The 62.5m/205'1" motor yacht 'Baton Rouge' by the Dutch shipyard Icon Yachts offers flexible accommodation for up to 12 guests in 7 cabins and features interior styling by British designer RWD.

From bow to stern, Baton Rouge is brimming with an fantastic array of social and dining areas, both inside and out, making her the ideal yacht for relaxing and entertaining whilst on charter. Her features include beach club and gym.

Guest Accommodation

Built in 2010, Baton Rouge offers guest accommodation for up to 12 guests in 7 suites comprising a master suite, two VIP cabins and two double cabins. There are 9 beds in total, including 4 queen, 5 doubles and 2 convertible. She is also capable of carrying up to 18 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

You and your guests can enjoy a variety of experiences on Baton Rouge, particularly a beach club for you to relax on the edge of the water. You can visit the well-equipped gym so that you can keep up with your fitness routine at sea or elsewhere, soak up the bubbles in style in the deck jacuzzi.

Baton Rouge benefits from some excellent features to improve your charter, particularly Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to stay connected at all times, should you wish. You can stay comfortable on board whatever the weather, with air conditioning during your charter.

Baton Rouge is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Powered by twin MTU engines, she comfortably cruises at 13 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots with a range of up to 5,000 nautical miles from her 150,000 litre fuel tanks. Baton Rouge features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels.

When not cruising Baton Rouge has onboard an incredible selection of water toys and accessories for you and your guests to connect with the waters around you. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. Guests can experience the thrill and adventure of riding one of the two Yamaha WaveRunners. Another excellent feature are towable toys offering fun and adventure. If that isn't enough Baton Rouge also features waterskis, a Kite Surfer, a seabob, wakeboards, WindSurfers and much more. When it comes to Tenders, Baton Rouge has you covered - with three tenders, including a 8m/26'3" Yachtwerft Meyer Limo Tender.

Baton Rouge and her crew are available for charter this winter for cruising within the Caribbean. She is already accepting bookings this summer for cruising in the Mediterranean.

With more volume across her six decks than any other yacht of her size, the superyacht 205ft (62.5m) Tim Heywood-designed BATON ROUGE is the quintessential motor yacht for up to 12 guests to enjoy a marvellous family charter vacation in the Mediterranean in the summer and the Caribbean in the winter.

Special features which make luxury private crewed yacht BATON ROUGE unique include an extended beach club, gymnasium, observation lounge, piano, over-sized jacuzzi with swim jet and enormous upper sun deck which converts to a party and dance floor, complete with sound system.

The appealing sun deck has a gigantic circular sun pad forward, and several sun lounges aft, plus a shaded dining space and full bar.

On the bridge deck are even more leisure amenities to entice guests, including lounge area, undercover dining table for 12 and magnificent jacuzzi with swim jet for keeping fit or cooling off.

The upper deck has yet more options for dining and entertaining, with a large dining table and lounges flowing into the bright upper deck saloon with its electric piano, ingenious bespoke games table and panoramic observation lounge.

The lower deck beach club is more like a laid-back lounge and water toy centre, offering easy access to the water and spectacular viewing platform to watch all the fun.

With a refreshing palette of marine hues, counterpointed by wicker and timber, BATON ROUGE boasts spectacular interiors by Redman Whiteley Dixon, with many innovative and customised features.

Designed with a super-stylish beach house theme, guest areas have a cool, comfortable vibe that perfectly suits both relaxation and entertaining.

In the main saloon, the Kaleidescape entertainment system providing on-demand music and movies. Sky UK, Sky France Satellite TV where geographically available and there are iPod docking stations in main saloon, sky lounge, all guest cabins and gym. 

ACCOMMODATION

Luxury charter yacht BATON ROUGE provides lavish accommodation for 12 guests in seven spacious cabins including two VIP cabins spread across three decks.

The vast, 100-square-metre master suite is forward on the main deck and comprises two private offices, a dressing room and separate vanity, and a huge bathroom with frosted glass rainfall shower and blue marble bath with massive porthole window for breathtaking sea views.

Two VIP suites are located on the upper deck and four further double cabins are on the lower deck, two of which convert to twins.

WATERTOYS & TENDERS

Guests aboard BATON ROUGE will have more than enough to occupy each day of their charter. The well-equipped gymnasium comprises Technogym exercise wall, weight bench, exercise bike, treadmill and free weights.

There are three tenders: an 8m Yachtwerft Meyer Limo tender for arriving to shore in style, a 7.1m Castoldi tender and 6.2m Pascoe SOLAS. For high-energy fun, there are two 3-person SeaDoo 260 Limited iS waverunners, one SeaDoo SPARK, two Seabobs, kayaks, four SUPS, Jobe shock knee board, one full kitesurfing set, scuba diving equipment, snorkelling gear, waterskis, wakeboards and tow toys.

Motor yacht BATON ROUGE is an approved RYA Training Centre for waverunners and jetskis.

With a reputation for going above and beyond for guests, the 18 crew of BATON ROUGE are energetic and eager to create sensational charter experiences.

Louisiana is 17.5 percent water. We have lakes, bayous, rivers and the Gulf of Mexico. Airboats, kayaks and motorboats can tackle Louisiana’s often narrow, shallow and swampy waterways. But Louisiana also has amazing water for sailing enthusiasts. Sailboat captains just have to know where to go.

Sail on Louisiana’s Biggest Lake

Pontchartrain is perhaps the best known lake in the state and has an international reputation in the sailing world. With five yacht clubs and many public boat ramps, it’s very accessible. The West End’s Southern Yacht Club was established in 1849 and is the second oldest in the U.S. These clubs host regattas throughout the year. Local favorites include a weekly Wednesday regatta from March through November, and a Mardi Gras regatta each carnival season.

Lake Pontchartrain ’s 403,200 acres of breezy waters can handle anything from dinghies to ocean cruisers. Pontchartrain links the Mississippi River with the Intercoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico, so it’s a good starting point or thoroughfare for long sailing adventures. Staying closer to shore? Both lakeshores have lagoons and wildlife preserves, including the 24,000 acre Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge.

Where to Sail Near Lake Charles

Calcasieu Lake, or “Big Lake” to locals, connects Lake Charles with the Gulf of Mexico. The nearly 50,000 acre lake has islands and sandy beaches along its shipping canal, which is 40 miles long, 400 feet wide and 40 feet deep. The lake itself is about five to eight feet deep and boasts a variety of fish, particularly trout. This lake is also home to a local celebrity: Pinky, a rare, pink bottle-nosed dolphin .

Lake Charles is a brackish lake, about five feet deep with white sandy beaches. It has a small yacht club that hosts a regular weekly race.

Sabine Lake is about 50 miles south of Lake Charles, near the Texas-Louisiana state line. It is 60,000 acres of open water, rich with fish and perfect for sailing. Average depths are between five and eight feet.

Where to Sail in Acadiana

Sail alongside dolphins in Vermilion Bay, an inlet of the Gulf of Mexico. The bay is serviced by Cypremort Yacht Club and connects the Southwest Pass with West Cote Blanche Bay. Vermilion Bay is a rich source of saltwater fish.

Where to Sail In Northwest Louisiana

The 8,575-acre Cross Lake has been popular with sailboat captains since 1927. It’s about 10 feet deep with light, steady winds and several public access points. The area is supported by an active yacht club .

Where to Sail Near Baton Rouge

False River may not actually be a river, but it is a good spot for sailing. It is actually a 3,200-acre lake formed in the early 1700s by the Mississippi River. It has an average depth of 21 feet, but some parts of the lake are up to 65 feet deep. It’s served by Pelican Yacht Club.

Crew member died investigating failed damper on 62m Baton Rouge

Further details surrounding the death of the chief engineer on board 62.5-metre Baton Rouge have been released by Burgess , the yacht's management firm. The deceased, identified by friends as 47-year-old British national Roy Temme, died in hospital on 24 February following a power outage on the vessel the night before, which led to the failure of an air damper. 

On 24 February at 7.30 am local time, "the chief engineer entered the technical space to fix the damper. Shortly thereafter he was found unresponsive. Medics were called and performed CPR".

The engineer was pronounced dead at 10.19 am local time after being transferred to hospital.

Burgess said that the "next of kin has been notified and we are working with the authorities to ascertain further details". It went on: "Burgess is providing guidance and counsel to the crew onboard Baton Rouge and we ask at this time that you respect their privacy. Our deepest thoughts go out to family, friends and colleagues."

A friend of the deceased has set up a crowdfunding page for Temme's family. Liam Dobbin, a recruiter in the superyacht sector, said: "He is a man with a heart of gold and is sorely missed by many family, friends and crew who have met and worked with him. He leaves a wife and two children."

An investigation is pending.

The owner took delivery of the yacht in September 2010.  Icon motor yacht Baton Rouge is an imposing full-displacement superyacht. She has incredible volume over her six decks.  A total of 1,423 gross tons.  Motor yacht Baton Rouge has more volume than most other 63-meter luxury yacht charter vessels.  In specific, currently on the water.  In addition, she is a green, eco-friendly yacht!

Exterior styling for megayacht Baton Rouge was provided by Tim Heywood, with Redman Whiteley Dixon designing the interior.

Fully-stabilized and optimized in every respect for luxury living afloat, her extensive interior guest areas include multiple lounges and a choice of dining options, which cohesively encompass both townhouse elegance and beach house chic to suit one’s mood.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Accommodation for 12 guests in 7 large cabins is configured as a large master suite on the main deck, two VIP cabins on the upper deck, and two doubles and two convertible doubles/twins on the lower deck.

INTERIOR DESIGN

The yacht is full of wonderful textures. The materials range from beautiful woods, leathers, marbles, nickel, and bronze details.  Further, to handcrafted furniture and original artwork.  The vessel’s eclectic contemporary interior is both serene and stylish. The theme of space continues through to the deck areas.  These are expansive and with great outdoor spaces for lounging and dining.  Additionally, a pool with a jet stream and a dedicated sundeck (which converts to a party deck) exist.  The party deck has an enormous circular sun pad.  There is also an inviting beach club lounge at sea level.
