“The climate impact of large power yachts is significant,” the future owner told Sunreef in a recent interview. “We have taken extensive steps to impact the climate crises, therefore we could only consider a power yacht if it would incorporate technologies that are rapidly scaling in other sectors such as solar energy and electric vehicles.”

The cat in question certainly delivers in terms of green tech. The 80-footer will feature the yard’s patented solar skin system . Roughly 2,152 square feet of solar panels will be integrated into the hull sides, superstructure and bimini to generate up to 36kWp of clean energy to power the electric engines and onboard amenities.

In addition, the craft will be equipped with a high-tech battery bank that is 30 percent lighter than the industry standard. As a result, the vessel is more efficient than heavier competitors. Indeed, Sunreef says the practically silent cat has “an infinite range.” The model can be even fitted with a kite to increase the top speed, though this particular owner hasn’t added it.

Onboard, the materials will all be ethically sourced and eco-friendly. There will be a water purifying system to generate drinking water and a highly efficient DC-powered air-conditioning system. In terms of the aesthetics, the owner says regular on-site visits to the family-run yard enabled them to make quick and easy design decisions about layout, decor and furnishings.

The new cat is currently under construction at Sunreef’s facilities in Gdansk. Once delivered, she will spend summers in the Northeast and winters in the Bahamas and the Caribbean.

Description.

Built and equipped for extended voyages, the 80 Sunreef Power Kokomo is home to a family of five. This custom 80-footer, fitted with twin 1200 HP engines, was designed to provide comfort, safety, and luxury for private navigation plans including exploration of the Mediterranean and the Caribbean Islands.

Kokomo’s relaxing décor comprises of light colors and natural fabrics that exude luxury. The power catamaran ’s owners opted for an interior design reflecting the atmosphere of a tropical beach with beige tones, eucalyptus veneers, and linen upholstery.

The yacht’s main deck saloon is a warm and welcoming retreat with plenty of light-filled living and lounging space. To portside, the yacht’s galley features full-height fridges, voluminous storage all around, and other top-quality amenities. The galley’s custom-designed kitchen island conceals a pop-up rotating 55” TV and provides a great spot for serving drinks.

To starboard, the lounging space offers a large sofa and custom-designed coffee tables matching the yacht’s beach-inspired décor. Towards the bow, the 80 Sunreef Power Kokomo’s saloon features a dining space with seating for eight as well as an alternative lounging area accessorized with an L-shaped sofa.

The motor yacht ’s four-cabin layout includes a generous master stateroom fitted with a king-size bed, a sofa, and dressing as well as a vast ensuite bathroom. Kokomo also features one VIP and two big guest cabins all complementing the relaxed decor of the yacht with the same light color scheme and rattan finishes.

Kokomo’s aft cockpit profits from the yacht’s generous beam, offering a large, centrally positioned sofa with a modular backrest. Beneath the sofa, the power catamaran’s garage conceals a big jet-ski, water toys, and a refueling station. The hydraulic aft platform provides plenty of space to store and launch the tender, but also serves as a swim platform when lowered. The cockpit also features a large dining table, a daybed, ample storage, and separate access to the crew quarters.

The luxury catamaran ’s flybridge has an open layout providing numerous seating and lounging options, along with a wet bar with barbecue and a dining area. Kokomo’s bow terrace is accessed straight from the main saloon and includes a fantastic lounging spot with panoramic views.

Thanks to the in-house designed and developed solar panel system covering up to 200m², the 80 Sunreef Power maximizes solar energy generation with 40kWp of capacity. Owners have the option of using solar panels, wind turbines, and hydro-electric power derived from the propellers, to charge the ultra-light battery bank which are completely state-of-the-art. It's important to note that these exclusive lithium batteries are 30% lighter than the average marine battery and outperforms it.

Building a Sunreef 80 electric power catamaran allows you to cruise in total luxury and comfort without vibrations, noise, or fumes. If going 100% fully electric is not in your plans, Sunreef has also developed a hybrid model so that you can enjoy the best of both worlds. The hybrid model combines the advantages of the fully-electric motors with the performance of thermal engines. Sunreef can even add a large kite to the yacht for even greater results.

Taking luxury and seaworthiness to a new dimension, this dynamic and elegant craft boasts an authentic power catamaran design. The yacht’s dynamic hull and superstructure stretch the living spaces to the extreme, offering infinite options for a bespoke layout and décor. The 80 Sunreef Power was elected as Best Power Catamaran at the prestigious World Yachts Trophies.

With a bold, contemporary hull styling, the 80 Sunreef Power incorporates classic stainless steel portlights, teak sole decks, high bulwarks and subtle ambience lighting. Her massive garage combined with an aft platform allows the 80 Sunreef Power to take her dinghy, water toys and jet-ski anywhere she goes.

Easily accessed from the salon, the yacht’s full-beam bow lounge is a vast, soothing retreat with amazing amounts of space for sunning and lounging.

The immense volumes in the hulls of the 80 Sunreef Power give plenty of room to tailor every unit’s layout to the most specific requirements. The crew quarters along with the galley and crew mess can be accessed directly from the aft cockpit for more privacy on board. Multiple layout configurations are available to set up luxurious guest cabins for a supreme level of comfort.

Hull number one of the 80 Sunreef Power, "Aria" is equipped with two 1200 HP engines and is not the electric version. She boasts a 3-cabin layout includes a sumptuous master suite, two guest cabins and an impressive main deck saloon. Her flybridge houses a waterfall-fed spa pool with a custom-built bar and oversized sunpads. Aria’s garage carries a large PWC, sea bobs and a fuel tank to fill up both the tender and the jet-ski. Boat Description

The 80 Sunreef Power Eco is the avant-garde of eco-responsible motor-yachts. Powered by 4 electric motors with up to 720 KW of power with a top speed of 15kts.  Power can be provided by up to 1 Megawatt of proprietary chemistry battery bank that charges quickly in a couple hours and has a lifespan of 15 years.  Power is provided by the solar skin, shore power or generator as needed.   On anchor without any charging source all the house systems can operate silently for up to 4.5 days. 

This is fully-customizable luxury catamaran can be configured for personal or charter layouts, and galley up or down.   It utalizes the latest innovations in the industry to achieve outstanding energy efficiency. Thanks to Sunreef Yachts’ light and ultramodern solar power system producing up to 34 KW of power per day light hour, the 80 Sunreef Power maximizes solar energy generation capacity.

The electric catamaran is fitted with a state of the art, ultralight battery bank (30% lighter than the average batteries used in the nautical industry) with a density of less than 5.2kg / kWh for increased weight-efficiency and performance.

The fully-electric 80 Sunreef Power provides for silent cruising and long range with electric motors powered from the dedicated battery bank. 

Green features on board include a high voltage DC-powered air conditioning system, a water-making and purifying system to generate drinking water, a non-toxic bottom paint. A fully customizable luxury craft, the 80 Sunreef Power electric catamaran offers infinite décor possibilities and access to a broad selection of ethically-sourced and eco-responsible finishing materials.
