The original owner who commissioned the AZTECA, Francisco Hernando, was very involved in the design elements of the yacht.

AZTECA yacht interior
Nuvolari Lenard’s Valentina Zannier designed the interior of the AZTECA yacht which includes warm and sober tones from cream to dark brown and features walnut, glossy rosewood, and mahogany.
The yacht has accommodation for 16 guests in 8 cabins and cabins to house 28 crew members.
The crew members also have a crew mess and gym on the tank deck. There is a sky lounge, a separate cinema room, a spa, and a hair salon.
She also has an expansive sundeck full of amenities for entertaining in the indoor/outdoor space.
Francisco Hernando, the original owner, was intimately involved in the vessel’s design to create a guest experience close to the water.
The beach club is impressively sized and opens with a massive transom door that creates an indoor/outdoor area with a bar and salon.
The tender garage is filled with water toys like jet skis and a low-profile tender. The yacht features extensive pantry options, making it an excellent vessel for entertaining.
The entertainment features of the AZTECA yacht were one of the many reasons that Pliego bought the $80 Million Superyacht.
Her exterior exudes elegance and power with a streamlined gray-painted steel hull and light cream-colored aluminum superstructure. She has teak decking and consists of 4 decks.
The exterior was designed by Nuvolari Lenard and built by CRN yachts in 2010. Azteca is the largest boat built by CRN at the time of her launch.
Specifications
AZTECA has a gross tonnage of 1891 tons and is powered by Caterpillar engines . The yacht reaches a top speed of 17kn and a cruising speed of 15kn and has a range of 6000 nautical miles.
AZTECA has a length of 72m, with a beam of 13.5m and a draft of 3.5m. She has a Lloyd’s Classification and an annual running cost of $5 – $8 Million.

Performance & Range
Azteca is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 17 knots with a range of up to 5,400 nautical miles from her 110,000 litre fuel tanks at cruising speed. An advanced stabilisation system on board reduces the side-to-side roll of the yacht and promises guests exceptional comfort levels at anchor or when underway.
Azteca has aboard a plentiful range of water toys and accessories ready to entertain you and your guests whilst on charter. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. Guests can experience the thrill and adventure of riding one of the two SeaDoo RTX WaveRunners. Motor Yacht
Motor yacht Azteca, formally Clarena II, was built in 2009 by Italian shipyard CRN and at the time of her launch she was the largest yacht ever to be launched by the company. With a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she features naval architecture by CRN and the interior and exterior design talents of Nuvolari & Lenard. This twin-screw superyacht measures 72 metres and can accommodate up to 12 guests.
Built specifically for guests to interact closely with the ocean, motor yacht Azteca is the latest build for the previous owner of the 2003, 46 metre Clarena also designed by Nuvolari & Lenard.
The new Azteca, known as hull number 124, was designed through thoughtful analysis of the Owner’s wishes, resulting in a dashing hull-shape, a sharp bow, and modern, streamlined external forms.
Her owner desired a yacht that would be a perfect tribute to family life at sea, and her designers honoured this request by incorporating an innovative 100 square-metre beach club aft.
Here, the swim platform transforms into a large beach area almost in the sea itself, fully equipped with a shower and chairs ideal for sunbathing. For those who wish to sit inside, the adjoining internal area is designed for comfort and relaxation, outfitted with sofas so guests can enjoy the proximity of the sea.
Amongst her six cabins are a lavish owner suite and five double cabins. The accommodations are well-worth a mention onboard Azteca; the Owner’s suite alone covers 120 square-metres. Found forward on the main deck, the suite is accessed via private lobby and includes his and hers bathroom, separate massage room and cinema room. Perhaps most striking of all is the hatch that can be lowered 90 degrees to act as a balcony hovering directly over the waves.
There are also accommodations onboard to cater for a crew of up to 28.
Luxury yacht Azteca is powered by two Caterpillar 3516B-CHD engines that allow her to reach a maximum speed of 16.5 knots and cruise comfortably at 15 knots. She can achieve a range of 6,000 nautical miles while cruising at a speed of 12 knots.
As the largest CRN yacht ever built, the 124 needed her own special operating structure to be built. Measuring 95 metres long and 25 metres high, the 2,660 square-metre structure becomes the biggest in the production facility.

- AZTECA accommodates 12 guests in 6 elegant staterooms. The huge, full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck is completely customized with a luxurious en suite bath. In addition to the owner’s suite, AZTECA has one full-beam VIP suite and four guest cabins located on the lower deck 1 x Master Cabin (king bed) 1 x VIP Cabin (king bed) 2 x Queen Cabins (queen bed) 2 x Twins (two separate twin beds in each cabin). The Sundeck, Upper Deck and Main Deck are fitted with day heads for guest use.
- This space has a huge sun bathing area, a shaded area, plus a six person Jacuzzi.
- On the bridge deck we have the Wheelhouse, Captain's Cabin, another lobby, and the main guest area. This includes a TV Saloon with a poker table and a very large Al Fresco Area with a bar and a twelve seat mahogany table.
- The full beam Owner's suite includes a fully equipped owner’s office and en suite. Moving out of the master suite we find the main lobby followed by the Main salon with two areas, the dining table and a large TV lounge. The fwd area is used to house the Air conditioning room, aft of this are two double crew cabins for the Engineer and 1st mate.
- The lower deck accommodates the VIP suite plus two double cabins and two twin cabins, a lobby and stairs to go up to the main deck and upper deck. This deck also accommodates the crew area and laundry.

The huge sundeck includes ample sunbeds and loungers for soaking up the sun, as well as shaded areas to retire to in the midday heat and a six-person jacuzzi. For those looking for action closer to the water, AZTECA II boasts an impressive toybox. As an RYA-approved water sports center, the crew is able to issue Personal Watercraft Licenses, enabling guests to make the most of the SeaBobs, Sea-Doos, Standup Jet Skis, paddleboards, kayaks, wakeboards, wake skis, and kitesurfing equipment. The extensive onboard diving and snorkeling equipment allow experienced and novice divers alike to explore mysterious underwater worlds.

CRN Reveals The 72-Metre Azteca Superyacht

CRN Yachts, a brand from the Ferretti Group, has just unveiled their largest superyacht to date, the 72-Metre Azteca. The yacht is ranked in the top 100 yachts in the world, and the fully custom project features a 100 square metre beach club and accommodation for 12 guests.
The Azteca also comes with alfresco areas, a Jacuzzi, helipad and sun pads while the owner’s suite boasts a private cinema room with a 65 inch flat screen television. The superyacht has two garages which hold Riva Shuttles that can offer a maximum speed of 45 knots, a seven metre long service tender and four jet skis>
The Chairman of CRN and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of the Ferretti Group Lamberto Tacoli declared that their design team and production house managed to transfer their passion and dedication to this craft which is their longest yacht and also the most technologically advanced to date.
The 72-Metre Azteca Superyacht is powered by twin Caterpillar 3516 engines which can take this luxury yacht to a top speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots.
