It has since delivered an impressive portfolio of innovative custom-built superyachts, pledging to work on a single project for a single client to build superyachts ready for the 22 nd century. A big statement of intent.

To date, the group has launched 58 sailing yachts and four motor yachts. Its track record for innovative sailing yachts has seen it set the standard for excellence in the sector, launching more yachts over 50 metres (164 feet) than any other builder. It's responsible for the iconic 88-metre (288-foot) three-masted schooner Maltese Falcon, which currently holds the title of the sixth largest sailing yacht in the world, and other award-winning sailing yachts, such as the 73-metre (239-foot) Nautilus, 70-metre (229-foot) Badis I and 64-metre (210-foot) Spirit Of The C’s.

Feadship announces 75m superyacht concept powered entirely by fuel cells
Dutch yard Feadship has announced a new, 75-metre concept known as C, with full details to be revealed at this year's Monaco Yacht Show . The superyacht has been designed by Studio de Voogt to commemorate Feadship's 75th Diamond Anniversary.
C is inspired by the design of a diamond and how its facets reflect and magnify light, which manifests in the use of glazing to "draw light deep into the yacht's interior". Her hull shape and fully electric propulsion system marks an evolution from the shipyard's concept Breathe, revealed in 2010 and the award-winning Savannah .
This concept is predicted to be "30 per cent more efficient than a typical 75-metre yacht" with dual shafts, propellers, and rudders, according to Feadship. The yacht will also follow on from Feadship's ground-breaking Project 821 by drawing 100 per cent of her power needs from fuel cells directly running on methanol and complimented by lithium-metal batteries.
Other "innovations" on board C are the partially enclosed lower deck sea lounge, to be used at anchor or underway, a beach club with sea-level dining, a duplex owner’s suite and an articulating crow’s nest rising from a private observation deck. A pair of infinity-edge hexagonal pools match the shapes of various seating areas and the atrium.
The new concept also follows on from an earlier concept, Pure, and the recently-delivered Ulysses with a fully digital command centre and navigation hub that includes "the latest in intelligent situational awareness technology with cameras and data fusion".
The yacht is expected to reach a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots. Additional power for the hotel load will be generated passively by two pairs of wave-actuated fins that fold out from the hull aft of the anchors.

SPECIFICATION
The CMY173 has been designed with a big boat look and feel, yet she is easily handled solo or by a couple cruising. Delivering this fresh and unique yacht to the prestige motorboat market has involved concept and styling by the Compact Mega Yachts team and architecture by Australian Naval Architect Paul Bury. The Upper Deck Lounge provides recreational space whilst the vessel is both at rest and underway. The rear dining area features a glass interactive dining table which can display navigation data, AIS charts, interactive entertainment, recreational games like chess and air hockey and much more.
Finnish boatbuilding skills from the locality of Jakobstad are legendary, Both the Nautor Swan and Baltic Yacht yards are located on the same headland within easy walking distance of the OQS factory. The CMY161 interior is built in modular units which are lowered into the vessel once complete. This method ensures the maximum quality of local craftsmanship, quality and accuracy. The interior of the 161 has a spacious, light and airy feel due to the additional volume created by the outboard engines. The styling is big boat and with gyro-stabilisation, the overall impression onboard is one of comfort and luxury associated with larger vessels.
Boatbuilding skills from the locality of Jakobstad in Finland are legendary. Many of the OQS team have honed their skills at Nautor’s Swan or Baltic Yachts, which are located on the same headland within easy walking distance of the OQS factory. The beautiful real wood interior of the CMY173 is built in modular units which are lowered into the vessel once complete. This method utilises local skills and craftsmanship to ensure maximum quality, efficiency and accuracy. The interior of the 161 has a spacious, light and airy feel due to the additional volume created by the ‘walk-over’ side decks. The clean lines, spacious and uncluttered styling, gives the overall impression of the comfort and luxury generally associated with larger vessels.
The standard CMY173 features triple OXE Diesel 300hp outboard motors developed in conjunction with BMW. These outboards give extraordinary economy and low emissions whilst developing a very high level of torque. Through the bite of the stainless-steel propellers, the 900hp generated takes the 173 to around 27 knots at full speed and 24 knots cruising.
Compact Mega Yachts is pioneering “adaptable powering” by utilising only the number of engines and horsepower required to do the task at hand. Three for top speed, two for Joystick docking, or just the centre engine for casual or long-distance cruising. One engine, ECO mode, gives greater than 2,000-mile range at 7.5 knots using a minimal one litre of fuel per nautical mile.
And any maintenance required is aided by easy access. The front of the engines is accessible when lowered, or with them raised service the gearbox and props from the rear swim platform. If required, engines can be unbolted and easily removed for service, repair or upgrade without any costly deck or interior work.
OXE 300hp Diesel Outboards consume up to 40% less fuel compared to gas petrol outboards. Developed in-house with OXE, our 'adaptable powering' concept reduces fuel consumption further by only using the horsepower (engines) that are required. It reduces drag by keeping unused engines out of the water. Lower fuel usage and less drag dramatically reduces the consumption and cost of running. It also reduces pollution which depletes natures reserves less quickly. One might say ... it’s revolutionary. We call it ‘ECO Mode’.
The CMY173 is rich with the latest technology. These features offer more comfort, safety and more fun! The OXE diesel engines are groundbreaking for longevity and fuel economy. Gyro stabilisation and ZIPWAKE dynamic trim-control make for a smoother, roll free experience. Joystick docking, GPS position-holding and Birds Eye docking all take the stress out of mooring or close quarter manoeuvring. State of the art Garmin electronics not only serve to navigate but they also communicate with the engines and entertainment systems. The PLC automated control system allows control of many electrical functions, but also monitors fuel and water tankage. The BOYD Touch Table will certainly be popular with families as it has endless digital interactive uses, as well as serving as a stylish dining table.

In today's interconnected word we all rely on our devices for both essential needs and entertainment. The CMY173 will embrace technology by offering a hydraulic height-adjustable interactive dining table. The table will offer interactive content via the BOYD luxury brand platform plus access to important navigation features such as AIS charting and weather data. The BOYD TOUCH TABLE has full internet connectivity. Information on all major aspects of the 161 are accessible through the table. But its greatest feature is hidden ... at the press a hidden button and the whole surface of the table raises 80 degrees electronically to become a 4k cinema 55" screen for the interior!
PRELIMINARY LAYOUT
CMY 173 COMMAND & CONTROL
The larger 173 has two control stations, the principle one on main deck level with co-pilot seating alongside. All the important controls are easily accessible. On the sun-deck lounge above there is a hidden control station for helming outside, which is particularly useful for manoeuvring in port.
On both saloon layout options, the large concertina doors at the rear of the saloon slide right back to connect the saloon with the outside dining area, featuring the IP67 rated BOYD Touch Table and seating for 6-8 guests.
The ‘Walk-Over’ side decks leading to the bow create greater room inside than in conventional walk-around side deck layouts. The salon, galley and dining area, gain nearly 30% more internal volume compared with an equivalent walk-around side decks boat.
Both interior options share the same forward cabin design. An owner suite, guest cabin and two heads with stall showers, makes the boat perfect for a family or two couples. The versatile saloon seating can be converted to sleeping areas, accommodating occasional guests.
CMY 173 STANDARD
The port side U-shaped dining area is suitable for comfortable dining for six and is convertible into a sleeping area. Aft on the port side is an entertainment centre and storage area.
Just steps down from the main saloon floor, the galley is tucked out of sight, but open enough to be socially connected. Plenty of counter space, ample storage and all the essential appliances, including a 4-burner induction stove, will compliment the best culinary skills.
Aft of the galley is a lounge area, which is also convertible into a sleeping area.
CMY173 OPEN PLAN
Port side lounge/dining area is capable of seating 6-8 guests. With the table folded it converts to a lounge relaxation area. The area is convertible for sleeping for guests or crew if required.
Featuring a multi-purpose Breakfast & Bar style counter and a well appointed galley with no lack of working space, appliances or storage.
Space below the work surfaces house white goods and appliances to cater for the most discerning of chefs.

Azov stands on the delta of the River Don as it flows into the Sea of Azov. Due to its strategic significance it has been inhabited for centuries by various peoples and it only became part of Russia in the 18th century upon the efforts of Peter the Great who desired access to the Black Sea via Azov.
