Fincantieri Yachts Reveals 70 Metre Superyacht Concept Blanche

Fincantieri Yachts has revealed a 70 metre “new generation” superyacht concept named Blanche.

Designed by Fincantieri Yachts with Italian designer Gabriele Teruzzi, the yacht concept combines “luxury, design and function”, resulting in “timeless beauty with a strong Italian imprint.”

The aim of the design was the dismiss any “unnecessary complexity” to maximise space on board, the yard said.

Large living spaces inside the vast 1,535GT interior include a master suite and terrace totalling 190 square metres, both of which are surrounded by full height windows. The wellness area meanwhile measures 126 square metres.

Accommodation on board is for 14 guests in seven cabins while the crew quarters accommodates a total of 17 crew.

Elsewhere, Blanche has a 12 metre beam, draft of 3.3 metres and range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.

It comes after the superyacht division of the Fincantieri Group presented the  80.8 metre naval inspired concept Vis  at last year’s Monaco Yacht Show.

Fincantieri Yachts is based in the Muggiano Yard near La Spezia. Fincantieri Yachts has delivered in 2011 her first mega yacht, Serene, a 134m yacht which, when launched, is considered a masterpiece for level of luxury, quality and technical challenge. In 2014 has delivered, Hull 6218 Ocean Victory, a seven- deck motor yacht of 140 meters in length, whose contract, signed in December 2009, was the first order for a yacht longer than 80meters signed after the beginning of the financial crisis in October 2008.

Not all yacht owners have the same ideas. Some want to create, with their own designers, completely new, unique and distinctive vessels, specifically designed to their own vision, and FY is ready to develop and build these projects for them.

But other owners prefer to build upon an exclusive existing design. So, for them, Fincantieri Yachts joined with some of the world’s most prestigious international yacht designers to create concept designs to stimulate the mind of the future owners. The latest were presented and displayed in all the most important boat shows around the world: “Mirage” 106 metres, presented at the latest edition of the Monaco Yachts Show, “Griffin ”, 66 metres unveiled at Versilia Yachting Randez Vous and many others, such as “Ganimede” 110 metres, “Private Bay” 123 metres, “Sundance” and “Linea” both 90 metres, “Ottantacinque” 85 metres, and many others. Fincantieri Yachts, “Private Bay”. The perfect harmony measures 120m.

That was the impression at the unveiling of the model of the 120m luxury motor yacht “Private Bay” at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. The design is by the Argentinian architect Horacio Bozzo. Private Bay in the words of her designer:

I am convinced that who has a strong personality also at sea wants to follow his instinct and live it his own way. Private Bay is a different vision of a mega yacht conceived to live close to the sea, the main protagonist, while enjoying an authentic experience. The exterior design is characterized by surfaces that intersect creating light reflections with terraces and balconies overlooking the sea. The flair of the bow adds class and the leaning mast gives a sporty accent for a yacht that with a contemporary elegance shows her identity. Fincantieri Yachts expertise brings prestige and quality to this fresh concept of a 123m Yacht setting the basis for a stimulating collaboration.

With a LOA of 123 metres, Private Bay developes along 6 decks, with a configuration of 9 guests’ cabins, including the owner’s suite, and 17 for the crew. The max speed is 18,50 kn and has a nautical range at 13 kn of 5,500 nm.

The Open Beach Club Concept is a unique feature that includes a 160 m2 [1700 sqft] lounge area with side openable windows, al-fresco cinema, sea level pool with bar, submergible stairs and platform for gentle access to the ocean and a generous swim-platform for easy boarding of jetskis and tenders.

Inspired by a shell the glass protected veranda and terrace overlook the sea for unobstructed views.

The observation area including a sun deck pool and shaded bar to enjoy in style with a different perspective.

Fincantieri’s Private Bay

When the going gets tough, the tough get going and produce yachts that change the course of history. Designing a 120-metre yacht with a very low slung stern open to the sea and a beach area the size of three squash courts is not for the faint-hearted. But that did not stop Horacio Bozzo throwing down the gauntlet or Fincantieri Yachts accepting the challenge and developing the concept with its trademark skill and flair.

The result is Private Bay, a megayacht concept of 120 metres clothed in exterior lines and backed by a design philosophy that ensure she’ll be a real head-turner.

Despite having no less than six decks, the yacht is clothed is astonishingly sleek, streamlined lines with expansive al fresco areas that keep guests in contact with the sea. It also has a striking open transom that skims the sea and affords a beach club of over 160 square metres complete with swimming pool.

“The decision to make the stern completely open was more of a philosophical choice than a style whim,” explains Horacio Bozzo. Were it not for Fincantieri Yachts’ unparalleled skills, such a radical, technically complex move might well have remained a virtual dream.

“For Private Bay, we chose a platform from the ones available to us that would produce a yacht with harmonious forms that also met our philosophical and conceptual criteria for the craft. Private Bay’s stern is very unusual in shape while the long, streamlined bows also give the exterior a more dynamic character. There are details that set her apart too, particularly the aft balconies set into the hull at main deck level. I protected them with glazing to give guests a private spot to admire the sea out of the wind,” continues Bozzo.

“The large open stern designed by Bozzo forced Fincantieri Yachts to very carefully research Private Bay’s stability, sea-holding, robustness and centre of gravity. This ultimately created a perfect synthesis of technology, design and construction prowess. The epitome of what we describe as the ‘technology of beauty’,” Fincantieri Yachts declared in an official statement.

Private Bay is also a very beautiful craft. More significantly still, she is ushers in a new take on the megayacht ideal.

“When I imagine a boat, I always start from the philosophy behind it rather than the aesthetic,” continues Bozzo. “With Private Bay, I thought of a yacht for a dynamic, sporty young family that wants to enjoy their yacht in complete freedom and with direct contact with the sea.” To deliver on this notion and to create more outdoor space, the Argentinean designer penned a craft with a light, compact superstructure and very generous expanses of open deck.

In all, owner and guests will have 1,300 square metres of space available to them, 160 of which is accounted for by the beach club alone. Between 25 and 30 per cent of the remaining 1,140 square metres is al fresco, spanning, amongst other things, two hydromassage tubs forward (one on the main deck and one on the sun deck), lots of sunning areas on all decks and an aft cockpit on both the main and upper decks where guests can relax.

The beach club, however, deserves a mention all of its own. “The decision to make it this big stemmed from a desire to create a yacht that allowed guest to literally have a ‘waterfront’ experience of the sea, something I’ve never seen before aboard. This area is also where guests will gather to have relax and enjoy each other’s company. There are also plenty of more intimate spaces for those that want a little peace and quiet, of course,” says Bozzo.

Aside from a large infinity pool with a glass end wall and a wet bar, the beach area also has a large al fresco cinema. The side glazing also opens and submergible steps aft make getting into and out of the water exceptionally easy.

Private Bay will accommodate 18 guests and 31 crew. She’ll be powered by twin diesel engines coupled with controllable pitch propellers (CPP) to deliver a redline speed of 18.5 knots in addition to an explorer vessel-standard range of 5,500 nautical miles when cruising.

Fincantieri tweaks PPA patrol vessel design to carry more missiles

ROME — New versions of Italy’s PPA multimission navy vessels are to be kitted out with extra missile launchers, including cruise missile launchers, Italian industry officials said at the Euronaval trade show in Paris.

The ships’ new “EVO” variant, which the Italian Navy may order next year, will get extra Sylver 50 launch modules, which house Aster missiles, but also Sylver 70 launch modules which will fire Aster missiles as well as cruise missiles, including the MdCN naval land-attack missile.

The beefing up of the PPA vessel is the latest example of Italian cash being spent on renewing and upgrading its naval fleet, from new FREMM variants to Italy’s ordered Trieste Landing Helicopter Dock.

Italy has ordered seven PPA vessels from local shipyard Fincantieri, but two of those have now been diverted to Indonesia following a purchase made by the Asian state.

The Italian Navy is set to order two more to make up the deficit and is likely to switch to the EVO configuration for the new buys.

Current PPA versions have two eight-cell Sylver 50 launchers in the forward part of the ship. Two more eight-cell modules will be added in that part of the vessel in the EVO ships. Additionally, a crane will be removed in the centre of the EVO ships to make way for four more modules, each with space for eight missiles.

“At least two of the modules added on the EVO vessels will be Sylver 70,” said a Fincantieri official.

Other upgrades included the introduction of artificial intelligence to support the bridge and the use of a “digital twin” of the vessel to assist maintenance, the official said.

To prepare for the deployment of surface and sub-sea drones from the PPAs, the communication between the bridge and drones will be enhanced.

The first of the two PPA vessels ordered in a €1.2 billion ($1.3 billion) deal by Indonesia in March 2024 is due to be delivered by the end of this year.

Fincantieri previously signed to sell six FREMM frigates to Indonesia in 2021.

In July, the Italian Navy signed a €1.5 billion euro contract with Fincantieri and Leonardo for two new, upgraded FREMM frigates, dubbed the FREMM EVO, which will offer enhanced capabilities for defeating drone attacks and operating sub-sea, surface and aerial unmanned systems, among other improvements.

The two new FREMM vessels, which will join ten already ordered by the Italian Navy, will be delivered in 2029 and 2030.

Fincantieri nets up to $1bn in orders from cruise ship player Crystal

61,800 gt vessel will accommodate around 690 passengers

Cruise ship owner Crystal and Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri have finalised an order for the construction of one 61,800 gt cruise ship.

It follows the exercise of the option granted under the two-unit agreements disclosed to the market in June.

The value of the order of the first ship is €500m to €1bn ($1.1bn), according to a statement from Fincantieri.

Crystal also has an option for a third vessel.

The shipbuilder said: “This order reflects Fincantieri’s comprehensive strategy in the cruise ship sector. As a global leader in high-tech shipbuilding, Fincantieri is dedicated to developing innovative, environmentally sustainable vessels that meet evolving market demands.”

The new unit, as its future sister ships, will accommodate approximately 690 passengers.

The ship will feature all-suite accommodations, with private verandas including a single occupancy category designed for solo travellers.

Fincantieri said its “focus on next-generation fuel technologies, such as LNG and hydrogen, coupled with its commitment to customer-centric design, reinforces its leading position in the cruise market.”

“This strategy not only responds to industry trends towards greener and more high-end cruising experiences but also solidifies Fincantieri’s role as a trusted partner for the most prestigious brands in the world,” it added.

The vessel will delivered in early 2028, the shipbuilder said in June.

In October, Torstein Hagen’s Viking Cruises expanded its orderbook at Fincantieri with two firm cruise ships for delivery in 2030 and four options.

The ships will be about 54,300 gt, accommodating 998 passengers.

From About You Decor … Our design is a symbol of dawn and a distant endless horizon. Ahead is a long, happy life without any borders. An international couple, Pavel and Cherry, met in London and have been walking together for many years.

From the Bride, Cherry… My husband and I we decided to have our summer wedding in Moscow because the city is where his roots are. As we knew we were going to have the other wedding ceremony in China, we wanted our Moscow one to be very personal and intimate. We’ve known each other since we were fourteen, together with many of our friends whom we’ve also known for a decade.

I didn’t want to walk down the aisle twice so the plausibility of my request quickly came into discussion. The open pontoon stage was constructed in order to facilitate the bridal entrance on water, although there were concerns about safety as the last thing we wanted was probably a drowned bride before she could get on stage, picture that! I have to say on that day it wasn’t easy to get on the pontoon stage from the boat, in my long gown and high heels. Luckily my bridesmaids still noticed even though they stood the furthest from me on the stage, and helped me out without prior rehearsal. My girls could just tell whenever I needed a hand or maybe they were just so used to my clumsiness. Who knows 😂

We all love our photographer Julia! She’s so talented and her style is so unique. Our beloved host Alex is exceptional who made everyone laugh and cry. It was truly a blessing to have so many kind and beautiful souls on our big day. Thank you all!

From Sonya Khegay … It was the last day of April and still very cold in the morning. The weather forecast wasn’t pleasing and no one expected that the sun would come out, but miracles happen and light rain gave way to the warm rays.

I love how all the details went together, you could feel the harmony in everything throughout the entire wedding day from the morning until the fireworks.

A gentle look of the bride, elegant but so airy and unique decor, the fresh and light atmosphere of early spring and, of course, true happiness in the eyes. My heart becomes so warm from these memories, it is always a pleasure to see the birth of a new family of two loving hearts.

You really can’t go wrong with simple: a beautiful Bride , perfectly pretty petals , loved ones all around. But add in an amazing firework show  to cap off the night and simple just became downright extraordinary. Captured by Lena Elisseva , with assistance by  Katya Butenko , this rustic Russian celebration is simply fantastic. From Lena Eliseeva Photo …  This cozy and warm summer wedding of gorgeous Natalia and Anton was in the middle of June. The young couple decided to organize their wedding themselves, and the day was very personal and touching. I am absolutely in love with rustic outdoor weddings, and this one is my favourite because of the free and easy atmosphere.

All the decor excluding the bride’s bouquet was made by a team of ten friends of the bride and groom. And it was charming – a light and beautiful arch, eco-style polygraphy and succulents, candy-bar with caramel apples and berries – sweet joys of summer.

At the end of ceremony the guests tossed up white handkerchiefs embroidered by Natalia’s own hands.

The most touching moment was the happy eyes of the groom’s grandmother, the most estimable person on the wedding. And the fireworks were a bright end to that beautiful day.

From Lena Kozhina … When we met with the couple for the first time, we immediately paid attention to Dima’s behavior towards Julia. There was a feeling of tenderness and awe, and we immediately wanted to recreate this atmosphere of love, care and warmth on their Big Day.

Later, when we had chosen a green meadow and an uncovered pavilion overlooking a lake as the project site, it only highlighted a light summer mood with colorful florals and a great number of natural woods. The name of the site is Fox Lodge and peach-orange color, as one of the Bride’s favorites, set the tone for the whole design – from the invitations, in which we used images of fox cubs to elements of serving guest tables and other decorative elements with the corresponding bright accents.
