An elegant, Italian-built luxury charter yacht, ELENA V is a brilliant choice for charter for up to 12 guests, available for charter in the Greek Islands. At 164ft (49.91m) ELENA V has large deck areas for guests to enjoy, including a superb sundeck with bar, several sunlounges, jacuzzi, sunpads and a fully equipped indoor gym, plus an inviting foredeck space with circular dining table and seating for meals alfresco.

There are also two aft decks, the main deck with banquette seating and table for casual meals or cocktails, and a much larger dining and lounge space on the upper deck, with undercover dining table for 12 and a large bank of comfortable seating for guests to take in the views.

A convenient guest elevator serves all decks, ideal for guests with special needs and multigenerational family groups. 

With interior design by Franco & Anna Della Role, ELENA V has a luxurious, yet welcoming ambience, with large windows for natural light and panoramic views, impressive timber joinery and elegant furnishings.

Entering from the main aft deck, there’s a sophisticated entry lounge with impeccable parquetry floors, which then leads into the saloon, comprising three sofas and coffee tables, as well as a state-of-the-art entertainment system. The large formal dining room provides an elegant space for special occasions or evening meals.

On the upper deck, there’s a skylounge with a bar, spacious lounge and high-tech AV system that includes  Nova, Sonos, Apple TV and Netflix, ideal for movie nights or watching the Game. The décor is chic and refined, creating a cosy ambience.

ACCOMMODATION

Aboard ELENA V there’s accommodation for up to 12 guests in six lavish cabins. Located on the main deck, the luxurious full-beam master stateroom boasts an emperor-size bed, walk-in wardrobe, separate office, and his & hers marble ensuite with jacuzzi tub. The VIP suite is also on the main deck and features queen size bed and ensuite. On the lower deck are two double suites and two twin cabins, each with private ensuite, Pullman berth, TV/AV, ample storage and porthole windows.

Guests will be able to take full advantage of the tranquil Mediterranean waters with the numerous watertoys on board ELENA V, including the 6.3m Castoldi Jet Tender that accommodates 12 guests, a 4.3m Novurania DL tender, one Sea Doo GTX LTD 300 LM W and a Sea Doo RXT-XRS 300 DR 19 INT, one Sea bob, three Bladefish Sea Scooters, two Hobie Pedal boards, waterskis for adults and children, two wakeboards, diving equipment, fishing gear, snorkelling gear and a range of inflatable toys.

The gym provides a full range of equipment including stationary bike, Power Plate dumbbells, step, Multifunctional Machine and treadmill.

The interior of this yacht is cosy and comfortable and is composed of a large salon with a formal dining room as well as a casual lounge and gaming area. A guest elevator provides easy access to all of ELENA V’s four decks, including the beautiful skylounge that is found on the Bridge deck. The Skylounge includes a full wet bar and very plush seating.

Stepping out, her expansive on-deck areas are perfect for enjoying the fresh sea breezes or sunbathing in the comfortable chaise lounges or relaxing under the protection of the ample awnings. A large aft deck boasts a great alfresco dining option as well as a comfortable cushioned seating area.

With a stunning interior by Franco and Anna Maria Dellaole, and superb outside areas, this yacht is the ultimate in luxury chartering.

ELENA V underwent a major refit in 2009 which added a spacious extra sun deck on which guests will find a fully equipped gym, a hot tub and very comfortable sun pads.

With a steel hull and Aluminium superstructure, ELENA V cruises at speed of 14 knots with a maximum speed of 17.5 knots.

Yacht Charter Accommodation

The Master suite comprises a King size bed. It is full width of the yacht. 2 full size beds are joined. The Owners suite boasts a study as well as a his and hers bathroom with spa pool tub and LCD TV. There is also a walk in closet. Two guest cabins include Queen beds and are below deck, both aft, to port and starboard. One guest cabin is a double and is located on the main deck to port, aft of the owners suite. It is suited either for staff or guests. The two remainding guest cabins are twins, they are both below deck and forward, one to port, the other to starboard. They both comprise additional pullman berths. Each guest suite includes a beautiful private bathroom and modern entertainment system with LCD television.

47m Heesen motor yacht Elena joins market

The 46.7-metre motor yacht Elena is newly listed for sale with Yachtzoo who are joint central agents with a non-yacht brokerage company.

Built of steel and aluminium in the Netherlands by Heesen in 2014, Elena is one of the yard's "Steel" range. She is designed throughout by Omega Architects , who included the Heesen trademark "pelican" bow in her profile.

She accommodates 10 guests in five cabins, including a master suite with an opulent bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and study. There are quarters for a crew of nine, including the captain. Elena's interior has a calm, natural feel, thanks to the use of fine silk, wool, and linen textiles that complement the warm walnut floor, oak walls, and lacquered ceiling.

Her open-plan saloon has an oval dining table forward however most meals are taken al fresco on the aft deck or at the 12-seater dining table on the sundeck. Up on this spacious deck, a Jacuzzi tempts guests to cool off after partying at the bar. For those who prefer to relax close to the sea, the swim platform is large enough to position several loungers.

The Lloyd's-classed 498 GT yacht for sale has a range of 4,000 nautical miles, at her cruising speed of 12 knots, under twin 1,340 HP MTU 8V 4000 diesels. Her top speed is 14 knots.

“ Elena has had just one owner from build and has been meticulously looked after. The yacht has never been chartered and, as such, boasts low hours and usage," the broker said.

Elena is lying in Montenegro and asking €26,000,000.

Biden mocks Clarence Thomas over undisclosed luxury trips, says Supreme Court justice ‘likes to spend a lot of time on yachts’

President Biden derided Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas for failing to disclose trips he took with a Republican donor, referring to the high court’s longest-serving current justice as “the guy who likes to spend a lot of time on yachts” in an interview published Monday.

Biden, 81, made the cutting comment to The New Yorker while discussing whether the high court’s conservative majority would revisit other precedents after overturning Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 decision that granted constitutional protections for abortion, in June 2022.

In a concurring opinion on the ruling, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Thomas suggested the justices should revisit other precedents legalizing contraception and same-sex marriage, as well as decriminalizing homosexuality.

All those decisions were based on the legal theory of “substantive due process,” which states that rights not specified in the Constitution are protected by the 5th and 14th Amendments.

“Because any substantive due process decision is ‘demonstrably erroneous,’” Thomas, now 75, wrote at the time, “we have a duty to ‘correct the error’ established in those precedents.”

Biden batted down the suggestion during his interview.

“I don’t think there’s a majority to go there,” he said, before pivoting to criticize Thomas for more than 20 years of excursions on billionaire GOP donor Harlan Crow’s superyacht and private jet.

While serving as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Biden voted against the confirmation of Thomas to the Supreme Court in 1991 following allegations of sexual harassment by Anita Hill, who worked under Thomas at the Education Department and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Thomas dismissed Hill’s testimony as “lies” and said the widely televised hearings amounted to a “high-tech lynching for uppity blacks.”

The justice was confirmed by narrow 52-48 vote in the Senate, with 11 Democrats and 41 Republicans supporting his appointment. At the time, such a tight margin was almost unheard of; no justice had been confirmed with fewer than 60 Senate votes since 1949 — and none would be again until Samuel Alito in 2006.

A federal judge on the DC Circuit Court of Appeals at the time of his nomination, the conservative Thomas replaced retiring Justice Thurgood Marshall, a liberal and the high court’s first African-American jurist.

Last year, ProPublica reported that Thomas had “accepted luxury trips virtually every year” for decades from Crow, a Dallas-based real estate mogul, without listing them on his financial disclosures with the high court.

One 2019 jaunt to Indonesia with his wife, Virginia Thomas, and Crow would have cost more than $500,000 had the justice chartered his own flight and yacht, according to the outlet.

“Early in my tenure at the Court, I sought guidance from my colleagues and others in the judiciary, and was advised that this sort of personal hospitality from close personal friends, who did not have business before the Court, was not reportable,” the justice said in a statement at the time.

“I have endeavored to follow that counsel throughout my tenure, and have always sought to comply with the disclosure guidelines.”

Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee later opened an investigation into Thomas and threatened to subpoena Crow — but have yet to do so.

In November, the Supreme Court adopted its first-ever ethics code , laying out guidelines for the disclosure of reimbursements for travel, food and lodging.

While congressionally mandated ethics rules govern the behavior of lower court judges, Alito has said the Constitution grants no such authority to Congress in overseeing the Supreme Court.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), who chairs the Judiciary Committee and led the probe of Thomas, has since suggested the justice also has conflicts of interest that should prompt his recusal from former President Donald Trump’s upcoming appeal of his 2020 election interference case in Washington, DC.

Virginia Thomas, a longtime conservative activist, attended Trump’s “Stop the Steal” rally on Jan. 6, 2021, in DC before the Capitol riot and pressured then-chief of staff Mark Meadows to challenge 2020 electoral results , the Washington Post reported.

On April 22, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments from Trump’s attorneys, who argue the former president should not be criminally prosecuted for his attempts to overturn Joe Biden’s victory.

The Post has reached out to the Supreme Court for comment.
