Romantic and Unique Spring Danversport Yacht Club Wedding

I was very excited about this elegant spring wedding photoshoot at Danversport Yacht Club in Danvers, MA because I was the photographer and the florist for the very first time. I always love and appreciate the beauty in nature. I have considered to be a florist before I dived into photography. However, I have severe seasonal allergy and my husband told me it would to a good idea and Ha, he was right.

Well, my spring wedding photoshoot was inspired by a few items I have at home, such as my magnetic acrylic photo frame and my garden and plants as well as craving for beautiful soft spring colors after a long dreadful winter in MA. We had the The Harborview Ballroom at Danversport Yacht Club for this perfection occasion. I wanted to showcase a romantic, elegant wedding style with easy reception setup and DIY bouquet.

Danversport Yacht Club Wedding Reception Details

This Danversport yacht Club wedding shoot was topped with many thoughtful details.  The gold glass diamond shaped vases with subtle blush Toile napkins, forged gold flatware and gold rimmed chargers added pop of colors among the greens from Jasmine plants.

The blush, coral, dusty blue and gold paired perfectly with geometric shaped, angled styling and watercolor effect.

The magnetic acrylic photo frames served as guest name cards as well as wedding favors. We could also use an extra picture frame. Guest’s name was written in gold on watercolor paper, hand torn in angel and inserted between two magnetic panel. It gave the depth and interesting look with a piece of simple green leave.  All together, give a soft, romantic and elegant Danversport Yacht Club wedding.

Danversport Yacht Club Wedding Floral Details

As I mentioned above, I had a Danversport Yacht Club wedding 5 years ago. This venue has a special place in my heart, not only because it was my wedding venue, but also it is a beautiful waterfront venue with versatility.  I had a DIY wedding because it was smaller wedding and fell in love with planning the details and arranging my center piece.

At this Danversport Yacht Club wedding photoshoot, the idea of using Jasmine plants flashed in my head as I was watering my plants one day. I had a few plants as focal flowers running through serpentine table along with Seafoam hand dyed cheese cloth. It was easy to set up, but yet very pretty and elegant with fragrance flowing in the air. The lush green with soft pink and cream flowers and wispy branches created a beautiful and romantic look and natural draping over the table and at end of the table.

Bridal Fashion

A few unique hand crafted items have been used to style this photoshoot, including beautiful electroplated real fern bridal hair accessories. The untraditional salt and pepper engagement ring brought a little twist to this upscale elegant Danversport Yacht Club wedding photoshoot.

We went to elegant and timeless look. The bridal hair accessories had really unique touch. They are real ferns and leaves which have been electroplated and hand enameled. We paired these gems with petite spring flowers for a light, fresh take on the florals.

Girls love diamonds but also love shoes, right? You won’t go wrong with a pair of timeless Bella Belle Shoes. I fell in love with this Frances Champagne as soon as I laid my eyes on them. The lustrous soft gold teardrop stone and beads got all the sparkles and shines you desire for a glamorous Danversport Yacht Club wedding.

I hope this styled shoot brings brides some inspirations to plan their weddings in tough early spring while there are not much going on outdoors in nature in Massachusetts during this season.  So let’s bring spring and romance a indoor Danversport Yacht Club wedding.

Danversport Yacht Club Wedding – Three Ceremony Site & Reception Halls

There were two weddings happening.  However, this venue is so versatile with three separate reception space and their own ceremony site.

The Harborview Ballroom and Sun Deck Wedding

This would be it for you if you love a glamorous and elegant Danversport Yacht Club wedding.  The Harvoirview Ballroom has 5000+ square feet of deck and overlooking Danversport Yacht club grounds.  It has massive capacity of 200 –  650 guests if you will have a big fat Greek wedding.  This spectacular room offers a private deck overlooking the water with direct access to a gazebo and beautiful garden.  It has the best combination of glamor, waterfront and nature.

Terrace Ballroom and Garden Wedding

This reception venue has 4000+ square feet of waterfront gardens with capacity of 100-225 guests.  It features a large dance floor, a magnificent pergola outside for ceremony, waterside patio and gardens.  Perfect for mid size romantic Danversport Yacht Club weddings.

Lighthouse Point and Courtyard Wedding

It’s designed for a more intimate weddings, accommodating 50 to 90 guests and offering water views on three sides and a rock waterfall centered in the beautiful tented courtyard.  It is perfect for cocktail hours as you can see in photos.

However, I didn’t get married in any one of these locations.  It is a secret room at Danversport Yacht Club haha…  It was 5 years ago.  Gosh, I can’t believe time flew by.

Secret 4th Reception Space for Small Danversport Yacht Club Wedding Like Mine

Joe and I had a small wedding with about 45 guests.  Any room above was big for my wedding.  I don’t know if they still offer this.  But I was lucky to have their smallest room called Captain”s Room.  We had our ceremony at Gazebo, right outside of Captain’s Room.  It was just perfect for us.  So if you are having a smaller wedding, but want all the water views, that would be it!

Seaside Wedding on the North Shore at the Danversport Yacht Club –

We are so happy to share some photos from this lovely “micro-wedding” at the Danversport Yacht Club . We started out with some gorgeous “getting ready” portraits of the bride. The beautiful sunlight streaming in through the windows was perfect for photos.

For the first look we started along the water by a row of sunflowers and then went for a walk, photographing the happy couple along the way. The rocky coastline was such a great place for portraits of the couple. The marina made for an amazing background with beautiful light and bright colors.

The tall grass blowing in the breeze provided a romantic element. This celebration of the couple was a precursor to this year’s event at Tupper Manor. To check out more from their “big” celebration, click here.

Alyssa & Nick’s Danversport Yacht Club Wedding

Every wedding always has at least one thing or moment that becomes the highlight of the day or just completely melts my heart. At Alyssa and Nick’s wedding, I had several such moments and lots of fun. There is so much from this wedding that I can talk about, be it my lovely couple, their amazing guests, the incredible Danversport Waterfront Yacht Club , or the dreamy decor. To top it all, I loved how comfortable and relaxed Alyssa and Nick were around me. And that’s probably because we had such an incredible engagement session together. 

Danversport Yacht Club Wedding Photography

I belong to a military family and connected with Nick over the US armed forces. There will always be a special place in my heart for US armed forces members. My husband, brother, and three brothers-in-law are US marines, and so is Nick. Nick’s father and Alyssa’s step-dad are also US marines. So, being around these people felt like being with family. 

Alyssa and Nick had one of the cutest love stories as well. They had first met during their sophomore year of high school, and during a history class that they had together, one of their favorite teachers called Nick out for having a “crush” on Alyssa. The funny part is that they had never talked a day in their lives before that point. Well, I always say that love has its ways to bring people together, and somehow joking about it brought Alyssa and Nick together. So, shoutout to their teacher, Mr. Clark! My couple met in 2013 and have been inseparable ever since. Their relationship also stood the test of time, and they stayed together even when Nick had to be away on deployment during most of their engagement. And on their wedding day, I got to witness the strong bond that these two shared.

Alyssa and Nick’s wedding was the perfect combination of classy, elegant, and downright fun. My couple was one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. Nick was surrounded by the most fun and affectionate groomsmen. They were so happy, they danced their hearts out, hugged, and celebrated Alyssa and Nick! Alyssa also had her group of girls and a bridesman to support her throughout. I had never seen a group of happier, fun-loving, and grateful people before. Photographing these lively people was such a pleasure. 

Besides all the fun, this wedding also had its share of emotional moments. Alyssa had two parent dances. One with her father and another one with her step-dad. This is what I was talking about when I said my heart melted several times during this wedding. No wedding day comes without hiccups, though. At Alyssa and Nick’s, the hiccup was the wind. Man… it was so windy! This is something my couple will be able to talk about even years later, but in the grand scheme of things, it was the only hiccup!

Alyssa and Nick, your wedding was incredible! All the love and joy in the air made this day so much fun. Thank you for choosing me as your wedding photographer. It was truly an honor. And I look forward to photographing your future celebrations too. I would also like to give a special shoutout to Danversport Yacht Club. In ten years of shooting weddings, I’ve never been treated with so much grace and warmth by a venue! Everyone was happy, helpful, and kind. They fed us vendors full meals AND dessert and coffee! Shooting at this beautiful venue was a wonderful experience.

Danversport Yacht Club Wedding

The Danversport Yacht Club is a stunning wedding venue located in the Danvers, Massachusetts. Its picturesque waterfront location provides the perfect backdrop for a New England wedding! The newly renovated reception hall is white and bright and that is filled with natural light (ayyy I'm a poet). It's beautifully decorated with white and gold accents, creating a sophisticated and timeless ambiance. Outside of the reception space is a deck and balcony that hosts the cocktail hour and offers great views of the harbor! While there are a bunch of outdoor ceremony space options, Kellyn and Alex chose the gazebo surrounded by lush greenery lawn overlooking the harbor.

Meet Kellyn & Alex:

Kellyn & Alex met at a New Years Eve party and started 2017 with a new crush. They had mutual friends which always makes dating a little easier when your friends can give you the *they're not a serial killer* go ahead (orrrr was that just me when going on a first date?). Kellyn is sarcastic and confident while Alex is a quiet and solid. Their chemistry together is obvious - there's like a gravitational pull when they're around each other!!

Their September wedding at the Danversport Yacht Club was such a beautiful celebration. They chose this venue for its stunning waterfront location and elegant atmosphere, and it did not disappoint! Their original wedding date had to be rescheduled during the pandemic and in that time they welcomed a beautiful little girl into the family!! Since they were now a family of three, Kellyn said it felt like it took some pressure off of the wedding and made it so they could truly enjoy it and be present a little bit more. The getting ready photos of Kellyn + Shae below make me feel all the feels - Shae is wearing Kellyn's old dress from when she was just a baby!

Their wedding day was absolutely gorgeous and had full sun for their ceremony... which was all about 3 minutes haha. I think they take the cake for the shortest ceremony I've ever photographed! But it was just what they wanted - "ceremony as short as possible" to do the formalities to make it official and then let's go have some fun!

Later on in the blog you'll see the golden hour photos we took have a little twist to them... smoke gave us a premature sunset! The skies were so smoky from wildfires out west that it made the entire sky orange, and the sun a little more bearable on the hot late summer day.

I'm so grateful to have photographed K+A's wedding and I can't wait to see them again soon for some updated family photos we have scheduled this summer! It's such an honor to be asked to continue to photograph families year after year to document the passing of time and provide heirlooms for future generations!!!

Haters will say this moon photo is photoshopped ;). It was the actual moon, I just made it suuuupah big! Had to do it for such a beautiful full moon!

It Happens Here: Family at the heart of Danversport's long running success

DANVERS - For more than 50 years Danversport has been owned and operated by the DeLorenzo family.

If you have a wedding, anniversary, birthday or other event, this is the place to be.

"The Harborview Ballroom holds 650 people. Downstairs we have four more event rooms that hold about half this, 325, down to 20 people and we have one outside tent. The other side, we have our sister company which is Danversport Marina," operations manager Joe DeLorenzo told WBZ-TV.

And it's all about family - a very large family.

"I get to work with some of my cousins every day. My own father and some of my uncles and it's really great," said DeLorenzo.

"There's 17 cousins total, so that's our G3 and I would say on holidays, we all work there," said events manager Tanya Decoulos.

"It's amazing how well we all get along. We all get along so well and it's a great family to work with," said Dan DeLorenzo.

Their specialty is making sure your event is a memorable one.

"People that are having weddings here are the most that we do, but we do baby showers and bridal showers and it's really fun," Decoulos told WBZ.

The family's togetherness makes their business thrive. Everyone who works here is considered in the circle.

"We're also fortunate because we have the best employees around. We have employees that are like family really that have been here for as long as we have," said DeLorenzo.

There were no handouts. You have to earn your spot.

"I first started as just interning pretty much. Someone was going on maternity leave, So I wasn't even planning on working here," said service writer and pool manager Megan Cassola.

"We have 307 slips and we have pool memberships and it's just very family oriented and I take a lot of pride in making sure everyone is happy over there."

"We're here to make sure that people are celebrating life's events. That's our mission statement, that's our goal. We've been lucky to do it for a lot of people and we are so excited to bring in new people that haven't been to Danversport," DeLorenzo told WBZ.
