I have had several family members reside in the Babylon Beach House... They seem to do a lot more, for the residents... Excellent assisted-living...
Unfortunately, the way people perceive things sometimes results in painting an unfair and inaccurate picture. People may perceive things the way they want to and that is their prerogative but it should not be allowed to place a stain on a place that I know conducts itself with the utmost respect and professionalism. In the next couple of paragraphs I'll explain what the Babylon Beach House and it's employees truly represent. I do not work for the Babylon Beach House but I lived in Babylon for 27 years and the Beach House has been a prominent name in the community for it's standards in elder care ever since I can remember. Living in Babylon, I have have known many people that have had their Parents/Grandparents live at the Beach House and there has been NOTHING but rave reviews from them. Not only of the facility itself and how clean and comfortable it is, but the people that work there on a daily basis truly care about each and every resident. The staff works very hard to keep everyone happy, healthy and engaged. They do a great job in hiring young people as well to "hangout" with the residents to keep the residents moving not only physically, but mentally and it pays dividends in their overall health. To finish my review, I'd like to point out a a few key things that everyone usually thinks of and checks off when they have to make the tough decision on which assisted living facility, nursing home, hospital is right for the person they care so much about: Is it clean? Is the staff friendly? If it was me, would I be comfortable here? Luckily enough for people that choose the Babylon Beach House, all of those boxes are always checked.
When a family is looking for long term care arrangements for their loved ones it can be very stressful, especially because you want to select the right home for your elders. In our case, we had a 87 year old Aunt who had Usher Syndrome (she went blind and deaf gradually since retiring) and our Uncle who had Cerebral Palsy. We interviewed many places, both larger and smaller facilities. Because our Aunt and Uncle were brother and sister many of the facilities would not allow them to remain together. The Babylon Beach House understood our situation and realized that if we separate our Aunt from her brother, her life-line, it would be devastating. Even though Mr. Lockwood's decision to keep them together was more out of love and compassion, many of the larger facilities could have done so as well, since our request also falls under the ADA, thus, a reasonable accommodation. The BBH is a wonderful facility with wonderful activities. They eve allow family members to visit during meal time and share a meal with our loved ones. The recreation and activities are abundant. My favorite was listening to the brass musicians overlooking the sound -- that is living on Long Island at it's best, and, Happy Hour on Friday evenings. My Aunt and Uncle thrived at this facility. Because of the excellent care, both my Aunt and Uncle passed away in this facility without having to go into a nursing home. While they were not able to live in their original home of 39 years, they lived in a beautiful home overlooking the Captree for their remaining years. The only area of improvement, I would say this facility needs, and that is only my suggestion, is just to add additional staff for the weekend. They may have already done so, since both our Aunt and Uncle passed. Other than that, the care is excellent. The Lockwood's hearts are in the right places. And, with Alice as their Administrator, your family member will be in very good care. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us for reference. Maria T.
Last month,I convinced my mother to stay at this "so called" assisted living home thinking that it would help her regain her strength and her needs ,both medically and physically ,and that she would have a safe, warm, friendly, compassionate place to stay for a month or so , before she was able to come back to her home. This, unfortunately was not the case. In fact ,just the opposite happenned! My mom was only there for a weekend, and that Sunday wound up in the hospital taken by ambulance due to the unprofessional ,incompetent treatment she received . Words cannot describe the inhuman treatment she received by one of their employees, who treated her cruelly, and did not call 911 when my mom was gasping for air and screaming out with chest pain. I had to call 911that morning, or my mom could have died that morning if she did not get to the hospital in time. I urge you to really think twice before you ever consider this place for your loved one. It's run by kids who are unprofessional ,and unfortunately one aid there in particular should be fired for being incompetent and mean and uncompassionate.
We were extremely disappointed with the care that mom received at this so-called "Assisted Living Facility".We also we're lied to and deceived by the administrator and owner regarding how mom's care would be attended to. Mom's care was inappropriate and negligent, and because of their incompetency mom wound up taken by ambulance to the hospitalE/R where she still is 5 days later. Mom was also treated at times with a lack of compassion and kindness to the point where it made her cry .BEWARE of this facility."don't judge a book by its cover" like we unfortunately did. This facility is unprofessional in many aspects of what an assisted living facility should be. It has set back mom's health tremendously and we are not sure if she will ever recover from her very brief-"NIGHTMARE stay at this horrible place. We pray that the incompetent, negligent, unprofessional treatment that mom received is corrected and that they learn from their horrible, unacceptable mistakes -so that all the current and future residents at this facility be treated properly. BEWARE.

Very comforting.
Wonderful assisted living. They are taking excellent care of my dad. They are very caring and considerate. I Highly recommend this facility.
The place is newly renovated. Scott the owner is Great and very caring. Alice the Administrator is also great and very caring. We had our parent there and my only complaint is that they need more staff. Once they resolve that, then this place gets 10 stars !!!!!!
