From company web site: ANDY WIGGERS, born in Groenlo, Holland in 1950, was the youngest of eleven children. His father, a master of the crafts, owned and managed a local furniture and a wooden shoe factory. This is where he was first introduced to woodworking, a very special skill developed and refined with the teaching of a master. In 1960 the family moved to Canada and settled in the city of Oshawa. After his studies were finished, he sought employment at Whitby Boat Works and was a finish woodworker there. With a short diversion as a home builder in the early seventies, he returned to what he loved then and pursues to this day, ‘woodworking’, as a craftsman extraordinaire. From humble beginnings, providing a mobile service in woodworking repairs and replacements for boats of all sizes, he diligently followed his desired career of choice. As the business prospered, he built a shop, first in Oshawa and later moved the business to his present quarters in Bowmanville where many of his accomplishments have been born. Today, his expertise extends to manage a very talented team of long term employees in all the specialized fields that make a boat building and repair business viable. His list of specialized building is impressive. Notwithstanding partial builds and very drastic upgrades and changes to some very fine yachts, the following is a list of some of the vessels that he built from the start to finish. Nonsuch (Segelboot)

Die Nonsuch sind eine Reihe beliebter Kreuzfahrt-Segelboote, die zwischen 1978 und Mitte der 1990er Jahre von Hinterhoeller in St. Catharines , Ontario, gebaut wurden. Catboat in Ordnung gebracht , sie sind bekannt für ihre solide Bauweise und einfache Bedienung.

Nonsuch , übersetzt als "beispiellos", ist der Name eines Schiffes, das 1584 gebaut wurde. In der Folge erbten viele Schiffe diesen Namen. Die meisten gehörten der Royal Canadian Navy . 1668 waren die Nonsuch und die Eaglet die ersten beiden Schiffe ( Ketch- Typ ) der Hudson's Bay Company .

Mitte der 1970er Jahre bat der kanadische Segler Gordon Fisher den Designer Mark Ellis, ein Kreuzfahrt-Segelboot mit einem anständigen Innenraum zu entwerfen, das jedoch leicht mit einer Hand manövriert werden konnte. Mark Ellis entwarf einen modifizierten Lundstrom-Typ mit einem Ausleger auf einem modernen Rumpf mit vertikalem Bug , geflügeltem Kiel und ausgewogenem Ruder.

Nach einigen anfänglichen Vorbehalten stimmte George Hinterhoeller dem Bau dieser Boote zu. Der erste Nonsuch 30 'rollte im Sommer 1978 aus seinem Laden. Bevor George Hinterhoeller näher kam Januar 1996 Insgesamt waren 975 Nonsuch gebaut worden.

Das ursprüngliche Design der 30-Fußzeile wurde 1984 mit einer anderen Kabinenanordnung unter dem Namen Ultra modifiziert. Zusätzliche Designs wurden in Längen von 22, 26, 33 und 36 Fuß hinzugefügt. Die meisten Boote wurden mit einem zweiteiligen selbsttragenden Aluminiummast (ohne Abdeckung) und einem Aluminiumausleger gebaut. In späteren Booten wurden die Masten aus einem Stück und aus Kohlefaser gebaut .

Nonsuchs werden noch heute von Wiggers Custom Yachts Ltd. in Bowmanville , Ontario, gebaut.

Nonsuchs gelten allgemein als sehr rigoros gebaute und sehr starke Boote, was ihren hohen Wiederverkaufswert erklärt. Tatsächlich wurden zwei Nonsuch, "Serenity" von David Philpott und "Saci IV" von Brian Shelley, auf See ausgesetzt und Monate später schwimmend gefunden. Beide Boote wurden aufgefrischt und fahren noch heute.

Mark Ellis was commissioned to do the design work for this formula, and Hinterhoeller Yachts became the builder. THE PRODUCT WAS THE SERIES OF LEGENDARY NONSUCH BOATS.  The Nonsuch series of boats are generally considered to be very sturdily built boats. In his review, Paul Howard states that two Nonsuches, David Philpott’s “Serenity IV” and Brian Shelley’s “Saci IV”, were abandoned at sea, found floating months later, and were refurbished and are sailing today

Sadly, production of the Nonsuch came to a close in January 1996, when Hinterhoeller Yachts closed its doors.

Hello all, this is my first posting, as a prospective owner. I am looking at a Wiggers built N33, built about 2001. It was a custom boat, at least below. It also has a carbon fiber mast. Below, on the starboard side, there are two seats divided by a built-in divider. The port side has what I assume is the normal C-shaped settee, but instead of the normal table that is set up for dining, but which  can be lowered to form a double berth, there is what appears to be a beautiful coffee table, low and small. I am told that the boat was used only for day sails and racing, so I am assuming this table was meant to provide a setting for afternoon drinks and snacks. I say that because the stove is unused.
