Is there a dress code for dinner at restaurant?
As per asking the staff, no, there is no dress code for dinner normally. They do have dressed up yacht club events sometimes (occasionally) so it's good to know just in case.

I am not a regular here but my lunch experience was good. Food was good, and the service was good. I love the setting that you have nice shades. Long time ago... I remember coming here for wine tasting. That was nice as well.
We have been members here for years! Great for pupus, drinks and fireworks on a Friday.
Dinner at WYC. #waikiki #fireworks
The Waikiki Yacht Club is a very nice club located in Ala Moana Park. The membership price is really pretty reasonable considering all the amenities - waterfront restaurant, snack bar, full bar, salt water swimming pool, lockers, showers, and boating opportunities galore. It's also great place to just hang out, visit with friends, and entertain guests. If you're shopping around for a club to join, I'd say check out the WYC.
As far as clubs go the WYC is totally a cool and laid back place to hang out. In my opinion that's what a YC should be - no cravats, Commodore thia, Commodore that - blech! They have a great location, a pool and all kinds of outdoor/open air seating to just lounge your day away in. The dining room is comfortable as is the bar area but my personal preference is out on the deck where, as a total boat nut, I can scope all the beauties tied up at the club's docks. They are soooo fine - some real hotties. The food is decent, nothing fancy but good and satisfying. Above all though, the service is excellent. The staff is SUPER friendly and make an effort to call everyone by their name, even if they just met you. I think that's just fuckin' cool. And they are not just efficient, they are totally on their game and even anticipate your needs. This is someplace I feel super comfortable at, just sipping a beer, gazing out at the boats. It's almost dangerous since I could totally hang out there most afternoons instead of working. (Tried working there once, hanging by the pool, but way too many distractions and not much work got done after a few beers.)
What a Yacht club should be; convivial, pleasant, not too fancy, and has a well stocked bar! In the words of my Maui based brother, "that was the best melted tuna and cheese sandwich i have ever had". Enough said. Nice pool to cool off in, and umbrellas to sit under. Although I am not a member I have had the pleasure of their club reciprocity many times and always go out of my way to pay them a visit when I am in Honolulu. Nothing says Hawaii to me more than sipping a drink on their deck!
Was a visitor from another boat club. It's great that they allow other boat club members to enter and eat/drink here. Parking is on the street. Good luck with that. I arrived a little too late for the ship's store to be open (why does it close most weekdays at 5?) and no one, not even the general manager, could help me buy a shirt. Feeling defeated, I tried to make the best of it and sat at the bar for a drink and appetizer. It's a beautiful location to watch the boats in the marina and relax. Service at the bar was efficient and competent. Lobster stuffed mushroom appetizer was consistent with the quality of food served at other yacht clubs of this caliber. I was never able to go back during the week and get a shirt during ship's store hours, and I'm still disappointed by that.
I had a great experience here! The staffs were extremely friendly, food was good, and the setting was romantic. We hung outside where we could see the water and boats. It was a very nice setting and the weather was perfect. We watched the sunset. If you come out here on a Friday night you could also see the fireworks. You really get the perfect view of it and it is an even more romantic setting! :) So as for the service, our waitress was very nice and helpful. We were with a party of about 20 people and she managed to get all of our requests right. For dinner I got the chicken quesadilla. It was cheap, filling, and delicious! I was very satisfied! The only thing I wasn't really satisfied with was the drink selections. They didn't have anything I wanted to order (Ex: Blue Moon, Bay breeze, Strawberry Margarita, etc). I ended up getting a Heineken in the end. But you know what? I guess that's okay because I don't expect them to have the drinks that I request for since I'm extremely selective when it comes to my drinks. Their service really makes up for it though! I'm not really sure when they close but when we left the place we were the only ones there and all the lights were shut off. The bartender was the only person left in the yacht club and he was cleaning up. I guess it was a good thing that they shut off all the lights because everyone would have still want to drink more. The thing I was surprised about was that they didn't even come up to us and warned us that they were closing. I bet if we stayed there until 1AM they would still be there to service us! Talk about good service! I'll be coming back here again soon since I want to go for a swim in their pool because I don't have any friends that have one & also for their food. Can't wait to be sipping on my drink at the pool, looking out into the ocean & getting my tan on! :)
My wife and I had after work pupu's with friends who were members of the club. The dining area overlooks the harbor and is actually over the pier... very nice. Good service, great drinks, etc... Food was good... we tried everything on the pupu menu and we liked most everything... even the hummus! Boccolini was GREAT, as was the sashimi, onion rings, fries.. steak... etc.. Definetely a repeat kind of place... in fact, we are having our Club Holiday Party there this weekend!
Location, location, location! For good food and cheap drinks in a gorgeous setting on the harbour, you'll need to be sponsored by a member.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere at the WYC. It's right on the water and you get to look at nice yachts. Plus if you go on a Friday evening you get an amazing view of the fireworks from the Hilton. The food was quite good as well. I had a shrimp special prepared with very large local shrimp. It was very good. The downside the experience? The service. They were so unbelievably slow. We sat and they took our drink orders and after the drinks came they waited a solid twenty minutes until they took our food orders. Then we waited for our food and it took quite a while to get the check as well. Said and done we were there for 2.5 hours and we left right after our check was paid. But the food and atmosphere are great. Hence four stars.
