“Peaceful sunrise... Fantastic atmosphere.” Review of Placencia Yacht Club

PERFECT place to watch the sunset - one of the best on/near the peninsula. The food and drinks were fantastic. And the overall vibe was peaceful and charming. My boyfriend and I live in the village and we can say this is one of our new favorite spots. As we arrived to Placencia Yacht Club, we were greeted by two cute pups, and amazing host, Caroline. Placencia caye is just a one-minute boat ride from the municipal pier... and very worth the quick trip. This is a must-go whether you're on vacation or living in Placencia!

We stayed on a private island right down from the Placencia Yacht Club and stopped by and we were very impressed with the amazing views and great owners. The drinks are amazing and very much enjoyed our time sitting at the beautiful bar and the owners are so nice.

I called to find out how to get to the Yacht Club. Caroline, the owner, answered and she was very nice and helpful. I made a reservation and she said that her neighbor with a boat will pick us up and drop us off. Caroline greeted us when we arrived. We wanted to watch the sunset and hav happy hour. The server was very nice. The wing appetizer that we ordered was delicious. We didn’t have dinner since the menu was limited. Highly recommend for the service, happy hour, and the view.

This place provides the most pleasant atmosphere in Placencia to eat, drink, or just hang out. There’s a warmth and spirit there, almost like walking into a scene from “Cheers”. Great food, great drinks, great prices, but the true jewel of the place is Caroline herself. She makes everyone feel right at home, regardless of who you are, or where you are from. No trip to Placencia is complete without spending an evening at “Caroline’s place”. Five stars every time !

YOU MUST GO! 😍 The venue is comfortable, very pretty, clean and the food is outstanding. The owners make you feel like home. They truly share their piece of paradise with you. Thank you so much for your hospitality & kindness. We will be back here soon.

This place is a real treasure and a great little find off the beaten track - we wouldn’t have known about it except that a fellow traveller highly recommended it. A quick WhatsApp was answered promptly and arrangements for a water taxi were made. The... place is very sweet and nicely decorated- basically a floating dock with a Super cute bar on it with a great view of the sunset. The host/bartender/owner/cook/server handled a crowd with grace & a smile even though she was all alone that day. Snacks were yum and cocktails were great! This was a true find! Not to be missed! After my very first trip to the Placencia Yacht Club restaurant, I have decided that this is without a doubt my favorite dining spot in Placencia, Belize. Owner/operator/chef/ ambassador of good will Caroline makes a trip to her establishment not just a meal, but a... true dining experience! The food was spectacular, the overall ambience was great, the short boat ride was pleasant, but the best part of the evening was the personal interaction and attention to detail by Caroline herself. Entrees we’re spot on and at a very modest price for food of such quality. The breathtaking view of the sunset over the town harbor completed our perfect evening at the Placencia Yacht Club. We will definitely be back! More

June 2023 We came across this stunning little club during our recent bareboat Moorings charter in Belize. Local forcast called for pm T- storms and high winds and waves, so we decided to seek safe harbor for the night at a dock rather than be... on the hook. I reached out to Caroline, who manages the club, the day prior to see if they could accommodate us on 50 ft catamaran. And even with our spotty internet connection, she was extremely responsive. Returning texts realtime. Flexible with holding dock for us, and on approach, had already started to boil the water for her home made house special- spaghetti carbonara. Delicious ! They were quick to assist with docking and we were also greeted by their swimming dogs. Rates were more than reasonable. The facility is tiny, but boasts full service with shower, toilets, and bar/restaurant with fun swim pad. Snorkeling right off the dock is awesome. The Placencia harbor is just across the way. A short dingy ride or water taxi ($5usd pp round trip). We left our MHYC club burgee (MHYC.US) and headed off to next port the following morning. Thank You Caroline and Beat. Keep up the good work. We stumbled upon this place whike Caroline made us feel incredibly welcomed and made delicious drinks for our family. We loved it so much we came back two days later with our entire family where everybody ordered drinks swim in the water and watch the... sunset. It was a highlight of our trip, and Caroline is a wonderful host. You must go! More

Real talk... We read a review and decided to check it out. Here's what you need to know. To get there: call the club. If you don't have bad energy, they'll send a boat. We paid $15 USD for the round trip (2 people from... the pier by Big T. Rum, round trip). That gets you there and back. Details. Moving on. What you need to know is Caroline is a gem of a human being and she (and her husband) own the place. Impressed. They're from Swizerland. We all need to meet people like Caroline. Better for having met her. Be cool. Get a drink. Enjoy yourself. Eat some food. Enjoy yourself. The club is at the end of the pier. When we went, we were the only ones there. Enjoy it. What an awesome place. Sitting over the water a newly renovated restaurant with the best views in Placencia. The owners, husband and wife are chef, bar tender, and server. There are excellent at all of it. The drinks are great the food fantastic and views... are unbelievable. Make sure you bring cash as credit cards are not accepted. More

What a gem! Caroline is the owner, bartender and host. Hospitality galore. We called ahead for a reservation and she organized a water taxi to take us over to the Yacht Club for the sunset and dinner. The Placencia Yacht club is a beautifully decorated... costal themed restaurant and bar in an open air building situated on a dock at Placencia Caye (across from the Southern tip of Placencia). From the moment we arrived, the evening felt magical. She invited us to sit anywhere and move around this beautiful venue. We watched the sunset front the adirondak chairs and then moved to the hammock chairs for a drink before sitting down at our table. The food was incredible from the appetizer to the choice of two main pasta dinners. Caroline started this restaurant up from scratch and works it along with her chef. The pride and enjoyment she has in this restaurant was shared with us for every minute of the night. We would recommend this to anyone and look forward to going back on our next trip! More

Whether you’re coming by boat or kayak or SUP this place is magical. Caroline remembers your name and makes delicious drinks and apps that warm everyone’s hearts. Her wide smile and sweet dogs greeted us loudly but they are well behaved and love belly rubs.... The sunset from the open deck with plenty of seating including swings is incredible. For the last day of our travels through Belize and Guatamala we decided to have a long lazy afternoon at the yacht club. What an inspired choice and a great way to finish our holiday. Hacon looked after us with drinks and a steady supply... of very tasty snacks. Caroline arranged them water taxi and was there to greet us and get us settled. A GREAT Place over the water

We, Caroline Imfeld and Beat Rettich are running this place since January 2021. We moved from  Switzerland  to Belize in 2019 and found this treasure while looking for a dock for our Hatteras motor yacht. 

Simplicity on a high level is our aim and to make our guests happy.
