Lynx Yachts’ presents the Adventure 24, the Ultimate Exploration Vessel

Lynx

To redefine luxury exploration in a compact 80-foot vessel, Lynx Yachts designed and built the most amazing masterpiece, the Adventure 24. The reputable Dutch builder’s excellent track record for high quality builds has this time surpassed itself.

Despite being the smallest of the Adventure series, this yacht represents a fusion of cutting-edge technology, unparalleled comfort, and unrivalled versatility. She boasts a stable steel displacement steel hull for a better stability and more comfortable cruising to be totally at ease while cruising onboard.

From remote islands to bustling coastal towns, the Adventure 24 offers an unmatched experience at sea thanks to its solid and robust hull and top-of-the-line engineering system, she also has a trans-Atlantic range at a slow speed.

One of the standout features of the Adventure 24 is its impressive foredeck carrying capacity, you can fit a tender up to 6m along with some jet skis.

Capable of accommodating a 6-meter rib and two jet skis, this vessel provides guests with unparalleled access to water-based activities. Whether it's exploring hidden coves or racing across the waves, the Adventure 24 is equipped for every challenge.

Beyond its adventure capabilities, the Adventure 24 is also designed with practicality and convenience in mind. Its compact size allows it to anchor in a wide range of locations, including those with restrictive coastal protection regulations. This makes it the perfect choice for cruising the Mediterranean waters, where size restrictions often limit access to prime anchorage spots.

Furthermore, the Adventure 24 features a simplified operating system, allowing owners to operate the vessel with ease or with a reduced crew. For those who prefer more hands-on service, the vessel can accommodate up to four crew members, ensuring a seamless cruising experience.

The Adventure 24, was designed with a flexible layout that can be tailored to suit individual preferences. From expansive entertainment spaces to intimate dining areas, owners have the freedom to create their ideal onboard environment and customize the yacht to their taste.

Designed by Bernd Weel, the Adventure 24 boasts the signature sturdy and futuristic look of Lynx Yachts. With an interior design by Julian Moore and the naval engineering by Francesco Ruiz, this vessel embodies the quality and craftsmanship synonymous with the Dutch shipyard.

Despite its smaller size, the Adventure 24 offers impressive interior volume, with four generous cabins including two VIP cabins and two twin cabins. Owners can also opt for a three-cabin layout, complete with a lavish full-beam owner's suite. The client can choose a three or four guest stateroom layout on the lower deck. The three cabin layout provides a very nice full beam master stateroom.

As Lynx Yachts continues to push the boundaries of yacht design and innovation, the Adventure 24 stands as a testament to their commitment to excellence. With its launch on the horizon, this remarkable vessel is poised to inspire a new generation of adventurers to set sail and explore the world's oceans in style.

Second YXT 24 support vessel takes shape at Lynx Yachts

Dutch yard  Lynx Yachts  has released the first in-build photos of the  second hull in its YXT 24 series  of  superyacht support vessels .

Sold back in May to an American client with a passion for watersports, this 26.3 metre aluminium vessel will be delivered next summer and go on display at the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show .

As these new images reveal, the steel hull and aluminium superstructure are largely complete. The yard adds that the owner has visited the Nijerk facility and is pleased with the progress made so far.

Speaking earlier this year, Filippo Rossi, sales and marketing manager at Lynx Yachts, said: "It has been a pleasure to work with this client. His passion for yachting and for the sea is infectious. He knows exactly how he wants to use his YXT and this has helped us to adapt the vessel for him.”

Accommodation on the YXT 24 is for four guests and four crewmembers, and the yard has teamed up with Darnet Design to create the interiors for this latest version.

Key features include a flexible 75 square metre deck, ideal for carrying tenders and superyacht water toys . On the second YXT 24, this space will be partly used for carrying the owner’s Land Rover Defender, allowing him to explore on land as well as by sea.

Power comes from a pair of Caterpillar C18 ACERT engines for a top speed of 16 knots and a maximum cruising range of 1,250 nautical miles at 14 knots.

Other projects currently being developed at the Nijerk-based yard include the Lynx Adventure series of compact explorer yachts, with the first model, the Adventure 32, recently revealed. Meanwhile, 32 metre and 36 metre versions of the YXT support vessel series are under proposal.

A Reporter's Notebook: Comparing the Journeys

By Max Frankel Special to The New York Times

A Reporter's Notebook: Comparing the Journeys

MOSCOW, May 24—Peking was an adventure; Moscow is a meeting of merchants. In China, the President was Marco Polo, marveling at the novelty of it all on a journey of discovery. Here he is the traveling salesman, hopeful but cagey about opening some new accounts in a familiar territory.

Sooner or later it is bound to happen, but so far Mr. Nixon has not even labeled this event “historic.” He is selling goods and services, not atmosphere, he says, by which he means not only agreements on arms control and grain and link‐ups in space, but also an elaborate schedule of Soviet‐American commissions and conferences that should at the least send the incomes of innkeepers and translators soaring.

And the Russians are buy ing—and plumping for more. They are wining and dining the American reporters (and suffering all the shame that they must from comparisons with Chinese cuisine and service) to spread the word that cooperation, even col laboration, joint peace‐keep ing and a “businesslike” re lationship are essential not only to prevent war but also to enhance the lives of Russians, Americans and all mankind.

The commitment to accom modation, the informed Rus sians seem to be saying, is total. When Col. Ralph D. Albertazzie, President Nix on's pilot, asked for an empty little field so that his crew could play some softball and work out each day, he was given nothing less than Len in Stadium, the Olympic‐size coliseum, with 103,000 empty seats.

There are more lobbyists per square foot in the sum mit press room of the Intour ist Hotel than in the main corridor of Washington's Senate Office Building. They are top‐ranking Soviet edi tors and commentators ask ing every familiar American face, “Well, how's it going?”

—knowing full well that the visitors know nothing about the private talks between President Nixon and the So viet leaders but eagerly seek ing reassurance that the So vie desire for positive results, favorable reviews and up beat reportage is being duly recorded around the world.

The Soviet and American mimeograph machines are grinding out a daily agree ment—or two—to keep the analysts at bay. Every eve ning brings an elaborate sign ing cremony in the Great Kremlin Palace, even for some accords that are mere ly previously struck bargains transformed into the syntax of treaties. The atmosphere is such that if they run short, the conferees might well throw an off‐night cham pagne celebration for the ob vious agreement that this week there shall be many

The unmistakable message, from both sides, is that Moscow is not Peking, that the customary summit meet ing “froth"—to use Mr. Nix on's word—is being sup planted here by “substance” and, from the Soviet point of view, that the business of nuclear superpowers is a much more weighty matter than the diplomatic ex changes and communiques of you‐know‐where.

There are some Russians as well as Americans who believe that the President's journey to China was in fact crucial in generating this So viet eagerness to advertise new relationship. A few be lieve that the Vietnam flare up last month would surely have disrupted the summit meeting if it were not for this overriding necessity to upstage the Peking journey.

There have been striking similarities as well as differ ences in these back‐to‐back Presidential excursions to the citadels of Communism.

Tim Elbourne, the ener getic White House advance man, typified one whole category of contrasts. In Peking, he welcomed the summit travelers with an accurate prediction of a rich experience, spacious accom modations and elegant serv ice. Here, his greeting of fered the prospect of fun and exciting changes of schedule or procedure. like the case of the telephones and Telex machines that had been “misplaced” on arrival morning.

“They are trying, they are really trying for this one,” said a harried official of the American Embassy to some old Russian hands, “but nothing quite works right.”

But then amidst the medio cre food and cramped quar ters the Russians are serving up “Swan Lake” instead of “Red Detachment of Women.” Instead of taking sterile little tours to a few showplace fac tories and farms, the Ameri can reporters, plane crews and secretaries are scattering all over town and in a few cases at least looking up old friends and experiencing at least an occasional bit of gen uine conversation.

“Aren't there some Rus sians who really like the idea of the United States being stuck in Vietnam?” one old friend was asked.

“Not most people,” he re plied. “For the most part, there is hope here that this experience will reduce your interest in intervention else where. And perhaps this ex perience will have such effect on us, too.”

Yet here, as in China, the structure of Communist gov ernment and society imposes itself on the summit experi ence.

The President has been elaborately shielded from the Soviet people, and their curi osity, not to mention their possible interest in applaud ing his presence, has been discouraged. And as in Pe king, the real content of Mr. Nixon's private meetings with Leonid I. Brezhnev, the Sec retary General of the party, is hidden behind the screen of those diplomatic agreements and may remain secret for years.

Here, as in Peking, there is a sense of American retreat in the world. Soviet officials say that not only Vietnam but also economic strain, the growing competition of Japan and Western Europe and de bilitating social crisis in the United States have given Americans a more modest standing in the world and have led them to a more “re alistic” acceptance of the So viet Union as an equal part ner in both arms and com merce.

There is no crowing about this among the Russians. On the contrary, they foresee economic challenges in both Europe and Asia in which Moscow and Washington will find themselves jointly cast as outsiders. And they feel that the Russians and Amer icans may wish to respond to these challenges in a spirit of cooperation. They foresee fu ture efforts by other nations to upset one or another re gional power balance, by which time they hope for pattern of joint response.

Finally here, as in Peking, the commotions of summitry seem fairly well insulated from Russian domestic life.

There was a time in the nineteen‐fifties and nineteen sixties when every warm breeze from the West was thought to bring not only a better deal for the Soviet consumer but also a new measure of cultural contact and relaxation of ideological controls.

The new Soviet leadership's commitment to consumerism may indeed account for much of the spirit surrounding this meeting, with its promise of American trade credits and access to American tech nology. But cultural inter changes have settled into a decade‐old pattern: Van Cli burn is here playing the pi ano and Roberta Peters is singing in recital, and they are impressing the same old audiences and embracing the same old friends.

Moreover, the Soviet lead ers seem to have found the formula by which to protect their political system from alien ideological viruses. They are yielding on pants for women and rock music for the young, but they intend to tolerate nothing that Mr. Nixon has in mind when he speaks of a free exchange of ideas. The warmth above does not seem to reach the permafrost below. Moscow is not Peking, but it remains farther still from Washington.

Lynx Yachts launches first Crossover 27 yacht

The Dutch shipyard, Lynx Yachts, has rounded off the first quarter of 2022 with a major announcement: the launch of its first 27.4-metre Crossover 27 superyacht,  Avontuur.

Avontuur,  which first hit the water on 18th March, is the first in Lynx Yachts’ Crossover series and boasts numerous custom features in order to meet her American owner’s requirements. Carrying the name ‘ Avontuur’  (Dutch for ‘adventure’), the yacht’s design and layout maximise tender and toy storage to suit the needs of her outdoorsy and sporty owner, whilst still retaining her stylish superyacht appearance.

the concept

The vessel’s initial layout from the yard included four staterooms, comprising an owner’s cabin, a VIP cabin, and two twin cabins with the crew quarters located aft of the engine room. However, the owner of this particular Crossover opted to change this, with  Avontuur  offering three guest cabins and with the crew quarters also integrated into the guest space.

With the concept design and engineering taken care of in house, the vessel features exterior design from the drawing boards of the Dutch studio Bernd Weel, interiors by the French designer Franck Darnet and naval architecture by the Alkmaar-based studio Diana Yacht Design.

Standout features on board  Avontuur  include her large light-filled main deck saloon, as well as her 70-square-metre main deck which transforms easily into a spacious entertainment area once the toys, an Air Nautique G23 and a five-metre RIB, are launched.

The sundeck is equipped with a crane, and will house two Yamaha Waverunners and two stand-up jetskis. The lazarette/toy storage provides ample space for watersports equipment such as stand-up paddleboards, surfboards, canoes, scuba diving equipment and much more.

crossover 27 performance

Performance-wise, the Crossover 27 also does not disappoint, reaching a maximum speed of 14 knots, a cruising speed of 12.5 knots and boasting an impressive eco range of 1,800 nautical miles. The vessel’s power is provided by twin Caterpillar C12.9–2 x 850hpat 2300 rpm engines.

Slim Bouricha, Founder & Owner of Lynx Yachts, commented at the launch: “We are delighted to launch  Avontuur  following a fantastic and fruitful collaboration with her Californian owner. He is a seasoned and sporty yachtsman who was involved at every single level of the build, and it has been a real pleasure working together.”

Delivery of the yacht will take place in April, after which  Avontuur  will make her maiden trip around the Mediterranean to enjoy the best of summer cruising, before making her way to the USA at the end of the season.

Lynx Yachts’ Crossover 27 brings together the best of two worlds: offering the robustness, versatility and generous storage space of a support vessel whilst still providing the comfort, elegance and customisation of a superyacht. This makes her ideal for the next generation of adventurous owners who want to make the most of their time at sea, whether through watersports or exploration. Other series from Lynx Yachts include the Adventure Series – combining superyacht luxury with exceptional tender and toy carrying capacity – and the YXT series of robust and flexible shadow vessels.

The Crossover 27 yacht  Avontuur  will make her debut at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival.
