streamlined, sculpted mullions with the clean, crisp lines of a modern yacht. The interior design and styling are by Redman Whiteley Dixon and Susan Young.

Her exterior highlights include an elevated observation deck above the large sundeck which has an enclosed lounge/dining/party room amidships and plenty of open-air space forward and aft. There’s also a Portuguese bridge with sunpads on the forward coachroof, and two partially shaded aft decks. She also has an indoor/outdoor gymnasium on the lower deck with a hinged wall that folds out to serve as a sea-level terrace and a large beach club in her stern.

The sundeck has an elevated jacuzzi pool up front, plus a forward-facing bar and lounge, and a wide-open space for sun loungers astern. The upper aft deck is spacious with an impressive 14-seat teak dining table as its centrepiece, plus a bar, buffet and several clusters of lounge seating. The main deck aft is another outdoor lounge with its own bar.

Her 1,426GT interior is arranged to host up to 14 guests on board in six double and two twin cabins. Key features of the design scheme include fine Italian leathers, rich walnut veneers and nickel inlays. There’s a grand marble foyer on the main deck and a notably high standard of finish throughout.

The main salon converts to a cinema and there’s a separate TV lounge alongside the formal dining room. She also has a library on the main deck and a massage room with two private beds. The skylounge above is an elegant lounge bar.

All the way forward on the main deck, the master suite includes two full bathrooms, a separate study and a private lounge. There’s also a VIP cabin on the upper deck and five others – three doubles, two twins – down below.

Her main tender is an 8.5m custom built wooden StanCraft speedboat with a 350hp inboard engine and elegant classic lines. She also carries a 7.5m Nouvrania RIB and her inventory of watersports equipment includes a pair of Yamaha Waverunners.

Twin Caterpillar 3516B diesels with a combined 4,522hp give a top speed of 17kts, a 15kt cruising speed and a maximum range at 12kts of 5,000nm. Two pairs of Naiad zero speed stabilisers are fitted.

Motor Yacht

Superyacht Callisto is a testament to intelligent design. Merging classic style with modern flair, the 65 metre superyacht Callisto was launched in 2006 by Feadship in The Netherlands. Designed inside and out by Terence Disdale, with De Voogt Naval Architects working on the engineering and architecture package, Callisto was custom-built to provide everything an owner could ask for while providing a deceptive amount of space.

Her giant sundeck features Jacuzzi, boundless furniture to relax with friends or sunbathe, while her garage offers toys and tenders to get up close and personal with the water. Callisto can also accommodate up to 12 guests in six staterooms, including a full-beam master suite, three double cabins and two twins with en-suite facilities.

Superyacht Shemara: the 65m classic motor yacht is restored to her former glory

The 65-metre superyacht Shemara has been successfully relaunched after a three-year, one million man-hour rebuild project. Originally launched by JL Thornycroft in the UK in 1938, the classic motor yacht Shemara led a colourful life in the public spotlight under her original owners, industrialist Sir Bernard Docker and his wife Lady Norah. Sold at the end of the 1960s, her second owner cruised her for a short period before berthing her in Lowestoft, UK, where she remained largely forgotten for the better part of three decades. Her third owner saw her in the pages of Boat International magazine in 2007, went to see her and instantly fell in love. It was the start of a seven-year journey to bring her back to her former glory.

Shemara was towed to Portsmouth, UK, and hauled out in October 2010. Her new owner set up Shemara Refit LLP to be run by friend and business partner Peter Morton, who then set about recruiting naval architects from BAE along with several subcontractor companies, including Burgess Marine for the mechanical and structural elements, SEC Marine for the electrical installation, Design Unlimited for the GA and Studioilsa for interior design. The ensuing project – lasting three and a half years and taking one million man hours – has seen her reconfigured, refreshed, and largely rebuilt. The result is stunning, retaining her original character but with far superior spaces both on deck and within, and with all mod cons added – including a Rolls-Royce diesel-electric drive train with twin azimuthing pods aft instead of conventional shafts.

Inspiration

As one of the largest private yachts in existence when launched, Shemara epitomised the glamorous lifestyle of the rich and famous. Restoring her to her former glory would prove to be a serious undertaking, but the rebuild has been done sympathetically, retaining the elegance and charm of the original both inside and out while reconfiguring the interior and deck spaces for modern living.

Construction

‘As the boat started to come apart, the level of shell plate renewal and core engineering required for the refit became quite apparent,’ says Nick Warren of Burgess Marine. Much of the steel plate on the hull was rotten, as was the entire stern section. She was meticulously rebuilt using as much of the original steel plate as possible, but with a new underwater profile to aid stability, add a keel and a bulbous bow, and to allow for the azimuthing drives aft. The superstructure was redesigned and rebuilt in aluminium, including the old wheelhouse which had originally been built in brass. The masts were replaced with carbon replicas, and the main funnel was remade in GRP – it now houses the satellite dish. Much of the original material – including the pine plank flooring, the teak decking and the tons of brass – was reused in the rebuilt yacht.

Exterior styling

At first glance you would be hard pressed to spot the difference between the old and new Shemara – she retains the classic, gentleman’s motor yacht lines of the original with just a few tweaks here and there. The upper deck superstructure is slightly longer to allow for the generous upper saloon and day bar, but elsewhere little has changed – the main deck portholes are original, and indeed the hull from the sheerline to the waterline is the original plating. Even the new superstructure was deliberately left unfaired, giving her a real, classic ship feel.

Interior design

A tweak of the interior spaces and GA by Design Unlimited along with inspired interior design from the London based Studioilsa gives Shemara an extraordinary feel inside – contemporary, yet classic. ‘The idea,’ says Ilsa Crawford of Studioilsa, ‘was to make it a home for the owner and his family, albeit a floating one. Too often the interiors of superyachts can feel more like hotels than homes.’ The esoteric mix of furniture works perfectly, and the spaces are wonderful – a giant formal saloon and dining room on the main deck, with an informal upper saloon and day bar that opens on three sides on the upper deck. Guest accommodation, comprising six double guest cabins and a larger VIP on the lower deck, and an owner’s suite forward on the upper deck, is classically comfortable. A new, grand central staircase links the decks.

Outdoor living

While Shemara Refit LLP and Burgess Marine were tackling the technical aspects of the rebuild, Design Unlimited explored the reconfiguration of the spaces. ‘We started developing the exterior while keeping all the character of the original boat, just improving the spaces without going over the top,’ says Design Unlimited founder Mark Tucker. The result is a wonderful array of deck spaces – from the observation deck atop the wheelhouse, to a large sunbathing area aft on the bridge deck, an expansive aft deck with plunge pool on the upper deck and an alfresco dining area on the main deck aft. The sidedecks – particularly on the upper deck – are wide, and reminiscent of the promenade decks of classic liners.

Engineering and performance

The key change was the installation of the Rolls-Royce diesel-electric system. 'She’s quite a low volume yacht to put that equipment in,’ says her current captain, Julian Spier, ‘but the key selling point from the owner’s perspective was the quietness of the system. It’s also efficient and there’s a lot of redundancy. It gives great manoeuvrability and it also allows for a dynamic positioning system.’ The system comprises five main generators that can supply anything from 300kW to over 1600kW depending on mode. The azimuthing pods and new bowthruster allow her to turn almost in her own length. Cruise speed is around 11 knots, with a maximum just over 14 knots.
