Motor Yacht

Motor yacht Ocean Emerald, built in 2009 by Italian shipyard Rodriquez Yachts, is a modern superyacht whose unique contemporary design makes her truly distinctive. With an aluminium hull and superstructure, the eye-catching 41 metre vessel features design by Norman Foster and can accommodate up to 12 guests.

The first launch from the fractional ownership company YachtPlus, motor yacht Ocean Emerald is also the first in a series of identical superyachts to be built by the company over the next two years. The remaining three are currently under construction and will follow a similar naming pattern, with the next two sister ships to be called Ocean Pearl and Ocean Sapphire.

YachtPlus 40 Signature Series The superyacht is part of the YachtPlus 40 Signature Series, whose unique design came after 15 months of planning by the architects at Foster and Partners. The superyacht was designed to make the most of both space and light while offering a flexible way of life with a focus on family life. The concept resulted in a layout that offers her passengers up to 30 percent more exterior and interior space than any other yacht in her class.

With indulgence spread over four decks, everything from cutlery to crew uniforms has been planned to the last detail on this vessel. Mirroring her external characteristics, her interior features contemporary style and attractive technological advancements with most rooms sporting floor-to-ceiling windows.

Deck Arrangement Each of the motor yacht’s four decks is connected by a spiral transparent glass staircase that allows each space to be filled with natural light.

Sun Deck Crowning Ocean Emerald is a generous sun deck with ample space for sunbeds, a bar and storable gym equipment, all of which is shaded by a retractable hardtop bimini.

Upper Deck The upper deck saloon exhibits the feel of an authentic beach hut with its coconut husk fibre flooring and forward-looking views. Adjacent can be found a cappuccino bar and games station. From here, guests can head outdoors for al-fresco dining.

Main Deck The saloon on the main deck includes loose-standing furniture to allow for complete flexibility and a home cinema whose massive screen is cleverly hidden in the ceiling.

Lower Deck Aside from hosting the guest accommodations, the lower deck hides a tender garage that easily stores two Jet Skis, a rescue boat and tender.

Accommodations Amongst her five cabins are an indulgent owner’s suite; two VIP suites; and two guest cabins. Located on the main deck, the owner’s suite boasts his and hers private balconies and glazed full-length windows either side that make the most of stunning sea views. The lower deck houses the aft VIP suites and forward guest cabins.

Lighting A particular highlight of Ocean Emerald’s contemporary design is her state-of-the-art lighting system which includes scene-setting ceilings. These fixtures allow the mood of each room to switch between bright beach house and sultry lounge depending on the passengers’ desires.

OCEAN PEARL Yacht for Sale

OCEAN PEARL is a seaworthy long-range yacht known for her wide beam and classic Christensen lines. Recently, the vessel came out of the shipyard after having her port engine fully rebuilt. The propellers and shafts were removed, balanced and tuned to ensure a smooth ride. OCEAN PEARL won the 2007 IYBA Mega Yacht of the Year award and is considered in better condition than when she was new.

The yacht features an elegant, welcoming, and comfortable interior. The main salon and dining area have large windows on both sides, and the wood paneling and trim are of beautiful medium-dark mahogany. Guests can relax and entertain in the comfortable seating area with two couches, two armchairs, a large TV, and a cocktail table. The formal dining area can seat ten guests, and there is a wet bar with a sink, refrigerator, wine cooler and icemaker to starboard. The galley is located on the port side of the main deck and has an L-shaped settee dining area, large opening windows for natural ventilation and a door to the side deck.

OCEAN PEARL has accommodations for up to 11 guests across four cabins, including a midship master stateroom with a king-sized pillow-top mattress, a cedar-lined closet, and an adjacent cabin that can be opened to create a full-beam suite. The VIP queen cabin has a queen-sized pillow-top mattress, cedar-lined hanging lockers, and an ensuite bathroom with a large tub enclosure with a shower and vanity with a single sink. The guest port stateroom cabin features a queen-size berth with a pillow-top mattress, a single Pullman berth, and an ensuite bathroom with a single sink vanity and stall shower. The guest/children's stateroom can sleep four people across two twin bunks and two Pullman berths, with an ensuite bathroom featuring a single sink and stall shower. The crew area is forward of the pilothouse and includes a captain's cabin, two crew quarters with over/under single bunks and ensuite bathrooms, and a crew galley and lounge.

The exterior decks of OCEAN PEARL are spacious and well-equipped for entertaining and relaxation. The cockpit is a protected area suitable for fishing, entertaining, or sunbathing, with larger storage lockers and three deck hatches for easy access to the steering gear and ample storage space. The California deck is fully protected with a removable isinglass enclosure and plexiglass doors leading to the side decks. The flybridge features two comfortable settee areas, a six-person hot tub, and a full-service bar with an icemaker, refrigerator, and BBQ. There are also lockers with extra refrigeration and freezer space. The boat deck area has removable chocks for a tender and two WaveRunners, and kayaks and stand-up paddleboards can be stored on top of the hardtop. The foredeck has a large sunpad and cushioned bow seat, making it a comfortable gathering area.

OCEAN PEARL's four staterooms are almost equal in size, making for an ideal charter configuration. If desired, the master stateroom can be modified to be a full beam cabin with ensuite study.

The salon is very generous with large windows on port and starboard sides. The wood paneling and trim is of beautiful medium dark mahogany.

The salon is accessed from the California deck and serves as a comfortable entertaining and lounging area. There is a large TV, cocktail table and comfortable seating on two couches and two armchairs. 

The formal dining area is forward of the salon with seating for ten guests. To starboard is the wet bar with sink, refrigerator, wine cooler and ice maker. Forward of the dining area is a large China cabinet with ample storage.

The country kitchen style galley is on the port side main deck between the dining area and the pilothouse.

The galley is furnished with an L-shaped settee dining area, large opening windows for natural ventilation and a door to the side deck. This area has a light open and airy feel with teak hardwood flooring. This is a natural gathering spot for friends and family.

Master Stateroom

The master stateroom is midship to starboard on the lower deck. It is furnished with a centerline king-sized pillow top mattress, cedar lined closet, abundant drawer and cabinet space. The ensuite master head features a large tub and shower, two sinks and a separate redwood infrared sauna. It is possible to open the master into the adjacent cabin to make a full beam suite.

Vip Stateroom

The VIP queen cabin is midship to port on the lower deck. Furnishings include a queen-sized pillow top mattress, ample drawer storage and cedar lined hanging lockers. The ensuite head features a large tub enclosure with shower and vanity with a single sink.

Guest Staterooms

The guest port stateroom includes a queen-size berth with pillow top mattress and a single Pullman berth. The stateroom features ample storage and cedar-lined closets. The ensuite head features a single sink vanity and stall shower.

The guest / children’s stateroom features two twin bunks plus two Pullman berths to sleep four with storage and cedar-lined closets. The ensuite head features a single sink and stall shower.

Captain's Quarters

The captain’s cabin is forward of the pilothouse and to port and features a double berth, ensuite head with stall shower.

The crew area is forward of the pilothouse. Down the stairway, on the starboard side is the laundry room with two sets of large front-loading washers and dryers. 

Forward midship is the crew galley and lounge with entertainment system and stereo. The galley features a large single stainless-steel sink, Corian counter tops, microwave oven and large refrigerator/freezer.

There is ample seating with a helm chair and spacious settee. Port and starboard doors lead to the side decks with steps leading forward to the crew area forward and steps to the flybridge aft.

The flybridge is accessed by the spiral staircase ascending from the California deck or from the pilothouse. There are three steering stations on this deck, port and starboard sides and at the back of the deck giving great visibility in tight spaces. The 4000lb hydraulic davit is mounted centerline at the aft deck allowing maximum reach on deck and port / starboard sides.

There are two comfortable bridge settee areas. One of the settees is protected under the hardtop and the other is on the open deck.

Just aft of the bridge enclosure and hardtop is a six-person hot tub and full-service bar with icemaker, refrigerator and BBQ. There are also lockers with extra refrigeration and freezer space.

The boat deck area has removable chocks for a tender and two Wave Runners. Kayaks and stand-up paddle boards can be stored on top of the hardtop. Once all the water toys are launched, there is plenty of entertaining space on this deck.

Cockpit, California Deck And Bow

Guests typically board at the wide integrated swim step leading into the generous cockpit. There are additional boarding gates midship on port and starboard sides giving access to the wide walk around decks.

The cockpit is a well-protected area suitable for fishing, entertaining or sunbathing. The engine room door and steps to the California deck are forward as well as larger storage lockers. There are three deck hatches allowing access to the steering gear and ample storage space.

The California deck is fully protected with a removable isinglass enclosure and plexiglass doors leading to the side decks. This makes for cool weather comfort or open shaded areas in warmer temps.

A large sun-pad and cushioned bow seat make up another comfortable gathering area for whale watching, sunbathing or sleeping under the stars.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.

“We are thrilled to collaborate once again with Red Yacht Design on the creation of the Aluna 92,” FDC Yachts director Eyup Ozbelen said in a statement. “Together, we aim to deliver a yacht that not only exceeds expectations but also redefines the very essence of luxury on the water.”

FDC says the Aluna 92 will be the first yacht in its class capable of accommodating helicopters. The vessel features a large touch-and-go helipad on the aft deck that can welcome large choppers capable of carrying up to four passengers, meaning that it can facilitate far more elevated comings and goings than its competitors. The aft deck is also equipped with a large lounge and an alfresco dining area for open-air soirees.

Other exterior highlights include a sprawling sundeck adorned with sunbeds and an expandable beach club with direct ocean access. FDC has also opted to include see-through bulwarks on some exterior decks to provide seafarers with panoramic ocean views.

The interior is equally as spacious and luxurious. The generous cabins can sleep up to eight guests, with the lavish full-beam owner’s suite transforming into separate cabins if additional accommodations are required. Such flexibility renders the Aluna 92 suitable for charter.

“We are confident that the Aluna 92 will exceed the expectations of even the most discerning yachtsmen,” added managing partner of Red Yacht Design Faith Surekli.

FDC says construction on the first Aluna 92 is scheduled to commence by the end of this summer.

Built in 1988, Ocean Drive offers guest accommodation for up to 8 guests in 4 suites comprising a master suite, two double cabins and one twin cabin. There are 5 beds in total, including 1 king, 2 queen and 2 singles. She is also capable of carrying up to 6 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

You and your guests can enjoy a variety of experiences on Ocean Drive, notably a gym with all the latest equipment to maintain your fitness routine.

Ocean Drive benefits from some excellent features to improve your charter, notably the underwater lights, adding spectacle and style after dark. With Wi-Fi connectivity you don't have to lose contact with the outside world, unless you want to plus you can stay comfortable on board whatever the weather, with air conditioning during your charter.

Performance & Range

Built with a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, she benefits from a semi-displacement hull to provide exceptional seakeeping and impressive speeds. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 13 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 18 knots with a range of up to 1,500 nautical miles from her 30,280 litre fuel tanks at 10 knots. Ocean Drive features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels.

Ocean Drive has aboard a plentiful range of water toys and accessories ready to entertain you and your guests whilst on charter. Guests can experience the thrill and adventure of riding one of the two Yamaha FX WaveRunners. Another excellent feature are waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. Additionally, there are two F7 SEABOBs, offering a truly remarkable experience that lets you skim along the surface or swim with the fishes quietly and safely. If that isn't enough Ocean Drive also features wakeboards, fishing equipment, inflatable water toys, kneeboards and paddleboards. When it comes to Tenders, Ocean Drive has you covered - with two tenders, including a 10.9m/35'9" Yellowfin Tender.
