Help us to Develop the Laser Model Yacht

The RC Laser is such an easy travelling companion that your trip of a life-time can be to compete in a regatta in Europe, the US, Fiji, South Africa or South America!

RC Laser Fleets, Clubs and Associations

To start a fleet in your area , contact us on  [email protected]  .

Starting a Laser Model Yacht fleet or club is easy and very satisfying. We will do our utmost to provide you with all the help and support you need.

We believe the Laser Model Yacht will be the boat of choice for many, like us, who are keen sailors but do not have the time to devote to a One-Metre Class or other multi-design radio controlled yachts and do not have the means to support competitive big boat sailing. The RC Laser is also the best boat around for those who are new to sailing. It offers the opportunity to learn, to compete and improve without fear or frustration.

We hope that many members of the Association will be people for whom sailing is a new experience, who decide to give it a go and discover for themselves the joys of spending a few hours cruising or racing with the easy to manage yet always challenging RC Laser.

Membership at Goolwa   The Goolwa Radio Control Yachting Group welcomes new members.  While experience in sailing is an advantage, many of our members have no background in sailing full sized yachts.  Others have sailing and racing experience in dinghies, trailerable yachts and keelboats.  Despite this disparity all our members are extremely keen on sailing radio controlled yachts.  The rules of sailing in RC yachts are basically the same as for full sized ones with a few minor variations.  The ' E-blue book' which is the controlling rules publication world wide has a section outlining these minor differences in Appendix E.  Click on the links to view them.  There is an index page listing Appendix E near the start and a link to direct you to it. While not formally a club at this stage, we require members to complete a membership form.  This is available in three versions and enables us to maintain communication between members.  An e-mail address is very desirable Complete the form on-line.   On submitting the form it will be automatically e-mailed to the Ben Morris who is maintaining the list.  You will receive a reply confirming the application within a day or so.  Existing members can also use this process to update their information. Complete a word form document by downloading it, completing the form and e-mailing it as an attachment to the Ben Morris - [email protected]   Download the club flyer which has an application form as part of the document, print the form, complete it and bring it to the sailing venue on Monday or Friday. There are currently no club fees, though this may change if we move to a more formal club arrangement. We encourage everyone to be a member of the Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club.   Th e map below shows the outline of the course we generally use at the Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club marina

The Location

Sailing is on open waters that provide great breezes from almost any direction , but particularly from the south, north & east. In summer we use 'B' rigs as often as 'A' rigs and 'C' rigs don't just stay in the sail box either. The control area is elevated, just as it should be for RC sailors, and we have a 25m jetty and large stable pontoon to make launching our yachts safe and easy.

KBRYC is earning a reputation as the premier RC yachting venue in Sydney, boasting the 3rd largest membership in NSW and the largest membership fleet of IOM's in Sydney.

The club hosted the Milo ARYA National Championships in 2005 and the NAB ARYA National Championships in 2011 as well as numerous State Championships and Grand Prix’s since 2003.

Results from every heat and race will be published as soon as they are available ..
