Located on the southwest coast of Florida, just north of Naples, in the section of coastline known as the Lee Islands Coast, is Fort Myers and Cape Coral, along with Sanibel and Captiva Islands (barrier islands). Both Fort Myers and Cape Coral are on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River, a major Florida waterway that is part of the Okeechobee Waterway that crosses the Florida peninsula from Gulf of Mexico/Fort Myers in the west to the Atlantic Ocean/Stuart in the east, through Lake Okeechobee. There are 5 locks involved in the crossing, 3 are on the west side of Lake “O.” It is a more protected route for vessels cruising the Great Loop or just crossing to either coast, shaving about 165 NM from cruising outside and around the tip of Florida.

The Okeechobee Waterway is maintained by the US Army Corp of Engineers (USACE), who built the canals and locks for navigation across state. The Caloosahatchee River is the third leg of the Great Calusa Blueway of scenic waterways in the area, great for kayak and canoe excursions. The 67-mile river was used as a water highway by the Calusa Indians, from whom it was named, and early settlers in the area. Today the river’s wide end where it flows out into bays and the Gulf of Mexico is busy with industry, shipping and boating in stark contrast to its peaceful backwaters where it drains the northern Everglades. As with the Naples area, wealthy businessmen and celebrities took a shine to Fort Myers for its natural beauty and abundant waterways, along with infrastructure development in the late 1800’s and turn of the century. Inventors Thomas Edison and Henry Ford purchased land in 1916 and built estates in what is now downtown Fort Myers. Edison planted the stately Royal Palms that line scenic McGregor Blvd leading to the city’s most upscale riverfront neighborhoods. The Edison and Ford estates are now museums that have become Fort Myers most visited attraction.

The barrier islands of Sanibel and Captiva and Fort Myers Beach are known for their beautiful beaches and a prime destination for vacationers, including those from other areas of Florida. There are endless family-friendly attractions, restaurants, shopping and resorts, fishing, golf and many wonderful Nature Reserves and islands to explore, especially by water.

With so much waterfront, boaters can cruise up to any number of great restaurants in the area. In Cape Coral, on the north bank of the Caloosahatchee, is Fathoms at Cape Harbour, accessible from the river and Cape Harbour. Fathoms offers indoor and outdoor dining. Marker 92 Waterfront Bar & Bistro and the Nauti Mermaid Dockside Bar & Grill. Rumrunners, with indoor and outdoor dining, is also accessible from the Caloosahatchee and Cape Harbour.

In Fort Myers, the Lighthouse Restaurant (MM II in Jonathan Harbour, just past Connie Mack Island) features a full bar, indoor and outdoor dining dockside and a 160’ porch for watching spectacular sunsets and millionaire’s yachts. The Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa (MM II) features Charley’s Cabana Bar (tapas bar and dinner), the Tarpon House (American casual dining) and Courtside Steakhouse with full bar (upscale; reservations required). Fort Myers Beach has a vast selection of eateries; here are several for boaters—Bayfront Bistro above the Snook Bight Yacht Club; Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille with a great view of Estero Bay; Original Shrimp Dock Bar & Grill; Flippers On The Bay at Lovers Key Beach Club & Resort, located just east of Big Carlos Pass, is great place for coconut shrimp; Matanzas Harborside Restaurant, dockage while dining is free; Nervous Nellie’s is casual dining with a vast menu from which to choose; Parrot Key Caribbean Grill, Marker 24 near Matanzas Pass Bridge, seafood and raw bar; Pink Shell Beach Resort and Marina, Marker 11 with onsite Bongo’s Bar & Grill that is poolside serving casual fare and seafood.

North Fort Myers on the north bank of the Caloosahatchee, is the Three Fishermen, located northwest of the Caloosahatchee Bridge with possible the best riverfront view in Lee County, is an open-air seafood place. On Sanibel, cruise up to Gramma Dots at Sanibel Marina and on Captiva, there’s The Green Flash at GICW Marker 38 (a green light flashes at sunset) for seafood and steak; Old Captiva House is also at Marker 38 faces the Gulf of Mexico.

Some of the area Marinas to consider are Sweetwater Landing Marina; Port Sanibel Marina, located nest to Connie Mack Island, features onsite Lighthouse restaurant and a mile-long Nature Boardwalk, has 95 stationary docks with finger piers and tie-off pilings; Fort Myers Yacht Basin; Legacy Harbour Marina; Semmer’s Docks; Moss Marine in Fort Myers Beach; Pink Shell Resort & Marina in Fort Myers Beach (Bongo’s Bar & Grill). This is by no means a comprehensive list; there are many marina facilities with varying vessel accommodations and of course, private membership yacht clubs—some with reciprocity.

“Daddy's Lady” is a one of a kind, beautiful 84' Lazzara Skylounge Motor Yacht. Refit in 2019 and maintained at very high standards, Daddy's Lady looks brand new. She was a semi-custom build by Lazzara with many custom features not seen on other Lazzara Yachts.  An unmatched master stateroom including his and her private heads, jacuzzi, separate walk-in shower, and two large walk in closets, and significant linen and toiletry storage for comfortable journeys. Daddy's Lady has three additional guest staterooms, each with ensuite baths, a day head on the main level, and 2 crew quarters with separate full bathroom. The layout of Daddy's Lady is great for entertaining and long cruising. She is fast,  runs comfortably, and her layout has no steps on the main level unlike other ships of her size.

Her enclosed, air conditioned pilot house has a raised dinette for owner or crew use and she has a large covered aft deck, dinning, and entertainment area.

“Daddy's Lady” current owners purchased the vessel in 2017. Though the vessel was in superb condition they had desires to bring her to todays technology. After nearly two years of cruising, “Daddy's Lady” underwent a complete refit of all of her ship systems, helm, fly bridge, and bow by quality craftsmen at Lauderdale Marine Center.

• New Dometic Air Conditioning system including compressors, air handlers and control displays
• Removal of ISIS ship monitoring and installing Poseidon system NEMA2000
• All new AV equipment throughout the vessel
• All new CAT engine monitoring displays
• All navigation equipment including (4) Garmin glass monitors in custom Nav Pod, new Simrad autopilot, new Simrad monitor for Poseidon ship monitoring, new in dash back up Garmin plotter, 16 remotely accessible cameras around the vessel including engine room and bilge areas, new cell Wi-Fi as well as KVH Sat Wi-Fi
• All new exterior teak decks
• All exterior window caulking removed and replaced
• Additional exterior Summit refrigeration on aft deck and bridge
• (2) Laundries- Electrolux stacked washer dryer units
• Custom built-in bridge L-shaped settee under hard top
• Custom built-in server bar under bridge hard top with refrigeration and grill
• Additional air conditioner for covered bridge deck settee
• Custom bow built-in seating, sun lounge, and table
• Custom bow sunshade
• Custom bridge deck sunshade (aft deck of bridge)
• Rebuild hydraulic platform and increase capacity to 2500 lbs
• CAT aftercooler replacement 2017 & removed, cleaned, pressure tested 2020 @ 1697 hrs
• All engine, generator, hydraulic, air-conditioning raw water, hoses replaced aboard the vessel
• All wall headliners replaced in 2019
• All exterior soft goods replaced
• Additionally, “Daddy's Lady” was completely painted just before her current owners purchased the vessel
• Daddy's Lady is maintained on the Vessel Vanguard tracking system to ensure all proper maintenance is preformed

LOWER AFT DECK

FLYBRIDGE & PILOTHOUSE

The climate controlled pilot house can be accessed via pocketing sliding glass doors from the aft deck of the bridge and through an internal stair-case from the vessel galley. The pilot house is fully enclosed with raised observation dinette on port side with table. When the vessel was refit by her current owner the entire dash with navigation electronics was removed and re-designed with a modern nav-pod for (4) Garmin glass navigation monitors as well as the in-dash electronics were also removed and replaced with new LCD equipment. Daddy's Lady has a large under hardtop entertainment area covering an L-shaped comfortable couch with large dining table for 8-10 guest. Also under the hardtop is a large undercover custom built-in server on the starboard side including Kenyon stainless steel electric grill, Summit (3) drawer stainless steel refrigerator, Summit (2) drawer stainless steel freezer, under the counter storage, and starboard side wet bar with Summit stainless steel ice maker. Additionally, the covered aft deck is airconditioned with air directed towards the dinette and seating. Aft of the covered deck is owner desired seating under open sky or custom sunshades. The aft deck is enclosed by a combination of custom stainless and glass, and stainless line rails with no break in the visuals of the water while ensuring child and pet safety. The port sidewall of the flybridge contains a fully-integrated, aesthetically pleasing crane for tender and other provisioning lifts.

BOW SEATING

The bow seating was completely rebuilt from the original sunpad arrangement. A couch and table configuration as well as sunpad makes the bow a favorite spot for all. Additionally, there is a sunshade to cover the sunpad and seating area.

The salon is accessed via sliding glass doors on the aft deck of the vessel. Once you enter the salon your greeted with large windows providing an abundance of light into the salon. There are modern, adjustable neck rest style couches port and starboard of the salon as you enter. Starboard and aft is a large built-in TV cabinet with 50" TV. Forward of the salon is a large walk behind bar with barstools for 3. In addition to wine refrigeration, the bar has beverage and additional galley refrigeration.  At the factory during the original build the formal dinning area was fitted with a walk behind bar for entertaining or for a great work space. The current owners enjoy the bar as their traveling office space, with panoramic views. 

COUNTRY KITCHEN, REFRIGERATION AND PROVISION STORAGE

Lazzara built one of the best country kitchen galleys in the marine industry and the 84 was not to be beat. With bow facing, panoramic views, the galley is a favorite location. The galley includes a large dinette seating area forward with seating for 8-10. All of the large appliances are Kitchen Aid, stainless steel, and household sized. They include double door refrigerator/freezer, oven, cooktop, microwave convection oven, and dishwasher. In addition there is a Summit 2 drawer freezer. A large pantry, under bow storage, and day head in the galley. Daddy's Lady has great storage and refrigeration/freezer space on board to make long journeys easy. 

OWNER & GUEST CABINS

The Owner/VIP and guest cabins are accessed through two separate stair cases. One is in the salon that leads to the owners cabin and VIP guest cabin. At the bottom of the stair case is a large foyer landing with wood flooring and art niche. Also in the foyer is a stacked Electrolux stainless steel washer/dryer and separate linen closet. Aft of the foyer is a double door entry into the master cabin. The master cabin is full beam with king sized bed. There are built-in dressers port and starboard of the bed, large walk-in closet to starboard, built-in 50" TV forward of the bed, and entry into the master bath suite to port. The master bath was custom from Lazzara at the factory which includes his and hers private heads, separate jacuzzi tub and walk in shower. There are also two separate vanities and an additional walk-in closet in the bath. The size of this bath is not surpassed by anything in the 100'-150' class.

Located forward of the owners cabin, the VIP features walk around queen bed, hull side window, hanging closet, dresser and drawers, and private head with walk-in shower and wall hung TV.

Bow VIP is accessed via stair case forward of galley. Stateroom features queen bed, hanging closet, large dresser with drawers, private bath with separate shower. In the guest foyer is a 2nd stacked Electrolux stainless steel washer/dryer for guest use. The hall closet houses the central vac.

Crew features two staterooms with private head and separate shower. Crew is accessed via transom door and has access into engine room as well. Captains cabin had over sized birth that can accommodate two, large hanging closet, dresser drawers, microwave, and built-in TV. Crew cabin with single birth, large hanging closet and built-in TV. Crew refrigerator is shared with aft deck pull out drawer refrigerator. 

ENGINE ROOM

Engine room is accessed through the transom and crew quarters. The room contains the majority of the ships systems. This allows for the majority of service to be preformed in this area sparing the rest of the vessel from service traffic. The room is in new condition and is painted in high gloss white. Additionally the engine room has a dedicated air conditioner for climate control.  Climate controlled with dedicated air conditioning unit  Twin C-30 Cats with 1900 hrs, all services up to date New risers and exhaust blankets Twin Onan gens w/3100 hrs each Watermaker Two air compressors for redundancy Two Headhunter Mach 5 fresh water pumps for redundancy  Two raw water a/c pumps with manifold for redundancy

About On The Dock Yacht Sales

Yacht broker and founder.

Ted grew up in beautiful Lake City Minnesota.  From a young age being on the water was an addiction that steered most of his decisions.  After high school he set out to become a fisheries biologist and attended school at the University of Minnesota Duluth mainly because he could stare at Lake Superior while struggling through homework!

In 2000 his boy hood friend Aaron Bang had enough of an especially unbearable Minnesota winter and decided to move to Fort Myers with Jon Market whom had started a yacht management and detailing business in Gulf Harbour Marina which was called Marine Concierge.  Seeing as Ted was always up for a good adventure Aaron asked him to ride with on the move to FL.  Upon arrival he discovered that Jon had a lot of work lined up so he agreed to lend him a hand for a couple of days and the rest is history.  Ted continued out the winter season in Fort Myers and returned to Lake City in the spring and started building up customers for detailing and management.

This business was originally named “Riverside Yacht Works” but on a lost bet to Aaron he changed the name to “Shiny McShine”!  Shiny McShine become a large detailing company in Lake City, Wabasha and Red Wing.  In the fall of the year Ted would contract with the Lake City Marina to work the haul out season with the Marina crew hauling, blocking and setting boats.  For the next couple of winters he would travel back to Fort Myers to help Aaron and Jon out in their busy season.  Aaron eventually took a position working with Brandon Flaherty in his company, Image Charters and Yacht Sales (ICYS).  Brandon had built a great business being the go to guy for bigger yachts in Fort Myers.

In 2006 Ted took a position in ICYS to establish a location in Minnesota for the summers and then attend all of the winter season boat shows in Florida.  This was a great learning experience for him which eventually lead him to sell Shiney McShine and take a full time position with ICYS in Fort Myers.  Ted, his wife Molly and their two daughters made the jump to Fort Myers in 2010.  In addition to yacht brokerage Ted was also involved in the charter program at ICYS.  He got his 100 ton masters captain license and would run charters in SW FL, the Keys, East Coast of FL and the Bahamas.

In 2014 Ted decided to start up his own brokerage business so that he could be more active in the Minnesota boat sales market in addition to what he was doing in Fort Myers.  He and Molly created “On The Dock Yacht Sales”.  The plan with this was to recruit guys that he knew in the industry who already had their own unique skill set and customer base and develop a team approach to boat sales which would allow for on the job learning while still doing proper and professional sales.  On The Dock grew to be a solid operation with 8 other brokers in addition to Ted.

An opportunity arose in late 2019 to combine his operation with Apollo Yachts.  After much thought and discussion, Ted and the crew opted to Join with Apollo as they offered up some strong advantages that allowed them to build upon their already very successful platform.

On The Dock Yacht Sales

On The Dock Yacht Sales was created in 2014 to develop a yacht brokerage company that met some certain needs that are often overlooked.  We set out to hire marine professionals to become sales professionals versus turning sales professionals into marine professionals.  Our entire crew consists of people that came up through the ranks of working on yachts.  This created a platform of integrity based individuals who are no strangers to “rolling up their sleeves” to go above and beyond.   Our sales process has worked out very well and because of this we are very happy to say that we have had very good success in doing what we do.  On The Docks’s primary locations are in Fort Myers, FL and Lake City, MN.  Fort Myers office has a good presence in Naples as well as Fort Lauderdale.  Our Lake City guys deal with boats on both the Mississippi and St Croix Rivers in towns of Red Wing, Stillwater, Bayport as well as Prescott and Hudson WI.

In January 2020 we combined our efforts with a new and up and coming Yacht Sales company called Apollo Yachts.  Apollo was created in the shadows of its parent company Apollo Jets.  Apollo Jets is a private luxury jet company that excels at taking care of their customers to a level not seen in the rest of the jet industry.  Apollo Yachts strives to follow in this model of luxury service.  Apollo yachts is very active in brokerage as well as yacht charter.  By joining with Apollo we add our Minnesota and South West Florida locations in with their existing locations in Boston, Atlanta area and their main office located on Brickell Ave in Miami.  Upon our joining we opened up a South West Florida office on 5th Avenue in Naples.  For more info on Apollo Yachts go to  www.apolooyachts.com  and Apollo Jets at  www.apollojets.com
