Why are Boat Shows Popular? | boat show calendar
Boat shows are popular since they allow the general public to learn and understand the industry better and appreciate and adopt the boating lifestyle. Boat shows are an industry itself, with different international organizations focused on managing and staging boat shows annually.
They are held in all 50 states and throughout the globe in various countries. The season generally starts in October and continues till March. Most small and regional shows are held at marinas or inside convention centers, which makes them easy to browse.
What to do at a boat show?
Boats for sale are, without a doubt, the main attraction of a boat show , but there’s so much more you can do while attending one. From trying new foods to indulging in different water activities, a boat show has a lot to offer.
- Bring a camera or a notebook to record notes along with information on different boat sellers, and be sure to hand them your business card. This will help you solidify your network.
- By interacting with the dealers, check out brand-new deals and the latest boating technology.
- Browse through the shops and take home a souvenir or two.
- Get “hands-on” knowledge regarding a boat or a boating accessory by attending a seminar or workshop to see their inner workings.
- Indulge in some delectable foods from the stalls.
- Some boat shows offer water activities, such as fishing and scuba diving. Grab your friends and family and make new memories with those fun aquatic adventures.
You got your event admission (tickets) and ready to see the attractions along with the gathering of attendees & boaters. Make sure to look for bargains for you to purchase and boat displays and latest boat models. Expect to se clothing for boaters and learn about the latest boat devices and electronics (products/accessories/technology) from special exhibits by big name exhibitors. All this will add to the experience for a watercraft show whether it was put on by an insurance company or a boating industry association. Yacht shows could even have brokerages or NMMA/BoatUS booths.
Are boat shows the best time to buy? | Do boat shows have good deals
Boat shows are an excellent time for dealers to display their products and make big sales. Since the competition is fierce, you can most likely avail of big discounts and benefit from good deals. You also get the opportunity to browse a huge variety of boats and select one that fits your needs perfectly. You can get expert advice about vessels you’re interested in from competitors since they’re more likely to point out drawbacks or flaws of the craft.
At the end of the day, the best time to buy a boat is when you’re ready for investment and adventure. Whether you buy a boat from a boat show, through a broker, or privately through a website, do a thorough background check and get an unbiased second opinion.

Sailing A Catamaran
What are the best boat shows for sailboats.
With hundreds of boat shows happening each year, I wondered which boat shows were best for sailing. So many boat shows are more like regional home shows where there are more people selling non-marine products as those selling boat products and services. If you are buying a small boat for a lake or river like a bass boat or pontoon boat, then many of these regional shows are for you. But what about catamarans and sail boats? I did some research and this is what I found.
Only a select few boat shows are focused specifically on sailing and sailboats and with the capabilities of accommodating large sailboats in the water. So What are the Best Boat Shows for Sailboats?
The Best Boat Shows for Sailboats are:
- Annapolis Sailboat Show
Miami Boat Show
Fort Lauderdale Boat Show
Cannes Yachting Festival
International Multihull Boat Show
San Diego International Boat Show
United States Sailboat Show (Annapolis Fall Sailboat Show)
Annapolis is known as the sailboat capital of the world, so it is no surprise that is hosts one of the best sailboat shows in the world. There is a fall and spring show. Both shows take place in historic, downtown Annapolis, which is right on the water. The US Naval Academy is right downtown as well and together with the show provides a beautiful setting and atmosphere for a boat show. The spring show is a smaller, more regional show in April, but does have several nice sailboats and great seminars for those wanting to learn how to sail (first time sailors) or with interest in cruising full time (Cruisers University). The fall show is the granddaddy of sailboat shows and takes place in October. This is a very popular show with boaters that are in the United States and Canada for the summer months waiting for hurricane season to pass before making their way back south to warmer weather in Florida, the Bahamas, the BVI’s and the rest of the Caribbean. This show has more sailboats, first time sailing seminars (Learn to Sail) and Cruisers University Seminars. This is a must if you are a diehard sailor or just getting started.
Annapolis is a great town for sailing. Historic buildings and the United States Naval Academy combined with the harbor, excellent restaurants, beautiful architecture history, music, pubs and plenty of fellow sailors to share your tall tales with. I don’t think there is a better venue for a sailboat show. I love Annapolis and all that it has to offer.
The international city of Miami hosts a large boat show with approximately 1400 boats including many sailboat and catamaran manufacturer’s being present with several in water boat showings. Catering to sailing enthusiasts, Pier 9 is a dedicated sailing specific area. The Miami boat show takes place in February, which is a great time to escape to tropical Florida for nice weather and a huge exhibitor area and many boats to see.
Miami is an excellent city to host a boat show. Enjoy the tropical February weather, Cuban and Latin food and Latin music, Latin flair and all of the nostalgia and art deco that Miami has to offer. This is a very cool place with so many quaint restaurants, bars, culture and life.
The Fort Lauderdale Boat Show has been in existence for 60 years and boasts over 1500 boats, 1200 exhibitors and over 110,000 visitors. This is a huge show. It takes place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (just North of Miami) at the end of October and beginning of November each year. For those sailors that attend the Annapolis Boat Show, this is a natural follow up. If you miss Annapolis, then Ft. Lauderdale is another great option. If you are sailing south down the ICW for warmer winter weather, Fort Lauderdale is a nice stop after leaving Annapolis and before leaving the United States. Fort Lauderdale is more than Where the Boys Are (old movie that some baby boomers may remember). It is another tropical, Florida location where a giant boat show takes place. Great food and lot’s to do provide entertainment after the show closes for the day. Come in October and miss the hot, humid (ok miss the hot) Florida summer while taking in so many boats and exhibits. Finally, if you book early, there are plenty of low cost flights in and out of south Florida.
The Cannes Yachting Festical (AKA Cannes Boat Show) takes place in mid-September each year in Cannes, France. This large, in-water boat show boasts 51,000 attendees and over 650 boats. It’s claim to fame is that it is one of the first shows of the boating year where manufacturers reveal new models and features with the opportunity to experience a sea trial of many boats on display. Anyone looking for a French made catamaran or sailboat, might have an interest in attending.
Cannes, France. So if you want to enjoy the French Riviera or are just located in Europe, then Cannes is a beautiful place to enjoy a boating and yachting festival. So this isn’t a sailboat only festival, but because so many sailboats are made in France, this one made the list. Cannes is well known for its International Film Festival and getting more known each year for its Yachting Festival. Great Food and ambience in addition to lot’s of boats on display make Cannes one of our top boat (and sailboat) shows.
The International Multihull Boat Show is a show exclusively for multihull sailing enthusiasts. It takes place in La Grande Motte, France every April. This show is one of the newer shows, first launched in 2010 with the simple concept of showing off multihull boats in a single, fixed venue. It features the major catamaran manufacturers, trimarans and exhibits with over 60 boats on display.
La Grande Motte is a wonderful beach type location to experience everything multi-hull. It is a newer (1960’s and 1970’s resort location in southern France. The French love to come and experience the pyramid like architecture along with tropical plants and traffic and buildings located back from the beach. This French resort town hosts a true multi-hull show. Catamarans and Trimarans keep gaining in popularity, but are still working to gain the acceptance of sailing veterans. No worries at this show as it is all things multi-hull.
San Diego is home to an awesome port, many US Naval Vessels and Naval Base and quaint city and also to a wonderful international boat show. Come one, come all sailboat enthusiasts on the West Coast of the United States. This show may be smaller than some of the other shows mentioned on this page, but with 150 boats on display, this is southern California’s premiere boat show. Did you know that Beneteau’s top North American (service) Dealer is located in Southern California. South Coast Yacht’s service is like no other and they are year in and year out a sponsor of the San Diego International Boat Show.
San Diego is a quaint, but large city based around the Bay. With its strong naval presence and influence, arts, music and food that is a cross between Mexican and American, San Diego is another great venue for a boat show and to see some of the new offerings coming this year. San Diego’s weather is almost perfect year around, but June (the month of the show) is about as good as it gets. Expect high temperatures around 80F degrees and lows in the 60F’s with lots of southern California sunshine. You can’t get much better.
Other Sailboat Shows
I know there are many other boat shows featuring sailing and sailboats. If you you have a favorite show that you like to attend, please tell us about it in the comments below. Maybe I’ll add it to the list. By the way, any boat show with sailboats, is a show worth attending.

Newport International Boat Show | September
America’s smallest state features one of the biggest boat shows in the U.S. The Newport International Boat Show takes over 13 acres of Newport’s waterfront to kick off the fall East Coast boat shows season. Many global manufacturers use NIBS to showcase their newest boats and products, giving attendants an exclusive first look at the best the industry has to offer. Attendees can participate in educational seminars, powerboat courses, sailboat courses and classes, both in and out of the water. They even have a pre-qualification financing program to help you responsibly begin the boat purchasing process.
New England Boat Show | February
If you’re shipping up to Boston in February, make sure you head to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center for the New England Boat Show . New England’s biggest and best boating event lasts for over a week, giving you more than enough time to get to know the vessel that’s perfect for your outdoor needs. Events like the Create-a-Boat activity for kids and the tour of a 40-foot inflatable humpback whale offers an educational experience for the next generation of boaters.
Cleveland Boat Show | January
Formerly known as the Mid-America Boat Show, the Cleveland Boat Show is a five-day tradition Great Lakes boating lovers have been coming to for over 60 years. Each day features a unique theme — like Date Night and Kids’ Day — which means there’s always something new to enjoy all week long. Aside from family fun, you’ll have plenty of time to view over 100 different exhibitor and distributor booths showcasing the latest and greatest boats and products. Who knows — Twiggy the Waterskiing Squirrel might make an appearance!
The Great Upstate Boat Show | March
You don’t have to go all the way to New York City to find one of the Empire State’s best boat shows . Head up to the Adirondack Sports Complex for the biggest boat show between Albany, Montreal and the Big Apple. Start boating season off the right way by shopping over 1,500 new and pre-owned boats for sale. Three informative seminars on boating training, maintenance and safety offer you the opportunity to learn more about boating with plenty of time left over to focus on boat browsing.
Richmond Boat Show | February
As one of the best boat shows in Central Virginia, the Richmond Boat Show has dozens of distributors ready to supply you with the boats and accessories you need. This three-day event is entirely indoors, which means winter weather won’t stop you from getting ready for a summer on the water. Five captains will deliver nearly 30 different seminars throughout the weekend. The Richmond Boat Show is now better than ever, with more space to feature boats over 40 feet long.
There’s nothing like Southeast boating. You can hang out in the clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico, sail around the beaches along the Atlantic Ocean or even cruise down to the Caribbean. We love the year-round warm weather that makes the coastlines of Florida , Alabama and Mississippi so desirable. Whether you’re lucky enough to live in these vacation destinations or are just spending some much-needed time away from the colder temperatures up north, be sure to check out these great boat shows in the region.
Miami International Boat Show | February
Grab your ticket to an event that’s earned a reputation as one of the best boat shows in the world. The Miami International Boat Show has it all — on-water training and instruction classes, a conservation village educating boaters about protection efforts for ocean and marine environments, seminars, hands-on lessons and more. See hundreds of the industry-leading boat models in style with a VIP Experience that includes complimentary food, drinks and entertainment on the VIP deck overlooking the Miami skyline. The Miami International Boat Show is a must-do for any boat enthusiast’s checklist.
Tampa Boat Show | September
As another of the best Florida boat shows, the Tampa Boat Show takes place conveniently in early autumn, giving you the perfect opportunity to purchase that new boat you’ve drooled over all summer long. Held at the Tampa Convention Center, this event will also feature educational seminars and demonstrations plus special events exclusively for ladies and children. There’s even a virtual reality boating experience that will make you feel like you’re on the water. Or, purchase one of the dozens of National Marine Manufacturers Association-certified boats for sale and head out into the bay yourself.
Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show | October
If you missed your chance to check out the Miami International Boat Show, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is a worthy substitution. This event is the largest boat show in the world and boasts everything from inflatables to super-yachts across its six locations. This South Florida staple features kids’ fishing clinics, live music, in-pool demonstrations of watercraft and tech, seminars, a culinary experience and more boats than you’ll believe. See this four-day boating extravaganza for yourself and find the perfect vessel that fits your lifestyle.
Biloxi Boat Show | February
Florida doesn’t have all the fun — the Biloxi Boat Show brings on-water festivities to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. For four days, the Mississippi Coast Coliseum showcases boats, kayaks and canoes that are available at unique show pricing rates. Special events at the show include live music, the Fetch-n-Fish Dog Show, a trout pond fishing experience, fishing lessons for children and much more!
Atlanta Boat Show | January
Just because Atlanta isn’t as close to the coast as other major cities, that doesn’t mean it can’t be home to one of the best Southeast boat shows. Featuring daily special events like fishing seminars, live music, sailing seminars and more, the Atlanta Boat Show is an exciting event for the whole family. Bring the little ones to have fun in the Kid Zone, Touch-a-Boat activities and Nautical Storytime. Adults will love relaxing at the Boats & Brews event after spending the weekend viewing boats from over 70 brands.
Memphis Boat Expo | March
The Memphis Boat Expo combines two huge events under one venue. Partnering with The Good Life Expo, this annual event at the Cook Convention Center is one of the largest Southeast boat shows. As an indoor playground for outdoor lovers, not only will this event have the largest display of boats in the mid-South, but it will also provide tons of fun with a Thrill Zone featuring a zip line, rides, sailboat races and more. Two lucky winners may even take home a boat or an RV.
Best Boat Shows in the Midwest
Who says you need an ocean to have a sea full of fun on your boat? EZ Dock knows better than anyone that the lakes and rivers throughout the Midwest provide plenty of opportunities to enjoy life on the water. Boaters in the Midwest are just as passionate as we are, and it’s no surprise some of the best boat shows in America take place far from either coast. Mark your calendar and plan to join us at one of these fantastic Midwest boat shows.
Grand Rapids Boat Show | February
Boating and Michigan go hand in hand, which is why the Grand Rapids Boat Show has been a tradition in the Great Lakes State for nearly 75 years. DeVos Place hosts five acres of space on which they feature the newest, most powerful boats alongside antique and classic boats on display. Bring younger or newer boaters to complete the boating safety certification course, meet professional wakeboarders, suit up for a swim in the dive tank and view the best high-performance powerboat models on the market today.
Kansas City Boat & Sportshow | January
One of the best Midwest boat shows this side of the Missouri River, the Kansas City Boat & Sportshow is a fantastic event for boaters and their families. Browse the newest boats from the best brands during this four-day show in the H. Roe Bartle Hall. Be sure to view a Dock Dogs performance, which is the premier canine aquatics competition, or let your little ones fish at the Willow Creek Trout Pond. With delicious Kansas City food trucks on site, this event is a boatload of fun.
Chicago Boat, RV & Sail Show | January
Sail over to the Windy City for the Chicago Boat, RV & Sail Show during January. This four-day fest will have you wishing summer was just around the corner. Find your dream boat at the city’s biggest marine and outdoors sales event. The show also features special events like sailing seminars, paddle sports demos, remote control sailboat racing, oyster shucking demos and even a beach bar and cantina. The Chicago Boat, RV & Sail Show has boats for every activity, lifestyle and budget ready for Lake Michigan.
The Pacific Ocean is truly a sight to behold. Life moves at a different pace on the West Coast, and you can be sure the boating experience is just as unique. From the gorgeous coastline of the Pacific Northwest to the best beaches along the California coast, EZ Dock loves taking it easy on the West Coast. If you’re near the Pacific, make a memorable vacation out of a trip to one of these fantastic West Coast boat shows.
Portland Boat Show | January
For over half a century, the Portland Boat Show has dropped anchor in Rose City for five days of topside fun. As the largest boat show in Oregon and one of the biggest West Cast boat shows, the PDX Boat Show fills over 250,000 square feet of the Portland Expo Center with the world’s largest display of welded aluminum boats. You’ll find everything from fiberglass boats, cruisers and pleasure boats to boat repair and design products and services. Be sure to take advantage of their two-for-one admission as well.
Central Oregon Sportsmen’s Show & Boat/RV Sale | March
The Central Oregon Sportsmen’s Show is the ideal even for outdoor lovers on land and sea. A show within a show, the boat sale lets you view dozens of boats side by side along with informative presentations like Geoff Wallaston’s Routine and Basic Boat Maintenance. If you happen to have a tight schedule that week, you’re in luck — there are three Sportsmen’s Shows around the area. They also host the Washington Sportsmen’s Show in Puyallup, Wash., in January, and the Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show in Portland, Ore., during February.
Los Angeles Boat Show | January
Everything is larger than life in L.A., and you’d better believe the Los Angeles Boat Show is the ultimate boating show in California . The Fairplex in Pomona is the site of this four-day event where hundreds of distributors feature the best boats in the industry. Stop at the high-performance hall to get an up close and personal look at the latest tech, graphics and designs. Your admission ticket includes a chance to win amazing prizes during hourly drawings — who knows what new toys you’ll leave with?
Seattle Boat Show | January
Every year, Emerald City sailors get treated to a boatload of fun at the Seattle Boat Show . This annual event docks at the CenturyLink Field Event Center and South Lake Union. With over 150 different boat models on display and hundreds more distributors, there’s plenty to see. However, we believe one of the biggest draws to this event is their seminar showcase. Experts teach more than 200 lectures and classes on boating, fishing and the latest industry knowledge about technology, navigation, maintenance and more.
With so many boat shows taking place from coast to coast, you’ll have a tough time trying to squeeze all these events into your schedule. After you’ve narrowed down your list, you’re going to want to make the most of your time at each show. Though every U.S. boat show is different, we’ve gathered 10 tips we believe will help you have the best experience possible.
- Research the show you plan to attend: Before you even step foot into the show, you should already know what to expect. This tip is especially helpful for the largest boat shows in North America, as they will have so many things to see and do. Read about the featured events, exhibitors and activities at each show. You can also download or print out a map that will direct you to the distributors or sponsors you wish to visit.
- Purchase tickets online ahead of time: Don’t spend your valuable time waiting in line for tickets. Conveniently, most boat shows allow you to purchase tickets online so you can cruise right into the event.
- Dress comfortably: Whether you’re visiting all day or all weekend, prepare to be on your feet. Wear comfortable shoes and consider bringing a light jacket in case you get cold in the facility.
- Use your time responsibly: Despite your best efforts, you’ll likely not be able to see and do everything, but that’s OK. With your map in hand, you can make a list of the top products you want to see and get the most out of your experience without wasting time running from distributor to distributor for the sake of seeing it all.
- Don’t be afraid to ask questions: Everyone at a boat show loves boating as much as you do. They’ll be happy to speak with you and answer all your questions about discounts, specials or pricing. Distributors like EZ Dock send their most knowledgeable representatives out to the event so they can provide you with the best service possible.
- Engage in product demonstrations: At the best U.S. boat shows, you can expect to get a hands-on experience. Feel free to engage in any available product demonstrations so you can get a good feel for the product.
- Enter the show with a firm financial plan: Though it will be tempting to scoop up all the cool and innovative products you see, you should always attend an event with a strict budget and a clear understanding of what you can afford.
- Know when to say no: Some distributors will see your excitement and naturally ask if you’d like to take a product home with you. If you stick to your financial plan, you’ll know when to respectfully and responsibly say no to these offers.
- Know when to say yes: If you’ve done your research before the show, you’ll know the best deals when you see them. If you’ve come prepared to purchase a product you need with the budget you can afford, say yes and take home a great deal.
- Enjoy yourself: Boat shows are supposed to be a blast. Rest easy and enjoy every minute exploring what these events have to offer.

The Complete Calendar of Big Boat Shows Around the World
Mark your calendars for these yacht shows taking place throughout the year..
For yacht lovers, boat shows offer the same experience as any milestone event—they’re memorable, fun, and potentially life-changing. Just ask the tens of thousands of owners around the world who buy new vessels every year at the top shows. Starting with the Cannes Yachting Festival in September and ending with the Newport Yacht Charter Show in June, the show “season” moves around the world, displaying the newest motor yachts at Cannes in September and the world’s largest superyachts at Monaco at the end of the month. From there, the show season moves on to Fort Lauderdale in October, moving month by month around the globe to the world’s major yachting capitals.

Opening days of every boat show share one common feature: The excitement is electric. Not only have the shipyards spent months, and even years, readying new yachts for their public debuts, but the visitors are also excited to finally be stepping aboard yachts they’ve read about and aspire to own. Yachts remain the ultimate discretionary purchase—the one item owners don’t need but often cannot do without. That’s partly because they have become modern, luxury apartments on the water, rivaling any new high-rise condo.
But the main reason people love boats so much is the freedom they offer. No other shoreside home can match a yacht’s portability. Owners can enjoy the world’s richest view of the Monte Carlo skyline, steps away from the city’s shops and restaurants, and then snorkel in an empty cove on a remote Greek island a week later. Take that scenario, transplant it to wherever water exists, and imagine the possibilities. You can see why the boat show has become such a must-attend event for yacht lovers. Here are 16 of the world’s best shows.
It might be the dead of winter, but this is a great time of year to get away to another cold clime and start planning your warm-weather activities.
Boot Düsseldorf
Scheduled for January 19 to 27, 2019, Boot Düsselforf will be celebrating 50 years in 2019, and tickets will go on sale in September. Sixteen exhibition halls spread out over 2,368,060 square feet make up the boat show, which offers up 18 themed areas celebrating all things water. These include the Sailing Center, Motorboats, Superyachts, Travel, the Dive Center, Beach World, the World of Paddling, the Refit Center, and the Sportfishing Center, among others. Watch for superyachts from Azimut, Ferretti, Princess, Fairline, and Sunseeker in the motor-yacht category.
If you prefer sailing, you can check out models from Amel, Bénéteaum, CNB, Nautor’s Swan, Solaris, and more. In addition to the large yachts, tenders for those yachts are on display, as well. If you get tired of touring the yacht halls, head to The Wave for some surfing or the Dive Center for diving. In 2018, 1,923 exhibitors from 68 different countries participated, and 247,000 visitors attended from 102 countries. Organizers are expecting more for the 50th anniversary. —Danielle Cutler
If you’re envisioning a romantic Valentine’s-weekend holiday, nothing could be more magical than Miami during the two boat shows held over Valentine’s Day each year. If you already have plans, consider heading to the United Arab Emirates at the end of the month for a winter warmup at the Dubai show.
Miami International Boat Show
One of two Miami shows held on the same dates, the Miami International Boat Show (MIBS), held February 14 through 19, 2019, used to be a small-boat show in the Miami Beach Convention Center. The largest boat was less than 50 feet in length. Two years ago, MIBS moved to the Miami Marine Stadium on Key Biscayne, and it transformed almost overnight into a world-class, on-water show. More than 1,300 boats are on display from 170 builders from the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
The organizers also moved its sailboat show to Virginia Key last year, adding a new component as well as offering hands-on instruction and displays from hundreds of equipment and electronics manufacturers. The show is just minutes from the village of Coconut Grove—with its charming cafés, parks, and shops—and downtown Miami, with the art galleries and restaurants in the hip section of Brickell. Between MIBS’ new location and the Miami Yacht Show on South Beach, Miami is definitely the place to be for yachties in February. —Geri Ward
Miami Yacht Show
Formerly Yachts Miami Beach and then the Miami Yacht Show on Collins Avenue, the Miami Yacht Show is scheduled for February 14 to 18 in 2019 at its new location in Biscayne Bay between the Venetian and MacArthur causeways, which is just north of downtown Miami. The new venue is closer to superyacht -lovers’ Superyacht Miami at Island Gardens Deep Harbour marina on Watson Island, which hosts the show’s large yachts—up to 500 feet.
Show organizers expect more than 500 boats and yachts, additional parking and on-land exhibit space, and a new AquaZone, where guests will find demos from Flyboard, SeaBob, Rover Boat Board, underwater drones, and more. Be sure to check out the luxury automobiles, private jets, and art on display, as well.
Guests who prefer traveling as a VIP have the option of buying the VIP Experience package ($150), which includes show entry, access to the VIP lounge, and transportation to Superyacht Miami. Don’t underestimate the VIP lounge—this is where you go to get out of the sun, take advantage of the open bar and hors d’oeuvres, and take in the happy-hour events.
Watch for yachts from Amels, Benetti, Heesen, Oceanco, Christensen, Westport, Feadship, and many more. —D.C.
Dubai International Boat Show
Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS), scheduled for February 26 to March 2, 2019, is a true crossroads of the yachting world, bringing together 26,000 visitors from 76 countries. The show has all the major U.S. and European yacht brands, not to mention local yards like Gulf Craft, which has found an international following for its Majesty superyachts. DIBS’ organizers relocated the show last year to Dubai Creek, a more intimate and elegant setting for the exhibitors and visitors.
Beyond the yachts displayed at the marina and along Superyacht Avenue, the show also has a Super Car Promenade, Luxury Boulevard (with luxury goods and decor), and Dive ME Expo to promote the region’s exceptional reefs. Dubai, of course, is known for its international lifestyle, and that shows up in restaurants like the Armani Hotel as well as the cafés on the Dubai Marina. The Emirate also has world-class shopping centers like the Dubai Mall, with its top-brand stores and glassed-in indoor ski slopes with real snow, or Saga World Dubai, which displays exceptional masterpieces of jewelry, watches, carpeting, and artwork. The Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, features a 124th-floor observation deck that gives exceptional views of the fast-growing city. —G.W.

Need to change up your usual spring-break ski trip? Balmy Palm Beach is beautiful this time of year.
Palm Beach International Boat Show
Palm Beach International Boat Show , held March 28 to 31, 2019, was once an afterthought to the Fort Lauderdale and Miami shows; however, it has been steadily growing over the last few years, adding extra dock space, more yacht brands, and ever-larger yachts. It now has $1.2 billion worth of boats on display. It’s also in the admirable position of offering the same levels of quality and excellent weather as the other major shows, but without the big crowds. This year, Palm Beach introduced a VIP Experience that includes a dockside indoor club with open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and other luxuries that make it an oasis in the heart of the show.
The event also features a cool AquaZone, which has demos of jetpacks, electric surfboards, paddleboarding, and many new water toys. For a break from the show, the shopping on Worth Avenue is similar to Rodeo Drive or Fifth Avenue, but without the urban background. The exhibits at the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum or shows at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts are also cultural distractions in one of America’s wealthiest zip codes. —G.W.
Singapore Yacht Show
Check out spring in Singapore for a high-end tropical vacation with a sophisticated city as your home base.
Singapore Yacht Show
Showcasing top-notch yachts, supercars, luxury fashion, watch and jewelry brands, and more, the Singapore Yacht Show is scheduled for April 11 through 14, 2019, at One°15 Marina in Sentosa Cove on Sentosa Island. Supported by the Singapore Tourism Board and the international yachting community, guests can explore such on-water yacht exhibitors as Azimut, Benetti, Feadship, Ferretti, Gulf Craft, Heesen, Lürssen, Monte Carlo Yachts, Sanlorenzo, Westport, and others. The 2018 show hosted more than 15,000 visitors over the four days, spread out over the almost 90,500 square feet of exhibition space, and featured more than 90 yachts and 14 world and Asia debuts. —D.C.
MYBA Charter Show Photo: Paul McDermott
Does one really need a reason to visit Barcelona? The architecture, the weather, the museums, shopping, the beach, boating, sangria… And then there’s Greece.
MYBA Charter Show
Head to Barcelona for the MYBA Charter Show on April 30 to May 3, 2019, at OneOcean Port Vell. Tailored to professionals in the charter-yacht industry, the 2018 event featured 53 yachts, 96 exhibitors, and 1,885 attendees. Events include the annual chefs’ competition, pitting yacht chef and crew against yacht chef and crew to determine which team has the best Meet and Greet process, “tablescaping” display, and, of course, food. The 2018 challenge was for each participating chef to prepare five different finger foods to be eaten without cutlery, breaking down to three savory and two sweet items. Legendary yachts such as Oceanco’s 269-foot Alfa Nero and the 254-foot explorer yacht Legend from Icon Yachts participated in 2018, along with their representatives Burgess and Camper & Nicholsons, respectively. —D.C.

Presented each year for yachting professionals by the Greek Yachting Association in Nafplion, Greece, the Mediterranean Yacht Show also showcases charter yachts, parties aboard those yachts (allowing guests to get to know each other and the crew), and a chefs’ competition. The fifth edition of MEDYS proved to be the best yet, with 107 charter yachts and more than 400 yachting professionals from all corners of the globe, making it the largest event of its kind in the Eastern Mediterranean. The GYA expects an even larger number of yachts for 2019, currently estimated to be 120. The 2019 show is scheduled for May 4 to 8, a day longer than the 2018 event. —D.C.
Newport Charter Yacht Show Photo: Courtesy
Take a break from the Hamptons and head to Newport, Rhode Island, to catch a glimpse of the large yachts in town for the charter show.
Newport Charter Yacht Show
One of two summer yacht shows, set in America’s sailing capital, is unique because only charter yachts take part. The Newport Yacht Charter Show , which will be held June 17 to 20 in 2019, is a professionals-only event designed to show the high standards of the charter sector to owners and brokers, with four days of open houses on the yachts. During the last show, the 24 charter yachts ranged from the 198-foot Blue Moon to the 54-foot sailing-catamaran Tohora , with most of the fleet measuring over 100 feet.
The chefs demonstrate their cooking prowess with specially prepared luncheons for brokers, while captains show each yacht’s unique features (water toys, luxury saloons, or beach clubs). The crew and owners even participate in costumed events which, in 2018, included Super Heroes and Under the Big Top. There are best-dessert contests among the chefs as well as “tablescaping” and specialty cocktail competitions. Newport, with its 19th-century mansions on the Cliff Walk and boutiques on Thames Street, makes the perfect New England backdrop for the show. —G.W.

If you’re ready for a cool-down from your blazing-hot summer, Australia’s winter weather—with highs in the 50s—might be a welcome reprieve.
Sydney International Boat Show
Sydney’s International Convention Centre and adjacent Cockle Bay Marina in Darling Harbour played host to the 51st edition of the Sydney International Boat Show from August 2 through 6, 2018. The event features not only yachts of all sizes from respected builders around the world but also all sorts of accessories, demonstration pools, and master classes. Plus, the Australia International Dive Expo has joined in the fun. I would recommend catching your breath while swilling a glass of bubbly at the outdoor Champagne and oyster bar on the event deck. Dates have not yet been announced for 2019. —D.C.
September is a good time to book that Airbnb in the South of France for the whole month so you can hit up all the boat shows. In between Cannes and Monaco, don’t forget to head to Southampton and Genoa to catch the shows there.
Cannes Yachting Festival
Cannes might be better known for its film festival, but the Cannes Yachting Festival —September 11 to 16, 2018—attracts more visitors and is the official launch of the yachting season. Last year on its 40th anniversary, the show had 600 boats on display, including yachts over 150 feet as well as 108 world premieres. Like the film festival, the world’s boat builders understand it’s important to be seen at Cannes. The largest new launch in the 2018 show will be the Baglietto 48 Displacement, a 158-foot superyacht designed by Francesco Paszkowski, with other launches by Custom Line, Ferretti Yachts, Conrad, Nautor’s Swan, and more than 100 others. Because France is such a mecca of sailing, the show also has a large selection of sailboats and multihull yachts. More than 50,000 visitors, about half of which came from outside France, are expected to visit the show to see the new yachts of the season. There’s typically a lively, friendly feel on the crowded docks as the builders can finally reveal yachts that will establish the latest trends in design and performance. Located in the heart of the city, dozens of cafés, bars, and restaurants are within a five-minute walk of the event. The show’s Luxury Galley includes watches, jewelry, lamps, and other custom decor. —G.W.
TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show
Held September 14 to 23 this year, TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show is celebrating 50 years. Organizers expect more than 100 boat debuts and more than 500 exhibitors. Some will be highlighting environmental research. In addition to celebrating its 50 years in existence, the show will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first single-handed nonstop circumnavigation of the globe with Sir Robin Knox-Johnston’s Suhaili on display at the event. Sports stars and celebrities from the last 50 years will be welcomed, and those couples celebrating 50 years of marriage during the show will receive free entrance. Be sure to stop by the new Guinness Bar, which will be giving its own nod to the 1960s.
Besides the yachts and boats on display—and the various 50th-anniversary festivities—the Southampton Boat Show also features kayaks, paddleboards, sailing dinghies, and, this year, a menu at the Marine’s Grill developed by the Hairy Bikers (Si King and Dave Myers), with responsibly sourced seafood in line with the show’s efforts to support marine conservation. VIP-minded visitors will be pleased to discover the Platinum Experience, which includes a glass of Prosecco upon arrival; morning tea, coffee, and pastries; buffet lunch; afternoon tea and cake; entrance fees for the show; a private bar (drinks not included) in the Platinum Lounge; and more. The most exciting part is the hour-long tour aboard a motor yacht. —D.C.
Salone Nautica
Genoa, Italy’s national boat show, held September 25 to 28, 2018, is one of Europe’s major fall yachting events. Salone Nautica offers 1,000 boats in a Mediterranean setting from Italian yacht builders like Sanlorenzo, Azimut, and Monte Carlo Yachts, as well as non-Italian brands like Nautor’s Swan, Bertram, Beneteau, and Hanse Yachts. Located on the Genoa waterfront, the show is divided into motor yachts, sailboats, powerboats, and outboard boats. The Genoa show distinguishes itself by an inimitable sense of Italian warmth. Organizers call it the “Sea Experience,” and that includes after-show boat tests on the Mediterranean, Big Game Tournament sportfishing displays, and events for divers, kayakers, and small-boat lovers.
Beyond the show, Genoa offers many side tours, including the charming cafés of Via Garibaldi, cathedrals like Basilica di Santa Maria di Castello, the Aquarium of Genoa, and the art museum of Chiostro dei Canonici di San Lorenzo. Walks through the Palazzi dei Rolli and Chiesa Di San Donato give some sense of Genoa’s long history and importance as a maritime center. —G.W.
Monaco Yacht Show
Monaco Yacht Show
Every September since 1991, yachting enthusiasts, buyers, charterers, yacht builders, and brokers descend on the principality of Monaco for the annual Monaco Yacht Show . And I’m sure this year will be no different. Scheduled for September 26 through 29, 2018, show organizers are expecting 120 custom superyachts from builders, owners, and charter brokers around the globe to moor at the docks of Port Hercules. In addition, 40 of these yachts will be making their worldwide debut. The average length of participating yachts is 160 feet, but this year there will be seven superyachts between 230 and 328 feet in length. And four of them will be making their world debuts. In addition, watersports lovers can view and sometimes try out the 40 different tenders and toys on display. For those into automobiles, 10 different luxury models will be exhibited at the show’s Car Deck. And we mustn’t overlook the two helicopters scheduled to appear. Overall, 580 companies participate in the annual show.
For superyacht clientele, the Monaco Yacht Show offers a VIP visit pack, the Sapphire Experience, which provides exclusive services to new yacht buyers and current owners. Crème de la crème visitors may participate in two invite-only events held the evening of September 25: the Monaco Yacht Summit—mini lectures and discussions with a panel of yachting-industry experts to explore the practical questions of future yacht charterers or buyers—and the Inaugural Gala Event and 5th Monaco Yacht Show Superyacht Awards, where 400 guests celebrate the most spectacular yachts at the show.
Last year’s Monaco Yacht Show saw 36,400 people roaming the tents, halls, and docks. And usually, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco takes a (highly secured) stroll through the event, as well. —D.C.
Sights are most likely set on South Florida for the Fort Lauderdale boat show, but don’t rule out a quick trip to beautiful Abu Dhabi for its fairly new event.
Abu Dhabi International Boat Show
Scheduled for October 17 to 20, 2018, the newcomer to the list will hold its inaugural event this year. Organized by the same company that puts on the Southampton show in the UK, the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show promises to be an impressive debut. The UAE capital has become a boatbuilding center in the Middle East and one of its most beautiful cruising grounds, with more than 300 miles of coastline and 200 islands. It has also hosted some world-class events, including Abu Dhabi Sailing Regatta, Commodore’s Cup, and a stopover of the Volvo Ocean Race. Islands like Yas, Saadiyat, and Sir Bani Yas have become big destinations, and some have world-class marinas. The show will feature yacht builders from 18 countries, including Sunseeker, Benetti, CRN, Mangusta, Princess, Ferretti Yachts, and Pershing.
Many local shipyards will also have their boats on display. Beyond yachts and powerboats, the show will feature Volvo Ocean 60 race boats (Abu Dhabi has been a big sponsor of the Volvo Ocean Race) and F1 Powerboats that accelerate to 100 mph in four seconds. The in-water section will be in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company’s marina, while the rest of the show will be in the adjoining ultramodern exhibit center. —G.W.
Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show Photo: Forest Johnson
Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show
Every fall at the very end of hurricane season, boats and yachts big and small arrive from all over the globe to take part in the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show , the biggest in-water boat show in the world, held this year on October 31 through November 4 in the Yachting Capital of the World. The 2018 edition marks 59 years of this show, which hosts more than 1,500 boats—along six miles of floating docks—1,200 exhibitors, and 110,000 visitors at seven locations around Fort Lauderdale.
Not only will visitors find all kinds of boats—from superyachts and sailing yachts to jet boats and runabouts—but also watersports gear, exotic cars, and everything else nautical. General admission is $33 for adults; $15 for kids ages six to 15; and free for children under six. Choose the Windward VIP Experience for $300 a person for one day. The package includes entrance to the show, access to the Windward VIP Club, and rides on the Water Taxi. But the Windward VIP Club is what makes it appealing—it’s located at the Swimming Hall of Fame, which is a pretty central location, and offers up air-conditioned lounge areas to hang out and cool off in, a dedicated concierge, and private indoor bathrooms (worth any amount of money). If that didn’t do it for you, it offers up a private dining area and a premium open bar. —D.C.
Antigua Charter Yacht Meeting Photo: Shutterstock/Pixachi
And that’s a wrap. End your year in the warm and wildly beautiful West Indies.
Antigua Charter Yacht Meeting
Another show catered to marine-industry professionals, the Antigua Charter Yacht Show is scheduled for December 4 through 10 at Nelson’s Dockyard Marina in English Harbour, the Falmouth Harbour Marina, and the Antigua Yacht Club Marina. New for 2018, all registered yachts remain at the docks for the full five viewing days, with the fifth day being a Sail Day, when charter-management companies can showcase their yacht with a cruise around Antigua’s waters and islands in a sort of charter sampler. Festivities include a chefs’ competition (this year’s mission is a New Year’s Eve dinner party), a stewardess competition (a New Year’s Eve decorative table setting), and nightly events. The Antigua Charter Yacht Meeting is a nonprofit and allocates funds to various schools, scholarships, police stations, flood victims, and more. —D.C.

Ranking Every ‘Below Deck’ Show From Most to Least Memorable: Mediterranean, Adventure and More
Bravo’s Below Deck series has inspired several spinoffs — but not every one has left an impression.
Below Deck , which debuted on Bravo in 2013, introduced viewers to various crew members who reside and work on a superyacht during charter season. The original series quickly became a major success for the network, spawning spinoffs that include Below Deck Mediterranean, Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Below Deck Down Under and Below Deck Adventure .
The show has since become an example of Bravo’s rare all-year long programming with a Below Deck series airing new episodes at any given moment. While most of the cast has changed from season to season, viewers have gotten invested in some of the mainstays , which are usually the captains and the chief stews or bosuns.
However, not every show has stuck with fans the exact same way. Certain iterations didn’t last longer than a season while others have become more memorable than the OG Below Deck show.
Related: A Guide to 'Below Deck' and Its Many Spinoffs
Keep scrolling to see Us ‘ ranking of the Below Deck shows — in order from most to least memorable.
1) ‘Below Deck Mediterranean’
When some of Us weren’t looking, Below Deck Mediterranean surprisingly became the backbone of the franchise that earned it first place on this list . A large part of that is Captain Sandy Yawn , who for better or for worse has gotten viewers reinvigorated about Below Deck . It takes a special kind of captain to not always make decisions everyone likes but that keeps fans coming back for more.
Sandy’s priority is being a good captain but somewhere along the way she became Below Deck gold. Everything else is just icing on the cake when Sandy is at the center of every season in the Mediterranean.
2) ‘Below Deck’
The original show paved the way for every other iteration to find its place on Bravo. Without Below Deck — and Captain Lee Rosbach — fans wouldn’t know just how compelling drama on the high seas can actually be.
One reason why Below Deck isn’t at the very top is tied to the show’s decision to fix what wasn’t broken. Captain Lee was the face of the franchise — so it wasn’t easy to say goodbye when he was replaced following a decade on Below Deck . The switch came several seasons after chief stew Kate Chastain left and it was too much change at once for some of Us .

3) ‘below deck sailing yacht’.
Speaking of shows overshadowed by controversy, Below Deck Sailing Yacht had it all when it originally premiered on Bravo in 2020 . Paternity scandals, love triangles and Below Deck alums that overstayed their welcome by making the audience turn on them again.
Captain Glenn Shephard confidently steered Below Deck Sailing Yacht into a successful future but other factors ultimately got in the way.
First of all, Daisy Kelliher ‘s messy feelings for Colin Macrae and Gary King sounded like good reality TV on paper but it wasn’t as interesting on screen. The trio actually made it harder to come back around each week because it was exhausting to see them hash out their confusing issues.
Season 4 wrapped up with the promise of more episodes before Gary made headlines for his sexual misconduct scandal. He has maintained his innocence and no official statement has been given on the future of the show but Below Deck Sailing Yacht has yet to release any news about another season since the drama.
4) ‘Below Deck Down Under’
The spinoff set in Australia should have been a slam dunk with Bravo’s favorite hottie Captain Jason Chambers and fan-favorite chief stew Aesha Scott by his side. However, Below Deck Down Under initially struggled because it was premiering on Peacock instead of Bravo meaning viewers didn’t know to look for a new show.
Season 2 was what put Below Deck Down Under on the map but not for the reason anyone was hoping. A shocking consent scandal halfway through the season resulted in Luke Jones and Laura Bileskaline getting fired from the boat , which Below Deck Down Under was applauded for as new episodes continued to cover the aftermath.

Despite the fact that Jason and Aesha received praise for how they handled the situation , there has been no news about the show’s future. It is possible that the drama overshadowed the show itself — and not in a good way.

5) ‘below deck adventure’.
The fourth spinoff was meant to be the most action-packed as guests signed up for thrill-seeking activities along the Norwegian Fjords. After premiering in November 2022, Below Deck Adventure failed to find an audience week to week and subsequently faded out of everyone’s mind.
Bravo never announced the show’s cancellation but it’s probably safe to assume that not many fans were asking for a status update. Instead, Captain Kerry Titheradge was moved to Below Deck and everyone forgot the first failed Below Deck spinoff series.

Netflix top 10 shows — here’s the 3 worth watching right now
These are the shows we highly recommend watching right now
The Netflix top 10 is a good guide to follow if you’re curious about what’s currently popular, but it doesn’t always have the best movies and shows to stream this week . In my personal experience, this list often holds low-rated and even boring content that I just won’t gravitate towards. However, that’s not to say there aren’t shows worth watching, because I’ve found quite a few valuable options.
While shows like “Baby Reindeer” and “Bodkin” remain in the top 10, they’ve had their time to shine. Other extremely successful shows have completely crashed Netflix, and that includes an outstanding romance drama series based in the Regency era, as well as the much loved "The Big Bang Theory" spin-off.
So, if you find yourself scrolling through the Netflix top 10 but don’t know what show to watch first, we’ve got you covered. Check out the best shows to stream right now below.
‘Bridgerton’
Of course, we have to start with the most popular show on Netflix right now, and perhaps one of my favorite shows ever. “Bridgerton” focuses on a family of eight siblings who attempt to find love during the Regency era in England. These siblings include Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), Benedict (Luke Thompson), Colin (Luke Newton), Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), Eloise (Claudia Jessie), Francesca (Ruby Stokes/Hannah Dodd), Gregory (Will Tilston), and Hyacinth (Florence Hunt).
Each season centers around one sibling and their romance story. So, season 1 focuses on Daphne’s romance with a Duke, season 2 is about Anthony’s search for a wife, and the recently released season 3 follows Colin’s blossoming love with his best friend, Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). “Bridgerton” combines passionate romance, friendship, history, and drama perfectly, with each season generating more anticipation.

‘Young Sheldon’
Are you a fan of the “Big Bang Theory” or just enjoy sitcoms in general? Then “Young Sheldon” should be your next watch on Netflix. This show explores the childhood of Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage) and his life growing up as a socially impaired but highly intelligent child in Texas. He can solve advanced mathematical problems and scientific equations that no other kid his age is capable of. But being smart and vulnerable isn’t easy in a harsh world, and so Sheldon has to find his purpose.

“Young Sheldon” is the perfect show to stream whenever you need to relax. It has several comedic moments and nods to the original series “The Big Bang Theory”. Although this series has come to an end after seven successful seasons, it’s still worth a watch. And even more bonus points for the fact that Jim Parsons (who played the adult version of Sheldon) narrates throughout the entire show.

‘Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story’
Yes, we’re back to the world of “Bridgerton”, but this time we have a prequel spin-off. “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” focuses on young Queen Charlotte (India Amarteifio) and how she came to marry King George of England (Corey Mylchreest), despite the unwanted wedding arrangement. After meeting one another, the romance blossoms in the typical slow burn fashion, but it wouldn’t be a true love story if there weren’t obstacles being thrown at them as well.
This epic love story represents the transformation of high society, but it also deals with themes such as isolation, grief, difficult relationships, and discrimination during a societal shift. It’s definitely a deeper and darker “Bridgerton” story that doesn’t just focus on passionate romance. Like me, you can watch this spin-off while waiting for the rest of “Bridgerton” season 3 to come out.

All 11 Fight Scenes In Road House 2024, Ranked
- Hard-hitting fight scenes with expert precision make the new 'Road House' a thrilling watch for action lovers.
- Elwood Dalton's ruthless tactics and tragic past add an edge to the chaotic violence in the remake.
- Director Doug Liman makes the fight scenes leap out from the screen.
Just like the original movie starring Patrick Swayze, the new remake of Road House features plenty of brilliant fight scenes. The 1989 version of Road House is the ultimately guilty pleasure movie, packed with scenes of lowlife scum getting summarily beaten down by a stoic bouncer. The remake recaptures this crowd-pleasing feel, but it also features fight scenes which are laced with incredible tension. There are plenty of differences between the two movies, not least Dalton's UFC past in the 2024 version, but the remake is just as chaotically violent.
Jake Gyllenhaal plays Elwood Dalton, a former UFC champion who retired after killing an opponent in the ring. Rather than cobbling together an unsatisfying life scaring underground MMA fighters out of their winnings, Dalton takes a job as a bouncer at a rowdy bar in the Florida Keys. Road House has been receiving positive reviews , and its hard-hitting fight scenes are a big reason why. Director Doug Liman previously worked on the action thrillers The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow , and he makes Road House 's fight scenes leap out from the screen.
Road House is available to stream now on Amazon Prime Video.
Road House Review: Doug Liman's Remake Is Bigger, Louder & Slightly Dumber Than The Original
Dalton breaking jack's fingers, dalton can incapacitate people with surgical precision.
Dalton often shows signs of his incredible understanding of human anatomy, presumably learned from years as a professional fighter. He knows exactly how to inflict the most damage with the absolute minimum effort, and this is how he turns the table on Jack when he pulls a gun on him. Jack thinks that waving a gun at Dalton will be enough to force him into his car, but Dalton doesn't break a sweat. He tells Jack very calmly that all he needs to do is break his index finger and his middle finger, and he follows through.
Dalton's Throat-Punch Kill
Dalton stops holding back after brandt's men burn down the book store.
One other instance of Dalton using his knowledge of the human body is when he kills Vince with a single punch to the throat. He explains that he's probably broken his hyoid bone and collapsed his trachea, but either result will stop him being able to breathe. It's an uncharacteristically cold-blooded moment from Dalton, and it suggests that mentally he could be back on the path to the dark place that saw him kill one of his opponents in the ring. This moment could be a tribute to the original Road House , in which Dalton rips out a man's throat.
Dell Being Killed By The Crocodile
Dell thinks he has the upper hand on dalton, but he ends up being eaten.
Dell doesn't take his initial loss to Dalton lightly. As soon as he's out of the hospital, he tries to run Dalton down in his car. When that doesn't work, he ambushes Dalton on his boat, aptly named "the Boat," with a shotgun in his hand. Just as Jack finds out, having a gun doesn't necessarily give you the advantage over Dalton in a fight. Dalton quickly disarms Dell and knocks him overboard. He tries to rescue him before a crocodile snaps him up, but he's too late. As everyone in Glass Key knows, "crocs hide their food."
Dalton & Ellie Fighting Brandt On His Boat
The waves level the playing field.
As Brandt tries to escape from his burning yacht, he takes a smaller speedboat with Ellie alongside as a hostage. Dalton commandeers Knox's boat and tracks him down, and he teams up with Ellie to fight Brandt as the boat is tossed around by the ocean. The waves add some extra jeopardy to the fight, but Brandt is no real fighter. If it was a regular fight on flat ground, Dalton probably could have killed him in seconds. He loses control of the boat before too long and gets catapulted into the bar, setting up Road House 's ending .
18 Best Jake Gyllenhaal Movies, Ranked
Billy breaking up a fight at the road house, dalton's apprentice learns how to take out the trash.
Rather than taking on every rowdy customer who comes to the bar, Dalton decides to train Billy and Reef as bouncers so that they can deal with the everyday troublemakers. They could hardly ask for a better teacher, as shown by how quickly their skills develop. Dalton is surprisingly hands-off in his approach. He tells Billy exactly what to do when a fight breaks out and one man has a concealed knife. Billy takes a big step back and pops him in the nose. Dalton can leave later knowing that the Road House is in safe hands.
Dalton's Career-Ending UFC Fight
Road house's ufc scenes use real-life fighters and pundits.
Director Doug Liman uses POV shots in Dalton's darkest moments, and his fight with Harris is the darkest of all.
Conor McGregor isn't the only UFC fighter in Road House . Jay Hieron plays Jax "Jetway" Harris, Dalton's opponent in his championship bout. Road House drip feeds the story of Dalton's fight throughout the movie. Eventually, it becomes clear why the event haunts Dalton's dreams. Dalton kills Harris in the ring by refusing to stop. Director Doug Liman uses POV shots in Dalton's darkest moments, and his fight with Harris is the darkest of all. The spectacle of the big occasion makes Dalton's trauma even worse. The cameras flash around him as he begins to understand what he has just done.
Post Malone's Bareknuckle Boxing Fight
The rapper is surprisingly convincing in his cameo.
Post Malone is one of the most surprising members of the Road House cast , along with Conor McGregor. He plays Carter, a bareknuckle fighter in the movie's first scene. Fittingly, the movie opens with a punch to the face, as Carter takes down a much larger opponent. The ring announcer claims that Carter has taken down six challengers in a row, but he backs down from fighting Dalton when he recognizes who he is. Road House starts with a bang , immediately signaling its intention to be just as action-packed as the 1989 original.
Knox Destroying The Bar With A Golf Club
Conor mcgregor's introduction shakes things up.
As soon as Conor McGregor is introduced as Knox, strutting boldly down the street in the nude, Road House kicks into another gear.
As soon as Conor McGregor is introduced as Knox, strutting boldly down the street in the nude, Road House kicks into another gear. He throws his weight around with Brandt's crew before strolling into the Road House like he owns it with a golf club in his hands. Knox brings a whirlwind of chaos with him, smashing glasses as he almost dances his way through the bar. He seems to enjoy violence and pain, and he picks fights with bystanders just to cause a nuisance. He even tears through the netting which protects the band.
Knox & Dalton's First Road House Fight
Dalton meets his match at last.
After Dalton decides that Knox's antics have gone too far, he steps in to confront him. Despite the chaos all around them as an all-out bar fight ensues, Knox and Dalton remain utterly focused on one another. Their fight is the first time that Dalton truly seems like he's in danger. Even being stabbed in the abdomen and hit by a train is less threatening than Knox tossing him behind the bar and slamming his fists through glass bottles as if they are made of tissue paper. Dalton walks away from the Road House, seemingly defeated.
Road House 2024 Soundtrack Guide: Every Song & When They Play
Dalton taking down dell's gang at the road house, dalton finally shows what he's capable of.
Dalton's legend precedes him everywhere he goes , and this builds him up to be a fearsome warrior before he ever even throws a punch. Carter quits his fight as soon as he sees Dalton in the ring, and Billy says he is a big fan as soon as he meets him. Dalton has a lot to live up to, and his first fight scene shows that he's worthy of the hype. He asks Dell if he has medical insurance first, and then he brutally dispatches him and his four friends. Dalton's bone-cracking, head-smashing skills are put on display for all to see, but he never breaks a sweat.
Dalton & Knox's Final Showdown
Road house's final fight is also its best.
Dalton and Knox's second fight is a beautifully choreographed mixture of MMA mastery and sheer power.
Road House saves the very best for last. Knox and Dalton's final fight is just as incredible as the first one, but Dalton no longer reins in his killer instincts. Their fight is a beautifully choreographed mixture of MMA mastery and sheer power. They tumble around the ruins of the bar, grappling on the floor for a while, before both tiring and going blow-for-blow with the power of two heavyweight boxers. When Dalton seems finished, he draws on something extra to fight back and brutally stabs Knox with two broken pieces of wood. Road House 's post-credits scene shows Knox alive, setting up a potential rematch for the pair.
