The Yacht Heist  is a stealth-only one-day heist for  PAYDAY 2  released with the  John Wick Heists Pack  in  Update #131 .

  • 1 Objectives
  • 2 Walkthrough
  • 4 Variations
  • 5 The FBI Files

Objectives [ ]

  • Hack the laptop.
  • Secure money bundles.
  • Hack the server room open.
  • Gain access to the server room.
  • Overheat the servers.
  • Use override switches.
  • Steal the hard drive.
  • Secure additional loot or escape.

Walkthrough [ ]

The crew starts below deck right next to the server room, which cannot be accessed until near the end of the heist. Players must make their way around the yacht to find an indicated laptop located in a few specific spots on either decks. Hacking the laptop will yield the colored tag marking where the money is stashed (though this clue will also be seen next to the laptop) and the four locations where the money is stashed.

The stashes can be located in any of the four levels of the yacht, which the laptop will specify which deck and what location they are stashed in including food carts, lifeboat storage, private rooms, cigar/wine collections, aquariums or book shelves. At this point, it is recommended that the crew split up to search each deck individually to speed up the process. Caution should be taken as each deck can have multiple guards patrolling the same area, however their patrol routes are fixed and thus easily maneuvered. Civilians may also be present in certain locations prompting players to either avoid passing through or to tie/kill them. There are also artifacts and paintings to be secured should players wish to earn a little extra pay. Loot and body bags can be thrown out the windows off the yacht to be secured or to be disposed.

Once all stashes all secured, Bain will prompt the crew to return to hack the laptop to grant them access to the server room (20 seconds) located below deck to steal the hard drive. The server room can be entered either from the starting point or near the kitchen. Once inside, the crew needs to shut off four machines which feed the servers coolant. The path needed to reach the coolant pumps is randomized and sometimes requires maneuvering a maze of lasers. Shutting all four coolant pumps, the crew will then need to press four manual override switches in order to open the hard drive storage. Each override switch has a delay before needing to press the next, during which players should avoid the guards patrolling the room as their paths navigate around the switches. On lower difficulties there is only one guard patrolling this area and on even the highest difficulty, there will only be two. The crawlspaces will have active lasers, thus players must be careful and time when they can move through them.

Upon pressing all four override switches, the players can then take the hard drive stored in a glass case near the switches and escape through the doors leading back to the spawn point.

Strategy [ ]

  • Loot is secured by throwing it anywhere into the ocean. On some decks, there are windows that can be opened for loot to be thrown out of. The same applies for body bags that need to be disposed of.
  • The guards will not change their patrol routes when you open up doors.
  • Take note that ECMs will prevent the override switches from being used, hence the final sequence cannot be ECM rushed.
  • Unlike the other stealth heists, there are no hostile security cameras present regardless of difficulty. Therefore, the only threats are the numerous patrolling guards around the yacht.

Variations [ ]

  • The laptop the crew needs to hack can be located on any of the four levels, with some being harder to reach than others due to the number of guards needed to bypass.
  • The openings underneath the catwalks where the server cooling towers are may vary, which in some cases may split the valves into several separate areas and/or forcing the player(s) to maneuver past several alarm lasers. At other times the openings will just sit open and be accessible from the stair landing without the player having to sneak their way past any laser at all.

The FBI Files [ ]

Attendees at a fundraiser party for Washington mayor McKendrick aboard a yacht in New York Harbor reported a suspicious-looking smaller boat approaching the yacht for a few moments and then leaving.

My Notes:  Probably nothing. But keeping an eye on this one given the Washington connection and the Payday Gang's recent antics in New York.

A player experiencing lag or other desync issues interacting with one of the searchable locations can cause it to glitch and not activate, thus rendering the loot inside irretrievable and the mission unable to be completed by failing to meet the quota.

  • The Yacht Heist is the fourth stealth-only heist in the game after  Shadow Raid ,  Car Shop , and  Murky Station , or fifth, should one count  Flash Drive . It is also the first DLC stealth-only heist.
  • The tags on the openable containers you find have a QR Code on them. When scanned, it translates to "Shazan Box Enterprise" and the number next to the ID is a hexidecimal which when decoded comes out to spell out "Fishy business".
  • All the tags say 'subrosa' on them. This is probably derived from the Latin phrase meaning 'under the rose' and used to denote secrecy.
  • Rather curiously, several internal files referencing the heist had existed since the game launched, and similar strings could be found by unpacking the asset packages for  PAYDAY: The Heist  as well. This hints at the possibility of a similar heist being cut from the first game, before having its assets recycled into this final iteration.

All Free and DLC Heists in Payday 2

Image of Marc Magrini

The story of Payday 2 might be complete, but there are still plenty of reasons to check the game out. Even with the existence of its successor , this classic crime-focused shooter is packed to the brim with content. But trying to dive in as a new player can be fairly daunting with the massive amount of DLC. Those starting their time in Payday 2 should learn about all free and DLC heists in the game — and which ones might be more important than the rest.

All Free Heists Available in Payday 2

There are a number of heists available to anyone who owns Payday 2, with many of them having been added through free updates. Keep in mind that the PC version has access to more heists than console versions , so you might be out of luck if you want to get the game’s full picture on PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch. As such, this article will only cover all heists available to PC players, including the ones that still require a DLC purchase.

Here are the most basic free heists in the game:

  • Flash Drive and Get the Coke — Tutorial heists for new players to get used to stealth and loud gameplay, respectively.
  • Bank Heist — The simplest Payday 2 heist in which players drill open a vault for cash.
  • Jewelry Store — Another simple heist that involves smashing display cases and stealing jewelry.
  • Diamond Store — A variation of Jewelry Store with a bigger building and higher stakes.
  • GO Bank — A more difficult bank heist with multiple objectives. The map for this heist is based off of a locale for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
  • Car Shop — A stealth-only heist that has players stealing and driving highly valuable cars.
  • Watchdogs — A two-day, loud-only heist where players survive ambushes from cops while smuggling cocaine.
  • Firestarter — A three-day heist that has players raiding a cartel’s weapons hangar, sneaking into FBI offices, and breaking into a bank to set fire to its money.
  • Rats — A three-day heist where players must cook meth, collect information, and clear a bus of rival cartel members.
  • Big Oil — A two-day heist where players must kill bikers to find information before breaking into a house and stealing a fusion reactor.
  • Framing Frame — A three-day heist where players steal paintings, trade the stolen paintings for money, and break into a house to plant coke and steal valuables.
  • Mallcrasher — A “heist” where players must destroy $50,000 worth of valuables in a mall. This is technically a loud-only heist, but it can be performed stealthily.
  • Four Stores — A simple heist where players must steal a combined total of $15,000 from four stores found on the same street.
  • Ukrainian Job — A more direct variation of Jewelry Store that must be completed by stealing a tiara from the back of the store.
  • Nightclub — A heist where players sneak into a Nightclub and steal valuables from a safe within.
  • Shadow Raid — A stealth-only heist where players must raid a PMC compound and steal valuables.
  • Cook Off and Art Gallery — Single-day variations of Rats and Framing Frame, respectively.
  • Meltdown — A loud-only heist where players must steal nukes from the compound found in Shadow Raid.
  • Aftershock — A loud-only heist where players must recover safes from a van after an earthquake.
  • Murky Station and Boiling Point — Stealth-only and loud-only heists, respectively. Players must steal an EMP in the former and raid a secret lab in Russia in the latter. These are crossover heists promoting the Hardcore Henry movie from 2015.
  • Santa’s Workshop, Stealing Xmas, and White Xmas — Christmas-based, loud-only heists that usually involve securing multiple bags of drugs for huge payouts.
  • Safe House Nightmare, Prison Nightmare, and Cursed Kill Room — Halloween-based, loud-only heists where players must survive waves of foes in nightmarish conditions while securing loot.
  • Safe House Raid — A special “heist” where players must defend their safe house from waves of cops.

There are also classic heists returning from the first Payday, with all but two available for free. These include:

  • First World Bank — A redo of the Payday gang’s very first score. This heist contains a secret involving Mayan gold, which ends up being vital to the overarching Payday 2 story.
  • Panic Room — A loud-only heist building off of the DLC-exclusive Biker Heist involving players breaking into an apartment building and stealing an entire panic room from it.
  • Slaughterhouse — A loud-only heist where players attack an armored car to steal gold.
  • Diamond Heist — A heist where players break into a massive building to steal valuable diamonds. There’s a chance for an extra-valuable red diamond to spawn in this heist.

There are more classic heists, but they’re led up to by story-important heists that cover the game’s mysteries and stranger plot points. The free story-important heists are:

  • Hoxton Breakout — A two-day heist where the Payday gang rescues an old friend before helping him raid the FBI offices to find out who framed him.
  • Hoxton Revenge — A follow-up to Hoxton Breakout where players raid a safe house to assassinate someone who’s been setting up the Payday gang.
  • Heat Street — Another classic loud-only heist. Players must track down an accomplice of an organization making moves against the Payday gang. This is the first free heist involving Locke, a contractor introduced in the Point Break DLC heists.
  • Green Bridge — Yet another classic loud-only heist. Players must escort a prisoner across a destroyed bridge. This heist focuses on information about the DLC heister Jiro and his missing son, Kento.
  • Alaskan Deal — A loud-only heist involving Locke and another DLC contractor, the Butcher. Players must defend themselves against a police raid before escaping via boat.
  • Reservoir Dogs — A two-day, loud-only heist. Players must survive multiple attempts on their life orchestrated by the police. This heist is done starting with day 2 rather than day 1. Starting here, nearly all heists following this one are narrated by Locke rather than Bain.
  • Brooklyn Bank — A loud-only bank heist where players must recover a special item outside of the normal valuables they usually take.
  • Breakin’ Feds — A stealth-only heist where players must sneak through the FBI headquarters and recover a special item found within.
  • Henry’s Rock — A loud-only heist where players must steal valuable items from the Murkywater PMC.
  • Shacklethorne Auction — A heist focused around a special auction holding a valuable item. This item must be found to help solve a massive secret about the Payday world.
  • Hell’s Island — A loud-only heist allowing players to rescue an important character from a Murkywater prison.
  • No Mercy — Another classic heist, though it comes with options for stealth despite being loud-only. Players must recover blood samples from a hospital while fending off cops. This is a crossover heist with references to the Left 4 Dead franchise.
  • The White House — The final major story heist where players steal pardons from the White House itself. After completing certain prerequisite challenges, they can instead take on a massive secret objective that leads them to the game’s true ending.

Many of these heists can be completed whenever the player wishes, though Payday 2’s career mode does attempt to consolidate them into a more reasonable order. Career mode also requires completion of certain DLC heists, but these can be completed for free by joining other players’ lobbies.

All DLC Heists and Which Ones are the Most Important

The DLC heists of Payday 2 all have some form of importance, whether through direct story relations or prerequisites for the true ending. Players should mostly be fine if they simply get the Legacy Collection bundle , as practically every heist in that bundle relates to the true ending in some way. These are all the heists included in that bundle:

  • Transport and Transport: Train Heist — A collection of heists that has players hitting armored cars and eventually a massive train holding a special weapon. The Transport heists are loud-only but the Train heist is not. The Train heist also contains notable references to Team Fortress 2.
  • The Big Bank — A heist that introduces the Dentist contractor, an extremely important character in Payday 2’s story. Players must steal valuables from a massive bank with impressive security measures.
  • Hotline Miami — A two-day, loud-only crossover heist based on the game Hotline Miami. Players must kill a gang of mobsters and eventually assassinate a Russian criminal known as The Commissar.
  • The Diamond — A heist where players must steal a mythical diamond from a museum.
  • Golden Grin Casino — A heist where players must break into a casino and steal a strange artifact for the Dentist.
  • The Bomb — A pair of heists where players must steal a valuable bomb for a new contractor known as the Butcher. The “Forest” variation is notably loud-only.
  • The Alesso Heist — A promotional heist featuring musical artist Alesso. Players must time C4 explosions to the music of a nearby concert so they can successfully steal valuable loot.
  • Goat Simulator — A two-day, loud-only crossover heist based on the game Goat Simulator. Players must transport and defend goats that have cocaine hidden inside them.
  • Beneath the Mountain and Birth of Sky — Loud-only crossover heists based on the Point Break movie. These heists introduce the contractor Locke. In the former heist, players must steal loot from a secret Murkywater base. In the latter heist, players are tasked with skydiving out of a Murkywater plane along with massive pallets of cash.
  • Counterfeit and Undercover — Classic, loud-only heists available as part of the Wolf Pack DLC. Players must get their hands on a money printer in the former and hack into the IRS with the help of a corrupt employee in the latter.
  • The Biker Heist — A two-day, loud-only heist. Players must recover the bike of a new allied heister before breaking into a train and stealing sensitive, high-tech equipment.
  • Scarface Mansion — A crossover heist based on the Scarface movie. Players must break into an iconic mansion and kill a mob boss.
  • Brooklyn 10-10 and The Yacht Heist — Crossover heists based on the John Wick movies. The former heist is loud-only while the latter is stealth-only. In Brooklyn 10-10, players must defend an ally from a rival gang. In The Yacht Heist, players must steal equipment and valuables from a politician’s fundraiser occurring on a yacht.

These are all of the major story-related DLC heists in Payday 2. However, a few more DLC heists were added after these, taking place around or during the final few story heists such as Hell’s Island. Many of these heists also include non-liner objectives, letting players complete their missions in more varied ways. These are all of the “bonus” heists introduced as DLC in Payday 2:

  • Border Crossing and Border Crystals — A pair of heists kicking off the “Silk Road” storyline. These heists involve players disrupting Mexican cartel operations by stealing valuables and cooking meth. Border Crystals is a loud-only heist.
  • San Martín Bank — A heist where players must break into a Mexican bank to steal valuable treasures from the aforementioned cartel.
  • Breakfast in Tijuana — A heist where players must rescue a prisoner from a police station in Tijuana.
  • Buluc’s Mansion — A heist where players must assassinate the head of the Mexican cartel.
  • Dragon Heist — A heist that kicks off the “City of Gold” storyline. Players must infiltrate Chinatown in San Francisco to steal a valuable jade dragon statue from the Golden Dagger Triad.
  • Ukrainian Prisoner — A heist where the Golden Dagger Triad seeks vengeance after the Dragon Heist, kidnapping a familiar character and forcing players to help him escape.
  • Black Cat — A heist where players must raid a casino ship owned by the aforementioned triad.
  • Mountain Master — A heist where players must kill an important member of the Triad while also securing valuables.
  • Midland Ranch — The first of the final four heists from Payday 2’s updates and DLC. Players must secure equipment and weapons from a special farm in Texas.
  • Lost in Transit — A heist where players must raid an army-controlled train yard to steal special printing plates.
  • Hostile Takeover — A heist where players must raid a corporate lab to steal research and destroy equipment.
  • Crude Awakening — The final heist added to Payday 2. Players must raid an oil rig in a job involving theft, assassination, and destruction, ending with the crew blowing the entire rig to pieces.

These are all of the heists that have been added to Payday 2. If you don’t want to drown in the game’s massive selection of DLC while still getting a better idea of its story, consider getting your hands on heists involving the Dentist, the Butcher, and Locke . These are the best heists if you want to keep full track of the game’s story without worrying too much about crossover content.

23. PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition John Wick Heists

The achievements in this DLC are notoriously buggy, please refer to the hints and tips page for 2 types of workaround to make sure they unlock properly. For most, I would recommend the online workaround, but for the Pass the Ammo achievement, you need to do the online one.

Brooklyn 10-10

So this heist will most likely need 2 and a half runs to finish. The playthroughs will be as follows:

  • Deathwish run - Just take your time and be careful. This is a dangerous heist as it's all very close quarters and a fair few dozers spawn from my own experience.
  • Pass the Ammo run - You will need 4 people all with the upgrades to carry 2 ammo bags. Once you get to the 2nd building, you need to drill or saw open the ammo cage and place all 8 ammo bags in there, then finish the heist to unlock:

Brooklyn 10-10 - Finish the heist after placing 8 ammo bags in the ammo cage on OVK or above.

Pass the Ammo

  • Reach Charon in 6 minutes run - This one it is recommended to be in co-op, as well as have one person bring a saw or C4 to get through the 2nd building objectives as fast as possible. As soon as you get down the lift and reach him, if it was in under 6 minutes, you will unlock:

Brooklyn 10-10 - Reach Charon within 6 minutes on OVK or above.

A Rendezvous with Destiny

Assets: Ammo Bag, Doctor Bag and Grenade Case

Solo/Co-op: You start off in a derelict apartment building. Cross over the scaffolding to reach the offices and look out of the window to find Charon. There will be highlighted gangsters that will show up in this alley. Reaching the window also alerts the police, so have 1 person concentrate on the outside and everyone else protect them. Onslaughts of police will come for you and Charon will start to pick a lock outside. Take enemies out as soon as they are highlighted to speed up this process.

Eventually, police cars will pull up and you will need to take them out too so Charon can proceed. After multiple waves, he will get through and you will need to get upstairs. Pick the lock here, where you will either open the door or partway through, a dozer will kick it down. Either run past him or take him down. On the roof, you have two choices, jump across to the next roof and drop into the next building, or drop down to the ledge below and enter via the windows.

In this room, there are 2 cages. One will contain ammo and a crowbar and the other will contain a briefcase and some loot such as weapon and money bags. There is also an extra crowbar hidden in this apartment, so I recommend only trying to get into the one cage, to save protecting 2 drills. Whilst that is going, you also need to take out highlighted gangsters that will pop up in the windows across the street and try to snipe you and Charon.

Once they are cleared and you have the briefcase and crowbar, Charon will direct you to meet up with him. Get upstairs and use the crowbar to open the elevator shaft door and go down it to meet Charon. All you have to do now is get to the marked escape point and hold out until the escape arrives. This is easier said than done, as there is most likely a SWAT van on Deathwish sitting in the first area, and you will be assaulted by multiple tasers and dozers during the holdout. Once the heist is complete, you will unlock:

Brooklyn 10-10 - Finish the heist on DW or above.

Vengeful Rain

All that is left is to go on Overkill and get the other 2 achievements mentioned above. Reaching Charon in 6 minutes will take some attempts, and a larger group will be best to get through this faster. Of course, also bringing C4/a saw will speed it up immensely, as you can get straight into the cages to get the crowbar and briefcase.

The Yacht Heist

So I will start by saying, this heist is annoying, but not all that hard. Most of the objectives in this heist are in randomised locations, making it harder to pinpoint everything for you, so the descriptions will be a bit vague at points. This is going to be split up into 2 runs:

  • Deathwish no kills run - This will get you used to the map and where some of the objectives spawn by the time you finish the run, so you will be more prepared for the next. There's also a nice little glitch that will help make the final room a bit easier.
  • Overkill under 6 minutes run - This is why this heist is annoying. 6 minutes isn't that much time in the grand scheme of things. I highly recommend doing this in co-op so you have more than just you running around throwing all of the money bags overboard. Try to save at least 2 pagers for the final room, as you want to kill the 2 guards in there to make the process a bit faster.

Assets: None (we're trying not to kill anyone after all)

Solo/Co-op: The first objective you will have is to reach the marked laptop. This can be in a variety of locations, from the lower deck to the nearer end of upper deck level 1 to the far end of upper deck level 1. Next to the laptop is a coloured sticker. Take note of this colour, as all of the money bags will be inside cupboards/closets etc. with a sticker of this colour on. Next, the laptop screen will flash. 4 different locations on the boat will flash, these indicate what the money bags are stored in (2 per place). Lower Deck is obvious, the Main Deck is where you started, Upper Deck Level 1 is the one with rooms 101-104 on it for reference and Upper Deck Level 2 is the one with the bookshelves on it.

Make note of the 4 locations (this is why co-op is recommended for the speedrun, as someone can go straight to at least UDL1 to prepare for anything there or on L2) and try to find those objects. It's hard to explain everything, so I will explain some of the less obvious ones. The lifeboats are the white oval-shaped containers dotted around the Main Deck and the Wine and Cigar area is at the far end of UDL1, the rest should be pretty self-explanatory in terms of being able to spot the objects/places.

When you find a money bag, all you need to do is throw it overboard, so out of a window, off the side of the deck. Anything works. You also don't need to close windows, so feel free to open whichever is nearest to you. Once you have thrown all 8 bags overboard, you will need to interact with the laptop again and make your way to the Lower Deck. On the opposite side from where the fridge room is, is the door to the security room. Once the unlocking procedure is finished, the door will open. There are 2 guards in here to avoid, who patrol the upper deck. They can also see you through the grated floor , so be careful.

Underneath the floor, there are 4 valves that you need to turn, there are also passages (some have lasers in them) between each of these, meaning you don't have to go back upstairs to access them all. Once all of these have been turned, you need to press 4 buttons on the columns themselves in a randomised sequence then grab a hard drive. There is a cool little glitch though, you can actually press the buttons from underneath, and also grab the hard drive from underneath the room too. This means you don't need to risk going by the 2 guards to get the hard drive and can get upstairs and back to where you started to escape, unlocking:

Yacht Heist - Finish the heist on DW or above.

Great White

if you finished on Deathwish, as well as:

Yacht Heist - Finish the heist without killing anyone.

Pacifish

if you didn't kill anyone.

All that is left now, is to do it in under 6 minutes on Overkill. Again, I highly recommend doing this in co-op to speed up the part before getting into the security room. It also helps as you can take a guard each in the security room so you can freely roam it, shaving off some seconds at least. When you finish it in under 6 minutes, you will unlock:

Yacht Heist - Finish the heist within 6 minutes on OVK or above.

Diamond Heist (Payday 2)

  • Edit source
  • View history

Diamond Heist is the remastered version of the same level from PAYDAY: The Heist . The crew must break into the Garnet building skyscraper, with the intent of robbing Garnet's vault of its valuable jewels.

  • 2 Objectives
  • 4 Walkthrough
  • 6 Variations
  • 7 Differences from PAYDAY: The Heist
  • 8 Mayhem+ Changes
  • 9 Lost Tapes
  • 10 The FBI Files
  • 11 Achievements

Overview [ ]

Objectives [ ].

  • Make your way to the router boxes, and hack them (150 seconds) [If loud, you will have to defend these
  • Find the three color codes for the Vault on separate laptops. (The codes follow the same pattern as the one in Golden Grin, down to the Red, Green, and Blue color pattern.)
  • Find Ralph and either kill him or tie him up for his keycard, which will be needed to put the code in.
  • If the router boxes have not been hacked yet, find sapphires around the building. They are all in the same location, but two new ones near the vault doors. (optional)
  • When the hack is finished, make your way to the vault, put the keycard in, and insert the code. (You need to crouch under the pin and point at the # you need) Do NOT input the wrong code, or the alarm will sound. Unlike Golden Grin, however, Bain will not repeat the code to you.
  • If you did it right, congratulations! You have now made it inside the vault, which is filled to the brim with diamonds (and on at least Overkill difficulty, the Red Diamond. (OVK = 10% chance of spawn, MAYHEM+ = 20% chance of spawn.))
  • Secure the required number of bags.
  • Secure more jewels, or escape.

Walkthrough [ ]

The three steps for unlocking the vault can be finished in any order:

  • Look around for the two router boxes, start their hacks, and wait for them to finish.
  • Look for three laptops and interact with them to get the three pieces of the code.
  • Look for Ralph Garnet and tie him down or shoot him to get his keycard.

Once all three have been done, go down to the vault door, swipe Ralph's keycard, and input the code in the correct order.

Use the glass cutter to open the display cases, as breaking them will sound the alarm.

Find the two router boxes and start their hacks, and protect them from law enforcers. While waiting for them to finish, look for Ralph Garnet and tie him down or kill him to get his keycard.

As the regular code for the vault cannot be used now, the crew has to find the CFO and push him to the helipad on the roof, and wait for Bain to pick him up to get the vault's master code out of him.

After a short interrogation, Bain throws him out of the helicopter and onto the fountain in the atrium. He then provides the code, and the crew can now access the vault.

After bagging the diamonds in the center, they have to be secured by setting up a zipline and sending them to the roof of a building in the distance.

Strategy [ ]

  • If the routers, laptops, Ralph Garnet, and the CFO aren't found within a certain amount of time, they'll be marked automatically (the routers and laptops will be marked one-by-one).
  • While the three-digit code's design and input is similar to that of the vault/armory code in Golden Grin Casino , unlike when at the casino vault keypad, Bain will not recite the code when at the vault keypad in stealth. Write down the code numbers and colors in the chat or on paper.
  • When moving bags in stealth, if the patrols and cameras make going to the starting point too risky, the bags can instead be secured by throwing them to the window cleaning platform from the rooftop (if possible).

Variations [ ]

  • The room where the players start (and subsequently, where they escape in stealth).
  • The locations of the camera room and the CFO's room.
  • The router box and laptop locations and the numbers of the code.
  • The red diamond room has a 10% chance of spawning on Overkill, and a 20% chance of spawning on Mayhem and above.
  • The location on the roof where the players light the flare to escape in loud.
  • There is a 10% chance after hacking your first laptop the party will end.

Differences from PAYDAY: The Heist [ ]

  • The chandelier in the dome of the atrium has been replaced with a fountain at the bottom.
  • The helicopter pad opposite of the vault has been converted into a garden.
  • The buildings in the skybox and their logos have been changed.
  • There is a window cleaning platform where the players start, this is used to secure bags and escape in stealth.
  • Instead of the crew, Bain will say on my mark in the intro
  • The elevator shaft furthest from the party can be entered, and inside is a ladder that can be used for moving between the two floors.
  • The security/router boxes are not highlighted when the heist starts.
  • Only 2 security/router boxes have to be hacked, and they have a 2.5-minute hacking time in both stealth and loud.
  • Instead of having the code when the heist starts, 3 laptops have to be interacted with in stealth to get the code. These laptops are useless in loud.
  • The CFO will always be required to open the vault in loud, will be found in a closet similar to Ralph Garnet in the original, will have the code on him instead of being used to negotiate with Mr. Garnet, and will always be killed.
  • Instead of being the backup-backup plan in loud, finding and tying down/killing Ralph Garnet is a requirement in both stealth and loud to get his vault keycard. He can be found wandering around the building.
  • The vault does not have a timelock in loud.
  • Instead of pushing a button to enter and setting the glass cutter on the red diamond's case and waiting for it to cut through, the red diamond room's door has to be drilled open and the red diamond's case can be opened like a typical display case. Additionally, the red diamond's case can be broken open, instead of closing permanently if damaged.
  • The cameras are on, but can be disabled by pacifying the camera operator.
  • Guard patrols can now be killed without the alarm going off provided the player isn't caught in the act and the subsequent pager is answered. Also, they are normal guards, using the suit and sunglasses variant, not the red-shirted GenSec variant as the original did.
  • The sapphires are acquired by using the glass cutters on their display cases, rather than opening them and waiting for them to surface.
  • There are two additional sapphires located in the atrium area, opposite of the vault doors.
  • Breaking windows does not automatically raise the alarm, but breaking display cases still does.

Mayhem+ Changes [ ]

  • All cameras are of the Titan variant.
  • The chance of the red diamond room spawning is increased (from 10% on Overkill to 20% on Mayhem+).
  • Increased chance of turret spawn (from 50% on Overkill to 70% on Mayhem+).

Lost Tapes [ ]

Lost Tape 2

As a part of update #238.3 , Lost Tape #3 was added to the map. Two keycards are required to open the safe, which rewards the player with Lost Tape #3. Players should note that one keycard can spawn in an inaccessible area, though a workaround exists.

Lost Tapes 3 Keycard 6 this is stupid

The keycard can be grabbed from this spot.

Note: The lower office where the sixth keycard spawns can be inaccessible if Ralph or the CFO does not initially spawn inside the office. The keycard can still be obtained if the player faces the wall behind the office, as the interaction area for the keycard extends slightly past the wall. If you can not find the last keycard, it is most likely hidden in this spot.

The FBI Files [ ]

The Garnet Building is one of the most prominent business centers in the DC area and the crown jewel in CEO Mr. Nathan Garnet’s business empire. Long rumored among high society (and criminals) in Washington to house Garnet’s personal fortune reserve of diamonds, the building has been a viable target for gangs like Payday to hit, and as recent events have shown, those suspicions were founded on very solid ground. Since it was hit, Garnet stock has plummeted, and speculations have arisen as to whether the Garnet Group can survive without reconstruction. At the time of writing this entry, the secretive Mr. Garnet has not made any personal (or public) announcements regarding the incident.

My Notes: This goes to prove that the Payday gang is still, for all intents and purposes, a bunch of simple thieves, motivated by a bottomless greed. For all their notoriety, craftiness and skill, they’re just two-bit criminals at heart and that will be their downfall. The fact that they took the bait on this is perfectly in line with how we will eventually to stop them. The timing of this hit is a bit odd, though. There’s something “off” about the Garnet Group in all of this, but I just can’t put my finger on it yet.

Achievements [ ]

  • Achievements
  • In order to unlock this achievement, simply go loud at any point before opening the vault, play up to the CFO being dropped into the atrium, and pick up the money bundle next to his corpse.
  • If the camera operator is killed with a shotgun or other knockback weapons during stealth, their body can fall between the desk and wall mounted monitors, if the body lands in this position, you will not be able to respond to their pager and stealth will fail.
  • If securing the bags by throwing them from the rooftop, it is possible for bags to clip through the short wall, but not fall down. If that happens, they will be unable to be retrieved and the heist will be impossible to complete.
  • This time the crew steals the diamonds not only for personal gain but also with intentions to cut off Locke 's finances following the events of Alaskan Deal . As shown in the original Diamond Heist, Garnet Group was (and still is) a Murkywater -affiliated corporation with particularly strong ties to Locke himself, as noted by Bain on the Day 9 announcement site.
  • In a break of pattern, the soundtrack for the original Diamond Heist was remixed for use in The Diamond . Thus, a remix of I Will Give You My All was used instead. The party still uses the songs from the orginal version however.
  • Unlike other heists with a security room, the door to it is a normal Metal door, able to be lockpicked instead. The same applies to the First World Bank.
