Our main criterias to rank the best water toys for a superyacht

sea toys for yachts

The fun factor of the water toy

When it comes to ranking the best water toys for a superyacht, the fun factor of each toy is definitely a top criteria. After all, the whole point of a superyacht is to maximise enjoyment on the water, and water toys are a key part of this equation. From jet skis to inflatable slides, the most exciting and exhilarating water toys are always in high demand among yacht owners and guests alike. But it’s not just about the adrenaline rush: water toys that are easy to use, safe, and versatile can also score highly in terms of fun factor. Whether you’re looking to try something new or simply enjoy the classics, the best water toys for a superyacht are sure to provide hours of endless entertainment and enjoyment.

How much space the toy needs to be stored in your superyacht

When it comes to storing toys on a superyacht, space is always at a premium. Before purchasing a toy, it is important to consider its size and storage requirements. Some toys, such as inflatable water slides or kayaks, can be easily deflated and stored compactly. Others, such as a large jet ski or a motorized surfboard, may require a dedicated storage space on the yacht or a separate garage onshore. It is also important to consider the weight of the toy, as certain superyachts may have weight restrictions or limitations on where toys can be stored. Overall, thoughtful consideration of storage space is crucial in ensuring that all toys can be safely and securely stored on a superyacht.

Who can enjoy the water toy the most

The water toy in question caters to a wide audience due to its user-friendly design and requires minimal physical fitness. It boasts a short learning curve, making it accessible to all ages and skill levels, especially children. Its compact size and lightweight nature guarantee effortless transportation, allowing for exciting outdoor water play for families on-the-go. Its versatility calls for a range of fun activities, including creative watercraft racing and thrilling diving games.

The risk of injuries of the toy

The waters toy on a yacht can pose a significant risk of injury if not used in a safe and responsible manner. These toys are designed to enhance a yacht’s water-based activities, adding an element of excitement and adventure to a leisurely voyage. However, it is crucial to remember that these toys can also be dangerous, particularly if the safety guidelines are not followed. Activities like jetskiing and wakeboarding require a high level of skill and experience, and it is essential to wear appropriate safety equipment like life jackets or helmets. With proper training and attention to safety guidelines, the waters toy can be a fun and enjoyable addition to any yacht trip.

There are a variety of electric surfboards and bodyboards available on the market today, with prices ranging from a few hundred to several thousand dollars. Some of the top brands and models in the market include the Lift Foils eFoil, the Radinn G2X, and the Fliteboard PRO. However, the high cost of these boards, limited battery life, and maintenance requirements are some of the drawbacks to consider. Despite these cons, electric surfboards and bodyboards offer a whole new way to surf and are definitely worth trying out for anyone looking for an adventurous water sport experience.

Sea pools are a fantastic option for yacht owners who want to enjoy the benefits of bathing in the sea without worrying about the risks that come with it. Not only do they provide a safer environment for swimming, but they also provide protection from jellyfish and other sea creatures. Prices for sea pools can vary significantly depending on the brand and model, but they generally range from several hundred to several thousand dollars. Some of the pros of using a sea pool include the ability to control the temperature of the water, the convenience of having a private swimming area right onboard your yacht, and the added luxury that they provide. However, there are also some cons to consider, such as the space they take up on the yacht and the maintenance required to keep them clean and in good condition. Some recommended brands and models to consider include Aqua Lily, Sea Pool, and Ocean Pool. Ultimately, if you’re looking for a way to enjoy swimming in the sea without any of the risks that come with it, a sea pool could be the perfect addition to your yacht.

Inflatable towable toys: a true classic that should be on most yacht toys list

sea toys for yachts

Inflatable towable toys have been a staple for boaters for many years. They are an ideal toy for anyone looking for a fun and adventurous way to spend time on the water. Inflatable towable toys come in a range of sizes and shapes, making them suitable for all ages and abilities. The prices for these toys vary depending on the size, shape, and brand, but they generally start at around $50 and can go up to a few hundred dollars for top-of-the-line models.

There are several pros to owning an inflatable towable toy. Firstly, they are very safe to use as they are made from durable materials that can withstand the elements and rough handling. Secondly, they are easy to inflate and deflate, making them convenient to store when not in use. Additionally, these toys are versatile and can be used for a variety of activities, such as water skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing.

However, there are also a few cons to consider before purchasing an inflatable towable toy. For instance, they can be difficult to transport and store because of their size and shape. Moreover, these toys require proper maintenance to ensure they remain in good condition, which can be time-consuming and expensive.

Some of the most recommended brands/models for inflatable towable toys include Airhead, Sportsstuff, and O’Brien. Airhead offers a range of towable toys suitable for all levels of ability, from beginners to advanced riders. Sportsstuff has a variety of innovative designs that are both fun and functional, while O’Brien offers high-quality toys that are durable and long-lasting.

Scuba diving equipment: a must have on most superyacht charters

sea toys for yachts

When it comes to scuba diving on superyacht charters, having the right equipment is absolutely essential. This gear can be quite expensive, but it’s worth investing in quality items to ensure safety and comfort while diving. The most important pieces of equipment include dive tanks, regulators, fins, masks, and wetsuits. Some of the top recommended brands for these items include Aqualung, Scubapro, and Cressi. It’s important to note that while scuba diving equipment can be bulky and take up a lot of space on board, it’s absolutely necessary for anyone looking to explore the beauty of the underwater world. With the right gear, guests can enjoy the freedom and excitement of diving while feeling safe and comfortable throughout their experience.

Ruckraft tow float/drybag

The idea behind the Ruckraft is simple. You’re anchored off a lovely beach, you fancy a swim ashore for an ice cream and a wander, but you have no way of taking your clothes, towel, phone and wallet with you.

Cue the Ruckraft! Inflated by simply blowing into it (it takes about 30 seconds), what you end up with is a Lilliputian inflatable dinghy.

There is a large (70L/25kg) drybag to swallow all your necessary bits and pieces, or even a tent, which secures to the raft using clips. And it’s available in a choice of colours (orange or yellow) for extra visibility in the water.

GoPro Hero 9

The ultimate action camera

Once you’ve stocked up your tender garage with all these amazing boating water toys, you’ll need something to film your adventures with, right?

Don’t be fooled into thinking all action cameras are the same, we’ve tried a number of different alternatives and none seem to offer the point and shoot simplicity of the GoPro range while still delivering consistently good footage regardless of light and shooting conditions.

They are perfectly suited for shooting on a boat for a number of key reasons. Firstly they are waterproof to 33ft (10m).

Secondly they have exceptional built-in stabilisation which corrects even the shakiest of hands and roughest of rides and thirdly they have ultra wide angle lenses with remarkably little distortion which make even the smallest of cabins look suitably palatial.

Red Paddle Co Compact SUP

Best-selling inflatable paddleboard

An inflatable SUP is a must-have boating water toy these days, but even when packed away a standard one takes up a lot of space on board.

RED’s new Compact SUP is specifically designed to solve that problem. A 10-year programme to develop the world’s most portable SUP has resulted in this new model which packs down into a backpack roughly half the size of a conventional one.

Crucially it claims to have achieved this without compromising the rigidity and stability for which its boards are renowned.

Can’t afford your own submarine? The Geneinno Titan T1 underwater drone is the next best thing…

Back in 2020 we featured the DeepSeaker DS1 four-person personal submarine. However if your toy budget won’t stretch to €1 million for a proper submarine and substantially more for a superyacht big enough to park it on, there are more economical ways to explore the depths without getting wet.

The Geneinno Titan T1 is, according to its manufacturer, the deepest-diving consumer drone fitted with a 4K camera, and the first with a robotic arm.

Kawasaki SX-R stand-up jet ski

The latest SX-R Jet Ski has a top speed of well over 50 knots – if you’re brave enough!

There are two kinds of personal water craft (PWC) – the original stand-up style like this Kawasaki SX-R Jet Ski and the larger sit-down style such as the Seadoo Spark and Yamaha Waverider.

It is these sit-down models which now dominate the market, to such an extent that in 2011 Kawasaki discontinued its stand-up range altogether. The jet ski name lived on as a generic term to describe any form of PWC (it’s actually a Kawasaki registered trademark) but not the product itself.

For six years the line lay dormant until in 2017 Kawasaki launched a brand new Jet Ski called the SX-R – a pumped-up, pimped-up, stand-up model with eye-bleeding graphics and a monstrous 1,500cc four-stroke engine.

Hugo took the chance to test one in 2020, after reading some slightly alarming safety warnings…

Price: $11,599

Fliteboard Series 2

Electric foiling surfboard takes watersports to the next level

We think James Bond would have loved this boating water toy, but if the press release is anything to go by it looks as if the bad guys may have got there first: “Fliteboard has been quietly taking over the world since it launched in 2018” it trumpets.

Putting aside the trivial matter of global domination, we can’t help but marvel at this terrific machine, which single-handedly redefines the concept of cool waterborne running – move over PWCs.

Fliteboard – an electrically-powered hydrofoil which raises the rider approximately 70cm above the water – originates from Down Under and was conceived by former kite-surfing world record holder David Trewern.

He knocked up his first prototypes using a 3D printer (bought from Aldi) and before long was zipping around the bay near his home in Belongil Beach, New South Wales at speeds of up to 45 km/h.

If you’re still not convinced that this is one of the coolest boating water toys to hit the market in years, then check out the video above of Rob and Morgan Wylie crossing the English Channel on Fliteboards in 2021. It’s not just for pros either, this is another boating water toy that’s got Hugo’s personal seal of approval.

Awake Rävik S

This 30-knot electric jet board makes waveless surfing even cooler

The Rävik One and Rävik S are the latest in an exciting line of electric jet boards that can offer endless, waveless surfing. The electric surfboard concept continues to gather pace with two cool looking boards from Swedish brand Awake.

The Rävik One uses an 11kW brushless electric motor to achieve a top speed of 30 knots (9 knots faster than the YuJet and almost as quick as the petrol-powered Jetsurf that we covered in 2020).

MBY editor Hugo Andreae recently tested one, proving that even a surf-sceptic in his 50s can learn how to ride one in just a few hours.

Price: €15,900

It’s long been a contender for the most desirable boating water toy out there, and now the redoubtable Seabob has been given even more grunt by its makers.

Dubbed ‘F5 SR’, this little beauty is the most powerful watercraft in the Seabob F5 series. Its E-Jet Power System delivers a mighty 745 Newtons of propulsive power – roughly two-and-a-half times as much force as a bullet leaving the muzzle of a rifle.

To keep its pilots on the straight and narrow, two rear fins provide stability and help improve manoeuvrability.

Best Yacht Water Toys 2021: Product Review

Nathan Bees

With thanks to EAMS Yacht Tender Center and an army of superyacht captains and crew!

Yacht captains and senior crew are busy people, particularly when the owner is on board or a charter is underway. Downtime is at a premium and they are completely at the service of all those on board. If the owner or charter party make a request then the expectation is that it will be delivered – and quick.

This pressure dictates that captains and stews require lightning quick reactions to ensure they can handle everything that’s thrown at them (and it’s safe to say they have to deal with some pretty bizarre requests). That’s where Yachting Pages – the captain’s bible – comes in.

Our industry-leading search engine has been by the side of captains and crew for more than 15 years, helping them to source the products or services they need. But sometimes what they’re looking for is knowledge, which is where our library of insightful content comes to the rescue.

In our Tried & Tested feature we task industry experts to conduct real-world tests on essential crew products and services, before providing a comprehensive breakdown of their findings.

Water toys are one of those essential products. Popular for the excitement and fun they create, toys are a staple part of life on board – so it’s important for captains to have a flawless knowledge of the best new products on the market.

Yacht toy specialist EAMS Yacht Tender Center joined forces with Yachting Pages and an army of experienced crew in the south of France to review the products that will be trending in 2021. The crew, consisting of captains, officers, instructors, and engineers, each provided scores across a range of helpful metrics that we’ve averaged out to provide an overall result.

In alphabetical order, these are the water toys that have been put to the test.

airBEACH inflatable platform - (4m x 2m x 0.2m) - RRP: c. €3,050

What is the airbeach inflatable platform.

The airBEACH inflatable platform is among the leading products of its style. Offered by Hovercraft, the platform is versatile, particularly easy to use and a great extension of the dive platform for smaller boats. Personalisation is available from the manufacturer too.

airBEACH inflatable platform

  • Good addition to dive platform
  • Easier to launch toys as it sits low on the water
  • Tenders and toys don’t get too close to hull or structure of yacht
  • Nicely finished with good accessibility of attach points
  • Requires a certain level of strength to handle when folded

Ease of use

Fitness level required, size/space required, set-up time, risk of injury, build quality, maintenance freq., cost/value for money, how does the airbeach inflatable platform rate.

There’s no doubting that the airBEACH is well built and purposeful product. It leads many of its competitors in terms of build quality and finish and is exceptionally easy to use. However, it is heavy and fairly difficult to handle when deflated - which isn't dissimilar to a lot of its competitors. It also lacks a fun factor – granted it’s not the platform’s primary objective and it is cheaper than its competitors, but this probably greatly reduces its desirability.

Find on EAMS Yacht Tender Center .

Awake RÄVIK electric surfboard - (1.79m x 0.61m x 0.22m) - RRP: c. €15,900

What is the awake rävik electric surfboard.

  • Battery last short time compared to other toys

How does the Awake RÄVIK electric surfboard rate?

The Awake RÄVIK electric surfboard is likely to be a toy that offers the most enjoyment to experienced riders who can hop straight on and maximise its potential in terms of speed and excitement. Inexperienced riders, who are prone to falling off, may find it takes some time to get used to. A good toy, but there are similar products that offer better value for money.

Electric SipaBoard - (3.35m x 0.8m x 0.14m) - RRP: c. €1,500

What is the electric sipaboard.

SipaBoards are designed to offer an all-round enhanced SUP experience, bringing the outside world closer. Designed to help the rider to explore at his or her own pace away from the yacht, the SipaBoards are quick and easy to use – perfect for the whole family.

Electric SipaBoard

  • Relaxing to use
  • Requires minimal effort
  • Accessible to riders of all ages and levels
  • Low risk of injury
  • Good battery life
  • No wow factor
  • Less fun than other toys

How does the Electric SipaBoard rate?

While the Electric Sipaboard does not offer an adrenaline rush in the same way other the other toys do, it does offer a relaxing on-water experience that is perfect for anyone wanting to explore at their own pace. This makes it a good option for owners or guests who have limited water toy experience.

Fliteboard Air - (1.98m x 0.76m x 0.11m) - RRP: c. €11,000

What is the fliteboard air.

Ever wondered what it feels like to fly? Well wonder no more. A high-quality and modern-looking inflatable board, the Fliteboard Air e-foil is suitable for riders of all experience levels. It boasts almost the double the volume of the standard Fliteboard, making learning even easier – ideal for guests who may only end up using the toy once or twice.

Fliteboard Air

  • Good introduction to foil boarding
  • Easy to get started
  • Fun for all
  • Quiet and smooth experience
  • Expensive - difficult to justify the price

How does the Fliteboard Air rate?

If fun factor is what you’re looking for, the Fliteboard Air might just be the ticket. Ideal for even the novice foil boarder, it’s a toy that is easy to get to grips with and immediately enjoy using. Quiet yet exhilarating, Fliteboard Air is guaranteed fun.

Jet-Boat Tender 3.80 - (3.8m x 2.4m x 0.83m) - RRP: c. €3,500

What is the jet-boat tender 3.80.

The Jet-Boat is exactly what you might imagine: An inflatable boat designed to be pushed by attached to a Jet Ski. The boat can carry up to six passengers who can sit and enjoy a high-speed ride – whether it’s for fun or a practical second tender solution.

Jet-Boat Tender 3.80

  • Great for groups
  • Practical (second tender for smaller yachts)
  • Not great for solo riders

How does the Jet-Boat Tender 3.80 rate?

The unanimous verdict on the Jet-Boat Tender is that while it does offer some fun, particularly for larger groups, its best utilised for practical reasons – it’s ideal as an extra tender. This means it doesn’t quite offer the exhilarating on-water experience that other water toys do, but it’s worth considering for other reasons.

JETSURF Electric - (1.8m x 0.6m x 0.15m) - RRP: c. €12,849

What is the jetsurf electric.

The electric JETSURF board boasts the same DNA as the others in the brand’s range, but with the added benefit of being more environmentally friendly. Fast and with good manoeuvrability, it’s a board designed for thrill seeker. It has a top speed of 31mph and can run for around 35 minutes per battery cycle.

JETSURF Electric

  • Interesting and exhilarating
  • Keeps you coming back for more
  • Boarding system caused injury
  • Hard to stand up unless still conditions or using the tube accessory

How does the JETSURF Electric rate?

The JETSURF Electric is a toy that ticks a lot of boxes, particularly for experienced water toy users. It’s quick, allows you to make sharp turns and has a fun factor that other toys simply do not have.

JETSURF DFi - (1.8m x 0.6m x 0.15m) - RRP: c. €10,349

What is the jetsurf dfi.

The JETSURF Race is exactly what you might think: A powerful race board. Unlike its electric sibling, JETSURF Race has a 2 stroke 100cc engine that has been rigorously tested in the toughest racing conditions, ensuring it provides a powerful performance on the water. It offers staggering speeds of 55 km/h and the ability to make sharp turns.

JETSURF DFi

  • Easy for beginners to get used to
  • Becoming obsolete due to electric boards

How does the JETSURF DFi rate?

There’s no denying that the JETSURF Race packs a punch and for this reason it’s well suited to experienced toy users with the physical attributes to make the most of its capabilities. In truth its old-fashioned use of petrol power makes it stick out compared to most popular boards on the market right now which utilise electric propulsion – and in a more eco-conscious world that’s not necessarily a good thing.

SEABOB - (1.15m x 0.5m x 0.37m) - RRP: c. €8,295

What is the seabob.

The SEABOB is another water toy that propels riders underwater to explore what lies beneath the surface. Providing relaxed gliding and impressive agility thanks to its electric E-Jet Power drive, SEABOBs are an environmentally friendly way of experiencing fun and freedom on the water.

SEABOB

  • Exhilarating
  • Lighter than first-generation SEABOB
  • Easy to use
  • Reasonable risk of injury
  • Not as stylish as competitors

How does the SEABOB rate?

Unquestionably a popular choice of water toy. As with any underwater toy, it’s got a special appeal. It performs well, is easy to use and the latest versions are lighter than earlier models, showing how the product is evolving over time. However, it isn’t as stylish as its main competitor and it’s more expensive. You won’t be disappointed with a SEABOB, but it has strong competition.

Sea-Doo Spark - (2.79m x 1.18m x 1.045m) - RRP: c. €6,600

What is the sea-doo spark.

Jet Skis are almost guaranteed to be great fun to use, and the Sea-Doo Spark is a game-changing PWC (personal watercraft). It’s cheaper, lighter and easy to use as a beginner, making it an accessible and instantly thrilling water toy to get your hands on. Utilising a powerful Rotax 900 ACE engine, Spark promises a fast and fuel-efficient ride.

Sea-Doo Spark

  • Good value for money
  • Solid build
  • Extremely fast at full speed
  • More challenging for less experienced Jet Skiers

How does the Sea-Doo Spark rate?

Small and effortlessly simple to use, the Sea-Doo Spark Jet Ski is a superb water toy that owners and guests alike will love. It’s great to ride, incredibly fast and impossible to get bored of. There may be more challenging Jet Skis to use if you’re an experienced rider, but the Spark is an ideal entry-level toy.

Waydoo Flyer One - (1.68m x 0.7m x 0.11m) - RRP: c. €5,842

What is the waydoo flyer one.

A water toy that offers riders the ability to fly, the Waydoo Flyer One takes advantage of everybody’s inner superhero. Lightweight, emission-free and easy to set up, the Flyer is a pacey and exciting e-foil, particularly for experienced riders.

Waydoo Flyer One

  • Exciting and enjoyable to experience
  • Not for beginners
  • Difficult to get upright
  • Matting caused grazing

How does the Waydoo Flyer One rate?

For an experienced rider, the Waydoo Flyer One guarantees great fun and a genuine feeling of flying. However, not every guest will be an experienced rider. For beginners it is not an easy toy to get used to and maximum enjoyment from. The time required to get a handle on how to use it is not conducive to anyone who is only experiencing a short stay on board.

The best water toys for your superyacht

sea toys for yachts

Fun, fun, fun

sea toys for yachts

No superyacht is complete without a large collection of water toys. They add to the fun of the journey and the guests love them. From the inflatable slides to the Jet Ski and even maybe a submersible, the water toys cover every single angle of water fun.

So, what can we find in the belly of a superyacht?

1. Inflatables toys

No yacht should set sail without some inflatable toys on board. They are crucial for some water fun.

For safe swimming free of jellyfish, the sea pool can be deployed in the sea beside the yacht. It provides a safe swimming area by allowing sea water into the pool through a net, designed to stop any unwanted sea creatures.

Yacht slide

One of the most popular inflatable items is waterslide. Usually they are custom made to fit perfectly on the yacht.

The Zorb is a little more unusual item. It's basically an inflatable orb, used to waking on water.

Another popular item, the Blob is a large rectangular tube filled with air. The guests jump onto a spot marked with an X and the force will propel anybody sitting at the other end up to 10m in the air.

2. Watersports

The watersports items are also very popular on any superyacht. So, it's almost certain to find a few boards of some kind stashed into the garage.

Kitesurfing

Kitesurfing and kiteboarding are the most popular wind-powered watersports. They combine aspects of wakeboarding, windsurfing, surfing, paragliding and gymnastics into one extreme sport.

Windsurfing

The classic use of a board and wind power. It provides great physical and technical challenge and it still very popular

SUP stands for Stand-Up Paddleboard and it's one the fastest growing watersports. It's easy to do and very accessible for anyone to get into.

Canoe / Kayaks

Great for exploring shallow waters, canoes and kayaks provide a safe way to get away from the yacht. There are a lot of varieties: rigid kayaks, inflatable kayaks, Canadian canoes and even kayaks with clear floors that allow enjoying the marine life beneath.

Wakeboarding/ Waterski

So many different ways to ride behind a powerful boat and having loads of fun.

3. Powered toys

This is the most popular water toy. Brands like Seadoo, Yamaha or Kawasaki are providing a wide range of Jet Skis. Models range from the single person stand up jetski to the three-person watercraft.

Seabobs are high-performance electric watercrafts that allow the user to ride on the surface and underwater at speeds up to 20 kph. The battery allows for four hours of usage.

Jetlev flyer and flyboard

Different kinds of the same device, both use the power of water thrust to propel the rider into the air for some serious stunts.

Electric powered surfboards

Imagine a surfboard that can take you almost anywhere. Powered by small, but powerful electric motors, these boards are fast, agile and lightweight due to carbon fibre construction.

Seabreacher

The ultimate driving machine is a mechanical fish that can jump, dive and roll, while the guest enjoys the comfort of a dry, sealed cockpit. The Seabreacher operates more like an aircraft with full three-axis of control.

4. Personal mobility

Cruising aboard a superyacht includes also some port calls. And there you'll need some form of mobility. This is why some superyacht keep in the garage electric transporters like the iRider or electric scooter, bikes or skateboards. Some have even real motorbikes. Or quads.

A good mix between water fun and land transport is offered by the Quadski, an amphibian quad that can retract its wheels and enter the water like a true Jet Ski.

5. Underwater fun

Of course, no superyacht is complete without some gear for underwater fun.

Scuba diving and snorkeling equipment is a must if your guests want to explore the local marine life.

ROVs or Remote Operated Vehicles is an alternative if you don't want to get you feet wet. The ROV can dive up to 300m and send back video images.

The ultimate luxury in the world of diving is the personal submarine or submersible. There are a lot of options in this area with units which dive form 50m to over 1,000m.

What’s better than spending warm summer days on a superyacht ? Spending them on a superyacht with a large selection of the latest water toys ! To have even more fun while cruising the open seas , choose the best gadgets that add a sense of adventure to your hedonist escapade. From pretty tame options to thrilling ones only reserved for the bravest of yachting aficionados , here are the best water toys to enjoy some fun and frolics on your next luxury cruise .

Sea Bobs with GoPro camera

If you’ve ever wanted to move through the sea bed just like a dolphin, this electric vehicle provides you with that privilege in the most exciting way. Quiet, fast, and environmentally friendly, Sea Bobs can help propel you up to 40 meters in depth so that you can explore aquatic life in the most electrifying way. Set the maximum speed and start your next crazy adventure - what’s best, many models have the added perk of filming your journey with a Go-Pro camera. If you consider yourself easily bored and always in the search of the next thrill, a Sea Bob is a must-have water to y that will change how you perceive diving forever. The electrically powered scooter lets you glide or dig dip into the azure depths with a top speed of 22km per hour.

Kymera Body Boards

This electric bodyboard lets you ride across the surface of the water with a motor and is more affordable than a Sea Bob, but just as fun. The Kymera Body Board was the world’s first electric jet-propelled bodyboard to be released. It can launch a rider at 30 km per hour, providing a boost of adrenaline for those looking for a fast way to explore the seas.

If you think that it requires a lot of skill to operate one, you’re wrong. The only requirement is height - anyone taller than 150 cm can ride one, as this is the easiest of all jet boards to use.

No experience is necessary and you’ll quickly grasp a sense of how to operate it. Just use your legs as rudders and let your lower body weight manoeuvre the Body Board . An excellent toy for those who’re not exactly experts on standup boards, but would love to be - a Kymera Body Board is stable and pretty reliable considering the speed it provides.

Water Slides

Turn your yacht into a water park with just one gadget! A water slide is an inflatable water toy that will keep all guests regardless of age entertained. The fastest way to feel like a kid again, water slides are often custom-made for superyachts , and the hang of decks to let the lucky voyageurs slide into the limpid seas within seconds. Depending on the size of your boat, you’ll find different models, from lightweight options made for yachts with a rail height under 5 meters to non-supported slides for those that are up to 12 meters in height, to the most exciting option made for the largest of boats that have curves that will make you dizzy while entering the seas. Easy to use, and very safe, a water slide will provide plenty of fun for all guests - especially the youngest charterers.

Anti Jellyfish Pools

If you’re travelling with little ones or going to a place notorious for a large number of jellyfish, these pools will spare you a lot of stress and trouble and prevent any accidents caused by an annoying sting. Thanks to a weighted net, they stop medusas from entering your designated swim area. Relax and go for a dip without worrying about these little annoying creatures. Some jellyfish can even be deadly, so this is not only a fun toy to have but a responsible choice when going to locations where the risk is high. Attach it to the back of your boat and continue your day without a single worry!

If swimming and diving are no longer too entertaining for you, your next move could be flying over the water . The sky's the limit and there’s no reason to stop exploring - the flyboard lets you propel above the seas like an eagle. This hydro flighting device will take you up to 22 meters above the surface. All you need to do is stand on a board that is connected by a long hose to the watercraft - you’ll have an experience that is like nothing you’ve tried before.

Invented in 2012 by Franky Zappata, a watercraft rider from France who was looking to create a gadget that allows you to be fully stable in the air by underfoot propulsion and hand stabilization.

Not a sport for the faint of heart - the flyboard is reserved for the most daring guest , who’s looking for an adrenaline boost like no other. It attaches to the user similarly to a wakeboard and it’s advisable that the instructor monitors your moves and adjusts the power to match your comfort level. A new extreme sport that is just gaining momentum, flyboarding is the next trend for adrenaline junkies . Be one of the first to try it out and have wild fun on your next luxury cruise.

Electric surfboards

Do you love surfing? Imagine if you weren’t dependent on waves and could surf anywhere and anytime! It can be quite annoying when you plan your vacation the entire year and the wind conditions don’t allow you to practice your favourite sport. With an electric surfboard , that concern is a thing of the past. Used for gliding over the water while reaching unimaginable speeds without the need for waves, this device is powered by a lithium-ion battery, activating the jet when pressing the ¨trigger”. Motorized surfboards allow you to enjoy nature without being dependent on it - surf anytime and anywhere !

It’s not recommended for those under the age of 16 and they usually have a weight limit - these are water toys that are only aimed at those who have some surfing experience under their belts.

Submarine

There are so many water toys on the market these days it makes it kind of difficult to narrow down the selection of the gadgets to equip your garage with. Yet, some never go out of style. A submarine allows you to explore “under the sea ” in absolute comfort.

From Aston Martin models to Robo Sharks, today’s luxury submersibles are better than ever and have state-of-the-art technology for an incomparable adventure at sea. If you think that they’re only available on the longest superyachts, you’re wrong - there are mini versions today that can be easily stored in the garage without taking too much space.

The Seamagine Aurora 3C is only 3 meters long and can take you almost 500 meters deep. It’s easily operated from a yacht and welcomes two guests and a pilot. The perfect way to explore the mysteries of the underwater world, submarines are the ultimate water toys ideal for those who love visiting shipwrecks or admiring the secrets of the lush aquatic life.

Jet Ski

Who can even imagine a cruise without a jet ski ? This fun watercraft that was first designed by Kawasaki in 1972 has become an essential component of a luxury yachting experience.

Providing the excitement of riding a motorcycle but with the added perk of azure surroundings, Jet Skis are the fastest way to get around and are used for a multitude of purposes. Although many call any personal watercraft a jet ski, it is actually a brand-specific name. Other options include Sea-Doos by Polar Industries and Wave Runner by Yamaha.

The fastest of the bunch can go 160 km per hour, turning the crystal bays into your own race track. New trends in the industry include electrically powered watercrafts such as the Nikola WAV that provide an instantly available torque and a thrilling speed of 96 kph, with the bonus benefit of being very eco-friendly. With LED lights, a touch screen, and a sensor suite, this new PWC presents the latest advancement in the industry and spectacular addition to any superyacht.

Nuclear globe

Ever wanted to walk on water ? Well, now you can! The super-fun ball lets you make your way around water as fast as you want, thanks to an exterior surface with hundreds of inset cups to help you grip the surface of the sea . Made from heavy-gauge PVC, the nuclear globe has two openings that allow the enthusiasts to enter or exit, and can support up to 80 kilos. and an included rope and tie-down grommets.

Inflatable Toys

Amazing toys that won’t take up too much space in a garage but still provide amazing fun in the sea, inflatable toys are a wonderful addition to any yachts’ equipment . From bananas, donuts, and sofas to the super-exciting blobs that propel guests up to 10 meters in the air, inflatable toys are a fantastic way to make the most out of your sea vacation. Explore the shallow waters with an inflatable kayak or have fun with your kids on a trampoline - the options are endless and good times are guaranteed!

Sea-Doo Rise hydrofoil board

The best foiling water toys for your toybox

If you're looking to upgrade your yacht's toy box, you will want to invest in a foiling water toy. There are plenty to choose from, including electric surfboards, seated hydrofoiling watercraft and foiling bicycles. BOAT rounds up some of the best...

Fliteboard Flitescooter

The new offering from Australian brand Fliteboard democratises the foiling board, making it easy for everyone to feel the thrill of flying over the water. Stationary handlebars provide balance so that even beginners can learn how to use the board in minutes. It’s also a quiet and more eco-conscious alternative to a jet ski.

fliteboard.com

Electro Nautic WaveFlyer

Why foil alone when you can fly above the water with a friend? The WaveFlyer is an auto-stabilising, semi-autonomous, electric hydrofoiling watercraft that seats two. Powered by twin electric motors, the craft is perfect for environmentally friendly exploration because it’s nearly silent and produces zero wake and no emissions.

electronautic.com.au

Manta5 Hydrofoiler SL3

With a hydrofoiling bike, the water becomes your road. Manta5 turned heads with its original foiling electric bike, but its new SL3 promises to be a game changer, cutting the average learning curve down from three hours to just 40 minutes. An easy-mount chassis, pitch-perfect tiller and throttle-only launch (no pedalling needed to start) mean it’s easy to hit the open waterway.

Awake Rävik S

Dubbed the “most extreme electric surfboard in the world”, the Rävik S by Awake is designed for experienced riders who want to go faster and jump higher than ever before. Yacht toys on a charter  see your exclusive floating paradise extended to an entire oceanic playground. Whether it’s zipping through the open waters on a jet ski as a sea breeze hugs your skin, or admiring nature's finest below the surface on a Seabob adventure, water toys certainly enliven any yacht charter vacation. But which stands out as the best to have onboard? From wakeboards and slides to paddleboards and hydrofoils, here's our pick of the best water toys for the ultimate yacht rental experience.

People using seabobs

Ease of use

From leisurely gliding through the water like a dolphin to speeding through them for an adrenaline-seeking rush, a Seabob provides ultimate maneuverability at sea. It's an exhilarating, eco-friendly underwater experience (thanks to its E-Jet Power drive, using 100% electric propulsion) that can see you dive meters under the surface. Taking diving to a new dimension, they are incredibly easy to use: a light pressure on the handlebars allows you to steer the Seabob with great agility, only requiring you to gently shift your body to change direction.

Your crew will gladly be on hand to show you the ropes before you set off.

A Seabob provides ultimate maneuverability for subaquatic excursions

Jet ski sea doo

Powering through the waves on Sea-Doo is a spine-tinglingly fun way to spend a sunkissed afternoon. One one of the most sought-after watercraft brands on the markets, a Sea-Doo is a type of jet ski particularly well-suited to beginners, and ticks all the boxes for the most avid thrill-seekers, It's best for older teens and above.

Before you begin your ride, you will be given clear instructions beforehand by a fully-trained professional on your charter.

Electric on-water bikes

sea toys for yachts

If you think cycling on land is fun, wait until you try cycling on the open ocean. A ride on an electric hydrofoil bike will make you feel like you’re effortlessly gliding above the water’s surface and allows you to get a stimulating cardio workout while enjoying the panoramic views of your chosen yacht charter destination.

The bike boasts a modular design that allows for quick assembly and lets you easily adjust the level of rider input from manual mode to pedal-assisted, making it the perfect water toy that suits a range of capabilities.

Reaching a top speed of 12mph, you can take your love of cycling to the next level as you glide through the water of your favorite cruising ground.

Water slides

Woman going down water slide on a yacht

Offering a vitalizing rush into the shimmering blue in mere seconds, charter yachts with a water slide onboard take you from sundeck to sea in a flash. An all-around favorite, water slides delight both the young (and the young at heart!), and are especially popular with family yacht charters. It's not hard to see why: adults can unwind in the Jacuzzi and enjoy some much-deserved R & R, whilst little ones have hours of fun splashing on the slide under the watchful eye of crew. A good night's sleep for all is practically guaranteed.

Offering a vitalizing rush, a water slide on a charter yacht takes you from sundeck to sea in a flash

submarine yacht toy for luxury yacht charters

Built to accommodate up to one to six guests and tailored to fit the weight and height restrictions of a superyacht tender garage, a personal submarine is the ultimate water toy for those looking to explore the magical underwater world. Versatile, smart, compact and lightweight, submarines allow everyone on board to see the hidden secrets of the deep with perfect clarity.

Safe and comfortable, your submarine dive will be controlled by an experienced and trained professional on your yacht charter who will be able to show you extraordinary underwater sites only a few lucky people get to witness. So, all you need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride.

More than 80% of the world’s oceans remain unexplored but discovering the depths is a lot easier than some may think when you have a personal submarine at hand.

Paddleboard

Woman paddleboarding

Paddleboarding , also known as SUP (stand up paddling) is a blissful way to experience the sea in an entirely new light, lapping up the natural splendor of your surrounds in total tranquility. Easy to master for all ages, it's a gloriously serene activity to do with friends or family. Gliding through lush lagoons, peaceful coves and illuminated caves at your own pace on a paddleboard is a must-do during any yacht charter.

Electric Foil Surfboards

Man using an electric foil surfboard gliding through the water during sunset

Designed to surf anywhere, even when they’re no waves, an electric surfboard creates endless hours of fun on the water. Allowing you to surf in style on virtually any body of water by motorizing your board and jetting you through the water.

Providing you with a lightweight, fast and long-lasting ride, the electric surfboard is propelled like jet skis and most have hydrofoils that lift the board over the water. Perfect for thrill and adrenaline seekers, the surfboard is powered by a high energy density lithium battery that is installed to the board and accelerated by the hand remote control which is wire connected to the front of the surfboard.

Don’t worry, before you begin your ride, you will be given clear instructions beforehand by a fully-trained professional on your charter.

An electric surfboard will provide you with one of the coolest and most adrenaline-fuelled water sports experiences that can be enjoyed despite flatwater conditions.

Yacht charter flyboarding

Daredevils, this one is for you. If you thought darting through the ocean on a jet ski was the ultimate fast-paced watersport, then you absolutely have to give a flyboard a go. Strap on water-jet power boots and be rocketed up to 12 meters into the air for an unrivaled buzz at sea.

Flyboards can provide a high-powered kick for when leisurely bronzing on your sundeck starts to tire, but its not a water toy we strongly recommend for beginners or children. These are best suited to experienced watersport aficionados, as finding your balance whilst hovering above the waters is no easy feat, even if is an incredible feeling once mastered.

You won't be alone to get to grips with using a flyboard: a trained crew member will give you a thorough safety briefing on usage before soaring.

Woman wakeboarding

Skimming through the waves on a wakeboard  as you are pulled at speed behind the yacht's tender is a fine art that can take a few tries before fully excelling. But once accomplished, the joy of whizzing and performing tricks out on the glittering seas will see you return to wakeboarding again and again. Teens and adults alike will adore taking this seatoy out for a spin, but it will require a brief safety briefing from a crewmember prior to testing.

Windsurfing

Man windsurfing

Embrace the power of the wind with windsurfing, with the required equipment featuring on many a yacht rental. For watersport enthusiasts keen to add to their repertoire of sea activities, a spot of windsurfing should satisfy, but it will certainly require some training sessions prior to venturing out into blue. This can easily be arranged on your yacht charter — a member of your crew will be able to assist you so you can glide through the waves with ease in no time at all!

Trampoline on a yacht

Bouncing to your heart's content on an inflatable trampoline is a sure-fire way to have some fun on your yacht charter — and we aren't just talking about the kids! A common feature many yacht rentals, these can range from 15-25ft and can easily be attached to a raft of inflatables to form your very own private waterpark. Easy to use (just jump!) they usually come with steps to ensure comfortable access in and out of the water. A fantastic way to entertain the energetic on your yacht charter vacation.

Interested?

Interested in one of the above water toys on your next yacht rental? Please consult your chosen yacht broker about the yacht toys you would prefer to have, as they will be able to select vessels that match your desired selection. Not all yacht charters will necessarily have your preferred toy choices but can be arranged beforehand, which is why it is essential to inform your broker about your preferences before booking.
