I'm not a member but frequent with friends. I like the tennis courts and teams I play against. I've enjoyed fun wine tastings. Recently I came for the outdoor concert night. Always a good time with friends, attentive staff, happy bar tenders, and beautiful surroundings.

Had a wonderful dinner with family! Wait staff and manager was outstanding! Beautiful atmosphere, excellent service!
Great boating facility! We went out on Memorial day weekend with friends. Headed out to the Ft. George sandbar. Easy boat access in and out of the marina. Full service at the marina. Filled up on gas before we left. Huge facility. Plenty of space on a major boating weekend. 4 stars only for the fact that access in and out of the marina proper is a little tricky.
Pulling out for the day
Beautiful club. Great location on the St Johns River. Great sailing facility that was recently built with great dockage. And recently they really have gotten behind High School Sailing as well which I hope brings more sailing to the Club and the Jacksonville Area as a whole. The chef does a great job as well. What well prepared food and the cost for lunch was pretty darn reasonable. The Club is very well run and I hope they keep going with their sailing passion. Jacksonville is a nice place to sail and between this club and the new quality sailing program at Jacksonville University as well the area is ripe for a nice growth of the sport.
In 2015, the Club has many new projects on the books, they have removed an old house on the property and replaced it with tennis courts and solutions for Jr. Tennis programs. The fitness center and daycare plan to be expanded as well as the pool area and the amenities it offers guests during the summer months. The old tennis courts along the river are to be replaced with a green lawn which will provide options such as croquet, bocce ball, as well as a place for weddings and special events. This in addition to a change for both inside and outside dining, have helped the club expand its membership and be poised for growth for years to come. Having eaten there yesterday, the new female manager understands what people want in their dining choices. You can order off the menu, so long as the base item is on the menu, at that time. For Sunday we had a burger, with blue cheese sprinkled on top on a bed of lettuce with blue cheese dressing. We also shared the FYC Club sandwhich a traditional club sandwich. On other occasions you can eat at the bar in the private dining area as well as outside or by the pool. Many options and choices, and just in time as the weather improves.
What a gorgeous place to hold an event! As a sponsor, I was able to attend the Equality Florida Jacksonville Gala, and I was so impressed by the venue. A beautiful, old Florida feel, with obvious updates and amazing upkeep, this location was ideal, and I loved the balcony overlooking the river, as we watched the moon rise. Although I'm not a member, I definitely vouch for the beautiful location, and although we didn't get to poke around outside, the inside is absolutely stunning! Love it.
They we're great but then they took away the plate of chicken tenders that I was eating. Heated. The disrespect. Overall a cool place tho
I went to a wedding at this venue. We used the upper floors and the outside balcony for the wedding and reception. The venue is very old, but updated. The building has been around since the late 1800s, but other than the design, you cannot tell by the amenities. There is a beautiful view of the bay overlooking the city skyline. It was beautiful for the wedding. The ballroom was in an older style but still lovely. The men's bathroom on the second floor is a deathtrap. I believe you have to have a sponsor let you win to have an event there, but if you can it would be worth it.
I've raced out of FYC several times and always had fun. The staff are accommodating to out of town sailors, which is more than I can say for other certain stick up their butt yacht clubs that don't know how to host a regatta or welcome racers. Staff are friendly and helpful. Parking is available to set up your boat to race. Fairly decent ramp and easy to use hoist to put your boat in are right on the waterfront. Bar is well stocked. Dinners won't knock your sock off, but are worth of any other decent restaurant. Try the Derby Salad, it is different.
One of the oldest yacht clubs in the nation. Incredible hospitality (while seated poolside guests can have their sunglasses cleaned by a service the yacht club provides). The florida yacht club Hosted the southeast USODA regatta 2016. Very welcoming environment. The facility was all inclusive to the event (families, parents, sailors). Make your own lunch station. welcome buffet on Friday After check in for sailors and family. Italian buffet on Saturday for sailors and family as well. Vast spread of quality ingredients for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pool open for the kids. Parents Lounge area. Indoor bathrooms equipped with soap, hand lotion & mouthwash, kept very clean & stocked with quality bathroom tissue. Showers available for sailors also equipped with soap, shampoo, conditioner etc. - bring your own towels. Designated trailer parking. Special bathrooms brought into sailing/boat lunch area to accommodate 150+ boats. There were plenty of water/ice filled coolers available throughout the boat launch area. There were 162 RWB and 10 green fleet optimist. Very well organized which makes the entire experience effort free and efficient. The entire yacht club staff as well as ALL the yacht club members encountered were helpful, friendly, pleasant and welcoming. This yacht club is unmatched by any other facility that has hosted a youth regatta. All yacht clubs should strive to be so inviting when they host a youth event.

Florida Yacht Club Jacksonville , Florida 1929-1930
History of The Florida Yacht Club, Jacksonville Florida
The Florida Yacht Club was established by seventeen charter members in 1877. New York businessman William Backhouse Astor, Jr.,was the driving force behind the creation of a club promoting boating and water sports in Jacksonville. Astor felt that the broad and slow St. Johns River was a perfect location for boating, though he was the only person in Jacksonville to actually own a yacht at the time. The original clubhouse was constructed at the end of Market Street in downtown Jacksonville, and cost $3,500, to which Astor contributed $500. The original Florida Yacht Club building was a large two-story edifice, with the second floor being used for gatherings and dances. Astor served as the club's first "Commodore".
The original building burned down in the Great Fire of 1901. The club moved to a temporary clubhouse in the Riverside neighborhood, before relocating to a new dedicated facility on Willow Branch Creek in 1907. In 1928 the Florida Yacht Club moved to its present building in Jacksonville's Ortega neighborhood. The current clubhouse was designed in the Mediterranean Revival style and cost $90,000.

About the FCYC
The Florida Council of Yacht Clubs is an organization made up of 36 yacht clubs located around the state from the panhandle to the Keys.
More Clubs, More Choices… Welcome to Council Life!
We invite you to experience for yourself the convenience, variety and fun that make FCYC membership so special.
On behalf of all of the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs, we look forward to the pleasure of serving you.
*Some member clubs have placed a limitation on reciprocal usage by nearby clubs. Enforcement of these limitations (when adopted by a club) is the responsibility of the individual club, not the Council.
FCYC Representation
Member clubs in the Council represent a population of approximately 37,300 club members who have aided in bringing many legislative matters favorable to the boating public to a successful conclusion. To assist the Council in monitoring boating-related legislation, the Council retains a legislative representative in Tallahassee.
Established in 1960, the FCYC is a respected force recognized as a potent organization of dedicated yachtsmen.
The Council is an active member of water oriented organizations such as the National Boating Federation. Close liaison is maintained with the U.S. Coast Guard in St. Petersburg, Tampa, Jacksonville, Miami, and the Corp of Engineers district office in Jacksonville.
Our Member Clubs sponsor cruises on members’ boats to destinations along the East and Gulf Coasts of Florida and the Bahamas. The Council has also sponsored professionally organized, large ship cruises to unique locations in Europe, South America, through the Panama Canal, and many other destinations.
