The 133-foot (40.54m) custom-build Broward SERQUE offers the opportunity to own a stunning, expertly maintained six-stateroom motor yacht ready for her next adventure. Rebuilt in 2008 by the current owner, she was taken all the way back to her hull plating and superstructure, as part of a massive project to transform and update her to today’s luxury yachting standards. Over the years, more than $25 million has been spent, with no expense spared. She is excellent for a family, business person or for those who love to entertain.

SERQUE features a traditionally classic interior that was custom created by Genesis Yachtline in Viareggio, Italy. The expansive main salon and dining room are full-beam. The main salon features comfortable seating on both port and starboard sides as well as an impressive, state-of-the-art entertainment system. The yacht’s L-shaped galley is equipped with high-end stainless-steel appliances.

Thirteen guests are accommodated on board in six sumptuous staterooms.  The master stateroom is located on the forward main deck and is outfitted with a king-size bed, a desk with pop-up vanity and a built-in divan on port side. The master features a substantial en-suite bath that includes a large, centerline Jacuzzi tub and seamless glass shower, as well as his-and-hers vanities with granite counters and marble floors. The yacht’s five additional staterooms, including a forward split-level VIP cabin with an en-suite bath with large Jacuzzi tub/shower combo, two mirrored king staterooms aft with en-suites, a twin with Pullman and en-suite and a single twin with Pullman, desk and en-suite, are located below deck. All staterooms were built from custom, mahogany sapele wood and feature Botticino stone with mosaic borders, Italian high-gloss furniture and luxurious silk and chenille fabrics.

On deck, motor yacht SERQUE has an abundance of areas well suited for enjoying life on the water. Her large main deck aft features a dining table, two boarding doors, a wet bar, a pop-up TV, and two refrigeration drawers for ease of service. Stairs to the flybridge and storage are located starboard. SERQUE’s expansive flybridge is a truly incredible space complete with an eisenglass enclosure from midship forward, allowing the space to be air-conditioned, and a helm station with three captain chairs. To starboard is a wing station. Large dinette seating with a retractable table for easy access and a hooded Viking Professional grill are also found here. The space also features a large wet bar with seating for three, an impressive Jacuzzi for 10 guests, three drop-down 40” televisions and, further aft, in the non-enclosed area a large open deck with plenty of space for chaise loungers. Two davits are located port and starboard for lifting water toys. The yacht’s foredeck also has seating for two with a chaise-style lounger. The swim platform aboard motor yacht SERQUE allows for easy water access.

SERQUE offers a variety of features to rival those in her size range, including six staterooms and Naiad zero-speed stabilizers. Her engines were rebuilt in 2018 with a CAT extended warranty, including electronics, through 2023.

Completely rebuilt considering the rules and guidance of ABS and MCA, from the hull up in 2008 (66% of the aluminum on the vessel is new), including machinery and systems, and an all-new interior designed and built by Genesis Yachtline in Viareggio Italy.  The REBUILD IN 2008 WAS ALL-ENCOMPASSING: Keel rebuilt, new shafts, the entire vessel was replumbed, all new wiring throughout the vessel, the entire flybridge is new aluminum.

Motor yacht SERQUE is very likely one of the most loved and most transformed yachts floating on the water today. She has been a labor of love for the owner, who has spared absolutely no expense in designing, rebuilding, decorating, and maintaining the yacht to a condition that is an extension of his current lifestyle.

SERQUE's transformation began in 2008 at Lauderdale Marine Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she was taken back to her aluminum frames. The percentage of new metal in the yacht is 66%, including the new deckhouse, flybridge, area aft of the engine room bulkhead, keel, running gear tunnels, and most of the aluminum plating. All of the fuel tanks were built new as well as the plumbing tunnel on the main deck. She was extended a full 18 feet in length from her original length of 115' and her height increased by an additional 15 feet. In fact, the owner added 40' overall because the extension was added on at the engine room bulkhead. No system was left untouched in her engine room; everything was replaced- including all the wiring.  Today she features CAT C-32 Acert engines with an extended warranty through 2023, generators that were zeroed out (June 2020), a brand new a/c chiller plant, new electrical switchboard, and new watermakers. Her teak has been recently replaced throughout and her paint has been fully maintained- painted in sections over the years as needed. 

During the 2008 rebuild, her interior was completely transformed by Genesis Yachtline, the same company that designs and outfits Benetti Yachts in Viareggio, Italy. Stunning mahogany with inlays, timeless marble and granite, and luxurious silk fabrics are found throughout the entire yacht.

SERQUE'S six beautifully appointed staterooms feature generously sized en-suites and closets, with large showers, Jacuzzi tubs, and vanities. All the cabins feature state-of-the-art entertainment systems, with Creston controls for televisions, lighting, and entertainment systems.

Any large family or individual who enjoys entertaining will enjoy the large, L-shaped galley that features all the appliances and amenities a chef could hope for- Miele, JennAir, SubZero, and Viking appliances reign supreme.

Northrop & Johnson Sells 40m Superyacht SERQUE

Northrop & Johnson has announced the sale of the 40.54 metre superyacht SERQUE, with yacht broker Kristen Klein acting on behalf of the seller.

Serque was originally custom-built by Broward and launched in 1995. In 2008, the current owner completely rebuilt the superyacht to update her to modern standards of onboard luxury. During the rebuild, she was stripped all the way back to her hull plating and superstructure, and her owner has invested $25 million on the yacht over the years.

The 40.54m superyacht boasts a classic interior design styled by Viareggio-based Genesis Yachtline. The warm and welcoming interior guest areas give the yacht great charter value, with plenty of opulent spaces for entertaining and relaxing.

Serque can accommodate up to 13 guests in 6 beautiful and spacious staterooms. One the main deck, the master suite is outfitted with a king-size bed, desk with pop-up vanity and a built-in divan. The master suite also comes complete with a lavish en-suite bathroom, including a Jacuzzi, seamless glass shower and his-and-hers granite vanities.

The other suites comprise of a split-level VIP (also with Jacuzzi), two king-bed staterooms, a twin-bed stateroom and a single-bed stateroom, providing plenty of flexibility for guests. Each stateroom has custom mahogany Sapele wood and features Botticino stone with mosaic borders, Italian high-gloss furniture and luxurious silk and chenille fabrics.

The expansive outdoor decks provide phenomenal opportunities for guests to immerse themselves in the outdoor environment. A large main deck aft bar is perfect for unwinding under the sun, and also offers al fresco dining facilities. Superyacht Serque beached in the Bahamas

High winds caused the 40.5 metre superyacht Serque to break free from her mooring and be washed onto a beach in the Bahamas near Staniel Cay.

The custom yacht built by US yard Broward was anchored off of Big Major Spot in the Exuma island chain of the Bahamas where she was pushed all the way to shore.

The anchorages in the Bahamas tend to be shallow and grounding is always a possibility if low tides aren’t minded, but getting washed to shore is less common. Serque has a draught of 2.44 metres.

The popular anchorage of Big Major Spot is famous for its family of wild, but friendly, swimming pigs who inhabit the island. The pigs can be seen in the background of the photos of the Serque washed ashore.

Fortunately, it was reported that Serque was able to freed and floated off the hard a few hours after the photos in this story, courtesy Butch Hampton, were snapped and she is currently being salvaged.

Serque is an aluminium-constructed displacement yacht that was completely rebuilt by her former owner in a three-year process and re-launched in 2009. Exterior design comes from Donald L Blount and Associates and interiors are by Pavlik Yacht Design with joinery by Genesis Yachtline.

She accommodates 12 guests in four double and two twin cabins and has space for six crew members.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.

Food is very expensive,very pretentious, doesn't worth that money. Portions are very small. We ordered ravioli and there were 4! Four raviolis! For almost 15 euros. Then we asked to bring us dessert menu but nothing, they didn't even bothered, so we payed and left... without dessert. Very poor service for that price. More

Visited this lovely restaurant with a friend of mine. It was relaxingly warm August evening - so the place on the river seemed like a good idea. We came quite early and the restaurant was not full. The hostesses kindly offered several places to sit... and we chose to sit on the sofas. We had some wine, which was good. We struggled a bit when deciding about the food as few options (scallops) were not available. Fish on ice on display did not look very fresh. To be honest it was an unusually hot August and it is probably understandable that some see food options were not available. However, we did manage to order something and sat waiting and looking onto the river. My long-legged friend struggled sitting at the low sofa and the manager noticed that, offering as a very good, proper table beside the open window. It was nice touch and I was very pleased by their polite observations and immediate reaction to solve the problem. Food was quite good and presentation was perfect. Perhaps I can something about the food, but 1 visit is not enough to criticize or make a definitive opinion. Overall, quality place, which of course, does not come cheap. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. More
