The perfect club with an amazing group of people. They welcomed me to their club and what a great diverse group of positive people!!
This review is belated. I hosted a Birthday Party here quite some time ago. It wasn't the best event, but the reasons for that have much more to do with the fact that I am not a great event planner, and much less to do with this venue. Staff here were all pleasant, helpful, and professional during the event-planning process. I hired a separate catering company which brought in ready-to-eat food on trays, but the kitchen is large, well-equipped, and sparkling clean, if you or your caterers want to prepare food in-house. The dance floor is pretty small, as one of the other reviews mentioned. Of course I viewed this space prior to booking it, and the size of the dance floor was one of the (relatively few) negatives about this space that I could see. Fortunately only about 5 or 6 of the attendees at this particular party were interested in dancing. I don't think the dance floor would've fit more than 10 - 12 individuals (or maybe about the same number of couples, if they were slow-dancing) comfortably. If dance is a huge focal point of your event, I wouldn't recommend considering this venue. It is nice to be so near the water. That being said, the view through the windows here is mostly of moored boats. If your event is in the summer (like mine was) and people want to spend time outside, there is a small private patio and a long public sidewalk along the water. We caught a bit of the sunset, and it was very pretty. I didn't hire yacht club staff members to staff the event itself, it wasn't necessary for this event, so I cannot speak to how that would go. However, the few staff members that I briefly interacted with on the day of the event were helpful but non-intrusive, which is exactly what I was hoping for.
Most wonderful location for our wedding! Perfect size, easy parking and great staff. The one star reviews are from people who broke the rules (and the law) regarding numbers of people and alchohol service. What sour grapes.
I've had the worst costumer service here! It was my family's engagement and the owner shut it down in the middle of everything. The staff manager was extremely rude and very manipulative. Kept us in the dark about what was happening. It was suppose to be a happy day and she made it the complete opposite. We were so kind to the staff and tried to understand but she didn't extend the same grace to us. I hate that such a beautiful place has someone that kind of staff working there.
These people are rude. My brother had a wedding and they kicked us out when we had the place for 3 more hrs. Never host this place
We have our company holiday party here this year. Nice venue by the water in Edmonds. Their drink selection is exclusively alcohol, water, and coffee, so if you are not a fan of alcoholic drinks, then your only options become very clear. The foods were excellent. It was lightly decorated and the effort seems moderate. I would recommend this place for your special occasions only if you can strike a great deal with them.
The Edmonds Yacht Club was the perfect venue. We ended up with around 125 guests and it was intimate but there was room for plenty more. The club has fresh paint and carpet as of about a month ago. Diane and her team were amazingly helpful and we had the best party I've ever been to (maybe that doesn't count because it was my wedding... but regardless). The EYC was very flexible with everything we wanted to do, and the patio was perfect for a laid back yet formal wedding. I also agree Rob, the view is of boats... and the Olympic mountian range, so if you're not into the beauty of the Puget Sound and the PNW, maybe you should look into other states to get married. We have several other couple friends getting married this summer and 3 talked to us after the wedding and said they were second guessing thier venue choice. Thanks again EYC, epic venue.
It's a nice venue for special occasions. Intimate with a view!!! You can stroll outside and enjoy the beautiful view!
I am a Past Commodore of the Edmonds Yacht Club, so my bias is up-front. :-) In response to Heather's rating... During the first week of March, 2016 we replaced all of the carpet, repainted the walls and added gorgeous valances. The place looks wonderful. Our main room easily holds 150-220 people (seated) for an event, there is a separate bar area and a huge commercial kitchen (caterers love it). The Club faces the Edmonds Marina and you have a great view of the docks and boats. We're a yacht club, so we think that is a good thing. The Edmonds Chowder Festival had over 700 people troop through our Club in one afternoon and the event was staffed by the Chamber of Commerce, not our staff. They were unprepared for the crowd - the event sold out in two hours! For private events we always have an on-site concierge to make sure things go smoothly.
I got married here and the best experience I could have ever imagined. The coordinator was so knowledgeable about local resources and encouraged buying things local, and she was available at all times. She responded extremely quickly to everything and was a blast to work with. The day of the wedding, everything went smoothly. We had great weather. The spot is serene and ideal. I would highly recommend it. It is also affordable and you won't be able to find anything better for the price.
