Fun Ideas For Your Day of Yachting in Miami:

Miami is the perfect Yacht Rental Destination! Here are a few activities that you might want to consider adding to your itinerary:

Miami yacht rentals and yacht charters to Miami Marine Stadium

Home of the world-famous Ultra Music Festival, Miami Marine Stadium is one of the most popular anchoring locations for Miami yacht rentals. The turquoise waters make swimming more fun, the scenery of the stadium is breathtaking, and it draws dozens, if not hundreds, of yacht rentals in Miami each and every day of the week.

Miami yacht charters to Haulover Sandbar

The Haulover Sandbar is a very popular yacht charter destination because the sand rises above water during low tide and is just below the surface at high tide, meaning you can anchor the yacht and walk around. The beautiful sand provides an oasis for yachters to enjoy right in the middle of the bay in North Miami Beach. Only accessible by boat, you can rent a yacht from Anchor in Miami, FL. It is one of the largest sandbars you'll ever visit and there is even a food vendor that makes their rounds.  It's a top 10 yachting destination in the USA.

Yacht rentals and yacht charters to Nixon Sandbar

Another popular yacht charter destination in Miami is Nixon Sandbar. Named for the nearby Nixon Beach, it's a very busy and very popular sandbar just off Key Biscayne in Biscayne Bay.

Party yachts in Miami

Miami is the place to be for your next bachelor party, bachelorette party, birthday party, or any other celebration on a yacht. We'll provide the private yacht with a Captain and Crew, you'll pop the champagne, dance with friends, swim in the water, and have an unforgettable yacht charter experience. Party yachts in Miami with Anchor are the ONLY way to celebrate.

Or try one of these ideas:

  • Head South towards the Florida Keys or explore the coral reefs east of Key Biscayne. Add snorkeling gear to the mix if you want to get up and close to some local marine life.
  • Head to one of the other many sandbars and hang with other yachters for a fun, party atmosphere.
  • Book a multi-day charter overnight trip to Nassau or the Bahamas.
  • Check out the multi-million dollar Miami homes the way they were meant to be seen, from the water!

1.  luxury brunch, lunch or dinner harbor cruise.

Luxury Brunch, Lunch or Dinner Harbor Cruise

So this is how to really do an NYC boat tour. Choose which fine dining food option you fancy and then settle into a blissful tour around New York Harbor, with a live pianist your exceptional aural entertainment. And sure, the luxury dining and the music might be pretty good but you wait until you gaze out across the Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty and One World Trade Center from your private table with 360-degree panoramic views.

Don't miss: The sultry sounds of the onboard jazz pianist who's on a mission to get people dancing.

2.  Statue of Liberty Express Cruise

Statue of Liberty Express Cruise

Perfect for the sightseer who knows exactly what he or she wants, this Circle Line express tour goes right to the Statue of Liberty – no pit stops this time. Listen to an expert guide point out some lower Manhattan landmarks before pausing for photos right next to Lady Liberty. And since this cruise only takes an hour, it’s easy to fit into even the busiest itinerary.

Don't miss: The perfect photo opp of the famous sculpture and other harbor landmarks.

3.  NYC: Evening Jazz Cruise on the Yacht Manhattan

NYC: Evening Jazz Cruise on the Yacht Manhattan

Here’s one for the schmoozy, romantic vacationers who are seeking a maximum NYC experience. This sunset sailing cruise with a live jazz band will have you gazing (and jiving) out as the sun drops below Manhattan. Sitting on a 1920s sailing boat, you’ll sail past NYC’s biggest landmarks (including the Statue of Liberty) while a live band plays a mix of beloved classics to contemporary R&B renditions. With an alcoholic drink in hand, live jazz in your ears, and the city lights sparkling in your eyes across the water, you’re in for a swingingly good time.

Don't miss:  Asking the band to play your favorite tune.

4.  Manhattan: Private Sailing Yacht Cruise

Manhattan: Private Sailing Yacht Cruise

Don’t want to share your views of the city skyline? You don’t have to on this private tour of the Hudson River at sunset. It’s your party, so you can bring any food or drinks you like on board. You’ll feel like a high roller as you kick back on your private yacht for the evening.

Don't miss: Chill with your crew on any of the three lounge areas, including the outdoor deck and sun pad.

5.  Circle Line: Best of NYC Cruise

Circle Line: Best of NYC Cruise

How better to get your bearing in a city as enormous as NYC than by circumnavigation? The Circle Line’s two-and-a-half-hour tour does a full loop of Manhattan Island, taking passengers past plenty of the city’s most popular sights in the process. Spanning three rivers and all five boroughs, you’ll even pass within touching distance of Lady Liberty herself. In other words, get your camera ready!

Don't miss: Non-English speakers can download the Circle Line app for a translated commentary.

6.  New York City: Alive After Five Cocktail Cruise

New York City: Alive After Five Cocktail Cruise

Get a taste of the Big Apple’s nightlife scene with this happy hour boat tour on the Hudson River. The Alive After Five cocktail cruise has everything you need: a fully stocked bar, a dance floor, and a killer DJ. Did someone say tequila?

Don't miss:  Views of the Manhattan skyline as the sun goes down and the lights turn on.

7.  New York Water Taxi Cruises

New York Water Taxi Cruises

You can't miss the water taxis, they look just like the car versions: big, bright and yellow. These little beauties cruise round New York Harbor daily, passing major sites like the Chrysler and Empire State Buildings, Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty. You can stay on and complete the entire loop in 70 minutes, or hop on and off as you please, exploring the greats eats, shops and attractions in NYC's waterside neighborhoods.

Don't miss: They have a team that can help you create a custom route for your journey.

8.  AIANY: Manhattan Architecture Tour Cruise

AIANY: Manhattan Architecture Tour Cruise

The area south of 59th Street is packed with architecturally significant buildings: the Chrysler Building, the Woolworth Building, the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center just to name a few. This 90-minute boat tour on a 1920s yacht is led by a member of the New York chapter of the American Institute of Architects, meaning architecturally speaking, you’re in good hands. With their guidance, you’ll cover all of Manhattan’s most significant structures, plus the Brooklyn Bridge, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty.

Don't miss: Sip complimentary beer, wine or Champagne from the bar while you learn about infrastructure, parks and architecture.

9.  Staten Island Ferry

Staten Island Ferry

Put your purse away, because the Staten Island Ferry is totally free. That's right, in one of the most expensive cities in the world, you can find a free ride. This old chugger has been going since before any bridges were built, transporting folks from the 'burbs to Manhattan in 25 minutes. Boats leave South Ferry at Battery Park and run 24 hours a day.

Don't miss: The stunning panoramas of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty.

10.  New York City: Sunset Sail Aboard a Schooner

New York City: Sunset Sail Aboard a Schooner

Fresh air, ocean waves, a free drink and front row (floating) seats to one of the most famous sunsets in the world. It’s fair to say that this leisurely cruise on the Schooner America 2.0 really does have it all. Sit back and relax as the crew guides this 1800s style sailboat out into the harbor while deep gold light wraps up the city. You’ll glide peacefully past landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island as the sun dips behind the Manhattan skyline. What better way to say “goodbye” to a perfect NYC day?

Don't miss : Your complimentary drink that you get to sip on board.

11.  Circle Line: Beast Speedboat Ride

Circle Line: Beast Speedboat Ride

Adrenaline junkies will want to book tickets for this supercharged half-hour ride through New York Harbor. The 70-foot speedboat known as the  Beast  zooms toward the Statue of Liberty at 45 miles per hour, kicking up plenty of waves. In fact, the ride can get so intense that guides recommend wearing wetsuits.

Don't miss : The ride is accompanied by a thumping soundtrack to really kick things into high gear.

12.  NYC: Statue of Liberty Day Sail with Onboard Bar

NYC: Statue of Liberty Day Sail with Onboard Bar

This historic experience will have you feeling like you've just stepped into the heart of  The Great Gatsby— or really any other seafaring period drama. Sail Manhattan has two vessels for this experience—the 1920s restored Shearwater sailing boat, and The Clipper, a majestic tall ship with billowing sails. You’ll sail down the Hudson River on one of these spectacular ships, with the aim of the 1.5-hour sail to give you an awe-inspiring (and crowd-free) view of NYC’s biggest landmark hits.

Don't miss : The open bar that's slinging drinks all hour long.

The yachts operate 365 days a year, even when the Moskva river gets frozen (yes, those yachts are icebreakers!).

Christ the Savior Cathedral

The main Russian Cathedral is situated on the bank of the Moskva River. With an overall height of 105 metres (344 ft), it is the tallest Orthodox church in the world. The Cathedral looks very nice from water: you may see the reflection of the golden domes on the water.

Monument of Peter the Great and the Red October district

Dominating the landscape, this controversial monument of Peter the Great stays right in the river and reminds us of the bright times of the Russian Navy. The “Red October” used to be the territory of the leading Soviet chocolate factory (which has moved now). It is a popular urban area now, that hosts clubs, restaurants and galleries.

The Kremlin

The legendary fortress is of course the well-known symbol of Moscow and Russia. The active residence of Russian President and the birthplace of the Russian Statehood. Should we mention that the whole complex is protected by UNESCO World Heritage organization. You will have a great opportunity to take amazing pictures from the open deck of the yacht.

St Basil Cathedral

This orthodox cathedral has the world-wide fame and is one of the most popular sights in Russia. The vivid colors of its domes together with the unique decoration style will impress your imagination. Our guide will tell you the most interesting stories and facts about this remarkable building.

Stalin’s Skyscraper

Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building is one of the so called “Seven Sisters” , which are also called Stalin’s skyscrapers. They all were built during the post war years, all projects are unique although they have similar architectural style.

River Cruise on Luxurious Radisson Boat

Equipped with ice-breaking technology, these huge fancy yachts are the only river cruisers running all year around. The round trip journey takes two and a half hours and floats past all the big sights like the White House, Novodevichy monastery and the Kremlin. There’s a large open air observation deck up top, while the main body of the ship houses a restaurant with a dance floor for a romantic post dinner dance. For a particularly romantic experience take one of the evening boats and admire the bright lights of the city skyline at night.

The most relaxing and picturesque tour that Moscow can offer: a great way to see the city center and its main attractions. This is a perfect alternative to exploring the city by car, if you only have time to do sightseeing during weekday rush hours.

Your English-speaking guide is eager to share every bit of their knowledge about the surrounding landscape, the architecture and historical details.

We conduct Moscow river tour on Radisson Flotilla boats all year around!  It’s warm inside during winter months, while there’s air conditioning during hot summer days. You may also treat yourself to drinks, lunch or dinner on board (drinks and food are not included in tour price).

Syracuse Boat Tours offer themed cruises on Onondaga Lake

There are few American cities where you can relax on a boat in the middle of a lake and take in a sweeping view of the skyline as you sip a cocktail.

Syracuse is one of those geographically blessed cities where such pleasures are possible—if you own a boat, that is.

Now the boatless among us can enjoy a cruise around Onondaga Lake without the hassle of owning a boat, thanks to Syracuse Boat Tours , a new marine tourism-focused company that began booking cruises earlier this month.

The public response so far has been “pretty solid,” said owner/operator Annette Peters, a Syracuse native who lives on the Seneca River.

“I love this community, and we’ve got a jewel in Onondaga Lake that we just don’t appreciate,” Peters said. “I’ve taken people out on my boat on Onondaga Lake for years and they’re always so shocked how beautiful it is and how seldom its used.”

Syracuse Boat Tours

Peters says she’s picking up where Mid-Lakes Navigation, the last company to offer Onondaga Lake cruises, left off about 10 years ago. The company operates one boat at the moment, a 22-passenger pontoon boat.

Scheduled open-seating for one-hour or 90-minute cruises depart daily. The best way to get a seat is to book online . The boat is also available for private charters.

Depending on the cruise, admission costs $12.50-$15 for children; $27.50-$30 for adults.

Syracuse Boat Tours offers a range of themed cruises, including:

  • Tiki Cruises: jam to Caribbean music as you sip fruity cocktails/mocktails. On Tiki Tuesdays the boat will pick you up and drop you off at the funky Tiki Bar on the Seneca River, where passengers get a ten percent discount.
  • Happy Hour Cruises: Cruise from the Seneca River into the lake and watch the Syracuse skyline come into view. Music provided, or passengers can bring their own playlists.
  • Historical Cruises: Narrated cruises that delve into the lake’s long history.
  • Sunset Cruises: Get a front row seat to a spectacular sunset over the lake.

Other themed cruises will be scheduled throughout the summer, including a wine-tasting tour, a Seneca River cruise, bourbon-tasting tour, and fall cider and foliage tours.

If business is good, Peters plans to upgrade service next year with a bigger boat ideal for dinner cruises. The pontoon boat could then be used to shuttle passengers to the Amp, Inner Harbor/Aquarium, Onondaga Lake Park, or the Tiki Bar on the river.

As more people recognize Onondaga Lake as a tourist destination, Peters says she’s positioned to take advantage of CNY’s future growth.

“We need a water taxi, and this is the first one,” she said. “That’s the dream.”

How to Charter a Boat

If you want to sail off into the sunset, at least temporarily, you need to understand how to get aboard first.

An illustration of the bow of a boat with three women with flowing hair and cocktails looking over a man playing a guitar and then off in the water, four other vacationers are sunbathing on inner tubes.

By Lauren Sloss

This time of year, it’s an inevitable thought: Life would be that much better out on the water. Specifically, on a boat.

Even if you have neither a boat nor boating experience, it’s never been easier to make your nautical dreams come true — whether you want a day trip on your local lake or a fully staffed multiday voyage in a far-flung locale. Here are the initial questions that will help you plan an adventure on the water.

Whom are you traveling with?

Thinking about the size and dynamic of your group is an important first step, even if you are simply going on a day trip. Will children be on board? How old? What about elderly parents?

Dan Lockyer, the chief commercial officer of Dream Yacht Worldwide , strongly encourages travelers to determine group size — and, ideally, get people committed — before booking.

“The location that you want to go to, the time of year that you want to go, the type of boat that you want will entirely depend on the makeup of the group that you’re sailing with,” Mr. Lockyer said.

Do you want to captain, or do you want a captain?

Different charter companies specialize in certain locations, types of boats, itineraries and services. Some companies offer the opportunity for a “bareboat” charter, in which you rent the boat and take on the navigation and provisioning yourself, while others exclusively offer fully staffed options, including a captain and a cook.

If you want to captain the boat yourself, almost all outfits require some kind of proof of sailing or boating experience, often in line with local regulations.

Edward King, 45, an executive at a streaming company based in San Francisco, is experienced in sailing the city’s waterways. But on vacation, he said he would prefer to let a captain and crew take the lead.

Mr. King said he appreciates a captain who is familiar with both the local waters — “they’ll know how to avoid sailing into a certain sandbar,” he said, — as well as the local attractions.

In contrast, Matt Blake, 38, a software engineer based in Oakland, Calif., was eager to grow his sailing experience during a recent trip to La Paz, Mexico, with his fiancée. He hired a captain but made clear that the captain was there to help and teach.

Where do you want to go?

“Do you want something that’s more culturally oriented? Nature oriented? An adventure trip?” asked Mary Curry, the voyage product director of Adventure Life , which offers small group tours and private trips on land and on water around the world.

That answer can determine your destination. Popular cruising grounds include the Caribbean, Croatia, Alaska and French Polynesia, but the sky — or the sea — is really the limit. For help narrowing your focus, travel advisers often have relationships with charter companies or outfits around the world, and sailing publications offer recommendations.

Kyla Malkani, who has had experience with charters working as a destination wedding planner, recommends consulting the concierge of waterfront hotels, particularly for short-term or day rentals.

“A lot of times they will have either their own fleet or they will have some sort of connection at a dock,” said Ms. Malkani, 37, who is based in Washington, D.C., and is currently working as a content creator and freelance event planner.

What kind of boat?

Where you want to travel and for how long will likely determine the kinds of boats that are available to you. Crucial at this point, too, is an understanding of the boat’s layout and amenities.

“You definitely want to choose the right kind of boat,” said Ms. Malkani. “If you want more adventure, a sailboat is nice. If you’re looking for a luxury party environment, a yacht is best. And if you’re looking for something smooth, for older people or with kids, a catamaran is great.”

David Barclay is a luxury travel adviser who has also chartered boats for his own vacations.

“You want to match what the travelers want to what the boat offers,” he said.

Perhaps a group of friends might not mind a catamaran with functional but not luxurious marine bathrooms, but a multigenerational group might prefer more high-touch amenities.

When should I book?

Often, charter trips are once-in-a-lifetime experiences that require a great deal of advanced planning.

“You may have a specific place you want to go, or a specific time of year you want to travel,” said Mr. Barclay. “And some places just aren’t good at certain times of year.”

Naturally, you don’t want to be at sea in the Caribbean during hurricane season, or in the Mediterranean during winter storms. But you also might want to avoid peak cruising seasons, too.

The first three weeks of August are quite popular, said Mr. Lockyer. “If you have some flexibility and can travel in early July, you’ll get the same sort of great weather, a greater selection of boats and the anchorages won’t be as crowded.”

How much does it cost?

Charter costs are incredibly variable, dependent on all of the factors coming into play: your boat type and size, your destination, your group size, the amount of crew you’d like and the amenities on board. That said, costs could range anywhere from $2,000 for a day on a sailboat to hundreds of thousands of dollars for a multiday mega-yacht charter. Have a budget in mind when beginning your research process.

What if I didn’t plan far in advance?

While advanced planning is encouraged, and often necessary for bigger boat trips, it’s possible to book a boat last-minute.

Boatsetter , an Airbnb-like platform for boats, is a good resource for last-minute bookings, especially for day trips, and even has an Instant Book option for down-to-the-wire bookings.

“If it’s for a special event, or around major holidays, you may want to book a month or two in advance. But for general bookings, you can find options within a week or two,” said Kim Koditek, Boatsetter’s head of brand strategy and communications, of the company’s overnight offerings, which appear on their platform under the luxury yacht charters category .

Ms. Malkani has used Boatsetter for some of her charters, most of which have been booked with a specific goal in mind.

“I’m a sunset chaser,” she said. “My husband and I just really love being on the water, and we always try to squeeze in some sort of boat day activity when we’re traveling.”

It’s unclear if the man found dead is the same man who was missing after a recreational fishing boat he was riding in collided with a commercial tanker.

The crash happened at 5:30 a.m. Saturday at the Aransas Pass and Lydia Ann Channel intersection. Crews searched for the man on Saturday and suspended their search on Sunday morning.

The crash happened just before 5:30 a.m. at the Aransas Pass and Lydia Ann Channel intersection, not far from the ferry, according to U.S. Coast Guard Heartland and media reports.

U.S. Coast Guard Captain Torrey Bertheau told KIIITV that crews arrived and pulled three men out of the water.

One man was pronounced dead and two were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The search for a fourth man continued Saturday but concluded on Sunday morning, according to the Port Aransas South Jetty .

The names of the man who died and the man missing have not been released.

I took a scenic boat tour around Paris that stopped at all the major landmarks, and I can't believe it only cost $20

  • I took a boat tour that cruised by nearly all the major monuments in Paris and only cost about $20.
  • It was crowded, and some buildings were difficult to see, but I found the guide informative.
  • I'd go on the tour again, and I recommend it to anyone visiting Paris .

Insider Today

I'm an American who's lived in Paris for almost three years. After all this time, I still had one thing on my bucket list: Tour the city by boat.

I took advantage of a good summer weather day and went on an hourlong tour with Vedettes de Paris that cost 20 euros, or about $22.

Over 15 million tourists are  set to flood the city this month for the Summer Olympics, and I'm not that interested in fighting through crowds on the streets. Luckily, the boat tour sails by several of Paris' most famous landmarks, so I thought it would be a good way to get my fix from a more comfortable distance.

Here's what it was like.

I made sure I had plenty of time to get to the boat.

yacht boat ride

I chose to sail on a 6:30 p.m. boat tour and booked my ticket the day before to save some time at the docks.

The tour company recommended arriving 20 minutes early — they start letting people on the boats about 15 minutes before. Because of the construction happening around the Paris Olympics , I gave myself plenty of time to get there.

Being early also allowed me to get a seat on the top deck, where I could enjoy the best view.

We left on time, and a few people missed the boat because they had arrived just a few seconds before departure.

I learned a lot in just one hour.

yacht boat ride

I've hesitated to go on the boat tour in the past because things like this tend to be very touristy. But I was surprised by how many iconic French monuments I saw and learned about in one hour.

Our path started at the Eiffel Tower and went past Notre Dame before turning around after the Arab World Institute. A live guide spoke about nearly all the monuments we passed in English and French — the company's app also provided translations in other languages.

I wasn't expecting to learn much since I've lived in Paris for a few years, but I actually really enjoyed the guide. The tour was very basic but a good starting point for learning more about a city with so much history.

Although some were slightly obscured, I spotted many of the city's major monuments.

yacht boat ride

The boat tour started with a history of the Eiffel Tower before passing by the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais. We also passed by the National Assembly, the Louvre Museum , and the French Academy.

Because of the preparations for the Olympics, some areas were slightly obscured by scaffolding. I was barely able to see the obelisk at Place de la Concorde as it was hidden behind stands.

I was also only able to quickly glance at other monuments like the Tour Saint-Jacques before they disappeared behind buildings.

My favorite part was seeing Notre Dame appear after going under a bridge.

yacht boat ride

Notre Dame is one of my favorite monuments, and seeing it appear as the boat came out from under a bridge was incredible. The cathedral is set to reopen in December after a damaging fire in 2019, and they've made a lot of progress on the restorations.

As we continued down the river, many people were having picnics and dancing by the Seine — a popular summertime activity in Paris . Our guide also pointed out the nearby La Tour d'Argent, a famous restaurant with a rooftop terrace.

I think I figured out how to make the tour even better next time.

yacht boat ride

Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world , and seeing it by boat felt very special. The boat was a bit crowded, and there were a lot of families and tourists, but that didn't interfere with my experience at all.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the tour. One thing I'd do differently next time is to go around sunset. If you time it right, you'll return as the Eiffel Tower starts sparkling, which happens on the hour after sunset every evening.

Whether you're on a budget or just looking for a good value, the boat tour is worth it. I definitely plan to take any visiting friends and family in the future.

Boat Test: 2024 Scout 357 LXF

  • By John Tiger
  • July 4, 2024

Scout has been building quality fishing boats since 1989. Replacing the popular 355 LXF , the new 357 LXF center-console is part of the nine-boat lineup of luxury-cruisers aimed squarely at the higher-end slice of the outboard offshore-fishing market, appealing to buyers who want a performance-flavored, ultra-finished, luxury approach in their new center-console fishing conveyance.

Scout 357 LXF running near shore

The 357 fires a magnum bullet with triple 400 Mercury Verado outboard power. With these, we spun multiple 72.2 mph top-end speed runs in rough, windblown channel chop. The V-10s pulled 6,400 rpm swinging 27-pitch stainless-steel four-blade Mercury Revolution X SS propellers through 2.08-to-1 gear ratios. While acceleration won’t scare any quick PWC or little single-engine hot-rod hulls, it was plenty zippy considering the 35-by-11-foot size and 14,000-pound heft. With 180 gallons in the 319-gallon tank, we hit 30 mph in 7.4 seconds from dead in-gear idle. Fuel-sippers who dislike dawdling will like the efficient cruise speed we noted. At 4,000 rpm, the 22-degree-deadrise stepped Scout V-bottom was reaching 1.15 miles per gallon—and so netting more than 390 miles of range while leaving 10 percent in reserve. A long weekend of cruising, fishing and island-hopping without refueling is easily in the cards.

Scout 357 LXF helm

In many cases, a fast hull trades comfort for speed and punch. Not the 357 LXF. Its deep-V double-stepped hull offers a crisp, smooth and stable ride. Turns are predictable; it takes room to slow this beast, but the hull cuts and banks as it arcs around in tight hard-over turns. Planing shows pronounced bow rise as that elongated nose breaks over, then the hull flattens out and scoots. The resin-infused fiberglass hull features a pad bottom with multiple lifting strakes and a set-back transom, all of which translates into enhanced performance and efficiency.

Each 357 LXF is built alongside Scout’s other models ranging from 17 to 53 feet, with its newest flagship 67-footer set to debut sometime this season. Scout’s Summerville, South Carolina, plant is most impressive, employing over 400 workers and seemingly under constant expansion. Each Scout is designed, prototyped, tested and built right there in the plant. Even the electrical harnesses, plumbing and fixtures are built in-house. We spent some time there observing the processes in the prototype stage, the electrical assembly clean room, the gelcoat and layup stage, and the final assembly line. With the exception of the computer-aided prototyping and calculations, it’s done by hand. The epoxy-infused layup is as efficient as it gets, tossing aside the age-old adage that an offshore boat must be laid up heavy to last and offer a smooth ride.

Scout 357 LXF cabin

Interior and Accessories

Posh forward seating includes a lounger for two on the forward console as well as wraparound seating/loungers in the bow, with an electrically actuated bow table that can retract flush with the seats to accommodate an upholstered filler cushion to create a spacious sun lounger.

The cockpit layout offers a center-mounted helm, triple heated helm seating with flip-up bolsters behind a fully integrated pilot’s console surrounded by a custom Scout-designed and -built T-top with full safety-glass enclosure. Helm controls feature a Fusion Bluetooth amplified eight-speaker sound system, Garmin 8612 display, lighted electronically controlled switching, compass, USB ports, and courtesy lighting. Rear-facing aft cooler bench passenger seating rounds out the console. An optional electric telescoping sunshade is a techie touch that makes sun-scorched days easier on the skin; add optional air conditioning for ultimate comfort. A hardtop solar-panel trickle charger, an additional charger and batteries keep all the accessories humming. A Seakeeper 3 option is a great choice for rougher seas.

Scout 357 LXF head

Belowdecks, the overnight cabin features a double berth, marine head with electric pump, Corian counter surfaces, sink, refrigerator, port and starboard windows, a 19-inch built-in flat-screen TV, a removable teak cabin table, and multiple storage cubbies.

In the bow, an electrically actuated bow table/sun lounge rises from an Esthec deck for casual gatherings. An anchor camera is standard, making mooring easier from the cockpit, and an aft-facing bench seat converts into a raised prep table. Grigio bow-cushion upholstery is available, along with other color options.

For anglers, the 60-gallon transom fish/storage box, port and starboard 43-gallon in-floor fish boxes, and a 47-gallon cockpit baitwell are all standard, as are 10 gunwale-mounted stainless-steel rod holders. Options include retractable hardtop rocket launchers, electric-reel plugs, underwater lights, and hardtop-mounted outriggers.

Scout 357 LXF aft seating

Abaft, anglers and water enthusiasts alike will enjoy the full-width walkable swim/engine platform with a starboard-side walk-through door.

Fountain’s 34CC, powered with triple 400 Verados, comes in at a base price of $586,150 before options. It’s a 76 mph runner with a 519-mile range at cruising speed.

Scout has honed its LXF lineup over many years. This latest 357 LXF takes its rightful place as a premier 35-foot fisher, with style and comfort and performance.
