Weather in La Paz

February to late June and mid-October to late December is the best time of year to sail in La Paz. Summer is very long and hot in La Paz, while the winter is quite short, comfortable, and dry. Temperatures during the summer time is around 90F sometimes reaching 100F with fantastic sea temperatures of more than 80F. Low season between December and February is dry with still comfortable temperatures around 79F. Most of the rains in La Paz occur between July and October.

Sailing conditions

While planning boat charter please consider sailing conditions in La Paz with prevailing southerly winds raging between 10 to 15 knots. Most of the tropical storms during the hurricane season pass south of La Paz and the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula.

Please visit harbormaster prior to leaving the marina and share with him a detailed itinerary, including planned stops and crew information. Base manager will give you all the necessary information during the check-in procedure and briefing.

Regulations

Night sailing is forbidden. Base manager will provide you with the required park permits to visit Espiritu Santo Island. To fish from a boat in Mexico you need to hold a fishing license issued by the Mexican government. Fishing licenses can be ordered online .

Pets are not allowed on any of La Paz islands thus pets are not allowed on board of charter fleet in La Paz.

On top of that it features Yamaha Wave Runner 1200, Paddle Board, Double Kayak , Dingy 12"( Soporte ) and has a Fly bridge with room for 15 passengers , formal dining room for 8 passengers , aft dining set for 8 passengers, full kitchen, living room with flat TV, DVD, surround sound system for a perfect vacation. 

The Elegant Azimuth 80' foot accommodates up to 10 charter guests in four deluxe cabins on the lower deck. The master suite is amidships and full beam of the luxury yacht with a center lined king size bed, sofa, vanity, walk in wardrobe and en-suite facilities with his and hers marble sinks and also massage bathtub. A VIP cabin is forward and full beam of the yacht with a queen size bed and en-suite facilities. It also features two cabins that offer cabins single side-by-side mattress, one with en-suite facilities while the other has shared amenities. Each cabin features a neutral decoration of lighting, satin finished wood panels, audio and visual entertainment.

The 100 Leonardo is a class of its own; a luxury yacht of highly sophisticated design with distinctly stylish and dynamic lines. The superstructure is set slightly further back towards the stern to also underline the dynamic and aggressive character of its profile, leaning more towards the horizon. A dynamic design, ample sun decks and unique alternatives - such as the staircase that links the fly bridge to the saloon or the crystal ceiling compartment of the wheelhouse - make the 100 Leonardo an excellent ambassador for style and creativity.

There are basically two entrances to the lower deck areas. The stairways outside the Pilothouse forward access to three guest cabins. The VIP boasts a centerline berth size bed, private bathroom along with a Queen cabin with en-suite bathroom and a private cabin from side to side. From the lounge is another set of stairways to a private entry to the master room. . The full beam master stateroom is basically in the middle of the boat. The room offers amenities such as a king bed, a bathtub, large hanging lockers, a small sofa, several drawers and also an entertainment facility.

We had the best day ever on this boat! The itinerary to Isla Espiritu Santo and Playa Balandra is exactly what we were looking for. Our tour guide Christoph took us snorkeling where we saw a bunch of wild life including a sea turtle! The ceviche provided was delicious and made fresh. Overall this was a wonderful experience and would highly recommend to anyone! We can’t wait to come back! Thank you to Lester, Fabiola, Christoph, and Captian Enrique! 😊

What an awesome experience!! There are predefined locations to visit but the timing and duration is up to you. We sailed from La Paz harbor to Isla Espiritu Santo, did some swimming and snorkeling by the island. What a beautiful diversity of sea life, amazing. We then headed to Balandra area. The crew prepared lunch for us while we paddle boarded and did more swimming on the beautiful waters of Balandra beach. We opted to eat on the boat. The crew setup a table for us and the ceviche was delicious. After lunch we did more snorkeling around a rock formation in the middle of Balandra beach, the water was clear and calm. We saw a few species of fish and beautiful coral formations. We then headed to see the sea lions and birds, we were lucky to spot some booby birds that had migrated fro south America. On our way back the captain spotted a pod of dolphins and was kind enough to follow them around. it made my wife’s day to see baby dolphins play around the boat and not to mention the beautiful sunset. Best of all, you can do all of privately and at your own pace. Thank you Lester and Fabiola for making this trip memorable.

Lester and Fabiola are extraordinary hosts, and their boat and service are exceptional. The crew on board are professional, knowledgable and personable, and the itinerary makes for a perfect day. The food is incredibly fresh and delicious. We were able to experience Isla Espiritu Santo and several beaches in a relaxed and flexible way, creating great memories that will last a lifetime. I highly recommend Lover Lips Yachts for a wonderful boating experience and taste of La Paz hospitality at its best.

Like a Swiss watch, the lover lips yatch experience runs perfectly. Since the time we booked until the day after our trip, Lester and his team took care a 100% of everything we could have needed and more. if you are looking for a trustworthy crew with a beautiful yatch, look no more! . We had a wonderful day on the water! The owners were very responsive, hospitable, and the crew was professional and attentive. Every detail from making sure we enjoyed the scenery, music, food, drinks was perfect. We would absolutely book with them again!

What a tremendous experience. We sailed from La Paz harbor to Balandra, saw sea lions and many fish along the way. Lunch was prepared by the captain and delivered to the beach where we sat comfortably on beach chairs in the shade under the umbrellas the crew set up for us. On the way home we had dolphins playing in the wake of the boat which is an experience we have never encountered before. Overall this is an A+ operation that we give the highest recommendation.

Can I get a survey done in Mexico?

YES! We work with several surveyors in each area, many of whom are also US or Canadian nationals. We work with people that have done surveys for clients before, so we know the quality of their work. If you are buying a vessel, the surveyor you choose will be working for you, ensuring that you get a vessel that has been properly inspected from bow to stern. Our certified surveyors work with US, Canadian and European insurance carriers on a regular basis. Current survey rates range from $10 to $14 per foot.  E-mail us for more details.

How does the boat-buying process work in Mexico?

If you see a boat that interests you,  contact us and let us know! Each boat has an ‘Inquire About This Boat’ button that will connect you directly with us so that you may ask questions about each boat. We will respond quickly to your inquiries and provide you with detailed information and assessments of the boats we have in inventory. Once you are ready to make an offer, we will work with you to draw up an “Offer to Purchase & Sales Agreement” which details the conditions and any contingencies of the purchase. Our brokers will work with you and the seller to come to a mutually acceptable price and terms. Upon the offer being accepted by the seller, the 10% deposit must be submitted to the title company noted below in Washington State. This amount is held in your name in a trust account.

My offer was accepted! What's next?

Once your offer is accepted, you will have a set period of time to complete the purchase transaction, normally 10 to 30 days. This period is used to satisfy any contingencies such as your personal inspection, the survey and the sea trial. Once all the contingencies have been satisfied, closing and documentation instructions are sent to Pacific Maritime Title (PMT) or Marine Documentation Service, Inc (MDSI). You will receive your new documentation from the US Coast Guard or Canada Ships Registry. Proper papers will be provided if registering under another flag. In the unlikely event that the contingencies are not met, the deposit in trust is returned to you.

Can I get work done on my boat in Mexico?

Absolutely! La Paz, Mazatlán, San Carlos and Puerto Vallarta are very large cruising communities with multiple yards and marinas. What do I need to know about boat insurance?

You must carry liability insurance on your vessel while you are in Mexican waters. All marinas will ask for proof of coverage, and some port captains may also require it. We work with reputable insurance brokers who can provide the coverage you need within Mexican, US or other international waters. How hard is it to find a slip for my boat?

There are slips readily available in all of our locations. Unlike many parts of the U.S. or Canada where slips are in short supply, there is availability throughout most of the year. During peak season when there are multiple events at the same time, such as regattas, fishing tournaments, or the seasonal launch and haul-out in the fall and spring, there may be a wait of a few days before you get the slip of your choice. • If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.
