Bay Point Yacht Club, Incorporated is a private not-for-profit yacht club located along the gulf coast in the panhandle of northwest Florida.  The club has 200 members that enjoy spending time sharing yachting adventures and social activities.  Our club welcomes visits by other yacht clubs traveling the Intercoastal from Apalachicola to Pensacola.

The Harbourage Yacht Club is a premier Marina located in Panama City Beach, Fl. Their are many advantages to the slips at The Harbourage Yacht Club. Mainly, the seclusion of the Marina. The security and seclusion does not make the Marina far from the Gulf. Most trips only take 15 Min to get to the Jettys.

St Andrews Bay Yacht Club

Our   mission  

To promote and provide support for the sport of sailing, power boating, water safety, and related activities; as well as provide facilities for its members to share common interests in a social atmosphere of mutual camaraderie, both on and off the water.

The St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club is one of the oldest and most prestigious yacht clubs on the Northern Gulf Coast. The club, which had its first meeting in 1933 in the depth of the Great Depression, was formed by a group of prominent business and professional leaders in Panama City. The first commodore was Major Frank B. Wood. Among the charter members was H. L. Sudduth, developer of the Cove residential area, who donated the land where the clubhouse now stands. The minutes of the organizational meeting in August 1933 indicate that future meetings would be held in the Dixie Sherman Hotel on the mezzanine level until a permanent clubhouse could be built. Other charter members were: M. J. Daffin, later longtime Sheriff of Bay County; Thomas Sale, a prominent attorney who also served as major of Panama City; Harry G. Fannin, a leading banker in town; and A. J. Smith, founder of Panama Machine and Supply Company.

St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club Fire destroyed 90 years of history

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - 90 years of history gone up in flames.

“The memories we all had growing up with our families, that we had with grandparents being in the same place,” said Will Commodore, St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club and former president of the Panama City Rotary Club.

The St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club a home to its members and members of the Panama City Rotary Club.

“The Rotary Club of Panama City was founded in 1937, and we first met at the Old Cove Hotel it just was down the beach or it used to be just down the beach that way,” said Cramer. “Moved to the Dixie Sherman and a number of restaurants throughout our history and then came here in 1991 and [have] been meeting ever since on Tuesdays. This is our home we have been here for 90 years.”

Members of the St Andrews Bay Yacht Club and the Panama City Rotary Club lost more than just the memories they made in this building.

“We had our own rotary bell and our own banners and memorabilia. Everyone has a badge. We’ve had them from people who have been members long into the past,” said Cramer.

The yacht club was, of course, built around sailing, and the history inside is now gone.

“Historical documents from the founding of the club. You’ll notice a lot of the same people who founded Panama City founded the club and lots of nice pictures and events of the club. People who have served as commodore in the past,” said Cramer.

Among the items lost are their prized yachting trophies.

“There are some really special ones there, there is one in particular that’s called a Candler cup donated by Asa Candler Jr. He was an honorary commodore here,” said Cramer.

The community still has the memories shared in the building.

“It’s tough but they are just things. The strength of both the yacht club and rotary club, and of the people the members we will come back stronger,” said Cramer.

They are working as a community to get through it all. Cramer says it is his goal to get members back in the yacht club as quickly as possible.

'A sad, sad day': St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club building burns down Sunday morning

PANAMA CITY − The St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club building on Bunkers Cover Road has burned down. It was among the most historic buildings in Bay County.

According to the St. Andrew Bay Yacht Club Facebook page , the building was empty and no one was hurt. A passerby called 911 about 3:30 a.m. Sunday to report the blaze, and firefighters from the city of Panama City worked tirelessly to put out the flames.

"We have good insurance, and we’ve already filed a claim," the post on the club's Facebook page says. "The Board will be meeting this week to begin the rebuilding process as well as to find ways to keep the Club functioning in some form in the meantime."

The cause of the fire had not been determined as of Sunday afternoon. But the club said the blaze started on the pool side of the building and worked its way east.

"This is a sad, sad day," one person wrote on the Facebook page.

"So sorry to hear about your loss, but I know the club will build back better than ever," another comment wrote.

The St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club is one of the most prestigious yacht clubs on the Northern Gulf Coast.
