I dined here as part of a group of 7, and the whole experience was really excellent. The food combinations and flavours and textures were really well thought through and assembled, down to small details like pouring sauces at the table so the textures were... crisp where they were planned to be. Every dish choice was excellent. The wine was lovely, although for the overall standard of the restaurant I’m surprised it wasn’t more extensive. The staff were very friendly, patient with us when we were delayed on arrival and helped with organising taxis the next day, plus very professional in their table service. More

We discovered this restaurant by chance. It is in a small side street close to the marina. The crowd is mostly local and the atmosphere quiet and relaxed. Tables are very well presented and the limited menu focuses on seafood. Delicious fish carpaccio with a... blend of herbs, excellent cod and ray fish with seasonal vegetables. Leave some space for wonderful desserts such as a fresh fruit salad and ginger ice cream or a very light lemon mousse on a salted butter biscuit ! The owner has a wine shop next door so you can be sure that the wine list is well selected. A wonderful dinner experience in Lorient ! More

I would say that french food is always a good bet and would never let us down. Once again, I was right! Very good service, attentive, proactive and with good food suggestion. We chose the 31€ menu which is very well served (good portions). It... was very hard to decide from the menu once all the dishes on the other tables looked delicious. Oysters in Bretagne are, again, a good bet as well as fresh fish. Very quiete ambience but not sleepy! Good for dinners with the soulmate :) More

Had a good meal here. It did not blow my socks off, but it was good. The prices were a little high. The food was good, bit average for a place of this nature. The cheese plate was very good and I highly recommend it.... Steak was average but cooked perfectly and after dinner coffee was below average. Service and atmosphere are great! More

We got there and we had to insist to get a table. The quality of the food was superlative, so we definitely advise it (fish of course), the wine was as well very good. But all the time we felt unwelcomed as the waiter was... very dry. The bill was correct, apart the calvados that was billed 12 euros for a very small glass. More

Service up to standard, plates are nicely decorated with a very fair portion of food on the plate. We had the basic set price menu, and while not cheap it was reasonably priced. The fish soup and marinated sardines starters were lovely, and we all enjoyed the mains. The Rhubarb tarte for desert was actually fantastic, and I appreciated the friendly staff who... supported us in navigating the menu despite not being fluent in English. We would go again More

It's a nice medium sized restaurant. Nice design, good and warm service. Food was great and they gave some good advice on wine accordance.

We dined here on a Friday evening, table booked in advance, Food was of good standard, we both had scallops to start cooked perfectly with Filet of Julien and pork for main course, again cooked very well, the restaurant was very busy with seemingly many... return customers which is always a good sign. There is also has a Cave next door as part of the business so the restaurant has a massive wine list for those who know their wines. Service was good with the head waiter being mildly eccentric but pleasant. Whilst not being my favourite place in Lorient I'd still comfortably recommend it as somewhere to spend an evening out for a good dining experience. More

We had an enjoyable lunch in this restaurant. The food was tasty and well prepared. The codfish aïoli was excellent. Service is efficient and fast. The price is a bit high in my opinion.

Un restaurant qui est un exemple de professionnalisme.Le plaisir de manger avec du linge ,un personnel en tenue (non en jean) le patron maître d'hôtel sachant bien vous conseiller,sans insistance ... que demander de plus avec une cuisine savoureuse, originale et bien présentée !!! Nous avons découvert Le Yachtman à l'occasion de l'anniversaire de ma compagne... un bonheur de soirée : excellente cuisine (originale, subtile, goûteuse...), excellent vin (nous partions sur une bouteille 2 fois plus chère, le chef nous a orientés sur un délicieux Bouzeron en accord PARFAIT... avec les plats), excellent accueil (de l'apprenti serveur au chef, tous pros, très sympas, souriants, sans manières), atmosphère super agréable, à la fois cosy et cool... et pour un budget très raisonnable. Très sincèrement c'est une merveilleuse découverte je passe et alléché par la carte je trouve une place Je choisis avec les conseils du patron qui fait lui-même le choix des deux vins blancs qui accompagneront mon repas... excellent choix et petit prix : le mariage... est parfait avec le poulpe et le Saint-Pierre Pour le dessert le choix de la boisson est imposé... avec un baba au rhum je vous laisse deviner la bouteille sur la table... Nous avons passé une très agréable soirée entre amis dans ce beau restaurant situé près du Port de Plaisance Un vrai régal pour les yeux et les papilles L'ensemble du personnel est très sympathique comme Yoann, un peu blagueur mais pas trop et très souriant😃,... Eddy qui n'aime pas les supporters du SB29 mais qui sait faire la part des choses quand un Brestois sympa s'installe à une de ses tables 😉, et enfin une jeune fille très agréable, professionnelle et souriante comme rarement dans la restauration Bref, je recommande ce restaurant à 100% J'espère que nos supporters auront l'élégance de se respecter lors de nos rencontres du 20 décembre 2023 à Brest et du 31 mars 2024 à Lorient Bonne continuation à toute l'équipe du Yachtman et merci encore à vous pour votre talent en cuisine et en salle👌😋 Plus

A woman recommended this restaurant to us on the airplane, and it was right by our hotel. There was a wine cellar next to the restaurant, and as I called the man came outside to us. He was able to fit us in that evening, and spent a lot of time explaining the menu to us in English. We enjoyed the French dinner and wine he suggested. This was our best meal in Lorient!

I dined here as part of a group of 7, and the whole experience was really excellent. The food combinations and flavours and textures were really well thought through and assembled, down to small details like pouring sauces at the table so the textures were... crisp where they were planned to be. Every dish choice was excellent. The wine was lovely, although for the overall standard of the restaurant I’m surprised it wasn’t more extensive. The staff were very friendly, patient with us when we were delayed on arrival and helped with organising taxis the next day, plus very professional in their table service. More

We have just had a fabulous meal at Le Yachtman. The service is friendly and attentive. We had a round table for four in charming and elegant surroundings. Although we only had the set lunch, well priced, there was great attention to detail in each... dish. Simple ingredients, nicely presented, with delicious taste combinations. We discovered this restaurant by chance. It is in a small side street close to the marina. The crowd is mostly local and the atmosphere quiet and relaxed. Tables are very well presented and the limited menu focuses on seafood. Delicious fish carpaccio with a... blend of herbs, excellent cod and ray fish with seasonal vegetables. Leave some space for wonderful desserts such as a fresh fruit salad and ginger ice cream or a very light lemon mousse on a salted butter biscuit ! The owner has a wine shop next door so you can be sure that the wine list is well selected. A wonderful dinner experience in Lorient ! More

I would say that french food is always a good bet and would never let us down. Once again, I was right! Very good service, attentive, proactive and with good food suggestion. We chose the 31€ menu which is very well served (good portions). It... was very hard to decide from the menu once all the dishes on the other tables looked delicious. Oysters in Bretagne are, again, a good bet as well as fresh fish. Very quiete ambience but not sleepy! Good for dinners with the soulmate :) More

This is a good restaurant in the heart of Lorient, we had menus at 32 euro and the food was very good. Foie gras and fish of the day were very tasty, the desert was cook's speciality, it was good but not great. They have... a good list of wines, also fish and moules were very popular as I saw on the other tables. Service was good, they speak good english and they were polite.Be sure to have a reservation if you are going in the evening. More

Had a good meal here. It did not blow my socks off, but it was good. The prices were a little high. The food was good, bit average for a place of this nature. The cheese plate was very good and I highly recommend it.... Steak was average but cooked perfectly and after dinner coffee was below average. Service and atmosphere are great! More

This is a wonderfully located restaurant at the port. It serves really fresh seafood dishes from a small, but, obviously fresh menu. There is a great choice of wines. We all had moules-frites, which were up there with the best we have had before. It... is a bit on the expensive side, but, I suppose you are paying for the location and the fresh ingredients. More

We got there and we had to insist to get a table. The quality of the food was superlative, so we definitely advise it (fish of course), the wine was as well very good. But all the time we felt unwelcomed as the waiter was... very dry. The bill was correct, apart the calvados that was billed 12 euros for a very small glass. More

Good restaurant decorated with style in the heart of Lorient. The ratio quality/price is pretty good as the first set menu is at 21.50 €. Service up to standard, plates are nicely decorated with a very fair portion of food on the plate. We had the basic set price menu, and while not cheap it was reasonably priced. The fish soup and marinated sardines starters were lovely, and we all enjoyed the mains. The Rhubarb tarte for desert was actually fantastic, and I appreciated the friendly staff who... supported us in navigating the menu despite not being fluent in English. We would go again More

It's a nice medium sized restaurant. Nice design, good and warm service. Food was great and they gave some good advice on wine accordance.

We dined here on a Friday evening, table booked in advance, Food was of good standard, we both had scallops to start cooked perfectly with Filet of Julien and pork for main course, again cooked very well, the restaurant was very busy with seemingly many... return customers which is always a good sign. There is also has a Cave next door as part of the business so the restaurant has a massive wine list for those who know their wines. Service was good with the head waiter being mildly eccentric but pleasant. Whilst not being my favourite place in Lorient I'd still comfortably recommend it as somewhere to spend an evening out for a good dining experience. More

We can go! Service fast and atmosphere are great! The restaurant is not far from the city center. Ideal surroundings. Nice to have a dinner couples, The food was fantastic, as was the service.

We had an enjoyable lunch in this restaurant. The food was tasty and well prepared. The codfish aïoli was excellent. Service is efficient and fast. The price is a bit high in my opinion.
