ROBERT ‘ROBBIE’ SARGENT Originally from Zimbabwe, Robbie was brought up on a farm with a love for the outdoors, sport and a keen sense for adventure. His hobbies also include golf and darts but his favorite from a young age was and always has been fishing, whether it’s fresh water or deep sea. After school, he moved to South Africa to play professional rugby, but it was not long before he decided on it being an unlikely permanent career choice. He turned towards scuba diving instead, despite the cold waters of Cape Town and worked his way up to becoming an instructor. After a few years of this, Robbie grew keen to search for warmer water to dive in and accepted a job in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. The travel bug set in, Captain’s ticket in hand and many nautical miles later, there is nothing that Robbie loves more than finding new places to have fun in, both above and under the water. Working throughout studying within restaurants and catering, it gave her an opportunity to build up experience in hospitality, develop professionalism within the service industry but most of all appreciate different cuisines. After graduating from University of Cape Town, South Africa with a Social Science degree, Sofia realized she wasn’t motivated towards a formal office setting and sought after a career in which she could combine her love of travel with learning new skills. Discovering the world of yachting she has since worked in the Mediterranean, Australia, Indonesia, Florida and the Caribbean. Being able to explore new places and gain a passion for cooking along the way has been a dream realized. Robbie and Sofie met in Singapore, soon found common ground of similar roots and have been working together within the industry since then for the last 5 years. Their combined passion for food, travel and most of all the ocean has brought them together to love what they do. They have been lucky enough to get to know some extraordinary, remote locations around the world but also appreciate being able to share time with family and friends in their home country, Zimbabwe. As a team, they love being able to entertain, share stories and meet new people to learn theirs. Kirsten, a native of South Africa, grew up enjoying the pleasant climate and taking part in various outdoor activities, such as photography, swimming, and showjumping. She excelled in golf and earned several titles and a place on provincial teams before scuba diving captured her imagination during her first dive in the ocean. She attended the University of Johannesburg where her studies in Industrial Design deepened her appreciation of the ocean ecosystem and sparked a passion for developing projects to address ocean conservation. As her interest in photography shifted to the underwater world, she found herself drawn to a non-traditional career and pursued full-time work in diving and sailing. She honed her skills in Tuna fishing and spearfishing while working for a fishing charter company in Cape Town. Today, her love for the ocean and marine life remains one of her greatest passions.

C'EST LA VIE is a Sixty 7 Lagoon power catamaran with a 32 ft beam making her astonishingly spacious.

Aboard C’EST LA VIE, there are so many seating and sunning options with multiple sun beds and loungers. Guests can always find a private space to relax or enjoy the party together. The master cabin occupies much of the starboard hull and features a queen-sized, walk around bed, seating area and, a private door to the aft deck.  The ensuite bathroom has dual sinks, a large separate shower, and a vanity. The three other guest cabins are ensuite with queen beds.

Ride high up on the flybridge for sea breezes and unobstructed views. It is perfectly designed for a group of friends, or a family getaway. There’s a seating and sunning area with a folding-leaf dining table to starboard, an outdoor kitchen and bar, and generous sun pads. CAPTAIN ROBBIE & CHEF/MATE SOFIA

Originally from Zimbabwe, Robbie (right) was brought up on a farm with a love for the outdoors, sports, and a keen sense of adventure. His hobbies also include golf and darts but his favorite from a young age was and always has been fishing, whether it’s the freshwater or deep sea. After school, he moved to South Africa to play professional rugby, but it was not long before he decided on it being an unlikely permanent career choice. He turned towards scuba diving instead, despite the cold waters of Cape Town, and worked his way up to becoming an instructor. After a few years of this, Robbie grew keen to search for warmer water to dive in and accepted a job in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. The travel bug set in, Captain’s ticket in hand, and many nautical miles later, there is nothing that Robbie loves more than finding new places to have fun in, both above and under the water.

Born and raised in the landlocked country of Zimbabwe, Sofia’s love for water originated whilst growing up as a national swimmer and water polo player. Working throughout studying within restaurants and catering, gave her an opportunity to build up experience in hospitality, develop professionalism within the service industry and most of all appreciate different cuisines. After graduating from the University of Cape Town, South Africa with a Social Science degree, Sofia realized she wasn’t motivated toward a formal office setting and sought a career in which she could combine her love of travel with learning new skills. Discovering the world of yachting she has since worked in the Mediterranean, Australia, Indonesia, Florida, and the Caribbean. Being able to explore new places and gain a passion for cooking along the way has been a dream realized.

Robbie and Sofie met in Singapore, soon found a common ground of similar roots, and have been working together within the industry since then for the last 5 years. Their combined passion for food, travel and most of all the ocean has brought them together to love what they do. They have been lucky enough to get to know some extraordinary, remote locations around the world but also appreciate being able to share time with family and friends in their home country, Zimbabwe.

As a team, they love being able to entertain, share stories and meet new people to learn theirs. Robbie and Sofie are keen on keeping charters light-hearted while making it a priority to go above and beyond so that their guests always have the adventure to remember.

STEWARDESS/DIVE INSTRUCTOR KIRSTEN

Kirsten, a native of South Africa, grew up enjoying the pleasant climate and taking part in various outdoor activities, such as photography, swimming, and showjumping. She excelled in golf and earned several titles and a place on provincial teams before scuba diving captured her imagination during her first dive into the ocean. She attended the University of Johannesburg where her studies in Industrial Design deepened her appreciation of the ocean ecosystem and sparked a passion for developing projects to address ocean conservation. As her interest in photography shifted to the underwater world, she found herself drawn to a non-traditional career and pursued full-time work in diving and sailing. She honed her skills in Tuna fishing and spearfishing while working for a fishing charter company in Cape Town. Today, her love for the ocean and marine life remains one of her greatest passions.

Thank you for a wonderful week that exceeded all expectations. We knew we would see many beautiful locations, do some fun snorkeling and paddle boarding, and enjoy being pampered, but you three made this trip all that and more. From story time to the meals, to the drinks and beyond-everything was spectacular. Add to that our first SCUBA experience and a host of other great opportunities, and it makes us want to do it all over again right now!

Happy New Year!!! You three are an amazing team that exceeded so many of our expectations for this trip. We came as two families but are leaving as a family with 3 new additions (you guys). Together we started our days off, ate together, played together, explored together, relaxed together, joked and played music together, watched sunrises and sunsets, and re-generated our "batteries" so we could head home to work and think about how to get right back to the islands. You each bring so much life, adventure, and top-notch service to create a special environment for us. This is certainly a trip we will NEVER forget. If you are ever in the states near Washington D.C. please look us up... we'd be so happy to treat you to some of what makes our home special.

My oh my, what a wonderful world it is with you on C'est la Vie! We've created fantastic memories this week thanks to you and all of your above-and-beyond efforts. The itinerary was a perfect mix of adventure (cave snorkeling, baths, hiking) and relaxation (beach picnic, dinner on shore, sunset happy hours). All had fun with the water toys as well. Captain, who knew you were a tour guide, boat captain, housekeeper, and bee vanquisher-haha. We cannot wait to come back!

Truth be told, I am at a loss for words with thoughts on our C’est La Vie experience. When people have inquired, I’ve simply said “THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME.” First, thank you so much for your professionalism and first class assistance with preparation for the trip. Your accessibility, response time and guidance was so appreciated. I have already recommended Carefree Charters to two other parties who are strongly considering a BVI Yacht trip. Second, the boat - wow! Exceeded our expectations. The pictures really don’t do it justice. The room accommodations were more spacious with higher quality fixtures, bedding, lighting, A/C, electricity, storage than expected. Very very nice! The availability of comfy deck seating and water sport toys was awesome. Organization, cleanliness and attention to detail was top notch. Third, the crew - not even sure where to begin…. Robbie and Sofie went above and beyond to make our vacation super special. It was obvious that they had read and digested our preference form, and made sure the food, beverages, schedule were tailored to our party. Story time with Robbie, drink of the day prepped/served by Hannah, and the five-star meals made and served by Sofie were cherished daily delights. This beautiful 2020 Lagoon 46 has 4 cabins, 4 electric heads, generator and air conditioning, and is loaded with plenty of other exciting features.

Lagoon Yachts is the market leader when it comes to cruising catamarans and their new 46 is no exception. The Lagoon 46 is replacing their classic Lagoon 450 model. While the 450 may be a tough act to follow, with a larger sail plan and updated design, the 46 looks poised to take top place in the hearts of charter users .

ACCOMODATIONS

In the salon wraparound windows allow in light, making the space seem huge, L shaped couches and a pouf leave room for everyone. The Cockpit is almost a continuation of the salon thanks to windows and doors that slide open wide. The cockpit has a couch, a foldout portside table with adjustable banquette seating and a lounging area starboard. A “J” shaped galley next to the cooking station in the aft cockpit means that serving is fast and easy and everything that you need is close at hand.

The cabins aboard the 46 are all comfortable, with large island beds, excellent natural light and ventilation and en suite facilities with large showers. All cabins get lots of natural light and air through hatches and large hull windows with opening portholes. An air conditioned bow cabin is an added bonus for groups with kids or singles.

Moving around the 46 is as easy as it is to get her sailing. The centrally placed flybridge helm station has access points both from the aft cockpit and from the starboard deck. Visibility is excellent and the deck layout, with winches and locks that are all close at hand, is perfect for carefree, uncomplicated sail handling. Even the windlass can be controlled remotely from the flybridge.

The flybridge also has large sun pads aft of the helm seat meaning that helming won’t necessarily be a lonely experience. The helm is shaded by a bimini top and there are even thoughtful touches like drinks holders close at hand.

There are just three wide and easy to use steps that lead down from the aft cockpit to the water. Conventional davits secure the dinghy while underway.

I have been navigating the US waters for nearly 15 years beginning in San Francisco bay where I purchased my first vessel, a 24 foot Bayliner, “The Marmallee I” named after my late sister Marmallee. I quickly outgrew this and acquired a 34 foot Rinker which I named The Marmallee II since I didn’t even have my first vessel for a year!

In addition to myself, all charters are Captained by a licensed USCG Captain and navigate completely under USCG regulations. The Ferretti Group, one of the world top companies specializing in the design, building and sale of motor yachts, with an amazing portfolio of eight of the most exclusive and prominent brands, is thrilled to announce its participation in the Moscow Boat Show 2013. From 12 to 17 March, two of the Group fleet’s most successful yachts will be presented as absolute premieres for the Russian market: motor yacht Ferretti 530, representing Ferretti Yachts , and the 27-foot Iseo superyacht tender by Riva .

This year’s Moscow Boat Show will also offer the Ferretti Group the opportunity to announce all yachting enthusiasts in Russia and Northern Eurasia a new important achievement in its international growth: the renewal of its exclusive dealership agreement for the Russian Federation with its partner Premium Yachts , one of the leading dealers operating in the boating sector in Russia , which will represent the Ferretti Yachts , Pershing , Itama , Bertram , Riva e Mochi Craft and Ferretti Custom Line brands.

The agreement – which was officially announced today during a press conference attended, among others, by Ferruccio Rossi (Ferretti Group’s CEO), Alexey Kurochkin (Premium Yachts’s President), and Stefano Campanelli (Sales Manager for the EMEA area for Ferretti Yachts, Pershing, Itama, Bertram, Riva, Mochi Craft and Ferretti Custom Line) – is part of Ferretti Group’s strategy for a further expansion on the European markets offering the best short/medium-term growth perspectives, also thanks to the financial soundness regained following the strategic partnership forged with the Weichai Group.

More specifically, the Russian boating market holds a great potential for the Ferretti Group’s development because of the rapid growth of average wealth among the population and an increasing interest for Made in Italy luxury goods, like Ferretti Group yachts.

Through the renewal of the agreement with Premium Yachts, the Group will further strengthen its highly selected distribution network – which currently includes approximately 60 dealers ensuring the best possible customer care in more than 80 countries worldwide – as well as its presence in the traditional EMEA ( Europe , Middle East , Africa ) area, one of the three macro-regions (besides the America and the Asia-Pacific) into which the Group’s sales structure is divided.

Moreover, in a medium/long-term perspective, the Ferretti Group is expecting an increasing interest on the Russian market not only for flying bridge yachts above 70’ in length, but also towards smaller crafts, both flybridge and open/coupé ones, which are particularly suitable for river cruising or pleasure boating in Russia’s large lakes. Consequently, the renewal of the dealership agreement with Premium Yachts also allows to look ahead at the future aiming to conquer new market segments where less competitors are currently present in terms of both products and geographic location.

The press conference, which was held today at the Lotte Hotel in Moscow, had also the objective of introducing attending journalists and yachting enthusiasts to the main new products launched by the Ferretti Group over the last few months, namely: motor yacht Ferretti 870 , Ferretti 690 yacht , and the project of the new flagship Ferretti 960 superyacht for the Ferretti Yachts brand; luxury yacht Pershing 82 ’ and superyacht Pershing 108’ New Edition for Pershing; Riva 63’ Virtus and the project of the new Riva flagship, 122’ Mythos yacht , as well as the entire range of the Itama, Bertram and Mochi Craft brands.

The yachts launched over the last few months by CRN – the Group’s brand specialising in the construction of steel and aluminium yachts between 40 and 90 metres – were also presented during the conference: the two superyachts: CRN superyacht Jade (60 metres long) and CRN mega yacht Chopi Chopi (80 metres long), the latter being one of the largest pleasure vessels ever built in Italy and the largest one ever built by the Ancona-based shipyard.

“The renewal of our dealership agreement with an important partner like Premium Yachts – which has worked on the Russian market for almost 10 years and can boast an outstanding product knowledge and an excellent local market penetration – and the presentation of the Group’s latest models are an integral part of our development strategy on the EMEA markets offering the best growth perspectives in the short-medium term,” stated Ferruccio Rossi, Ferretti Group’s CEO. “The Moscow Boat Show 2013, which has now reached its sixth edition, will extend over approximately 45,000 square metres this year and will be attended by more than 350 international boating companies. This Show represents an interesting business opportunity for us and an unmissable event in terms of visibility, since we are identifying a considerable growth potential in this area thanks to the timeless attractiveness of our products – true ambassadors of Made in Italy production all over the world”.
