Yacht Club Highlights:

  • Great location! The Yacht Club is walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios (which is also easily accessible by boat or Skyliner.)
  • Stormalong Bay! This gorgeous water complex includes a sand bottom pool, pirate slide, and lazy river.
  • A diner’s paradise! In addition to two theme parks, the Yacht Club is also walking distance to the Beach Club, Boardwalk Inn, and Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. Being so close to four additional deluxe resorts provides extensive dining and entertainment options.

What is the Yacht Club like?

The Yacht Club (YC) is a five-story, 630 room resort, slightly larger than its sister resort, the Beach Club (BC), located along the shore of Crescent Lake, opposite the Boardwalk Resort . Themed after seaside New England hotels of the late 1800s, the Yacht Club has a stately, nautical look and feel; hardwood floors and brass accents enhance this feeling. Guests staying at both the Yacht Club and Beach Club have the exclusive use of Stormalong Bay, a 750,000 gallon pool/mini-water park complete with water slide, sandy bottom, whirlpools, and water currents.

Why stay at the Yacht Club?

Three very important reasons: Location, Location, Location. The Yacht Club is one of the most conveniently located resorts on Disney’s property. The Yacht Club is within walking distance of Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Boardwalk, the Swan, and the Dolphin hotels. If you don’t feel like walking you can choose a short boat ride to any of these places instead.

If you like fine dining, you will be in the center of it all. Not only do the Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Boardwalk all have terrific choices, you are also just minutes away from the international flavor of Epcot’s World Showcase. If you like to swim, one of the best hotel pools, Stormalong Bay, is right under your nose. There are several other recreational activities available at the Yacht Club (described below).

Transportation – How do I get there from here?

  • EPCOT – EPCOT can be easily reached by foot via a short 10-minute walk along the water way leading to Epcot’s International Gateway. If walking isn’t for you, there is a boat to ferry guests from all the Epcot resorts (Swan, Dolphin, Boardwalk, Yacht Club, and Beach Club) to the International Gateway, but the walk is faster and a bit more scenic. To board the boat, simply exit the lobby on the rear side of the hotel and walk straight down to the dock – just look for the lighthouse. Be sure you’re in the Epcot line (left side facing the water), not Disney’s Hollywood Studios line (right side facing the water) line.Epcot resort guests CAN use the International Gateway entrance to Epcot even though World Showcase may not yet be open for the day. Cast members will help usher you toward Future World in Epcot. The International Gateway also offers full-service ticketing and purchasing of annual passes. The guest services window usually opens 30 minutes prior to park opening.

  • You can take a leisurely 15 to 20 minute one-mile stroll along the path that follows the waterway connecting the Epcot resort area with the Hollywood Studios.
  • Take the Friendship boat f rom the right side of the boat dock. You can meet the boat at the dock just as you would the boat for Epcot, by exiting the rear of the hotel and walking straight down to the lighthouse. Again, make sure you catch the right boat. The CMs will surely let you know which boat you’re getting on. The boat usually stops by the Swan and Dolphin and Boardwalk via the Studios. The trip takes about 20 minutes.
  • Take the Disney Skyliner. Walk to International Gateway and climb aboard the most Magical Flight on Earth! You will need to transfer to the Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Caribbean Beach Station.

  • Magic Kingdom – The Magic Kingdom can be reached by taking a bus from the front of the hotel. Another longer, but more scenic, journey is to take the monorail from Epcot’s front entrance, transfer at the TTC, and then continue to the MK. Traveling this way does take some time and some walking, but you get to see a little bit more, and it lends to resort hopping if the mood strikes. Keep in mind this route will likely taste at least an hour.
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Disney’s Animal Kingdom can be reached by taking a bus from the front of the hotel.

do all yacht club rooms have balconies

  • Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, and Disney Springs – Buses take you directly from the hotel to these locations after picking up passengers from the Beach Club and Boardwalk Inn. Travel times vary to each of these locations, but many of these attractions are relatively close to the Yacht Club, so you never have to wait too long.

Note that when using the buses, they will usually stop at the Beach Club; however sometimes it will also stop at the Boardwalk, the Swan and the Dolphin resorts. The tends to happen during the middle of the day or during low crowd times.

  • Disney’s Boardwalk – The Boardwalk faces the Yacht and Beach Clubs on the opposite side of Crescent Lake. There are two foot bridges, one in the direction of the Swan/Dolphin hotels, and one in the direction of Epcot, allowing you to walk to this entertainment complex and hotel.
  • For all other locations, including Fort Wilderness , and resort hotels, buses to Disney Springs will allow you to connect with other transportation to your final destination. You can also take the monorail from the Future World side of Epcot to reach the TTC. Travel times vary widely here. You can time it just right and have a short, efficient trip, or have a trip lasting over  an hour. Hope for the best! Hint: When in a hurry, it usually takes only 5 minutes to get a taxi. Go to the valet station at the front of the Yacht Club and they will call a taxi for you. Trips to destinations on property range in cost from $16 to $24. For example, the typical taxi fare from the Yacht Club to the Grand Floridian costs about $20 (not including tip). It’s usually significantly cheaper to take a Rideshare such as an Uber or Lyft from the front of the Yacht Club to anywhere on property.

What are the rooms like?

Most rooms feature two queen-size beds, a table and chairs, color TV w/remote, a ceiling fan, double sinks in the dressing area, and refrigerator. Some rooms have a daybed that will accommodate the maximum 5 guests allowed per room at the Yacht Club. There are also pet friendly rooms. Of the 539 regular guest rooms at the Yacht Club, 483 rooms have queen-sized beds, 56 rooms have king-sized beds, and there are 10 disabled access rooms. Most rooms have a balcony that have a table and two chairs. Standard Rooms are for all guests, including Concierge Club. Deluxe rooms are larger and are only available on the Concierge level.

The rooms at the Yacht Club have been thoughtfully stocked with many extras. Rooms have a small safe, located in the closet, in which you can store your valuables such as jewelry, airline tickets, passports, travelers’ checks, etc. For bigger items, storage facilities may be available at the front desk.

Another nice feature is having the bathtub/toilet separated from the rest of the room. The double sinks are located outside the true “bathroom.” In the vanity area, you will find a hair dryer, as well as a make-up mirror mounted on the wall.

do all yacht club rooms have balconies

The Yacht Club does have a Club Level and club-level/service rooms. All Club Level rooms are located on the hotel’s 5th floor, which requires your Magic Band to gain entry from the elevator. There are 71 concierge suites and 20 “true” suites in a variety of sizes. See the Concierge page for more information about the concierge level.

Walt Disney World Resort has complimentary Wi-Fi service available in all of its hotels and parks. See our Internet Access page for details.

A room with a view, but which one?

There are three views available: The Standard view, the Garden or Woods view, and the Lagoon or pool view.

Standard view rooms overlook the garden, rooftop or parking areas around the hotel. Garden or Woods view rooms typically overlook the slightly nicer areas around the quiet pool, or even the wedding gazebo. Lagoon or pool view rooms have a direct view of Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk. Some of the Lagoon or Pool view rooms are located just above Stormalong Bay and may be a bit noisy during the day. Note also that not all Lagoon or Pool view rooms offer a direct view of the lake and the Boardwalk. Many are at right angles to the lake, making it often difficult or impossible to see the Boardwalk. If you should book a Lagoon or Pool view room, don’t be disappointed if you don’t have a direct view of the lake.

Can I Bring My Pet to Stay at the Yacht Club?

Walt Disney World has four hotels pet-friendly, one of which is Disney’s Yacht Club. Read our page on Pet-Friendly Hotel Rooms for more details.

Pets may also be boarded at the Best Friends Pet Care kennel across from Port Orleans Riverside.

Are there smoking and nonsmoking rooms?

All Disney resorts and guest rooms are smoke free . There are designated outdoor smoking areas. Check the resort map or with a Cast Member for locations.

What are the prices for a room?

The Yacht Club is considered a “Deluxe” resort hotel, and its prices are among the more expensive offered at Disney. These are regular rate prices and do not include the Florida Sales Tax nor the county resort tax. Most rooms have a maximum five-person occupancy per room. Prices are per room, and there is an additional adult charge of $25 per adult per night for more than two adults in a room.

Walt Disney World Resort rates vary by season (there are nine seasons now), and also by day of the week. The holiday season is the most expensive time of the year. It runs from mid-December to early January as well as during Easter Week.

The rates for a: — Standard View Room range from $443 – $762 — Garden or Woods View Room range from $484 – $787                                     — Lagoon or Pool View Room range from $561 – $851 — Club Level Standard View Room range from $661 – $1,052 — Club Level Garden View Room range from $676 – $1,075 — Club Level Pool or Lagoon View room range from $771 – $1,197 — Suites range from $1,863 – $3,071

Are there any discounts?

There are many ways to save a few dollars on your accommodations at WDW. Disney offers several resort “seasons” throughout the year including a Value Season. Annual Passholders can save by visiting during annual Passholder specials. Florida residents get a break for living in the same state as the Mouse. Don’t forget holidays are the most expensive time to visit, along with most of the summer. Generally, planning your trip during the off-season can save you money right off the bat.

Please visit our Discount Summary Page for more information.

I hear that there are no more room key cards at Disney resort hotels. How do I get into my room?

Walt Disney World has converted their room keys and admission tickets from plastic cards to MagicBands, flexible plastic wristbands, resembling a watch or bracelet, that use Radio Frequency (RF) technology. Your MagicBand is linked to your My Disney Experience (MDE) account and acts as your Disney resort room key. Simply touch the Mickey symbol on your MagicBand to the RFID reader near your room door to gain entry. Read about using MagicBands for park admission, FastPass+ and more.

I want to swim!

The Yacht Club has one of the best, if not the best swimming pools (at a hotel) in all of Walt Disney World. Stormalong Bay is a three-acre water playground shared between the Yacht Club and the Beach Club. It’s a great place to have fun or just relax. Stormalong Bay has many different sections that encompass its 750,000 gallons of water. There are shallow wading areas for the younger ones, complete with sand bottoms. There are also larger and deeper areas, some with sand, some without.

A “shipwreck” on the shore of Crescent Lake provides the entrance to an exciting water slide for the adventurous folks. There is a circular area in Stormalong Bay with water jets that create a current. All you have to do is float. the water will move you along! All around Stormalong Bay are lounge chairs where you can relax and catch some rays. Among other things, you’ll find a waterfall and a couple of hot tubs hidden amongst the scenery. Note, however, that life jackets cannot be worn when using the water slide. The water slide includes an enclosed tube and a child with a life jacket can get stuck. If your child requires the use of a life jacket, you can request to use the pool and slide at the Boardwalk Inn.

There is a quiet pool at the Yacht Club, found on the far end of the hotel away from the noise and excitement. The pool is located on the front/side of the hotel farthest from the Beach Club and closest to the Swan/Dolphin. There is also a hot tub in the same area as the quiet pool. These facilities are open 24 hours, as long as you are quiet! You can also use the quiet pool/hot tub on the Beach Club side of things. This pool is located on the back side of the Beach Club, closest to Epcot. You may see this area if you walk the path to Epcot. There is a third pool (and hot tub) located at the Beach Club Villas; guests of the Yacht Club are welcome to use it as well.

What other recreation is available at the Yacht Club?

Be sure to request the Recreational Activities flyer . There may be activities like Water Volleyball, Campfire Sing-along, or Movie Under the Stars.

I need to shop! OR — I forgot to pack something real important!

The Yacht Club’s all-purpose store is The Market at Ale and Compass.   This store offers a small but comprehensive collection of clothing, character merchandise, and sundries.

Need your clothes cleaned?

If you need to wash your clothes during your stay at the Yacht Club, laundry facilities are located adjacent to the quiet pool area located on the far front side of the hotel, closer to the Swan/Dolphin hotels. Likewise there are laundry facilities at the quiet pool of the Beach Club.

If you need something dry cleaned or pressed, you’ll find a card detailing services and costs in your room upon check-in. An iron and ironing board are located in most guest rooms. If your room does not have these items, they can be obtained free of charge by contacting housekeeping.

Babysitting, Childcare, Children’s Programs

There is no child care activity center at this resort. For child care alternatives, visit our Child Care FAQ.

Does the Yacht Club have a Convention Center?

Yes, the Yacht and Beach Clubs share a convention center that has 73,000 square feet of meeting and function space, that can accommodate both large and small events.

How do I use valet parking?

Simply drive your vehicle to the front of the resort and a Cast Member will park it for you. Valet parking is $33 per car for the day, even if you are staying at the Yacht Club. Don’t forget to tip the valet (both the one who takes your car and the one who brings it back to you – $1-2 is recommended) When you need to retrieve your vehicle, simply give the valet your slip of paper you were given when the car was parked, and your car will be delivered to the front of the hotel. When you are ready to get your car, call the valet stand from your room and ask for your car to be brought around. If you pay for valet at one Disney resort hotel, you can use valet at the other hotels – just tell them you are paying at the Yacht Club. The Disney resorts contract out valet services, so you are dealing with a 3rd party, not Disney employed cast members.

Does the Yacht Club have a Security Gate?

Yes, the Yacht Club complex has a guarded security gate. Upon initial arrival, simply explain to the guard you are checking in. Once you have checked in, your Magic Band will also serve to open the security gates (pull on the right side to activate the guest gate). Be sure to have your Magic Band ready when reentering through the security gate. During busy times ONLY Yacht Club resort guests may be allowed to enter the parking area.

Services offered include: hair and nail services, massages and facials. Appointments are strongly recommended, call (407) WDW-SPAS or (407) 939-7727 to book.

Are you a couple on a romantic getaway? Ask for a room overlooking the wedding gazebo (a garden view room). If you’re lucky, from your balcony you’ll be able to hear and see a magical Disney wedding take place. Quite a romantic/reminiscent experience.

Plunk a few quarters in the slots at Lafferty Place Arcade where you’ll find a selection of exciting video games.

Parking – – there is a lot where you park your car. It’s a long walk from your room to the car, unless you want to pay for valet parking.

Located in the Epcot Resort Area, Yacht Club isn’t just within walking distance of the Beach Club , but Epcot itself. There is a path that leads directly to the International Gateway. What’s better than that?

disney's yacht club resort

It’s definitely a pricier resort, but for good reason. Based on location, sharing several amenities with Beach Club, just a boat ride away from Hollywood Studios, access to the Skyliner at Epcot, and much more, Yacht Club has a lot to offer.

Plus, the New England-style resort sits on the water and truly is a gorgeous resort right on property. Here’s everything you need to know.

Guest Rooms and Bathrooms

Yacht Club offers a variety of rooms that can sleep up to 6 people, depending on the type of room you book.

Although parking at Disney World resort hotels used to cost a nightly fee for resort guests, Disney has changed their policy so that parking is now  free  for all on-site resort guests. This change was implemented on January 10, 2023.

Valet parking is also available for $33 per night.

Complimentary standard self-parking is available for non-resort guests exploring dining, shopping, entertainment, and other experiences during the day.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort VIP Top Tips

Yacht Club

While room requests are not guaranteed , at the Yacht Club ask to be closest to the lobby to limit the amount of walking needed to the pool area and transportation to the Theme Parks.

The Yacht Club has a beautiful wedding gazebo in its gardens. From the balconies of some of the Garden View and Water View rooms, you can overlook this area and glimpse a Disney wedding.

At Disney’s Yacht Club Resort , all rooms have a full balcony or patio.

Enjoy the close proximity to Epcot’s World Showcase . While there is a boat launch available at Epcot, you can get there faster by walking.

You can access Disney’s Hollywood Studios by boat. You may also enjoy a brisk walk around the BoardWalk down to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In general, you may find the boat ride shorter than walking to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

These resorts offer one of the best pools on Walt Disney World property. While separate, the Yacht & Beach Club Resorts share the pool area. There is a “shipwreck” that offers the entry point to the main water slide. Some areas of the pool have a sandy bottom.

These resort hotels are located near the BoardWalk, offering a short walk to additional restaurants and nightlife that do not require park admission.

Sometimes Disney’s bus transportation may share buses with the other resort hotels in the Epcot area around the BoardWalk. If you find yourself stopping at multiple stops, you may want to get off at the first stop and just walk the rest of the way. This is sometimes quicker than stopping at each resort hotel if the bus loop is being shared with multiple resorts.

Privacy Overview

Beach Club, Yacht Club and balconies

I’m planning a trip for our family of four at the end of August 2019. We have never stayed at Yacht Club or Beach Club. I’ve sold the kids on the pool and I like the convenience to Epcot and HS. So I go to look at my options, and see that all Yacht Club water views and garden views are booked for our dates. 11 months out.

I’m now looking at Beach Club, but I would really like a balcony. I like to be the first one up in the morning drinking my coffee and the last one to bed drinking my glass of wine all on the balcony as the World moves around me. It is my understanding that only a few Beach Club rooms have balconies. Is this right? Do they have an open window instead?

So looking at my options:

Option 1. Book a Beach Club water view. I’d love to be convinced by others that Beach Club is better anyway.

Option 2. Book a Yacht Club water view on the Club Level. Looks to be about $200 more a day. Honestly don’t think that will work. But maybe someone will tell me club level is worth every penny.

Option 3. Do option 1 or 2, but keep checking in to see if someone cancels and a water view room opens up at Yacht Club. 11 months out. There has to be some movement right?

Anyway, would love opinions and thoughts. Thanks! This will be our family’s 2nd trip to WDW. Our girl/boy twins were five years old then, and they’ll be nine on this trip. Already excited about it.

Have you ruled out a standard view?

When you visited before was it in August? We found that it was so hot in July we didn’t really want to have the slider open to enjoy our mini balcony at all after using it a fair amount on a trip in December. My conclusion became in the summer, it didn’t matter to us. YMMV obviously but even in the morning/night the humidity change is considerable that we didn’t use it…

Given that I’d just book BC and be happy. Great resort in a great location…

Good question. In my mind I had ruled out standard view, because I envisioned myself drinking my early morning coffee over a car-filled parking lot. I’d like some sort of a relaxing view. But maybe I’m being unfair. There are standard views still available at Yacht Club for our dates.

image

I cannot remember the room number but this was my standard view at the YC. I would use the TP room request. I have always been able to get a balcony at BC but it stressed me out worrying about if I will be able to get one.

i second this consideration. We had a balcony at Beach Club in June.

First, we had a “mini” balcony, not the big ones like on the second floor, and it was so close to other rooms and balconies that it lacked any real privacy.

Second, we were on the third floor, and there was no tree cover or shade. Based upon the direction of our room, our balcony was in direct sunlight from sunup to mid to late afternoon.

Third, it was about a million degrees with all the humidity.

THerefore, we spent 0 minutes on our balcony at the Beach Club.

Conversely, we had a split stay and a shaded large patio at the Poly which we used often. It was still pretty hot but the predominate shade made it tolerable. Still, we didn’t sit out there a ton.

Long story longer, an August stay may make having a balcony moot. Its your call however.

image

Thanks for the feedback! And the great photos of “standard” view rooms.

It was late August when we went last time, and it was very hot and humid. I still managed to use our balconies at Contemporary and AKL. But you’re right that is something to consider.

@PrincipalTinker As someone who has stayed at both Yacht Club and Beach Club. Are there reasons you prefer one over the other?

I do prefer YC but for personal reasons. First, I am very sensitive to CM comments and during my first stay, years ago, I was told there were “important guests so your room will not be ready until after 6:00”. Funny, I did return after that. I will admit I have “a thing” for balconies. I have not returned to BWI because I spent my first stay there in a room without a balcony. I will always pick YC based on balconies.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort

Disney’s Beach Club Resort sits in a prime location within walking distance of Epcot. When you visit the Beach Club (as well as other Epcot resorts), you’ll find a beautiful body of water called Crescent Lake that sits right in the middle of the hotels. Guests can walk all the way around the lake, which gives them access to numerous resorts and entertainment options.

Disney Boardwalk behind Crescent Lake

The northern side of the lake holds Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Beach Club Resort, and Beach Club Villas. The southern side of the lake is where you’ll find the Disney Boardwalk, the Boardwalk Inn, and the Boardwalk Villas. The western part of Crescent Lake holds the Swan and Dolphin resorts while the eastern side includes the short walkway to Epcot.

Restaurants

outdoor pool bar at Beach Club Resort

When staying at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, you have really easy access to the dining options at the nearby Disney Boardwalk, Swan Hotel, and Dolphin Hotel. Additionally, the Yacht Club and Beach Club are home to multiple restaurants that you can access without leaving resort property.

  • Cape May Cafe – offers a character meal breakfast buffet and sit-down dinner with no characters
  • Beach Club Marketplace – features to-go items and menu options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Beaches and Cream – available for lunch and dinner with reservations highly recommended
  • Martha’s Vineyard – offers appetizers and full bar
  • Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill – pool restaurant with full bar and lunch/dinner options
  • Ale and Compass – sit-down restaurant in the Yacht Club that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner (also available to-go)
  • The Market at Ale and Compass – quick service restaurant at Yacht Club with to-go items and menu options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Yachtsman Steakhouse – fine dining restaurant at the Yacht Club that is open for dinner
  • Crew’s Cup Lounge – bar at the Yacht Club that features a small dinner menu and full bar

Overall, we really enjoy the dining options at the Beach Club. Hurricane Hanna’s and the Beach Club Marketplace are super convenient when you need a quick bite to eat.

Ale and Compass offers a great menu for a sit-down meal, and Beaches and Cream is one of our absolute favorite spots on Disney property!

Transportation

Many first time visitors to WDW wonder if the Disney Beach Club is on the monorail. While this resort does offer multiple modes of transportation, the Beach Club does not sit on the monorail.

Skyliner at Disney Epcot

Instead, guests at Disney’s Beach Club Resort will find easy access to the Skyliner, buses, water taxes, and walking paths. Below, we will discuss the easiest ways to get from the Beach Club to other Disney parks:

  • To Magic Kingdom – You can access the Disney buses in front of the hotel. The ride to Magic Kingdom should take 15-20 minutes.
  • To Epcot – Exit the Beach Club toward Crescent Lake and turn left. Epcot sits just a five minute walk away!
  • To Hollywood Studios – You have several options for getting to Hollywood Studios. We find the quickest option *usually* is walking. Hollywood Studios sits just under a 20 minute walk from the Beach Club. You can also ride a Friendship Boat to Hollywood Studios. However, by the time you wait on the boat to make stops, this method can take longer than walking. You could also walk toward Epcot to catch the Disney Skyliner. With this method, you should be able to reach Hollywood Studios in just over twenty minutes.
  • To Animal Kingdom – You can hop on one of the Disney buses to get to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This is roughly a ten-minute ride.
  • To Disney’s Boardwalk – You can make the five-minute walk around Crescent Lake to easily reach the Disney Boardwalk.
  • To Disney Springs – You can take a bus to Disney Springs, which typically takes 15-20 minutes.

It’s important to note that you may have to wait up to 20 minutes for a Disney bus to pick you up at the resort. This is one of the reasons why Disney’s Beach Club is one of our favorite hotels on property.

Save at Disney Banner

Guests can skip the Disney buses altogether when traveling to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. And the ride to Animal Kingdom is super short once the bus arrives. The transportation options and ride times as a whole really can’t be beat!

Beach Club Rooms

Disney’s Beach Club Resort offers several different room types that you can choose from. If you are looking for a regular hotel room, you can choose between a room with a king bed or one with 2 queens. Some of these also include a daybed, which means that you can sleep up to 5 guests.

When booking a room at the Beach Club Resort, you have the option of a standard view, water view, deluxe room, or resort view room. Additionally, Disney’s Beach Club features club level rooms that allow you to access the exclusive club lounge. Here, you’ll find small bites and drinks during certain times of the day.

You can book a regular hotel room with club level access, or you can try to snag one of the Beach Club’s suites that includes club level perks. For additional information about the Beach Club rooms, we highly recommend checking out our Review of a Disney Beach Club Room . In that post, we provide photos from one of our stays at Disney’s Beach Club Resort along with information on how we watched the Epcot fireworks from our balcony.

Speaking of balconies, one of the main differences between Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and the Beach Club is the balcony space in the rooms. All of the rooms at the Yacht Club feature full sized balconies, while most of the Beach Club’s rooms offer standing-only Juliet style balconies.

While you can request a full sized balcony at the Beach Club, it may not always be granted. For more information on the differences between the two sister resorts, you can check out our post on Disney’s Yacht Club vs Beach Club .

22 Things to Do at Disney’s Beach Club Resort

lazy river and sand bottom pool at Disney Beach Club Resort

In addition to the superb location of Disney’s Beach Club Resort, we also love staying here due to the incredible activities and entertainment options that are available. You can find so many fun things to do besides the parks when staying at this Epcot hotel. Some of our top picks for best things to do at the Disney Beach Club Resort include:

  • Float through the Lazy River – The Beach Club’s main pool, Stormalong Bay, offers many fun features. One of our favorite things to do at the pool is to grab (free) tubes to float along the lazy river.
  • Enjoy a Character Meal – Check out Cape May Cafe during breakfast/brunch when it becomes Minnie’s Beach Bash. Guests can meet Goofy, Minnie, and Donald while they dine at the breakfast buffet.
  • Enjoy Ice Cream – Disney’s Beach Club is home to one of our favorite WDW restaurants, Beaches and Cream . While reservations can be difficult to snag at this popular dining spot, you can access the walk-up window to order shakes and ice cream to-go.
  • Watch the Epcot Fireworks – We recommend walking to the bridge that connects the Disney Boardwalk to the Beach Club Resort to enjoy the nightly Epcot fireworks show. You can even grab some ice cream to enjoy during the presentation.
  • Go Fishing – Book a fishing excursion on Crescent Lake for a truly unique experience while staying at Disney’s Beach Club Resort.
  • Ride the Skyliner – Since the Disney Skyliner sits just outside of Epcot’s International Gateway entrance, you can easily access it from the Beach Club Resort. Just take the short (less than five minutes) walk toward Epcot and hop on the Skyliner for free!
  • Ride the Water Taxi – The Disney water taxi picks up visitors near the Yacht Club. You can ride this free boat to the Disney Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin Resorts, Epcot entrance, and Hollywood Studios entrance.
  • Build Sandcastles – Did you know that Stormalong Bay features a shallow, sand bottom pool and beach area? Kids love digging in the sand and splashing around in this section of the pool.
  • Play at the Arcade – Lafferty Place Arcade offers lots of fun games for kids and adults to enjoy. This is a particularly great place to spend time at Disney when it’s raining.
  • Rent a Pontoon Boat – Spend time on Crescent Lake on your own private pontoon boat. Guests can rent boats from the marina near the Yacht Club.

pirate ship shaped water slide

  • Slide on the Waterslides – Stormalong Bay features two separate water slides for guests to enjoy. The main waterslide stretches from the pirate ship and across the Beach Club boardwalk to the main pool. You’ll also find a smaller slide that’s perfect for toddlers and small kids at the entrance to the main water slide.
  • Roast Marshmallows – Visit the nightly campfire to roast marshmallows during your visit. You can even purchase S’mores Kits for a few dollars.
  • Get in a Workout – Disney’s Beach Club offers a large fitness center for guests to use during their stay. Ship Shape Health Club is even open 24 hours a day, so you can squeeze in a workout at any time.
  • Hang at the Disney Boardwalk – The Disney Boardwalk is full of amazing activities and entertainment options and is just a short walk away from the Beach Club. You can read more about this fun spot in our post on the Best Things to Do at the Disney Boardwalk .
  • Play Mini Golf – Stroll over to Fantasia Gardens and Miniature Golf Course where you’ll find two 18-hole courses. This fun spot is located near the Dolphin and Swan Resorts.
  • Explore the Jogging Paths – If you’re not into running or jogging on vacation, you can spend time strolling along the jogging paths at the Beach Club. You’ll find lots of great spots to take pictures and may even catch some surprises along the way.
  • Play Beach Volleyball – As you walk along the boardwalk in front of the Beach Club, you’ll notice a sand volleyball court. This is a great spot to pick up a game with friends or family. You can also often join a game of volleyball at Stormalong Bay Pool.
  • Watch a Movie – Each evening, Disney Beach Club guests can watch a movie under the stars. These family friendly movies are a great way to unwind after a long day.
  • Attend a Pool Party – Each afternoon, Stormalong Bay hosts fun poolside activities like hula hoop competitions and limbo.
  • Play Tennis – Guests can find tennis courts near the Yacht Club’s quiet pool. While technically located at the sister hotel, the tennis courts are just a short walk away for Beach Club guests and are free to use.
  • Take a Fireworks Cruise – Take in the sights and sounds of the Epcot fireworks show from your pontoon boat on Crescent Lake.
  • Swim Laps – If you’re looking for a quieter poolside experience to swim laps or relax, check out the leisure pool at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. You’ll also have access to the quiet pools at Yacht Club and Beach Club Villas.

Disney Beach Club Resort Prices

Since Disney’s Beach Club Resort is classified as a deluxe hotel, it typically comes at a higher price than other value or moderate level resorts. While the Walt Disney World website states that the average cost of a room at Beach Club is over $800, we have never come across such high prices.

hotel lobby with large rug and seating

My family and I typically stay at the Beach Club for under $500 per night. Sometimes, this price is well under $500. If you are open to booking a room at Disney’s Beach Club Villas , you can often rent Disney Vacation Club points for a fraction of the regular room price. The Villas side of the resort offers access to the same amenities and dining options as the Beach Club Hotel. And the two buildings are just a short walk away from each other.

If you are curious about renting DVC points, we highly recommend checking out David’s Vacation Club Rentals. We have used this reputable website numerous times to stay at deluxe hotels at Disney World for the price of a moderate resort. You can check out the cost calculator on David’s website here, or you can read more about the company in our post on the best DVC rental sites .

Below, we wanted to include some of the most frequently asked questions about Disney’s Beach Club Resort. If you have a question to add to the list, feel free to comment below.

Yes, you can visit Disney’s Beach Club Resort without a reservation. However, you will not be permitted to park at the hotel unless you’re a registered guest or you have a reservation at one of the hotel’s restaurants. If you want to visit the Disney Beach Club without staying there, you’ll want to use the Disney transportation system (Skyliner, boat, bus) to reach the resort. It’s also important to note that visitors do not have permission to use the Stormalong Bay pool. Walt Disney World has a resort-wide rule that guests are only allowed to use the pool at the hotel in which they have a reservation. Stormalong Bay is particularly strict with this rule as guests must receive a special wristband in order to access the pool area.

Yes, Stormalong Bay includes a lazy river and tubes. You’ll also find life jackets available to use for free during your stay. The lazy river at the Disney Beach Club is quite deep in spots (8 ft), so it’s important to note that you can’t walk through it.

Disney’s Beach Club used to offer room service for guests. However, at the time this article was written, in-room dining had not returned to the Beach Club.

Yes, the Beach Club has a gym located near Stormalong Bay pool and the arcade.

Yes, Disney’s Beach Club Resort features a 24 hour laundry facility located near the Tidal Pool.

Yes, the rooms at Disney’s Beach Club feature mini refrigerators.

Is Disney Beach Club Worth the Money

Our overall review of the Disney Beach Club is that it’s one of the best deluxe resorts at Walt Disney World. While the price of the room may cost more than other nearby hotels, the amenities are absolutely amazing.

If you plan on spending time at the resort during your Disney vacation, Disney’s Beach Club is one of our top picks for hotels. The Stormalong Bay pool offers so many impressive features that are unmatched at any other Disney resort pool.

view of Disney's Beach Club Resort from the pool

Plus, the close proximity to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, the Disney Boardwalk, and the Skyliner make the Disney Beach Club totally worth the money. If you’re concerned about the price, don’t forget to check out the cost calculator at David’s Vacation Club Rentals to find a nearby room for a fraction of the price.

You’ll still get all the access to the amazing amenities at the hotel. We hope you have a magical time visiting Disney’s Beach Club Resort! What are your favorite things to do at Disney’s Beach Club Resort? Comment below to share with us!

7 types of cruise ship balcony cabins explained.

Balcony cabins offer a wonderful opportunity for enjoying views in privacy.

Imagine starting your day with a room service breakfast, watching the approach to a Caribbean island as the sun rises over the horizon from the privacy of your balcony. Or perhaps you prefer ending your day with a cocktail, as your cruise ship glides through the calm evening waters of the Norwegian fjords.

Such moments are part of the allure of booking a balcony cabin on a cruise vacation. Although balcony cabins are the most common type of stateroom sold on most modern cruise ships, there is substantial variation within the category.

If you’re comparing cruise ship cabins ahead of making a booking, it’s important to understand that not all balcony cabin grades are the same.

Regular Balcony Cabins

Glance up at the hotel-style exterior of most modern cruise liners and you’ll see mostly regular balcony cabins. They are located along the side of the vessel, generally on the decks between the main decks inside the ship and the pool deck(s) on top.

Most balcony cabins are a similar size to a regular inside or oceanview cabin but with the addition of a private outdoor space with a small table and chairs. Some larger balcony cabins may include a sofa or sofabed, and possibly sun loungers on the balcony.

They offer a good balance of privacy and views, allowing you to enjoy the scenery without leaving your room.

These are especially appealing in destinations such as Alaska and the Norwegian fjords, in which the scenery outside the ports of call is a major part of the experience.

Aft-Facing Balcony Cabins

Aft-facing balcony cabins are located at the back of the ship. These cabins provide expansive views of the ship’s wake and the sea stretching out behind you.

The balconies in these cabins are often larger than those of regular balcony cabins, giving you more space to relax. “Essentially, you may end up paying a similar price as someone who books a balcony on the side of the ship, but get much more living space on your private veranda,” said Matt Hochberg on Royal Caribbean Blog .

However, the motion at the aft can sometimes be more noticeable, which may affect those sensitive to seasickness . Depending on the ship, there may also be an issue with privacy if the balconies overlook an aft pool, although there should be less noise from outside the door as far fewer people will walk past.

Aft-facing balconies can offer a fantastic experience, but study the deck plan first to avoid nasty surprises.

Cruise blogger Ilana from Life Well Cruised said “the incredible view of the ship’s wake and the open ocean can be hypnotizing and even therapeutic” but that “you may hear and feel the vibration of the cruise ship” along with noise from any bars or pool areas.

She also warned that due to their popularity, the price can be higher than other balconies and they are among the first staterooms to sell out.

Forward-Facing Balcony Cabins

While balconies at the back of cruise ships are relatively common, balconies at the front are far less normal. Perhaps more than any other grade of balcony cabins, forward-facing rooms offer significant pros and cons.

View of the approach into Lisbon from a forward-facing balcony on P&O Britannia cruise ship.

P&O Cruises offers a handful of forward-facing balcony cabins on its flagship vessel Britannia. As with aft cabins, the balconies and rooms are more spacious than average.

Views can be sensational, essentially offering a captain’s eye view on progress through the ocean. Sail-ins and sailaways are also excellent times to use the balcony, especially on approach to bridges, narrow channels, or other landmarks.

However, strong winds while sailing mean it’s not always possible to open the balcony door due to air pressure, and using the balcony while at sea isn’t the most enjoyable experience.

That being said, if you’re booking a port-focused cruise in the summer sun, a forward-facing balcony could be a wonderful experience.

Outer Promenade Balcony Cabins

On ships with promenade decks, it’s become a trend in cruise ship design to offer balcony cabins that overlook the promenade. Depending on the ship, these can be at eye level, or slightly set back.

Outer promenade cabins don't offer much privacy but they offer other benefits including more space ... [+] inside.

As with obstructed view balconies, these tend to be cheaper, but they lack the privacy typically associated with a balcony cabin. Even so, they are a good value option to enjoy easy access to outdoor space without paying a hefty price.

Cruise YouTuber Emma Cruises spent a week in a ‘conservatory mini-suite’ on P&O’s Iona and commented that the lack of privacy may bother some. She recommended the grade for people cruising solo or anyone wanting to make new friends, as people walking along the promenade often stopped to chat.

Inner Promenade Balcony Cabins

On some of the world’s largest cruise ships, many balcony cabins overlook the ship’s interior promenade rather than the ocean.

On MSC World Europa , half of the ship’s main deck is outside, with almost 200 promenade balcony cabins along both sides of the outdoor portion leading to an open aft deck.

While they offer varying degrees of sea views, such balcony cabins provide a unique vantage point for people-watching and enjoying the ship’s entertainment and activities.

On MSC World Europa cruise ship, almost 200 balcony cabins overlook the inner promenade.

These cabins can be noisier due to their location but offer a different kind of cruise experience.

Obstructed View Balcony Cabins

Obstructed view balcony cabins are typically located where parts of the ship’s structure, such as lifeboats or equipment, block the view from the balcony. Often these are located on the lowest deck of balconies, with lifeboats blocking some of the view.

On some of the largest vessels, some balconies may be set back slightly from the edge of the vessel. In this case, the balconies offer an unobstructed view in front of the balcony, but have a narrower field of view.

While you compromise a little on the view, obstructed view balcony cabins are a more affordable option for those who want a balcony experience without paying a premium price. More often than not, the view is still impressive, but the degree of obstruction varies, so it’s worth checking specifics before booking.

Suites represent the top tier of cruise ship accommodations, offering spacious living areas, enhanced amenities, exclusive perks, and in most cases, significant outdoor space.

They come in various configurations, from junior suites to grand suites, each varying considerably in size and amenities.

The most lavish suites will include vast balcony space, often with sun loungers and hot tubs. However, they are often located at the front or back of the ship, so consider any potential issues with motion sickness or wind before committing to the expensive booking.

  • The Best Golf Clubs in…

In Russia, the western concept of building architecturally beautiful golf courses filled with modern and luxurious amenities has found fertile ground. What was considered a frivolous pastime during the time of the Soviets has become the latest trend for the stylish set. These days, there are countless options around Moscow to practice golf, polo, ski, yachting, and other sports alongside 5-star hotels, luxurious country houses, and magnificent villas.

The game of golf is a sport that requires passion and expertise. It is also part of a culture that considers this pastime a synonym of social prestige and exclusivity. In recent years, the new Russian elite has turned to golf as a vehicle of integration in the era of globalization. Golf courses are also meeting and socializing spaces where Muscovite tycoons can relax and also seal business deals.

Golf Courses in Russia

The Moscow Country Club, Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club, Tseleevo Golf & Polo Club, and Zavidovo Golf Club, PGA National Russia are some of the most exclusive and elegant golf courses in Russia. Some of them have made it to the list of Top 15 golf clubs in the world, a source of great prestige for the country.

The Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club is 18 miles from the heart of Moscow, close to historical monuments from the 17th and 18th centuries. Designed by famed architects Paul and Dave Thomas , this 18-hole course is part of a complex that includes a yacht club, an equestrian center, and a health and wellness facility. Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club is Russia’s version of a classic country club with multiple attractions.

This park is among the best in Eastern Europe and was awarded the 2014 World Golf Award as the best golf course in Russia. Located 25 miles from Moscow, it is part of a vast complex featuring an 18-hole golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus , a polo club and a mountain ski club with four tracks. Less than 60 miles from Moscow, this golf course with a definite Scottish design is the only one in Russia recognized as a PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association) from Britain and Ireland. Located in an ecologically pristine area on the banks of the Volga River, the Zavidovo Golf Club embodies the spirit and appearance of the legendary Scottish golf courses. Its many springs and streams, hills, forests, swamps and lakes justify its reputation as a very demanding circuit. Last year, it entered the exclusive club of the 15 best golf courses in the world.   ■
