Pendennis sailing yacht Adela for sale

The 55.11 metre sailing yacht Adela has been listed for sale by Alex Busher at Edmiston & Company .

Originally launched in 1903 and rebuilt with a steel hull and superstructure by British yard Pendennis to a design by Dykstra Naval Architects , Adela was delivered in 1995 and has only ever been used privately. Accommodation is for eight guests in four cabins comprising a master suite, double and two twins. The master suite has a television screen and all cabins come with en suite bathroom facilities while a further four cabins sleep nine crewmembers aboard this yacht for sale .

Over the years, Adela has enjoyed numerous refits at the Pendennis shipyard, including a five metre hull extension in 2000 and a full engineering overhaul, complete with new generators and new paint in 2012. Today, she boasts a classic profile blending traditional fittings with modern technology within her sumptuous interior as well as on deck.

Custom made blocks and winches, concealed state of the art communications and a modern climate control system, all provide the comfort and convenience one would expect on a modern superyacht. Since her initial restoration Adela has seen an extensive maintenance programme which includes rigging, full engineering overhaul, new generators, new paint, teak decks, plus minor interior and electrical work. Under power, a single Lugger 640hp diesel engine delivers a range of 1,200 nautical miles at 10 knots.

On display at the Palma Superyacht Show, Adela is asking €12,950,000.

A Summary of Sailing Yacht ADELA

The sailing yacht ADELA is a 55 metre 181 (foot) impressive steel boat which was produced from the keel up at Pendennis and designed in the office of Wc Storey and Dijkstra & Partners. The sizeable twin masted schooner ADELA is a particularly distinctive United Kingdom made superyacht which was launched to celebration in 1995. The naval architect responsible for her design details with respect to the yacht was Wc Storey and Dijkstra & Partners. Her interior styling was created by Dijkstra & Partners / Pendennis. She is a modern twin masted schooner.

Classic sailing schooner ADELA is a predecessor of the J-class America's Cup class. She was originally built combining conventional materials and present technology, including lightweight sails, to produce a classic performer.

The Building & Yacht Design with respect to Luxury Yacht ADELA

Wc Storey was the naval architecture company involved in the technical vessel composition for ADELA. Her interior design was realised by Dijkstra & Partners / Pendennis. Wc Storey and Dijkstra & Partners is also associated with the yacht general design work for this boat. In 1995 she was actually launched with triumph in Falmouth and post sea trials and detailing was thereafter passed on to the new owner. Pendennis completed their new build sailing yacht in the United Kingdom. Her main hull was built out of steel. The sailing yacht main superstructure is fabricated largely with teak. The total length of the luxury yacht on deck is 49.74 (163.2 ft). With a beam of 7.9 m / 25.9 feet ADELA has reasonable room. She has a fairly deep draught of 4.75m (15.6ft). She had refit maintenance and modification completed in 2006.

Installed with one LUGGER diesel engines, ADELA will attain a maximum speed of 12 knots. Coupled to the ADELA engines are a single screw propeller. She also has an economical range of 1200 miles whilst motoring at her cruising speed of 10 knots. Her total HP is 640 HP and her total Kilowatts are 471. Regarding bow thruster maneuverability she was fitted with Hps.

The 55.11m/180'10" classic yacht 'Adela' was built by Pendennis in the United Kingdom at their Falmouth shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house Dykstra & Partners and she was completed in 1995. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Dykstra & Partners and she was last refitted in 2015.

Powered by 1 x diesel Lugger (6170A) 640hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 10 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 12 knots with a range of up to 1,200 nautical miles from her 17,916 litre fuel tanks at 10 knots. Her water tanks store around 9,232 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules.
