Toy Repair Shop
Have a broken toy? You're in luck! Donny runs a Toy Repair Shop on the peak of Terror Mountain to fix toys for any Neopian who visits him.
List of Repairable Toys
Not all broken toys are created equal. There is a specific set that Donny can repair for you. For a full list, see our Repairable special category in the Item Database. If an item is not listed there, Donny will not be able to repair it.
How to Repair
To repair a toy, simply make sure the item is in your inventory and then visit Donny . He will ask which item from your inventory you wish to have fixed. Clicking on it will result in Donny asking you if you'd like to have it repaired, along with the cost.
If an item can't be repaired, Donny will tell you so:
The cost for repairing a toy can range from 250 to 499 NP. Occasionally, Donny will waive the fee and offer to repair an item for free.
The cost will remain the same even if you ask Donny multiple times. However, this cost is actually based on each item's inventory ID. This means that if you remove the item from your inventory and then bring it back (such as putting it in and out of your Safety Deposit Box ), Donny will quote a new price or possibly offer for free!
This also means that if you add multiples of one item to your inventory at the same time (such as removing qty 10 from your SDB), each one will cost 1 NP more than the previous one! This pattern continue from 250 NPs up to 499 NPs, then will be free for the next 50 items, before starting over again at 250 NPs.
When repaired, the Bag of Broken Neopoints will result in a gain of 1,000-2,000 NP. Depending on the price of the bag and the cost of repair, this could be an advantageous way to make a few NP.
Despite you hoping to have your toy repaired, a few things could happen to your item. The outcome is random each time; there is no way to predict what will happen before handing it over to Donny!
Coughing Fit
Sometimes Donny will have a fit of coughs while repairing your toy. This is temporary; simply pat him on the back to continue on to a final outcome. You may have to pat him multiple times!
Donny breaks out in a horrible coughing fit. "I'll just *cough* be a second *hack cough* whew *cough*" Donny hacks and coughs. Maybe he's trying to breathe water. "I haven't *hack cough* had a fit this bad *cough* since back in the winter of '42!" Donny regains his breath and manages to stop coughing. "Thanks, ye time-wastin' dolt! Now ta get on with the repairs..."
Of course, Donny can fix your broken toy and turn it back into its old shiny self.
Donny manages to repair the item! "Ha! I told ye I could do it! Now begone, ye fur-bitin' good-fer-nothin' prawn."
Damaged Beyond Repair
Rarely, Donny will accidentally destroy your toy while trying to fix it, turning it into a Pile of Rubble or Pile of Sludge , which he will give to you.
The item explodes on Donny's workbench, leaving a pile of rubble! Donny is too stunned to say anything.
The item disintegrates on Donny's workbench, leaving a pile of useless sludge! "Sorry it didn't work out, but I tried me best. But it sure is a pretty pile o' sludge, innit?"
Alternate Prize
Rarely, Donny fails to fix your toy and will instead provide an alternative item as a sign of apology. Most of these items are also available as TCG Rare Item Code prizes (with a few exceptions).
Donny is unable to repair the item, try as he might. "Well, I couldn't fix it, so here's somethin' I had lyin' around the shop."
There is also an avatar available for having Donny fix a toy:

Breakable Toys
Not all toys are capable of being broken. There is a specific set that will be broken while playing. For a full list, see our Breakable special category in the Item Database. If an item is not listed there, it cannot be broken.
How to Break a Toy
Toys can be randomly broken while using them to play with your pet. Breakable Chia plushies will always break when played with by a Lupe, but cannot be broken by other species. All other breakable toys have a 10% chance of breaking each time you play with any species of pet.
Response Text
Some toys have a unique flavor text when broken:
Breakable Chia plushies will have one of these response texts when played with by a Lupe:
Any other breakable toys will have one of these more generic response texts:
- [PET NAME] has played with their [ITEM NAME] a little too rough and broke it!
- [PET NAME] has played with their [ITEM NAME] a little too much and broke it!
- [PET NAME] has played with their [ITEM NAME] a little too long and broke it!
- AWWWWW... [PET NAME] drops and breaks their [ITEM NAME] !
Playing With a Broken Toy
Broken Toys will still have an option to "Play with" your pets in their inventory dropdown menu. If you attempt to do so, your pet will reply with one of these complaints below. Additionally, repeatedly playing with a Broken Toy will lower their mood .
- [PET NAME] says 'Gee thanks :('
- [PET NAME] says 'Grrrrrrrr!'
- [PET NAME] says 'HISSSSSS!'
- [PET NAME] says 'How dare you! I want a toy that isnt broken'
- [PET NAME] says 'Im sure all the other Neopets get better things to play with!'
- [PET NAME] says 'Oh GREAT! A [ITEM NAME] to play with... whoopee!'
- [PET NAME] says 'That is so typical of you! Im annoyed now :('
- [PET NAME] says 'That is SO unfair... you are mean!'
- [PET NAME] says 'What???!! Im not playing with that, its broken!!'
- [PET NAME] says 'Why cant I have a proper toy?'
Special Exceptions
Some items are not able to go back and forth between broken and repaired, but instead only one way! It is unknown if these are intentional or glitches.
Unrepairable Broken Toys
All of these toys can be created by breaking a normal toy, but cannot be repaired back into the normal toy.
Unbreakable Repairable Toys
All of these toys can be created by repairing a broken version, but cannot break on their own! Both pencil items can no longer be played with as their category has been changed to School (instead of Toy), while the Fake Uni Hat is presumably unbreakable due to a name change (from "100% Fake Uni Hat").
Repairable Items in Plots
Repairing items in Donny's shop has been a feature of two different plots:
- In the Altador Mini-Plot , at one point you will need to repair the Broken Astrolabe .
- In the Lost Desert Plot of Fall 2005, participants had to repair various Dirty Stone Fragments .
Unconfirmed Toys
Jellyneo has not been able to confirm the breakability or repairability of the below toys. If you can confirm one, please let us know with a link to a screenshot!

Update Trading Post History
Is our price out of date? Let us know by providing a new suggestion:

For Buyables: We will use the Shop Wiz to verify your suggestion, and in the process we may come up with our own average price. Reports are also not always checked immediately, so what we find may slightly differ!
For Unbuyables: We have strict pricing guidelines in place to prevent unscrupulous users from attempting to fudge unbuyable prices. If we cannot find evidence of your price suggestion, then we may simply not make any changes.

What is this species of Neopet?
You won't need to answer this question if you log into your jnAccount.
Note: We typically add false inflation alerts on any items that have jumped 300% or more in price compared to our current listed price. We typically only do this for items costing >100,000 NP, or buyable items that have gone unbuyable. For example, an item that goes from 500 NP to 2,000 NP would not receive an alert. But an item that has a consistent history of being around 75,000 NP that sees a sudden jump to say, 250,000 NP, might be worthy of a warning.
These guidelines do not apply to items inflated naturally due to time passing (such as a retired item raising in price over time), or an event occurring (such as Charity Corner pushing up the price of wearables).
The spirit of our inflation warning guidelines is to prevent buyers from being ripped off with prices they shouldn't be paying. So if you think an item qualifies, don't hestitate to let us investigate.
Are there newer lots on the Trading Post that don't appear in our history? Let us know and we'll add the new lots when we can.
Note: Since lots on the Trading Post come and go, we may or may not be able to catch the ones you found. And of course, we can only add what we find!

For most items he'll charge you a few hundred neopoints, but occasionally if he hasn't seen the item for a while he'll fix the item for free! Fixing items. Inside the Toy Repair Shop you'll see all of your current inventory's items. If you click on an image of an item, and it's an item that's fixable, he'll ask if you'd like it repaired.
When your bag of broken neopoints is repaired you gain an amount well over 1000 neopoints so it’s worth it! The toy repair shop has been used in some past plots. You had to use it in the now not so recent Lost Desert plot and the Altador Miniplot. Check out the guides on them here at Neo Nutters of Neopia to learn of the torture that both ...
He'll just fix the broken neopoints in the bag, giving them to you when he finishes. You can find up to around 2000 np in a bag like that. Last but not least, not all items with "broken" in the title can be repaired, for example there is no use bringing Donny a Broken Fish Pole or a Broken Toy Boat .

Buying broken stuff for really cheap and using some spare np in order to fix it. I did not get the purple sand yet, but I do got some stuff 10x or even 30x the price that he usually ask for the repair (300~400np). ·. true.
